I've been a customer of Commerce for almost 15 years. There are too many reasons to list all of them for the 1 star. But let me just say that after hearing one of their employees tell me after so many problems there that I should leave and find another bank, I guess that's all I need to write. I mean just trying to add my wife as a joint account turned into a several week ordeal. She STILL can't deposit her payroll checks yet and she's been added already. Be prepared to be told no a lot. My wife said they were very rude at other branches and thats saying something cause she likes everyone. It didn't used to be this way they were awesome a while back. I hear great things from UMB customers and intend on closing my account here as soon as possible. If you like Bank of America you'll probably like Commerce now. Sad cause I've been there so long but obviously that means nothing. People know me there after 15 years and still couldn't do certain things cause their hands were tied with all the new red tape and company polices. I highly recommend a different financial institution.

My recent visit to this branch left me deeply disappointed. I rarely resort to leaving reviews, but the lack of assistance I received from my bank teller today left me feeling disheartened. As I was preparing for my first ever solo European trip, I needed to obtain foreign currency. Accordingly, I approached the teller to get assistance. As she proceeded to explain the procedures for obtaining foreign currency, I visibly struggled to comprehend the details of the process and kindly asked for advice on the optimal course of action. My teller's response was one of impatience, curtly remarking, "We can't tell you how to spend your money." Her inability or unwillingness to provide any meaningful guidance was both frustrating and disconcerting. I sincerely hope that in the future, other customers who require this branch's assistance during an inherently stressful time receive more compassionate and thoughtful treatment.

I have never been so disgusted by the laziness to find out simple answers. They definitely will not go out of their way to help you find out the correct answer. They hire unqualified folks to work in very important (or at least they used to be) positions. I had to sit there and have the branch manager read out of her book the differences in what the different savings and checking accounts were when helping my daughter open an account there. This company is a shell of what it used to be. I left the feedback on this location because this is the place of the latest situation but they are all the same. Best part of their day is getting the door unlocked and then locking again at 5. I am not sure where to go anymore if you want good advice on money, but this would be the last place.

These people are the worse. Everything was fine as long as you had money in the account but as soon as your money got low there were some difinite problems. They have some "condition" your account goes in after X amount of over draws that no matter how much money you put in it will take 7 business days for it to hit your account. By the way they don't notify you when your account hits this mysterious "condition" until you deposit your money. By the way, even after you money has been deposited you will still receive over draft fees based on your account balance BEFORE the money was deposited so they can maximize the fees for you automatic ACH payments. Don't fall victim like I did be careful where you put your money everybody

DO NOT USE THIS BANK!!!! The worst bank I have ever been to. My daughter totalled out her car so I got checks from 2 insurance companies because there were two separate claims. The first one I got from Farmers insurance and the bank had to have varification and that took a day. Next day Friday 1 March I took the check in signed and it was to be added to my loan. They claimed they mailed it on Monday 4 March and as of Thursday 7 March no one knows where it is. American family insurance mailed there check Tuesday 5 March and it's already on the account. Incompetent people to say the least. I will be looking for legal action if the check isn't found by Monday 11 March.

Their hours are so inconvenient and they don't actually post a number for the branch. Both lead to bad customer service because the 800 number no one can handle every task, they bounce you around between departments and guess what, for some tasks you have to call the branch! This bank needs an overhaul, they're years behind their peers. Considering moving my car loan elsewhere, it's too difficult to pay it down. edit: in response to their response, on that page all the branches near me share the same two phone numbers which points to the national phone system. They gave a link that doesn't say what they think it does.

I took in 5 bags of coins to have counted and deposited into my account on 08/09/2017. So far only one bag of coins have been counted and deposited into my account. I called the Barry Rd branch at the two week mark and was told that they have to transport the coins to the main branch, the main branch has to count and roll the coins, then the main branch transports the coins back to the Barry Rd branch so they can deposit them in my account. They said this takes time and that the bags may not be processed at the same time. Apparently they can only process one bag a month. I am ready to switch to a new bank.

Barry Road branch... absolutely the worst service!! I wrote a check with sufficient funds and they returned the check!! Said my signature did not match!! I wrote the check... it was written to a friend of mine who told me that the check was returned... what a total embarrassment!!! My friend was charged a $15 fee!!!! They are NO help what so ever!!!! I have had my account there for 28 years!!! I am Houston Texas in a flood and unable to get out!! No compassion for anyone!!! DO NOT BANK WITH THIS COMPANY... WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.... EVER!!! Thanks Debbie for NOTHING!

Just got very poor customer service at the Commerce bank on Barry Road In KCMO. Didn’t lose my card but misplaced it at home. Waited and searched for a month.., til I really needed some cash out. She said she couldn’t make me one that it had to be mailed??? I knew that wasn’t true because a few months back my card wouldn’t work in their atm so they simply made me another. I guess the difference was that was their fault and this was mine. So much for customer service. This is not over…. There are letters to be written

All but one of the people who work here are very rude. They could at least say good bye or have a nice day but they don't even try to be friendly. I walked in there one day and they were telling me about a business account that isn't mine, I don't even own a business. They thought I was someone else. It's a shame because it's the closest location to me. I never have any problems at other Commerce Bank locations.

They are awesome! I opened my new accounts. They got me in without an appointment. My accounts were set up the way I needed them to be. They were extremely polite and thoughtful! She sent me a thank you letter thanking me for opening up my account and congratulation me on my engagement and new home. Such wonderful service! Thank you Stephanie! You did a wonderful job!!!!!

I like Commerce Bank. I have been with them for many years and have always found good service. It isn't one of those huge impersonal banks If you regularly go in the bank, the staff usually recognize you. I think this makes a big difference and is what I prefer when utilizing these institutions.

Absolutely horrible customer service. Branch manager and financial advisor neglected to help and inform my elderly parents of the proper steps to take that is resulting in my parents losing thousands of dollars. I would avoid this bank, and Commerce Bank in general, at all costs.
