I urge you not to do a walking tour with Colombo walks. The guide spent so much time rambling in an almost inaudible fashion about his old job, his family life, and his opinions on Sri Lanka with little to no facts, and when he did say anything factual it tended to be slightly wrong or made up. In the first half an hour we visited a plaque in a car park and a foyer of a Chinese restaurant to look at some old photos of Colombo. It was a real moral dilemma for us but we walked away after this point, with 1 day in Colombo we did not want to waste 3 hours. We then spent the day ticking off things on a map, the main Colombo sights are easy on foot with the help of a couple of tuk tuks. Oh, and he was 15 minutes late to the meeting point at the start. Basically don’t bother with this company. Cheers

Harold, our Guide for the walking tour was just amazing and extremely well informed. You could ask him any question about Colombo and Sri Lanka. Really enjoyed the 4 hours tour in a small group less than 10 person. You will learn many about Sri Lankan history like the different colonial times with the dutch, portuguese and the british. But information about the present time and living with many different religions like buddhism, islamism, hinduism, jehova's witnesses, bible followers, .... all living in peace !!! are given.

We had a tour with Harold and it was worth doing so. The best tour so far because it is more than a tour. He walked us around Colombo discovering inreresting soits linked to the history of the country. Harold is a local who has studied and lived abroad so his knowledge and passion for the country is perfectly adapted to the curiosity of any foreigner. We chose a walj through the city but he has other cultural tours as well, with private cars for instance.

It is an absolute shame that google only gives 5 star rating, as I would give them 10 if they were available. Harold, the owner and tour guide extraordinaire, knew so much about the history of Sri Lanka that it felt like he lived 500 years. We started at the Dutch hospital, travelled through time and space, ending near the Red Mosque and spice district. We saw all sides of Colombo and now feel the need to return! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We enjoyed the walk by Harry, he had a lot of interesting information to share. He told details about Colombo in an approachable way. We really enjoyed having a break for some iced tea at the Grand Oriental hotel. We also enjoyed the break for local Samosas and fish pies. Harry was also very personal and considerate.

The tour was a great idea to get a feeling of the city and the history of Sri Lanka. Haral the person in charge to do the tour was extremely helpful and prepared. He took us to places we would never reach by ourselves. I highly recommend this experience.

One of cool and calm place for a walk, hangout with friends or with your partner. Great restaurants around the place lots of buildings are there and most are historical locations as well. It'll be a great experience anyone who visit here.

Excellent tour with a guide that knows really much about the history and the more of-the-beaten-track places within the city. Quite expensive, but he took his time for the tour and was really flexible. Highly recommended!

Open area with some seating available. Good place to hang out if you don’t mind the perpetual horn-blaring traffic on the road next to it.

It's kind of like the central business district if Colombo. It's pleasant to walk around. It has some nice colonial style buildings.
