Douglas Service Station is one of the jewels of the west. We first started coming to see Peter over 10 years ago. My wife said it was a huge relief to find a mechanic who was decent and didn't take advantage of her lack of expertise in things mechanical. We've brought three different cars to him over the years. He's scrupulously fair and goes out of his way to find efficient solutions at the cheapest price possible. One example: I needed to get a roadworthy certificate for my old car. Because he's so popular, Peter didn't have time to do it for several days, so I foolishly went to another garage - UltraTune on Barkly Rd - and was shocked when they quoted me over $1500! I knew that this was nonsense, so went back to Peter and sure enough he did the inspection and carried out the required work to get the car safely up to standard for less than a quarter of the price. I honestly can't recommend his business highly enough.

he is a very good man, my rear passenger door smashed on my garage when I back up and it still open. it's a small damage but the door hard to close and not looking good. I call him and ask for assistant at the last working day in 2015. He did not say other word and just let go to him. Although he is busy, he still find the right model and right color for it. it's been fixed as new. I just would like to say thank you so much peter. God bless you!

Very genuine fellow. Have used him to service my 2000 Lancer twice in the past couple of years. He'll always ring if there is any extra work needed that falls outside of the regular servicing needs. He also has very flexible hours, he's usually in 7.30 and works through to 6pm.

You will not be disappointed, honest quality workmanship at fair prices. Thorough explanations regarding due repairs as well as educating customers on vehicles and maintenance. Not looking for short term gains. Absolutely I'll be back. Cheers Pete

Was recommended by a Footscray local when my head light blew. The mechanic replaced the bulb checked all lights in front of me, found a taillight also needed replacing and charged me $20 for the lot. He was very easy to deal with.

Good enough place for a RWC or general service. Peter has always been pretty quick at turning things around for us but in hindsight, larger repair work should have been sent out to a specialist.

One of the most thorough mechanic I have ever come across. Very detailed and very honest with issues and pricing. The question is... How far will you go to get your car up to 100 working.

Reasonably priced servicing and repair of my car and Peter always manages to get it done for me in time for me to pick my car up after a short shift at work.

Do not go here! My car was better off before I took it here. Had to go elsewhere to have the "repairs" fixed.
