As a fan of Thalappakatti, I recently tried the reopened branch. However, the taste wasn't quite the same, and there's a noticeable difference that deviates from the regular standard seen in other branches. I understand the challenges, especially given the limited seating in a bustling mall. Patience is a virtue, especially on weekends when waiting a couple of minutes for a seat is the norm. Hope they can bring back that signature flavor soon!

Not as per my expectations. Was expecting better due to my past experience of the taste in Chenna India To be fair I asked them to make the food less spicy and they made it plain bland. I ordered chicken biryani, parota and mutton with 2 extra partitas. The mutton was very bony and whatever meat it had was very rubbery. It cost me around 3300 lkr for this meal. The wait time was very high as it was crowded and in fact the only place within ten food court which was busy. Other stalls were relatively empty. It is located in the lower ground floor of the galle face mall and is a shop in shop in the foodcourt. It was difficult to find it as it was not in the mall directory and I would not have found it if I did not call up.

Super super crowded at the counter. Food wise this is one of the best South Indian restaurants. Has a large selection of items for everyone. Established in 1957 and has been in the family throughout. Although the quality of food is great, they really need to improve on the service level. Starting from taking the order to serving it. Things seem to be a big mess when it comes to this aspect. it was very chaotic at the payment counter and the collection area. Cutlery was also not available as they had run out of it, hence had to look for some at the adjoining outlet.

I had a lot of expectations for this place as I am a fan of the Indian Thalapakatti biriyani . My experience here was a total disappointment. The portion was extremely small and was nothing exceptional in taste. The prices are relatively high. Moreover, the staff are not friendly. They charge a large service charge but the food isn't even delivered to the table. I had to make multiple clarifications on where to get the order. They don't even give a tissue or a toothpick. Absolutely pathetic service.

Nice place to have authentic Indian food. Food was prepared and served by Indian nationals. Must try restaurant in Colombo Sri Lanka. Real biriyani taste is here. We’re purchased spc mutton biriyani, chicken boneless biriyani, mushroom paper fry, black paper chicken and spc faluda for us. Biriyani & black paper chicken are very tasty good taste of ingredients Second time we had Peri Peri Chicken and Mutton Biryani that also good in taste Can recommend to visit

This is the newly opened store of thalappathkatti in the one galle face mall. The shop is not that big therefore it is a bit congested after you get seated. They offer a water bottle without inquiring your requirement and if you drink it they charge for the bottle. Recommend the boneless chicken biriyani and the prawns starter plate.

deliciosooo.. mouth Watering.. delicious briyani... I ever had. Dindukal Thalapakatti group is the pioneers in buriyani making. Experts in this field for more than Six Decades. It's situated in the Food Studio of One Galle Mall. Usually crowd here for the high demand. When you make an order at the conter they will give a divice (plz look the photo) and it will notify you when your order is ready. I love it..

We accidentally over ordered for 2 people bus was ar to successfully finish everything. Food is amazing. So tasty and worth the price. We ordered chicken biriyani and ordered BBQ chicken half separately. Turned out there a big chunk of chicken hidden inside the rice. Ritha was really good huge fan. Next time should order egg biriyani and get separate chicken. Portion size of the rice is really big.

-Food Had a boneless chicken biriyani and it was very delicious. Comes with succulent chicken in layers of fluffy rice, fragrant spices and caramelized onions with a boiled egg. It has a truly authentic taste. Highly recommended. -Service They have well trained staff which serves very well and expalins about the food nicely. Plates, cutlaries are very clean. Food presentation is also nice.

Famous south indian food chain - Thalapakatti also have a food stall in the One Galleface Food World. Thalapakatti is a worldwide famous south indian Non-veg Resturant. Their mutton Biriyani is the most famous. I have tried their mutton biriyani, chicken 65 biriyani as well as range of rottys. Truely they taste amazing! If you are a indian food lover definitely you must try this place.

Today went and ordered a chicken biriyani.Extremely dissapointed with the way they served it. There was no cup of rice and served it as like giving to a dog. Very poor customer service and never recommend this place at One gall face

Small outlet in One Galle Face from the same group. Got a comprehensive menu, but not the same as in the main outlet in Colombo. Delicious food, biriyani and naan in my favorite. Reasonable prices. Usually take a time than they are telling you when placing an order. Customer service needs to be improved as time to time things get messed like sharing the wrong orders.

The best place to carve Indian foods in one Galle face is this. And the customer service is good. Self serving is there, so once you order the food they will give an indicator and then you can get your orders by returning the indicator. Mutton and chicken dry curries are best for parotta. Don’t miss to taste these. Worth for the price and the price is also reasonable

We come here quite often for dinner or lunch and from yesterday they increased prices of the food and also adding service charges when it's already self service plus VAT. They don't really know the meaning of what self service is. For food of around 4000 LKR they additionally charged 1000 LKR of service charges plus TAX. Definitely not recommended

Recently tried a kottu and a biriyani. Taste was average and not like before. And served without a banana leave. When I asked for a chicken biriyani they said it is over and gave chicken pieces with mutton biriyani rice. Their customer service is very low. Don't go this One Gall Face branch

If you want the proper thalappakatti experience, with its quality food and ambience visit the bambalapitiya one... If you want rude staff , watered down food and bloated bills , visit the one galeface outlet.. I repeat.. You have no business visiting this one when there's a high quality outlet fifteen minutes away

Today I went to have a BIriyani at OGF Thalappakatti restaurant. Ordered the food at 1.58pm . Waiting almost for 25min no food. Went to the counter to ask why I ask not called or the Machine was not working. No response. Give the food and the food as cold. We came to have a good meal but that didn’t happen .

I can give only 1 star when I compare the value we paid & what we got (Almost double), too much crazy price for the quality, we wait for long time to get a briyani, if you don't worry about the money I absolutely recommend this shop to have tasty food. If I need to rate the foods I can give 5 stars

Ordered and paid for Two Biryanis and requested the Manager to give us just one portion of rice since we didn't want to waste food. He told us to throw it in the Bin. Requested them to give me warm water by buying a bottled water from them and they still refused.

The food and the drinks werr okay. Also the portions are enough. But the problem was in the menu was another price and after i paid then i realized that on the bill was nit the same prices as it is written in the menu. Please be careful before to pay. තවත්

Food is nice and the customer service is also ok but they still need to improve on both areas in the One Galle Face outlet for the price the customers pay. Many items on the menu was not available, hence had to settle for what was available.

I ordered food via pickme, Charged a huge amount for each food packaging but not packed well. Packaging is worst. Poor packaging and service ever

Bought chicken biriyani through uber eats. Its not worth for money at all. Taste is not good. Even the Potion. Don't know how they will treat you in the restaurant. But don't order through uber eats.. Dissatisfied 100%

Best biriyani with enough MSG (mono sodium glutamate ) nicely mixed with chicken stock (Maggie/knor), who ever never had a biriyani in their life this will be awesome

Service is quite scary, took away half a glass of juice, replaced it with another dirty glass of god knows floating in the juice. Will never forget that experience.
