Genuinely shocking. I will not be shopping there ever again. I go in there every other day and recognise the staff. Twice the older man has dug me out despite me buying alcohol many times and with my girlfriend he never IDs me. He digs me out over my ID. He claims it isn't real because it has a chip in it. The second time I'm buying flowers and a bottle of red wine - would I honestly be using a fake ID for that? I ask him to tell me what is wrong or fake about the ID. He can't and won't do it but calls his supervisor to try and give me a dressing down in front of the queue of people. Twice this happened despite them recognising me. I'm 27 year old with a valid driving license not an 18 year old with a fake ID buying bottle of spirits. I also offered to show my debit card, credit card, student card and business card. Absolutely shocking, rude and arrogant. Will not be shopping again. I think the staff should actually get sacked over treating a regular customer in there like that TWICE. Appauling.

At first I wasn’t too sure if the members of staff were just having a bad morning. However this is the fourth time this week that I’ve had to remind them that their sign says it opens at six, however normally open by about quarter past six. This is no good as I commute to London daily so don’t even have the chance of buying a drink before I get on the train. Not sure if the staff need to go on a training day or just simply need to learn how to read the time. Today at ten last six all the staff were standing outside having cigarettes and the rollers for the shop wasn’t even open! Totally useless.

Update: It seems this particular store is robbed several times a day by idiots who think they're being funny. I've left the original review below on the off-chance that someone with authority sees it and realises the effect it has on public perception and could implement some security measures. Old review: Convenient location but they seem to restock the shelves every two days or so. I don't know if it's the lack of storage or infrequent deliveries but the are regularly batches of empty shelves all over the place.

AVOID - Covid risk I went into this shop today 05 August 2020 and while the staff are wearing masks most of the customers were not. There were no reminders or announcements and the staff didn't do anything about it. I guess the co-op does not care because when the next lockdown comes they will be allowed to stay open. Given the risk of catching Covid from the maskless idiots ignoring the law my family will not be returning to this store.

I use the Coop on demand delivery a fair bit for bits that I need and it's gone from romford to the upminster shop for fulfillment. Absolutely useless. Nothing but issues always things missing or damaged. Last 2 times resulting in full refunds and complaints. Never answer phone. They confirm what's been picked but never give it to the driver. Worst Co op in the area.

Orderd £20 pounds off snacks at 9 o’clock ,said would deliver,then changed deliveries times ,so waited another hour then changed times again ,then said sorry we can’t deliver now ,waited 2 hours to be told this ,absolutely awful,then said I would get a refund ,which I never received,will not order or get anything from this place again !!!

Be careful with meal deals - identical food which counts as a meal deal in other Co-op stores does not count here, despite being marked as meal deal. Consequently you pay the maximum for each single item. When I questioned it they were dismissive. Will not go there again.

Decent little shop, with good alcohol and food selection for a convenience store. Yes it's a bit more expensive, but it's open long hours, has free parking and an ATM. No issues with staff at all, despite the other reviews - I've been coming here on and off for years

Sugar snap peas from China? Surely you cannot be serious....(and don't call me shirley) Staff regularly chatting on their phones whilst serving Saturday morning and half the vegetable shelves are empty. Very poor show all round really

Nice little corner shop. They have all the essentials like bread, milk , eggs, butter and so on. The self checkout is only card and there isn’t always somebody at the till so you might have to wait for a bit. Very cool.

I bought several times tomatoes, apples and strawberries from the co-op and they all smell of perfume or dangerous solutions. This store should be reported because the smell of the fruit is extremely dangerous.

The shop is supposed to close at 23:00 but as I arrived there tonight at 22:40 the shutters were already half way down. It’s clear that this shop has very bad time keeping with their opening and closing times.

check your receipts multiple times they double charge me and i have to go back for refunds! if you talk too much too them it distracts them and then over charge you! so expensive in there too

High prices to cover the cost of the rampant shoplifting that goes on. Spend your money somewhere that the management/company care to protect their staff and customers.

Very polite, and courteous staff who went out of his way to help me find and get more value for money when I purchased some fruit pastels today.
