One of my go to places for tons of softball fun but these last 2 years the homeless and criminal kind have flooded this area on all sides. It is a Zombie land like in a freaky movie but amongst us in real time. As I pulled into the park there was a man blocking the entrance with his car with door wide open while this guy was taking a leak in the road at the park entrance? When I realized it was quite obvious what he was doing and I could not go around him and he had no care in the world I grabbed my phone to take a quick picture, just of the incident not of anything personal. I really despise being negative but when there is so many millions of dollars spent on such a beautiful park for baseball and soccer with so many families around and all this filth and destruction amongst us is just plain sad. I would like to add also I stayed and watched a double header when I was done and left the very dark parking lot I saw a couple of different people wandering around looking through cars. I had asked the man in charge about security and they really have nothing other than an occasional police drive by? I absolutely do not enjoy giving anyone a bad review unless it's deserved I'm not so sure this is such a bad review as it is a Testament to part of what is wrong in our world today. I'm going to miss this once amazing park for sure.
While the park appears to have been cleaned up (didn't see any homeless camps in the part that I went to) unfortunately they have decided to discriminate about what kind of vehicles can now enter. There's no signs anywhere saying "No Recreational Vehicles". However we were there all of 20 maybe 30 minutes before we were told we can't even be there for day use now. We're not from the area, and I've never even been to Portland other than just driving past it. We were only there to let our dogs stretch their legs but due to the homeless people that make it a bad area, they don't let anybody in with an RV now. We had zero intentions on staying there for more than an hour or so but unfortunately we didn't even get to do that. It's surprising they were more worried about us being there than their own saftey. None of the workers here wore high vis vests and one of them was definitely tweaking my dad was a drug rehab counselor for years and immediately pointed him out and said "he's lit!" Hahaha, we also noticed his rear window was busted out ♂️
Dangerous park, especially once the sun starts going down. Rats everywhere from the homeless camp, and tweakers racing around in mad-max like vehicles. One car tailed us onto the bike trail, before driving into the brush on the side of the trail and doing burnouts. Not to mention the abandoned (probably stolen) car dumping area with torched cars. At the very least, don't recommend biking through here. There are way better, way safer parks to visit in Portland.
We’ve been hear a number of times for softball tournaments, and we enjoy being here. The have a great concession stand with a large indoor area to get out of the heat or cold. The bathrooms are decent, but they really need a separate family bathroom to accommodate families and people in wheelchairs. There’s good seating, with a wheelchairs being able to get most places except for the bleachers.
Delta Park is a great place for lots of sports activities. We have soccer games there every weekend on one of the 8 fields. Baseball and softball fields also, public bath, easy access off the freeway and major roads. Fields are well taken care of, no pot holes. Lots of homelessness around, so keep your doors locked.
Huge places for soccer and baseball games. Every weekend has a lot of activities. Parking lots are way busy morning to evening. They have many portable toilets, they have public restrooms but only one spot so many people are lined up long time so portable toilets aren’t bad. Grasses aren’t bad but not a fancy.
Softball fields were pretty good, bathrooms were dirty at facility and no water/concessions. Area surrounding it though is beyond undesirable. Dirty, Garbage everywhere, burned out cars and large homeless population with evidence of drug usage detract significantly from what could be a nicer area
Soccer fields are awesome! Lots of room for parents to sit. Parking can come at a premium but you can usually find a place. Would be nice if there were bathrooms down toward the south end of the facility though. However, they do have a bank of outhouses central to the fields.
Baseball and soccer. Fields are good. The venue could benefit from an easier to find link on its page for field #'s and location. The city does need to do something about the homeless camping. If the wind is blowing the wrong way, it is quite fragrant.
Decent fields ...plenty of parking ...some paved some in gravel I rode my Harley here to watch my adult son play softball and I worried about my bike the whole time with the homeless camp real nearby I wish they had patrols or security on site
The homeless problem is awful in this park and every one warns you about vehicle break ins. It's a real problem and Portland doesn't want to do anything about this, you have watch your ball players and keep them safe.
Me my kids enjoyed multiple softball games here that Saturday with several retired softball team leagues so many people it was really cool. Great time
Family and I went Monday for memorial Day a nice picnic had a lot of fun with the grand babies in the park was nice and clean & quite.
Great space for ball games! Comfortable, easy access, clean, visibility for games is excellent.
Full of homeless people and drugs. So not place if you're into that stuff .
Seems concession stand is always out of what the people want.
Great place to take your fur baby for a nice walk and run.
Great venue for softball!
