DO NOT GO HERE. Quite possibly the WORST hotel experience I have had the displeasure of being in. Firstly the staff are not very welcoming quite simply they want you in your room and away from them they want you to book in and leave them alone because god forbid they have customer service skills when it comes to hotel management. The room i stayed in was musty had what can only be described as a rustic bitter bad taste in the air its smell was bad. With a Worse smell in the bathroom. The TV was tiny and ancient barely could work. The toilet rolls were not stocked up when we first entered our room. The beside table was dirty as were the glasses provided for the also ancient tea kettle. The bed was broken and was dipping in the middle like a U shape. It felt like one wrong move and the bed would break. The futon sofa was also broken. Nothing in the rooms felt fixed, tidy or functional. However the worst part the absolute worst part of this hotel experience is the fact that they fail to mention on their website and other advertised areas that the hotel rooms are situated above a NIGHT CLUB with loud music which makes the walls and floor literally vibrate from the bass and is totally and completely unfair. When I had to get up for 6am and was told it would go until 4am. I went down and complained to 3 seperate members of staff all of which were basically speechless about being able to help. When I told them how completely unfair it was that people have to pay extortionate prices for a terrible room, terrible service and ZERO mention of a night club being attached to the hotel is totally and completely unfair. The lady who was the last staff member I spoke to was quick not to help me but try and prove that their website mentions the nightclub. (I can assure you it doesn't.) The lady also said that the information about the nightclub would be shown on my booking email. Firstly if i knew about the insane idea to have a nightclub under hotel rooms where people are trying to sleep through loud music until 4am i would have never booked in the first place so the fact you want me to book first to find out about your terrible service is insane. And also if the information about the nightclub IS in fact on the website i can guarantee that it will be in tiny fine print that is difficult to find, so that is "technically" there, if that is the case that is STILL totally and completely unfair on everyone who stays here. I mentioned that the info should be much clearer on their website only for the lady to tell me "that's not going to happen", gee I wonder why. This place is a scam. That's why. They scan IDs, they have a cloak room for storage but when i went downstairs to complain the cloak room where people store personal belongings had a large group of people hanging out in there which is not right. The staff I complained to could barely look me in the eye. I was offered a refund for the 2 nights i didnt stay there at the least which I took and booked another hotel that same night and was given so much better treatment and care with no nightclub until 4am to worry about.

If your looking for a cupboard with a bed, that stinks of stale cigarette smoke and dampness, a car park that costs £15 per night (you can’t park in due to lack of space but they still take your £15), a room with not one wall sockets to plug into, noise all night from a pub and corridors, a reception that smells the equivalent of a gents toiled with just urinals, rude staff, dirty bedding, dirty towels, cold showers, potentially bed bugs and expensive rates…. Look no further this is the hotel for you. I never leave reviews for good or bad experiences in hotels or restaurants but this hotel is that bad I had to. I couldn’t allow somebody else make the same mistake I made by booking to stay in dreams hotel for a night. No sockets in the room just the one behind the tv. Therefore to make a cup of tea using the kettle provided (would not recommend lifting the cups provided to your lips) then just unplug the tv and plug in your kettle holding it up until it boils. If I could give it -5 stars I would. I recommended to the girl on the desk to rename the hotel to Nightmare Hotel but I don’t think she understood what I was saying for obvious reasons. Save your money and sleep in your car on a lay-by. It’ll be quieter and you won’t be let down as much as **Nightmare Hotel**

Room was pretty decent, however if you like surprises then look no further. Toilet seats had urine residue and short hairs kindly left behind by previous occupants. The stench from the bathroom was pretty overwhelming to say the least. Avoid lifting the basin tap to the max as you would present yourself to having a trouser accident. Tv and A/C Remotes had mould growing on it. Spent half the night operating the A/C fan which is more old than the building itself. We were not provided with any basic toiletries, i assume they expected us to clean ourself with wipes. A whole bottle of bleech was squirted inside the toilet bowl a but left for us to finish the job. Spent half the morning trying to check out while the receptionist had technical issue with wifi to watch a cricket match. If you fear for your safety then lock yourself in the cupboard until you need to check out as the hotel is surrounded by hooligans. Unsecure carpark fee is more expensive than a flight to europe destinations. should have been included with the total price. Pathetic and no value for money.

WHERE NOT TO STAY. EVER. Barking is not a nice place to stay, and this hotel made it even worse. While we were in a newly furnished & decorated room, there was evidence of a lack of a builders clean, with paint spots on floor & grout dust all over the good sized En suites tiles. We had room door key card issues for 3 out of our 4 nights, requiring a trip down to the whichever rude & disinterested person was at the 24hr desk. Then there's the noise. What they fail to mention here is that it is a hotel/nightclub combo. There is extremely loud music from a full DJ set, right beneath your room. This went on until 4:30 am on Friday & Saturday, but luckily only 2:30 am on Sunday night! The walls actually vibrate and there is no chance of any kind of sleep at all, even with the earplugs we went out to buy. There is an unfriendly atmosphere here, with the hotel, in my view, a side business to the popular Caribbean bar/night club it is a part of.

Loudest hotel i've ever encountered, by orders of magnitude. Hotels with attached pubs can be fine. But when attached pub turns itself into a nightclub at weekends and some rooms are directly above it that is not fine. Posting this review from a nearby ibis hotel as i had to abandon real dreams at 1.30am (which entailed traversing Barking at night, not the safest of areas) after discovering the music wasn't going to stop until 4am probably... Extra £50 seemed worth it just for a chance of some sleep. First time i've ever had to bail out from a hotel in my life. My room was literally vibrating on all surfaces from the bass: following pics from sound meter apps i installed on my phone, nothing else making noise in the room itself. Shame really, as the room itself was fantastic and cheap, with easy tube/train access to central london... But oh god the noise, a hotel room you can't sleep in is pointless.

This hotel is undoubtedly one of the worst I have ever experienced. The cleanliness of the room and bed sheets leaves much to be desired, as they were stained with red marks. The discomfort was further exacerbated by the feeling of the bed springs protruding, making it quite unpleasant. To compound matters, there were bed bugs underneath the bed, despite my complaints to the hotel receptionist. Their response was dismissive, suggesting that I might be allergic to something, which I knew was not the case. I have stayed in numerous hotels before without encountering such issues. On top of that, the air conditioning was leaking and making constant noise throughout the night. This experience has taught me the importance of checking hotel reviews prior to booking. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel under any circumstances.

I stayed here for one night, woke up the next morning put the tv on to get ready to check out, five minutes after smoke started coming from the tv, I went to call the staff, a member of staff came and unplugged the tv, obviously it stopped smoking! He’s reply was that he “didn’t know what to say” I was also told to hurry up and to be out of there by 12pm to allow other visitors to check in to that room, I think it’s wrong and that room should be checked by professionals before allowing the room to be taken! Also I thought that the whole building should be checked before opening again! Who knows the whole building could have gone up in smoke because there was a water leak coming from the ceiling to! Discusted isn’t the word!

Awful hotel, no heating (apart from electrical heater with no pac code) pealing wallpaper, charge for hotel parking which isn't clear, hotel staff work for the adjoining nightclub and often have to wait for them to serve a pint at the bar before they can walk across to take care of you in reception. Hot water timed out in 5 mins. Only food served was Nigerian from the nightclub next door... could go on and on. My wife got sick due to lack of heating and room had cobwebs and was dusty. Room was freezing had to stay with our clothes on for most of the evening to keep warm. Like fawlty towers avoid like the plague

Real Dream Hotel +++++ This is a fantastic hotel for people who don't need any windows and for people with Anosmia (loss of smell). The lack of windows gives good isolation no draft from windows so you won't catch a cold, and it's perfect for people with Anosmia because you can't smell the room at all. It would also suit deaf people as you won't hear the music in the club at the hotel. But the vibrations might be a slight problem, so I recommend downing two shots of tequila before bedtime. It's no breakfast available so it's perfect for people on a diet.

Small rooms, a bit worn. Minor issues: mismatched furniture, small double bed, unmovable TV, shower temperature was hit and miss, mostly miss, either freezing cold or scorching hot. But all those are insignificant against the noise of the extremely loud thumping beat of music from the adjoining club that go on until 4 in the morning. Do not stay here if your intention is to sleep. However must say that the room is generally clean and the staff are very helpful. Real Dreams? Oh to have the chance.

Horrific!!!! We made an official complaint which was just laughed at. It’s extremely unsafe, so loud with the club next door and disgusting. Do not listen to the good reviews only the bad ones are true. This is the worst place I ever stayed. Me and my friend had to check out after one night and didn’t even get a refund for the other night we weren’t there!! Horrendous, disgusting place and staff

Luckily it only cost £50 for the night is all I can say and the reason I'm giving 1 star. The room itself had everything you would expect from a budget hotel and this is not the problem. The walls were like paper, meaning until 3:30am i could hear people talking from next door keeping me awake. Some people arguing in the hallway at 5am and then people playing their music at 7am. I was lucky to get even 2 hours sleep. My honest opinion is try and get yourself a travelodge or equivalent if in Barking.

  • Ellesse Waller

Shocking and disgusting. Music was VERY loud still at 5 in the morning... also fire drill was at 3 in the morning? What was all that about! Not impressed Me and partner was meant to stay for 2 nights first night was poor so we decided to leave instead of stay for the second night did not get our money back for the night we didn’t stay. Staff are all foreign aswell don’t even understand what you say also they are rude and the bed sheets had stains on.. would not recommend this trash hotel

  • bilie gregory

The rooms have no windows and no natural ventilation but they DO have air conditioning which is a lifesaver, except for the fact it made a god awful death rattle every 5 minutes! The noise from the club next door wasn’t as bad as some have said but I think that’s due to the noise the air conditioning was making and the fact the room shook every time someone walked past! I think Josef Fritzl’s basement would have been more comfortable!

Simple & Satisfactory, nightclub very nearby, but didn't bother our sleep, plus the people in Barking in general & the club goers all seemed very respectful & not trouble makers, everyone's just doing their own thing, me & my wife really enjoyed Barking & our stay in the Dreams hotel was absolutely fine, it's not the ritz, but it met our needs for a night stay (TV, double bed, Toilet & Shower, Clean, nice people in the hotel & area).

Are you serious ? They decided to gave me the room next to the reception so next to this f* bar. It’s absolutely horrible. How can I sleep with this ridiculous music ? Super my week end has been ruined because of this hotel! Trust me don’t go there they truly don’t care about us and if you have any recommendations they don’t take them in consideration. Worst place ever

Tiny, unclean-looking and feeling tiny rooms, extremely noisey as it's directly over a bar/club. Basically should only be advertised as a place to crash or end the night after getting wasted down stairs. They also over changed my card by $1000 which even though they ended up refunding, it still took the money out of my account for the duration of our trip. Not really a "hotel" for the average guest/tourist and 2 stars is gracious.

  • Darren O'Connor

I have never stayed at a hotel so bad. The smell of damp.. musty old damp made me sick in the night. No heating apart from a little electric fan which I had to have on all night with the window wide open to get the smell to a liveable state. One double plug socket under a table. Mold and damp residue in the bathroom. The floor in the room felt like it was collapsing. All there interested in is there pub. Sorry but this is shocking

  • Saif Al Hinai (SAH)

Stayed for 1 night during New year's eve. It is ok. Room 90 ft2 mattress bigger than bed. Shower and toilet good size although shower cubicle door too small. A little bit noisy from adjacent bar but manageable. Reception is not rude but could be more friendly and customer service oriented. I recommend first Ibis London Barking or Travelodge.

First parking is very small and has alot of bins around the cars. Second the receptionist was rude and not professional. Third he gave us a room that the door wouldn’t open the room. Area is strange and wasn’t not feeling safe. Fourth room is very stuffy smells of mould, really not nice to breath in. There is also mould on curtains. My stay was not pleasant at all. Fifth shower door is broke?

  • Chaos OAth

Actually not as bad as i was expecting after reading reviews it is a weekday so no loud music. We went into the bar next door and it had a friendly carribean vibe. And the room was clean with a tv and for the price just what you would expect. Area is abit rough looking but is actually just normal london. We had a nandos just down thr road and the staff were brillient and it was lovely.

Very clean, great shower, but thanks to a large air vent to the outside, hardly any sleep. The bar downstairs didn't close until midnight, busses passing all night, and at 6am, people started setting up market stalls right outside. If you want a good night's sleep, stay somewhere else.

Rooms are small, bathroom basic, and walls have splash marks on them but the bed is clean and comfy. The music from the bar can be heard from my room on the opposite side of the building but not overly disturbing. Fire alarm shines a green light all night which is a little annoying but good room for the price
