On three occasions now including bellow comments I have shown my age pension card on the Wednesday discount day, and the girl acknowledged the card but when I get home no discount was put through! The latest was yesterday 14th October 2020! 1:06:52 PM Terminal 4 Mostly Great staff but recently have had some bad experiences! After showing my Age Pension card to a check out operator on a Wednesday when they give a discount. Found later that the discount was not applied despite her acknowledging the card! Then today went through 12 items or less checkouts at 12:15:16 (as per the docket) I was asked if I wanted bags to which I said no (and did not get any) on arrival home the first item on the docket was 10c for a bag??? Felt like going straight back but of course that would have cost me more in petrol. Not good PR people, making me now think twice about going there again! So my review has gone from 5star to 3

very rude staff. the girl at cash register was so rude and a liar, i spent $200 and only able to get 2 free bottles thats fine but when i ask her to swap 1 for a little girl she said no, i went to get the boy in charge that was so nice, she stopped him telling he could not swap the bottle, she stept over his role of a duty manager. if i was him i would report her to the general manager, not the store manager, i dont think after all this bad reviews has done anything to address his staff how to treat customers, i think she wants to be in charge well you lost a customer of many many years. ps. i'm going to write a letter to the general manager the store manager dosn't care, after all this bad reviews all about rude staff, you think he would had resolve the problem but the staff is rude even more.

Staff are poorly trained. The checkout chick packed my groceries. I asked for all my frozen and cold stuff to be packed together. Meat frozen veggies milk ect in my cooler bags separate from my other groceries. And if they could pack my laundry and toiletries in a separate bag from all my food and frozen stuff ect. This checkout chick ended up packing my meat in one cooler bag but then she put rat poison and also toilet cleaning in this bag.she was a terrible packer to where I ended up repacking everything properly. Thing is this girl was tbusy yapping away to another checkout chick. Like seriously how hard is this job even?

The store is nice well maintained and good amount of stock I recently moved from south to hope valley suburb never been to drakes I always go to coles or woollies as drakes is close to my home I have been there today I was asking staff at the counter for points system or card agent was not at all interested in telling me the process she was rushing so I need to just came out with buying groceries without points

Extremely good customer service, especially from a cashier which I recall her name being Rebecca. she was very polite, funny and helpful. I will recommend this store to my whole family! she even called someone to help bring my bags to the car. Also I am truly satisfied with the fruit and veg chaps, always offering to help me out and always washed the strawberries well.

I was really impressed with the selection and the size of the store. You can get a lot of different items and there are very good offers. The deli has a really great selection and there is nice fresh produce. I am visiting this store more than ever now, as it is locally owned and non discriminatory. So proud to go here. Still a great store with very friendly staff

I have been here multiple times as I shop for a local resident. The cashier today either didn't care or has had no training on how to process and pack groceries 2 boxes of tissues don't belong in the cooler bag when chicken cheese and yoghurt was put in the normal bags Heavy items on top of soft fresh bread etc so annoying Some basic staff training is required

I’ve been a loyal customer at Drakes Hope Valley for a few months now, and I will continue to do my weekly shop there. My one year old had a tantrum to end all tantrums this morning, and a lovely checkout operator came and helped me settle her when she saw me struggling. It was so lovely for her to help me and I will be thanking her every week that I see her!

Had the checkout supervisor throw stock after i only asked for one item instead of two. Most of the staff are professional. When i asked how her day has been she said fine. I said you seem a bit upset.? I said hope you have a nice day, she was very abrupt and walked away muttering and shaking her head. Not very professional.

Good store, but a pain in the butt that they only have the full sized trolleys. I have 2 knackered knees & need a trolley for support, but it's not easy getting into the bottom of a large trolley at the checkout when you only have a few items. Please consider stocking the half sized trolleys like the other Drakes stores.

It's ok. Usually a little more expensive than the bigger supermarkets but not ridiculously so. Fruit and veg can vary a fair bit for quality. Range is generally pretty good. Sometimes I feel the deli counter staff are a bit disinterested. You usually don't have long queues at the checkout though. It's our local.

I love coming here. The store us well laid out and there is a great range to choose from. Many of the staff are high school students who are friendly and enjoy a chat. It is important to support S.A. business and with a great shopping experience here i will continue to rate Drakes highly. Well done

Shop here regularly due to being local, honestly some of the rudest unengaged cashiers you'll find. You're lucky if you get even the basic of pleasantries. I would suggest that management is toxic and it shows on the front line. Really an unpleasant experience everytime not just a once off.

Always get a park. Really great shop always clean and tidy, workers are so polite and helpful i wont shop anywhere else. I havent shopped there once and not found what i was looking for, great variety of stock. Never be afraid to ask if you cant find something they are so helpful.

Worst checkouts!! Only one checkout seems to ever be open every time I go there and it is tiny!! The express checkouts are always available, but too bad if you've done a big shop. Please make more staff available and open more checkouts!!

Certain products available here that aren't available at the other major supermarkets. Absolutely love the fact that it's an Australian owned business and there is no Self Service. Good layout and clean. Excellent range of products.

Very dirty floors and smells bad. It is a small store so I don’t understand why they can’t keep it clean. Their vege and fruit section is small and they have rotten fruits some of the days I’ve been here for a last minute shopping.

Best Drake store i go to because they are the only store I know of that still stocks original flavour Rockstar energy drinks in their fridge. Keep up the good work guys, dont let that bloody Coke rep take it off the shelves!!

I asked to talk to a manager and was told they are both gone home and sorry to hear about my problem and to come back when the managers or in and they cannot help me. I only asked a question about the flippers toys

wow wow wow has this place been revamped to a level unseen before offering soups freshly made hot meals and yes even fresh popped pop corn very well laide out has everything and far cheaper than coles or woolies

I was very impressed by the dairy aisle. I asked the nice young man for help and he was able to tell me everything I needed and more. I look forward to coming back, hopefully all staff members are just like him.

Drake's Foodland stores provide a good grocery shopping experience. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is always fresh and of good quality. I choose Foodland because it is South Australian.

Drakes is one of the best quality supermarkets and this one had some of the best fruit at best special prices!! I was surprised to find such low prices at drakes and hope it's not cos of Xmas!!

staff is friendly and helpful. The range of products is increasing. Like many supermarkets, they've increased the height of the shelves which means I can't reach them. Their platters are great.

May not be the cheapest but always friendly with staff happy to find things for you and the checkout is always fast. Parking is close and easy. Thanks for a good shopping experience Foodland.

Have always had excellent service here since moving to the area back in 2002. I especially like calling in to get something for breakfast, after finishing a Saturday morning nigh shift.

Nice clean and well laid out. Parking is a bit hit and miss. Trolleys are good but should have the smaller Trolley separate for the use of the elderly and disabled customers.

Ordered platters for 8:30 and unfortunately they were not ready till 8:50. Platters were fantastic when delivered, will constantly go back just need to be mindful of time.

Bakery is great. Lots of lovely cakes and biscuits home made. Aisles are quite narrow. Good variety of produce. Checkout operators could smile a bit more.

Prices can be high but still a great place with amazing staff members. I'm there regularly for bits and bobs and purchase my smokes here as well.

Good, easy parking - I usually find what I want here - the fruit and veg always seems fresh and lasts well. No long waiting queues at checkouts.
