After my timing chains had snaped in my vz commadore i was recommended david vaughan autos in corydon for fitment of a replacment engine by the engine suppliers commadore wreckers in furntree gully i found out yesterday thet the engine was full of oil leaks and that the thermostat housing had been spot welded and glued together with silicone i had lost a lot of oil and coolent after calling the shop this morning they said that its not there problem and to call the wreckers when asked if they known about any of the damage he replyed "that it was not his problem we were payed to put in an engine and we did it " i would expect a shop if they found a problem or saw that the engine was fulty to have said somthing befor fiting or to look for oil and coolent leaks after repairs i am very disappointed in the lack of client respect and workmanship i would have been happy to pay the extras to have parts replaced or a better engine sourced by the mechanic if they whould have said somthing

This mechanic was recommended to us by a friend... Some friend! I left my car here for a basic service, pretty sure they didn't even look at it - it was parked the same way I had left it on unusual angle touching a bush... The book wasn't filled out, and no itemised receipt was given. Just a sticker on the windscreen saying that it was due for its next service in a month(?) - clearly not paying attention. They were very brief with me when taking my money - I felt like I was being taken advantage of because I was female. My partner took their car in 2 months ago, the problem with the belt seemed worse not better afterwards - they said the noise was unavoidable. We've just taken that car to a different mechanic today and they're telling us that lots of things seemed to have been left unattended and that the noise isn't right. Definitely not going here again!

Took my car in for a roadworthy and was told it would cost over $6000 to fix what was wrong with the cars engine and aparently the car was full of rust and the engine mounts were rusted...I took it to another mechanic a day later and they told me the engine mounts were in decent condition and not rusted at all and there was minimal rust on the vehicle just surface rust....it also only cost me a significant amount less to get it roadworthied they dva had quoted me...very unprofessional and clearly just trying to RIP people off...I would not recommend them at all.. if I could give no stars I would

My neighbour (who is a retired mechanic) recommended David Vaughan Autos to me about 6 years ago. A Mechanic's mechanic! Since then, I have taken my 1999 Corolla (last car) and Kia Rio (current car) there consistently. Work is done promptly and it has always been good I am always kept fully informed. Prices seem reasonable and I love that they don't try to push extra work out of every job. If you ask for a recommended mechanic on any of the Croydon social media pages, you'll be given a variety of names....but the one most frequently given is David Vaughan Autos.

Rang early Friday morning with some pressing issues and was told to bring the car down and they'd have a look at it if time permitted, due to the xmas workload. Was fully expecting to have it off the road into the next week, but was called later in the day to say that the main issues had been rectified and other issues dealt with whilst there and that it was ready to go! Professional, prompt, friendly and down to earth....can't fault them and would highly recommend to anyone!

Have been bringing my car here for years and am so appreciative of the service every time. Even when I have a small issue they’re happy for me to take it to them to have a look and fix it free of charge if it’s a quick fix, being a girl I used to worry about being taken advantage of when taking my car to a mechanic because I don’t typically know much but they have always treated me with respect and honesty. Had a fuel pump replaced in my car which then when I got it back the car was giving me a false reading which means the sensor was not replaced properly or damaged! As I bought this up the mechanics denied fault because of his concern "an expensive fix" well you shouldn't have broken it in the first place!! will not be back! poor effort from these guys.

My husband and l haven’t had a good experience with servicing our cars. Have been going for a few years but are about to change to someone else. He doesn’t do what you ask him to and didn’t even refill my oil properly at the last service. Just does the very basics, so my car hasn’t been running well. I can’t recommend this business.

For decades went to my auto mechanic because he was always there when I needed him, and boy did I need him. The entire family went to him, 5 cars in total. I was in shock for 3 months when he retired. Thank God, and I do count my blessings, I found David.

Very reliable and didn't have to wait long either I was recommend by family member and I wouldn't go anywhere else I got told by another mechanic that I had a major problem but it cost me $140 for part and Labour so I recommend David Vaughan for honesty
