SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE! Today I had an appointment at Empire Exchange. I came in with a bag of laundered, pressed clothing in excellent shape and quality. There were approximately 40 items, very comparable to the items in their store (and might I say even BETTER!). Several were vintage, some bought in Italy. I also brought in 2 bags of purses. Out of ALL these items, their "evaluator" (I say that lightly) deemed that NOTHING was worth purchasing. NOTHING! Except for 1 purse. I was stunned to say the least! When I got home just now and looked in the bag of clothing, most were not even looked at (at least 75%!!!!!!!) They were folded in the exact way as I had folded them. Totally untouched! Why??? Was I not befitting the "Type" of clientele they wished to deal with? As THEY WRITE ON THEIR WEBSITE: "Through our exchange program, we're able to buy clothes from the creative and dynamic folks who come into our stores, and offer their items a second life." I guess I wasn't creative or dynamic enough!! I thought to give them my business as I wanted to support a very special local business like this instead of going mainstream ie Facebook Marketplace. I thought, oh how organic this place is, they are just the kind of business I wish to support. NO!, instead they deemed I wasn't good enough for them to even consider properly reviewing all my items and making a sound business decision. Shame on them! People, don't waste your time laundering, folding, itemizing, packing, schlepping your beautiful clothes, just to not even be considered because your are not "creative and dynamic" enough. How I wished I had looked at the Google reviews here before going through the trouble and humiliation. These beautiful items of mine are definitely going to have a second life. I'm donating them to a woman's shelter here in Montreal that I support! That is the best deal ever!!! SO..... Now one day later reading their generic response: "Our buyers do look carefully through each and every item, and always return the pieces the same way they were brought in - in this case carefully folded - which is why it might look like they had not been evaluated." Are you kidding me??? How gullible do you think I am. There's another reviewer who said the same thing! Those items were UNTOUCHED! Don't placate your clients. "Please understand, we are a small shop and we have to buy very selectively based around what our clientele is currently buying." Put that on your website!! That you are looking for a specific clientele to buy from ie Gen Z and early Millenials. This is an AGE SPECIFIC store! Say so on your website! Brutal honesty like that, I can respect. Not this flaccid generic response you're doling out. And YES, I was judged by your buyer. Do you know how much business you would garner with clothing that befits the demographic in Little Italy and Mile End? You are missing out on a huge market! Anyways, I do not accept your apology or excuses. Chez Doris shelter for Women will have beauty, quality and respect with my clothing donation I'm glad that I will have given my clothing to a worthy cause and not to you.

Je ne suis pas satisfaite de mon expérience avec cette boutique. J'ai pris un RDV en ligne pour aller porter un sac de vêtements en boutique. J'ai appelé la boutique pour les avertir que j'allais avoir un maximum de 10 minutes de retard pour mon rdv et on m'a répondu très bêtement que si j'avais plus de 10 minutes de retard il n'allait pas récupérer mon sac... Suite à mon arrivée à la boutique, j'ai remis mon sac et l'ont pris pour en faire l'évaluation de mes vêtements. Mes vêtements respectent tous les critères afficher sur le site web, c'est-à-dire: Laver et sans tâche. Pourtant, la magasin a évaluer que mes vêtements ne valait rien, car les brands et le style ne correspond pas à la boutique... Dans mon sac j'avais dans sandales du magasin l'intervalle pratiquement neuve et en boutique il vendait aussi une paire de sandale l'intervalle... mais bon, il faut croire que les miennes n'en valent pas la peine. J'avais aussi une paire de jeans GAP en parfaite condition, mais non pas assez bon MAIS en boutique ils vendent des jeans avec des trous au niveau de la fourche!!!! J'avais des vêtements de la marque Aritzia et j'en ai vu aussi à vendre sur le plancher, mais ça a l'air que mes «marques» qui sont identiques au leurs, ne valent pas la peine! Très déçu... je ne recommande pas cette place.

Rude service. One of the cashiers is acting like a racist. Kept rolling her eyes when my friend was paying. On the top of that, she ordered my friend not to sit and accused us of touching the window that is a meter away. The next second a white male sits down at the same location, and the cashier pretended she didn’t see it. Service grossier. Un des caissiers agit comme un raciste. J'ai continué à rouler les yeux quand mon amie payait. En plus de cela, elle a ordonné à mon amie de ne pas s'asseoir et nous a accusés de toucher la fenêtre qui se trouve à un mètre de distance. La seconde suivante, un homme blanc s'assoit au même endroit, et la caissière a fait semblant de ne pas le voir.

Would give 0 stars if I could. If you’re looking to sell clothes, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. i brought a big pile of clothes, some still with tags on for mid tier brands like Zara, Mango, Banana Republic, etc. I wasn’t expecting them to take everything but all they ended up taking was one pair of Levi’s jeans and a wool sweater. They offered 14 $ cash for both.. took them back instead because the whole thing was a joke. Never returning here and for those looking to sell , trust me and save yourself a trip by NOT going here. You’re better off donating (not to them).

Bought two tops from here and I love the clothing they offer. My only issue is that for curvier women, it may be harder to find clothing here, but that is true for many thrift stores. I am a size 14-16 in pants and couldn't find anything, but I will be back to check every now and then to see if they have more options. They also offer accessories such as hats, bags, belts, shoes, jewelry, and more, so you can't go wrong to check this place out. Also, they pay you for the clothing you bring at 40% of the price they give your item.

Politique de retour insidieuse, on ne peut pas se faire rembourser pour des nouveaux produits en emballage intact même le jour après avec le reçu d’achat. Il y a une toute petite pancarte et aucun avis de la politique par les préposés. On nous crée un compte pour garder notre argent sous forme de crédit. C’est assez normal pour des vêtements usagés, mais pour des produits neufs vraiment c’est du jamais vu. À éviter à tout prix!

Rude and hostile service, even when you get in the store with a smile and a kind attitude. I tried selling 3 reusable bags of clothes with Ralph Lauren, Nudy Jeans and other non fast fashion brand new or barely worn items. They ended up selecting only 2 items even though most of the clothes were conform to the standards they advertise on their website. If you want a better service with less hassle, I’d recommend Eva B.

Si je pouvais mettre 0 étoiles je le ferai, je suis arrivée 5min après l’heure de mon rdv, on a refusé de me prendre mon sac et on a aussi refusé de me reprendre un rdv en boutique. La fille à qui j’ai parlé aurait bien besoin d’une formation en politesse surtout quand elle commence à parler en anglais à sa collègue en pensant que je ne comprends pas. Pire service clientèle, n’y allez surtout pas !

I would give this store 0 stars if I could. My girlfriend and I were treated incredibly rudely and dismissively from the time we entered the store until the time we left. I don't often write reviews but it's rare that I feel so worthless and degraded after leaving a store in which I was a potential customer.

Nice, curated, consignment clothing. They are picky on what they buy, make sure to consult their guidelines before taking an appointment for buying hours. The price point is average/high, but you can find great deals especially with store credit.

I LOVE it here! Wonderful hand-picked curated collection and the people who work here are SO SWEET. It puts such a smile on my face to see them having fun at work. Sabrina and Kaytee were so nice and I was so happy with the coat selection <3

Went to sale some clothes they don't offer much for what they buy. Other then that, they do have some great selections for people looking for second hand clothes at fair prices and the staff is very helpful.

I've found many of my favourite pieces here. I love that I can exchange clothes that I no longer wear for store credit. Staff is super friendly!!! Great selection of natural skin care and perfumes as well.

Thrift shop, you can find a lot of second hand clothing in really good state and with great prices. They also have zero waste cleaner refills that work as a charm. Really aesthetic vibes.

Such a cool store! Can find amazing unique pieces at a very reasonable price! Lots of local Montreal pieces as well! Staff are super kind, friendly and helpful! Highly recommend!

Bad serivice. Big NO if you want to sell items there. There is no transparency on what basis they select items. Rather donate your items by your own.
