Beautiful sacred Wurundjeri site. Currently the walkway grating is fenced off. Type in Dight Falls carpark if driving here, plenty of parking available and public toilets. The falls are about a 100m walk down - go left downhill, then follow the track to the right past the drinking fountain and shaded picnic bench. Sit, take a few deep breathes and enjoy…

Picturesque waterfalls framed by high, stoney cliffs and eucalyptus trees. There's a little car park which is usually not busy. On the viewing platform you can watch the actual falls and a bit further down the track you can sit by the river to birdwatch and have a picnic. Beware of snakes in the hotter months and don't swim!

Daughter and dad out for a walk. Went back here for the first time in a while. Thanks to Parks Vic for all the upgrade work since the last visit. Easy to walk around and the signs were really informative. Liked being able to walk to the edge of the falls and also see some of the old flour mill ruins. Thanks for keeping them! Really enjoying the peace and quiet and being able to get a close to nature feel so close to suburbia. Thanks again Parks Vic!

Dight falls where Merri creek and the Yarra meet up! I’m lucky enough to be a regular around this area. Main capital trial provides raw and natural views mixed in with the sounds and sights of nature. There’s a wonderful seated area to soak in the peacefulness and also a platformed area to get closer to the falls. It’s a great spot to just chill out, breath and it’s very close to the city!!! Winning

Some relatively small falls with a viewing platform, just a short walk away from the carpark. Dogs are allowed on leash, but in the summer the metal platform gets very hot, and can burn their paws if they don't have shoes on. Lots of cyclists stop here, and there's several walking tracks connected to the falls. A pretty area, with some kayaking spots, picnic benches, BBQs and toilets nearby.

Dights Falls are a nice little falls in the Yarra River. Easily accessed via public Transport (you can easily walk here from Victoria Park Railway Station). Due to the large amount of rainfall we have had in Melbourne in the last few months, the water level is very high, and the lower part of the trail was closed off to pedestrians. There are toilets at the Dights Falls Carpark.

Looking across Dights Falls (silly name) from where the Merri spills into the Yarra, you can see why this is a special place in the traditions and lives of the Wurrundjeri people. Both sides of the river should be explored. And maybe the overlooked Galatea point should be the place to wander into first, just near the Studley park boathouse

  • Janet A

Walked up Merri Merri Creek from the falls up to Heidelberg Road, crossed over the creek and back to the falls. Easy walk on a good path, you can access bush tracks as well. Delightful spaces and vistas. Small carpark at Dights Falls offering 4 hours but street parking is available within walking distance, most likely limited times.

  • Jessica Filumu

The falls itself was under maintenance when we visited but if you keep walking through the boathouse route, there’s a great spot to sit and chill just next to the water! Very relaxing. Great place to bring dogs too!

It's an excellent attraction in Yarra Bend Park, and again, it's so close to the suburb. Perfect viewing platform with easy walk/bike access. The sign gave a bit of historical knowledge. The fall is more like a small dam, but the water is still relatively fast and roaring. Feel very relaxing watching for a while.

  • Paul Richards

I may be biased because I live very close, but Dights Falls (like much of the rest of the Yarra) is a beautiful place in inner Melbourne. I prefer the quieter south side of the river at the falls, although all the facilities are on the north side, and there's no bridge across the river here.

I always really enjoy walking along the main yarra trail and visiting Dights Falls. It's one of those places where culture past and present come together. Such a special place where our beloved Yarra River and Merri Ck join and such rich history for the traditional owners.

  • Julie Nickel

Someone from work told me that this was the most beautiful waterfall in Melbourne so you can only imagine my surprise when I arrived and could not find a waterfall anywhere, only a waterstep. I did however quite enjoy the walking track but still fuming at my coworker.

A historical area of spiritual and cultural significance to the original inhabitants which have been carefully preserved and acknowledged with lovely wall murals. There is a fish 'ladder' as well which is worth checking out.

  • Nick Merrylees

A nice part of the river. Lots of parkland, walking and riding paths. You can ride from the city - mostly along the river. Also ride along Merri creek which connects with the old inner circle railway loop bike path

  • michael ramsay

As a long distance skater i find this to be the pinicle of melbourne with the capital city trail , the merri creek trail , moonee ponds trail , the main yarra trail also close by. And ok for inlines or quad skates.

  • B Collier

Great walking tracks bike riding tracks around Dight Falls. The Falls themselves are impressive but due to works being done we couldn't get as close to them as you normally would. Definitely visit if in the area

It was bigger than I thought it would be. Easy access. We're with people with disabilities and had no problems getting to the falls. Well worth seeing.

  • Annabelle M

Beautiful place to go for a picnic, would recommend walking back to the road via the right pathway - very cool geologic formations on the way back.

  • Greg Slocum

On this day plenty of water rushing over the Weir. This provides rough river conditions which are used by canoeists to practice their skills.

  • Fairly Moon

Very crowded on any sunny covid day. Full of walkers, dogs, cyclists and kids. But still a very pretty sight and you can catch kayakers too.

  • Jinglun L

  • Mason

I beautiful place (as far as waterfalls in Melbourne go), hopefully all the construction and restoration will be done one of these years.

Lovely, safe walk up the river. When water levels are low this waterfall can be small, but after rain it's nice to stand and watch awhile
