From the perspective of a grade 8 student, DWA has all the best opportunities for my future. It is true, this school really does launch all its students on an inspired journey. From amazing teachers and excellent programs to a variety of clubs, world trips, sports and numerous other opportunities, DWA has it all. The staff works diligently to foster good relations with families, making sure each student has what they need to succeed, sending kudos emails, weekly newsletters and blogs, along with so much more. The teachers themselves are extremely supportive and are always there when you need them, and it is very common for students to stay after school, if they need too, in order to understand a concept and prepare for a test. The teachers have various ways to explain a single topic, making it easy and simple to comprehend for every type of learner. Small class sizes have also helped me and my peers exceedingly, as a lower number of students in a classroom equals more individual attention and thus better grades. Questions are answered perfectly and the teachers genuinely have an interest in what they teach, which is rare in so many schools! Individual and group achievements are greatly celebrated at DWA, and each and every student is happy for one another. The school community is strong and the activities we do such as Secret Santa, Intramurals, Multicultural fair, and DWA’s Got Talent among many others create memories that will last a lifetime.

Each semester, each school year, we experience increased and renewed confidence that we have found the right school for our son. The teachers truly care about students - they work very closely with each student, facilitating self-analysis of their styles/strengths/challenges for both learning as well as exam-taking. They coach and empower the students to explore strategies until what suits them is found. Then your child starts to shine with his true colours, bright and proud. There is nothing more exciting and rewarding for your child to experience (and for us parents to witness!) exponential blossoming especially in a previously much struggled subject! And the teachers are just as excited as you are! Individual students' growth and achievements are celebrated with passion, resulting in remarkable levels of self-efficacy. Our son's transformation has been incredible since coming to DWA, and we are excited to see how his educational journey may further unfold. You become part of this big family that this school community is - led by an amazing team of admin team who students develop very special relationship with and families wholeheartedly count on. During one of the toughest times of our family, the school reached out to our son as well as us family with such sincerity, that no words can accurately describe the magnitude of our gratefulness. This school works with you and is there for you, all the way.

Delta West Academy has been wonderful for my daughter. She is now in Grade 1 and this is her 3rd year at DWA. I plan to send our other daughter here in 2017. Do your kids know the names of all the other kids in their school? My 6 year old does. DWA prides itself on small class sizes and a genuine feeling of community. My daughter is doing extremely well academically because there are only 13 kids in her Grade 1 class. Neither of us have to worry about her being left behind in class, not having any friends or even being bullied. Delta West offers kids, and parents, an opportunity to be part of the education process and the school community. I am disappointed by the comments left her by former DWA community parents. Like any reasonable adult, if I felt that DWA wasn't offering my daughter a safe and enriched learning environment, I would enroll her elsewhere. My daughter has been part of the DWA community for 3 years now and I really can't imagine her attending any other school. I encourage you to go meet the staff, administration and the students. Take a tour of this wonderful school. Do not form your opinion of DWA based on website reviews. The overwhelming majority of parents and students love DWA. Go meet them and ask. This is a great school, but don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself!

We enrolled both of our children, and they will be attending Grade 2 and 1 in the coming 2018-2019 school year. Our son started two years ago in Sr. Kindergarten, and we were so impressed with his progress. He's grown so much in maturity, and the school definitely foster's the community spirit. I was amazed that my daughter in Kindergarten was able to say good morning to a boy in Grade 12. Our children have polar opposite personalities, and the school has been able to engage both kids, and we've seen great gains in the areas they were having difficulties in. We really feel the smaller class sizes have helped with this, due to the attention they can get from their teachers. The other parents at the school have been great. The community is friendly and welcoming, since we joined the school. The teachers have been amazing. All the teachers know all the children in the school, even if they don't teach them. The teachers have been prompt when replying to our emails, and have been extremely accommodating when it comes to our son's allergies. The teacher's truly understand how our kids like to learn, and give them the opportunities to thrive at school. We're so happy to have our children attending Delta West, and recommend others to consider this school when considering schools for their child/children.

The only reason why my kids are returning to this horrible school is because they made us believe that most of the school was returning. Half of the students left this year. The admissions director tells everyone is because of the economy ..IS NOT. everyone that left are going to better private schools. The school Administration is by far the biggest joke. They are rude and not welcoming. This year they forced people into fundraising most likely because reenrollment was LOW. Do yourself a BIG favour and don't let them fool you. The positive comments on here and google are from the spouses of the administration team and from parents bringing their own business to the school (uniform providers). They will make you believe that is the best school and sell you the small class sizes; its only because they can't get enough students to fill them up. They will reassure your family that classes will not be split classes, yet when your kids show up to school the first day of class they inform you that your child will be in a split class. Once again do yourself a favour and look for a better school. You might have to be placed on a wait list but only because its a good private school. Delta West Academy is the only private school currently recruiting students. Don't waste your money.

I attended this school years back and see not much has changed from previous reviews. I'm actually surprised this school is still running considering how bizarre their policies and education are and how often they cross the line. Don't be fooled by the small classrooms or other "perks" they offer. DWA couldn't fill larger classes if they wanted to. Ask them how long a typical student stays enrolled in their school, especially in Junior and Senior High. Also, ask how many students they currently have in those grades. You will see that the majority of their students are in Kindergarten - Grade 6, while the higher the grade the less students they have. They force their students to take a number of courses that are not mandatory in other schools and do not make you more prepared for University as they state. They claim they have a high University admission rate, but their graduating classes are tiny! They have even had a graduating class of 1 student in previous years. They are also over-involved in student's private lives and will do anything to ensure your children's return to their school the next year or at least their tuition fees. Please consider other alternatives before sending your children to this ridiculous school.

This is the worst school in the city of Calgary. People need to complete an intense research before wasting their money at Delta West Academy. They have so many lawsuits from former parents, teachers and even builders. They lie to parents and when families leave they find out their kids have not been receiving the best education. The reason why classes are small is not because they promote small class sizes. Its because they cant keep families at the school. Families prefer to attend private school that even though they are difficult to get into they will at least offer an excellent Education to their children and will not treat parents like garbage. Save your money! There is a reason why they are the only private school that has continuous enrollment and many incentives. Once you are in they will make your life a living hell when you finally realize how horrible they are and you try to move your kids.

My son loves Delta West Academy. He has been there since Kindergarten and is in Grade 2 now. The class sizes are small, which some people may question, however this allows the teacher to spend more time with the student if they need help, and it also allows more time for the teachers to do more experiments in a specific topic, or to provide extra activities and give more advanced work if the students catch on quickly. The teacher are absolutely amazing, Very knowledgeable, kind but have high expectations t the same time, they really want to help the children succeed. The other children at the school are polite and kind, the older kids play with the younger ones, there is a lot of respect amongst all the students from what i have seen.

We love Delta West Academy and our son going on his second year has really become engaged with his learning and interest in school and become a avid reader. The teachers are amazing and we love all of the off school and sports learning and robotics and computer class options for kids. We are always updated on what he did in each class each week to help support his learning at home and lots of engagement from his teachers on where to improve and the test with marks come home for us to review. We feel really engaged with everyone in the school from the facility to other parents in the classes. Best choice we made for our son for his learning and growth was to transfer him to Delta West.

“We could not have found a better school for my son in Grade X”. I always believed that my boy had the potential to do better, but he needed an environment that would foster self motivation and instill a sense of responsibility to do better. DWA has definitely provided him with that. The direct communication with the subject teachers provides us with continuous input into his test scores and miscellaneous activities. The young man has a sense of pride in being part of DWA and there is nothing more important than a happy high school student.

We started both of our children at Delta West Academy (DWA) nearly 10 years ago. We then bought a little farm south of Calgary and moved our children into the public education system. That lasted for about a year! We put our youngest son back into DWA and 2 years later he is achieving an over 80 average. This could not have happened without the outstanding academic focus this school offers. Our son's confidence is brimming right now and he feels like he can conquer the world....again. Thanks DWA for all that you have done for our family!!

Our family feels so blessed to be a part of the Delta West Academy community. There are many wonderful things we love about the school, but I think one of the biggest draws for us are the small class sizes and the individualized attention given to each student in the class. The confidence and enthusiasm that my children have developed over years has been so amazing to watch. My kids love coming to school: they never complain about getting ready in the mornings, and they are always happy to tell me all about it at the end of the day.

We have had our son at this school from grade 6 to 8 and he will be starting grade 9 this September. He has really enjoyed the school and in particular the extra sport option and cooking option. He has absolutely benefited from the small class size instruction, although class sizes might be a bit too small for his current grade level. Communication from his teachers back to us has been excellent as well, keeping us aware of successes, issues, upcoming assignments, and on going projects in the class.

Overall we love the warm and small community education environment which foster meaningful relationships. Our daughter receives lots of care from everyone and we definitely impressed by so many teachers knowing her already which helps her to connect and settle in fast. We can tell she enjoys all the new friends she makes. We appreciate the communication received from school and enjoy the dragon blog especially the pictures as it helps us to know what she learned and how she does in class.

My son joined DWA in Grade 2 after many challenges in the public system. At DWA he did a full 180, his grades and behavior improved significantly, and he actually shared his experiences with me at the end of each day (previously when asked what he did during the day he always said "nothing"). He's engaged and happy for the first time in a long time. The small class sizes and great teachers are a huge part in his turnaround, and the school feels like a community more than an institution.

If your family is looking for a school where academics come first with small class sizes, then look no further. My child has only been attending DWA for four months and is already being challenged and learning things he would not have yet been introduced to if we would have stayed in the public school system. The staff are wonderful and my child loves attending DWA. Highly recommend Delta West Academy as a private school in Calgary, AB.

My son has attended Delta West Academy for three years. It’s a lovely school with small class size, committed teachers and thriving children. Definitely a little gem in Bridgeland.
