I hesitate to write a poor review because I want to say upfront that the workers themselves were professional, courteous, and extremely hard working. I do not want this review to sullen that impression. When I called to discuss the job (moving from a 1 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom apartment in the same building but up 3 floors without an elevator) I was told how the Hunks are fully insured. I had clarified of that meant that if an item was damaged we would be compensated the cost to replace, which I was told yes. The truth is that they are insured but pay out the minimum required by the state: $0.60 per pound of the damaged item. This policy is intentionally deceitful to their advertising and what I was told on the phone. In the course of the move a utility cart was broke, something purchased this year for $80. Given that it is lightweight (the entire purpose of the product), I have been offered $6 for it. $6 will not replace the damaged product. I am thankful that my brand new TV wasn't dropped because I'd likely have been given $20 for a $2000 TV. If they had been upfront about the insurance policy (instead of being told they would reimburse in an amount to replace the item), I would have gone elsewhere or purchased and independent moving insurance. The hunks themselves were great in a professional-sense, but require more training for safe moving. I fully acknowledge the difficulty of this move, having to carry a ton of heavy stuff up 3 flights of stairs. However, a handful of things and boxes were dropped. There is a lot of scratches and dents throughout the hallways and apartment from them. They did not come fully prepared with the tools advertised and we had to use one of our own dollies (which I almost didn't bring, but glad I did). To save money and avoid the more sentimental fragile things from being broken, we elected to finish the last bit of the move to ourselves and sent the Hunks home. In the end I paid nearly $800 for this service. All of this I was willing to ignore, because I get that it's a tough job and I didn't want any workers faulted for it, but the dishonest insurance policy is what pushed me over the edge to leave a poor review (I consider 3 stars a poor review). After expressing this multitude of concerns with the company, I have been offered $25 reimbursement. I will not be hiring them for my next move.

Movers showed up 2 hours late from scheduled time. The individuals never took any measurements and despite my advice of how to best move the item, which I had already measured they did what they wanted. Their recklessness caused damage on my walls and door trims. Tried to find a resolution with Franchise owner who stated that their paperwork was solid and they were not liable. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone that wants their items treated with care and that expects a professional service. In response to your reply. I wouldn’t have any problems with the damages had your employees caused the damage by following my instructions and had I not provided the appropriate clearance to move the item. My problem is you trying to hold me to a waiver signed PRIOR to the work and then your employees doing whatever they thought was the best option despite me telling them that the large box wouldn’t fit through that door because I had already measured. They wouldnt know because they didn’t even show up with a measuring tape. I told them that the item needed to be moved on its side to have enough space, and they totally disregarded my requests.

My move went really smoothly! I was moving from a ground floor apartment into a second floor apartment about 20 minutes away. My team arrived on time and did a walk through with me before starting to discuss what would go on the truck, vs what would be loaded into my car instead. I had multiple bookshelves, cabinets, a dining table, a queen sized bed, and a bunch of boxes. I had packed almost everything and disassembled furniture ahead of time, so it was mostly loading and unloading the truck in my new complex. Jeremy and Sebastian got it done even faster than I was quoted and on a brutally hot day. They made sure everything was taken care of and made the whole process really easy. I had a few particle board pieces get scraped up or show paint transfer, which the team was up front about in terms of coverage. The only reason I'm docking a star was because I think some of it could have been avoided with additional packing quilts between pieces in the truck. Overall, the price was perfect, the service was great, and I would recommend them and use this company again in the future.

I hired them to help in loading for a long distance move. They were scheduled to arrive between 12 to 2 pm. They didn’t show until 3:30 pm and that was after I made 3 calls. It threw our move off as we needed to hand in our keys to our apartment by 6 pm. During the loading they dropped my sofa, broke my filing cabinet, and split the legs on my coffee table because they rolled it on the small wheels on the legs, that weren’t designed to roll on concrete, instead of carrying it. When we got to our new home we discovered a lot of smashed boxes and poorly packed truck. I would have canceled them if we weren’t in such a time constraint. I was sent a link to their site to review and even though I told them everything that happened, they ignored my response. I highly recommend NOT using this company. They hire incompetents who don’t care about your time, money, or personal items.

We hired this company to help my mom who is wheelchair bound, move her apartment this past weekend. What appeared to be friendliness was not the case at all. We had a family table broken, which was forgiven in the moment as an accident. Today we have realized that my mom’s Mac laptop is missing and was taken out of her PACKED AND SEALED belongings that was moved by the College Hunks. VERY disappointed in this company and will never recommend or use them again. Please be weary of the movers that they send you. Along with that, please know that corporate and their contact numbers are not reliable. We have had offshore “help” today that has gotten us no where. We are taking a heavy hit with just how much we paid, tipped, and now have lost my mom’s one computer that contains all of her personal and volunteer information.

I had an appointment window for 12:00 to 2:00 during the week. I left work and was there at 12:00. Once 2:00 rolled around and I never heard from anyone, I called and was told they would call to update me. I waited an hour and never heard anything so I left and went back to work. I called again and was told it would be about 30 minutes. He also asked if he could use my cell phone charger. What? They arrive and tell me that instead of $109.00 to remove a king mattress and box springs, it was actually going to be $260.00 because it would take up 1/3 of a 16' box truck. What? I explained that we moved them in a Forester and I was given a range of $109 to $160. He rolled his eyes and told me that he hears it all the time but it is going to be $260.00. I told them to leave. Thank you for wasting my time.

The move went well. Afterwards, one of the employees misinformed me about the $95 hold. He told me multiple times it would go back to me. So I decided to tip more based on that information. Turns out, he was wrong. I tried for months to contact someone. They ignored me for the most part and acted like they would do something about it. Finally, 4 months later, their response is, "well, the employee is no longer working here." I guess that makes it ok that he lied Edit: I called the number that the owner responded with and they said that their franchise has a note in my account that they cannot refund the money. I tipped $120. It's silly because I only asked for $60 back of my money. You think $60 would be worth me spreading the word of how good of a company they are...

Can’t trust this company for a stress free move. Made my appointment a week again, they confirmed with me yesterday. Waited all morning for no one to show up, yet my appointment online said it was confirmed and completed. No one ever called me to confirm/or let me know there was a delay. I called them the first time, they said someone would call me back in a little bit, waited another 30 minutes, no one called. Called back and they weren’t sure why no one showed up. They asked if I could wait a little longer, and told them “no we cannot wait all day. That is why we made an appointment.” We are moving in less than a month and was really hoping to have them as our movers, but I would not even recommend them to anyone.

The whole experience with college hunks moving was easy and removed a major stress from our move. I tried to get quotes from other moving companies and the hunks are the only ones that answered the phone the first time. Once I got my quote the price was very affordable. The day of moving my crew consisting of Coal, Evan and Jonathan arrived on time with all the necessary equipment. They were not only incredibly fast but also were delicate enough with all of our possessions. The crew nailed the estimated time and cost with no surprises in fees or damaged goods. I will never move myself again. We will use college hunks for every move we do in the future and would definitely recommend them to anyone with moving needs

We hired the College Hunks to move large furniture that we had purchased from a friend’s house to our storage unit. The scheduling was easy and communication was timely and clear. They showed up right on time at the pick up destination and did a great job protecting the furniture. Everything went smoothly - the price was high due to the 2 hour minimum and separate fees for labor vs the truck, but all in all they did a professional job and made it look easy. This was work I couldn’t do myself, and we are grateful for your responsive, polite, straightforward service!

My experience with booking and having my stuff move was incredible. It was very professional and all my items were handled with care. The two guys were very nice and accommodating. Even though it was really hot this weekend, both guys were still eager to help me move my items. They also helped me with moving things to my car. I would definitely recommend this moving company, which I have to a colleague of mine who has booked them for her daughter for next month. The price was reasonable and I also tip both guys 70.00 a piece for their time and effort.

This was my first big move and I was pretty anxious about it but Taylor and EZ were simply amazing from the get go! They were very flexible and understanding and made the move so much easier on us. I am definitely going to stick to College Hunks for my future moves and ask for Taylor and EZ personally. Their rates are pretty reasonable and the final pricing came down by a lot compared to the initial estimate because they got the job done really fast and efficiently. They got here on time and went above and beyond to satisfy us.

Very mediocre service. I booked with them about a week and a half in advance and didn't hear from them until they called to confirm the day before. I missed their called and returned the call but never heard back from them. I booked them to arrive 8am - 10am range on Saturday. I called at 9:30 on Saturday as they hadn't shown up and received no response. They finally arrived at 10 am so I was less than please with the late show up. Pretty pricey, too. I will shop around next time before considering their services again.

I thank God for Elijah and Jeff who represented College Hunks Hauling company with the utmost valuable, professional, efficient, and reasonable service ever. I needed furniture moved out ASAP today. From the time I called to the time of the completed work being no more than 2 hours! They were communicative, explanatory, and honest about what they could do, the expected time of arrival, and what I could expect from them. I highly recommend this company, and specifically Elijah and Jeff for any of your moving needs!!

I used college hunks to come and remove some unwanted furniture that I no longer needed. The guys were running way ahead of their schedule, contacted me to see if they could come earlier to which I agreed. They showed up and were a couple of very respectful, business like young men. They came in and got right to work removing the furniture paying special attention not to damage anything on the way out. They quoted me a very reasonable price for the removal and would definitely utilize their services again.

Luke and Tim were absolutely amazing!!! They took care of everything for us! This is the first time I've experienced this level of professionalism and genuine care during a move. They were punctual, took the time to explain everything to us and ask us what our specific needs were and then proceeded to get the job done. Coal, Jade and Will were amazing! They were on time, polite, experienced, pleasant, strong and friendly young men. This was my first time using professional movers. I have heard horror stories and wanted to avoid any unnecessary problems. My move took 4.5 hours and I made a local move 5 minutes away. Absolutely amazing experience from the three hunks I had today. Honestly, its been good from the first phone call I had with the company. I have been more than happy with the help I received. They made this very stressful process so easy. I can not recommend them enough! I will definitely be using them in the future. I was estimated a 6 hour move and the hunks got it done in under 4. Nothing was damaged in the process. Literally incredible and I'm so happy with everything!

Three young whippersnappers showed up and cleared my entire garage of trash in 30 mins. I did however find out at the end if I wanted to tip them it was cash only. I feel this should be in the transaction process something that says tips are appreciated but not required … and a line to add a tip. I felt terrible even though when I said I had no cash to tip they told me it was totally fine. Other then that service is great and would use them again if I needed to

We were so pleased with College Hunks Moving! Sebastian, Juju, Deshawn, and 2 other gentlemen who had finished another job and pitched in to help were all wonderful!! They worked our move in on short notice, and kept in good communication throughout the entire process. Even though it was toward the end of their workday, they worked efficiently, carefully, and with a cheerful attitude! Thank you, College Hunks Moving, for making a very busy day go smoother!

Although they arrived late they were very courteous and quickly hauled my junk. Very nice young men. I used College Hunks to do my move on December 2. They arrived on time actually a few minutes early. It was a crew of 2 Hunks and they were very professional and took great care of my things. They had me moved out of my apartment and into a storage unit in under 2 hours! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND College Hunks for ALL your moving needs or to haul away your junk.

My movers were fantastic, and were very quick and friendly. They did kindof bang the walls here and there of my old place/new place while moving things out, but I’m realistic and sometimes no matter how careful you are, those things happen. But they were fast and I know that happens sometimes. I’m still overall very satisfied. Out of the 6 places I called, College Hunks had the best pricing. And I would both use again, and recommend them.

They were 2.5 hours late, which they said was due to a previous job that was larger than expected. They were courteous and efficient but there was not enough room in the truck to fit all of our stuff. We had to move out that day, so we were forced to leave a chest of drawers behind. When the appointment was made, the guy estimated that our stuff would take up 7/8 of a truck. But when they arrived, their truck was already about 25% full.

Great bunch of guys that came and picked up the two TVs that I had. Nice friendly and professional. Quickly loaded it up and went about their day. The customer service that I received from the corporate office was amazing. Alexandria was very kind and professional, initial follow-up was with a text and then a brief phone call with no pressure at all! Very enjoyable experience all around. Definitely will use in the future if needed.

I requested the young men at College Hunks give me an estimate and come to my home to pick up a large TV cabinet. They arrived promptly at 8 am and were very safe and efficient as they moved the item into their truck. They were courteous, respectful, friendly and helpful and I was 100% satisfied with the price for their service. Tim Sims and Lamar Hopkins We’re an incredible team. I had 3 level home that was moved. They worked fast never stopping. They also has skills to move the heaviest things I was impressed on how they worked. Very nice and cared. They had to take apart some larger furniture and they put back together every screw. My mom and sister used college hunks in Florida so I decided to give a try. I will request these two EVERY TIME!

I chose to give this company a try after reading some very good reviews on Yelp. I am so glad that I did! They sent me a few emails making sure that I knew what to do and what to expect which I appreciated, they called me 2 days before to remind me and 30 minutes before they showed up. They were on time, very polite and extremely helpful! Next time I move I will definitely use them again, highly recommend!

I got completely ghosted by this company. Sent an entire inventory of all my things to an employee with the initials CA in hopes of getting a quote and never heard anything back. Call to follow up multiple times but the phone number goes to a call center and the locations are franchised so all they could do is send a message to the franchise and hope that they would get back to me which they never did.

These gentlemen were the best and worked really fast. I needed to have some carpet padding hauled away. They were very prompt in their arrival, moved a heavy television so I could retrieve the carpet padding underneath it, and hauled everything away within 15 minutes. They were very professional and provided great customer service. I will be using them in the future for all of my hauling needs!

We couldn't have been more pleased! Those guys worked so hard! It wasn't an easy move (moving from a 2nd story apartment to a 3rd story condo and no elevators at either location). Luke and Tim were absolutely amazing! Hard working, efficient and as pleasant as they come! My basement became a waterlogged mess from a sump pump going bad. These guys had my soggy basement junk completely cleared out in about 3 hours. I will be calling again in spring to rid the garage of that mess! Simply fantastic experience all around! Such great movers. Worth every penny. The two guys I had Zach (missed the other guys name) were so efficient moving out of my house into my new house. They often picked up very heavy items just by themselves so they could move items faster.

Our two helpers were great. Had to move heavy queen sized motorized platform up an L shaped stair case and down a narrow hallway. Even managed to get more done than I originally expected. Definitely would recommend.
