I've only been in CJ once, and maybe this was an off day. Despite being the only person in the store, the three staff members gave the distinct impression that I had no business interrupting them. What should have been the very simple business of getting booked in for a sizing was unnecessarily complicated and unwelcoming. The whole experience was dripping with haute societe "huff huff huff", which may be what CJ shoppers want. Which is all good but for my tastes I ended up going with a competitor where the lone staff member was engaged, engaging, to the point, and down to earth.

The salesman didn't know the product he was selling, he had to ask another associate who wouldn't give us the time of day. Instead we went to Halley's on Wellington and bought a Coppley $1,100 suit with superb service. Don't waste your time at Chris James, if you are looking for a quality suit head straight to Halley's.

as someone who lived in the big city for 20 yrs, chris james is the only place i have found in kingston that can provide stylin' men's clothes and quality suits, that compares. this isn't walmart or the gap. if you want some nice brands, and a fresh professional look, this is where you go in kingston.

I've been going to Chris James for roughly 6 years now for all my semi/formal attire: Most recently I went there for my wedding suit. The best place to buy contemporary clothing for both men and women. The staff are personable, the shopping experience there is always pleasant (and I have been buying clothing there for decades, with about a 97% satisfaction rate). We're very lucky to have such a good clothing store in Kingston.
