I went in with a myriad of issues and no idea what to expect. I haven't quite aged out yet as a young adult and have been with Dr. Roberts for a few years now to treat hydrocephalus, so I figured if anyone knew what to do it'd be him. He was extremely attentive, patient, and meticulous in how he approached my case. With his guidance, we solved a 2-month long mystery and found that I had an infected VP shunt. We came up with a plan A, B, and C so that I felt reassured as an anxious patient. I always feel confident in his care and I feel reassured that I'm in good hands every time I see him. This is so important to me as someone with a less common medical condition. He is so knowledgeable, experienced, and confident in his capabilities. He was working with resident Dr Crabill (i may not have spelled that right) who also made sure that he did a fantastic job of communicating with me and reaching out to me during my trip here. Having two brains work on my case is also always an extra layer of reassurance to me. Dr. Anderson, my ID doctor was also really awesome when it came down to treating this infection! She was so reassuring and answered all of my questions about the infection and the treatment. I also really appreciated her lovely personality. It was comfortable talking to her even though it was my first time meeting her. She was so sweet and caring! I feel confident in my treatment plans with these doctors here. I do wanna talk about these nurses too. They were nothing short of amazing! Beautiful inside and out, too. The entire time I was in the PICU, each nurse met me with empathy, kindness, attentiveness. They were so friendly and nurturing and made me as comfortable as possible during a really painful stay! So shout out to ALL these PICU nurses and then some. I don't think I got all of their names, and there's a lot because I was in there for a minute! At any rate: thank you Amy, Marlee, Kionne, Nicole, Veronica, Taylor, Molly, Terika in the PICU! Amy, Marlee, and Kionne in particular made the most of my stay and I am so grateful I got to meet these beautiful souls! We laughed a lot, talked a lot, and I will never forget how much that means to me. When I was finally moved to a private room, my nurses there were Dalton, Somalia, and Sue, and I had the same kind of warmth from these three too! So thank you guys as well. There were so many other names and faces there, I wish I could've had them all written down. Like the staff that helped me with imaging. The staff that helped with my PICC line. The housekeepers and the food workers. Down to the people that just helped us navigate the hospital when we weren't sure where to go. I saw, recognized, and thanked them all when I could. Everyone at that hospital deserves appreciation and recognition for everything that they do. Thank you guys. I know that your jobs aren't easy, but I hope that they are rewarding. My ONLY complaint about the entire stay is the structural design of the hospital sometimes was really inconvenient for someone recovering from surgery. The floor made rolling my EVD and IV poles into the bathroom in the PICU very annoying (but luckily I had amazing nurses that were willing to help or do it for me!!) I also thought it was strange that bathrooms were shared in the PICU but maybe that's normal in hospitals? If it is, it shouldn't be. There were times where my neighbor would leave my door locked and not be in there, or leave pee on the toilet seat! I'm sure they weren't thrilled about my toothbrush being there on the counter either. And that's just a health risk in my opinion that should really be avoided especially in a place as delicate as an ICU. In the private room as well, having the sink outside of the bathroom was really odd to me as well. But despite this really petty complaint, I had nurses that were right by my side to help me make the best of that whole situation.

While on vacation in New Orleans from Florida, my wife and I admitted my 6 yo daughter due to a TIA/mini stroke (from a rare condition she was diagnosed with 3 years ago) that she experienced while walking around the French Quarter in the heat. We immediately drove straight to the nearest Children’s Hospital. Our experience was Above and Beyond service from the whole medical staff that we encountered yesterday. Everyone from the front check-in ladies to the main providers in the ER who registered us very quickly! I wanted to recognize personally the Medical Student first on the scene, Joseph Sansone. He asked the right questions and collected information from us very professionally (something my wife and I have done many times) thinking he worked there for many years, but finding out it was his first day! You’re going to be an Amazing doctor! Mrs Liz Tran, RN, who was by my daughter’s side majority of the time, catered to all her needs and made her feel comfortable throughout her emergency visit! Thank you for sharing your personal experiences, which that made us feel better! I don’t remember the nurse who switched shifts with Nurse Tran before we were discharged , but thank you for making our daughter happy with the gifts! Mr Gillis Dewey, radiologist, who performed the CT Scan, made her feel comfortable throughout the whole process from transferring her into the wheelchair, till the end of the scan. (She’s still raving about all her copious amounts of stickers you provided her and her little brother). ER tech, Lars Barr, was amazing with guiding us through the whole process. You were very efficient ad timely on keeping everything on track. Lastly, Dr Mark Carbon, M.D. was very caring from his initial introduction...all the way through the discharge. Keeping his staff efficient with care and keeping a big smile on his face the whole time every time we interacted with him made us realize why everyone was so great! His leadership reflected in all the staff in the ER! There was a positive vibe and energy throughout our visit! Thank you for making our experience with all of you very professional, friendly, and personable! We would come to this ER again if the event ever arises! The hospital’s upper echelon and president should be proud of their staff and performance today! God Bless you all!! From the bottom our hearts, Mr and Ms G, and Ella

My son was seen twice at this hospital’s ER. Our first experience there was disappointing. The check-in ladies were very friendly and the check-in nurse as well, but once we actually went into the ER in our room things went downhill. Our room was very dirty. There was dry blood on the wall and on the side of the bed. The nurse came in and took a sample of nasal drainage from my then 9 month old’s nose with a strong suctioning device. After doing so the nurse walked out and my son’s nose started bleeding and we didn’t know if this was okay or not because the nurse was nowhere to be found. My husband had to ask one of the CNAs for a towel to help clean up all the blood coming from his nose. He was tested for the flu and RSV. One doctor came in to assess him and he was almost dismissive of our concerns especially after asking if this was our first kid. So what if we are first time parents? That doesn’t make our concerns any less important. After almost three hours of waiting and no one coming to check on us in that entire time frame, they finally came to tell us the test results, but only after my husband went looking for someone at the nurse’s station. Another doctor came in and told us our son had RSV and she too was very dismissive of us and asked us if this was or first child. She vaguely explained what we needed to do, gave us a print out of RSV and sent us home. About two days later we were back at the ER because our son seemed to be getting worse. This time we had a nurse and doctor that were much more attentive and nice to us. This doctor also took the time to explain RSV to us and what was common and not. This time, he actually received the treatment he needed. Fast forward to several weeks later, we get our bills in the mail. I called the financial assistance office to inquire about help with paying the bills due to my husband losing his job and I am greeted by a rude financial counselor that flat out told me I didn’t qualify for help and needed to get in touch with Medicaid. She didn’t even attempt to help me. This has been a very disappointing experience for us and so long as we can help it, we will take our son to another hospital that treats children.

Children's hospital of New Orleans has given the absolute worst care to my grandchild that any hospital with any professionalism would you expect to be given! First of all I would start off by saying This is a great hospital with SOME great Doctors and Nurses. My son have been in and out for almost 2 years. Staying weeks and months at a time. Monday my son went to surgery where he almost lost his life and while in surgery someone went in his room and stole some of his belongings. Administration and Security tried to make it like we may have lost (1) item “AirPods” I tracked them, it led me to the cafeteria why the cafeteria if my son was in OR (Operating Room) then went straight to ICU the alert went off right where I was standing at. Meaning the AirPods are very close to me. Security walked me to the side, I tried to explain to him but he was not listening to one word I was saying. The Head Nurse Bridgette walks in and asked to walk in the kitchen to see if the phone will alert again, well it didn’t because it was about 30-40 minutes later. Now by that time the theif have turned them off. I was getting upset, trying to explain and Bridgette walked off. Security said he didn’t/couldn’t see anything on the camera. Now missing books and AirPods are gone. The next morning the location was disabled because now the theif have left the hospital and disconnected. Yesterday I spoke with Kristin, she seemed nice and they are replacing the AirPods. And the investigation is still ongoing!!!!!!!!! Am I satisfied Not at all because I will be speaking to other officials out of Children’s Hospital because I already know, they think buying new AirPods will make me feel better. I have never had an experience like this with this Hospital. Thanks To ALL my sons NURSES, THE GI TEAM, THE PELICAN CREW, SURGERY TEAM, INFECTION AND DISEASE TEAM, and the ones I didn’t mention! You guys are the real MVP’s

The doctors here are amazing . Nothing short of miracle workers . The Nursing Supervisors [Stephanie] however , not so great . Social Worker Ms. Alex also awful to have to deal with . My son was treated as if he were somehow secondary to his child's mother the entire 11 days that he had to spend there while his son underwent heart surgery . The outdated opinions of Stephanie and Ms. Alex on how a child's mother is somehow superior to the child's biological father , who was the one who brought his son there in the first place is something Administrators will want to look into and change lest they find themselves on the receiving end of a "Discrimination Lawsuit" . This is almost the year 2018 , not 1918 . Closed minded individuals who cannot seem to adapt and change with the times should not be allowed to hold supervisory positions where they are making crucial decisions that deeply effect parents , {fathers especially} during an almost intolerable time filled with stress and fear and anguish as to their child's welfare . The supervisory staff should be doing all they can to alleviate this father's worries rather than being the root or source . I would not recommend this hospital to any father who is separated or going through a divorce as the staff here will treat you as if you do not matter , and that is unacceptable . I would tell such dad's to take their babies to Texas , where amazing hospitals and doctors are , which is certainly where my son will bring his son the next time , if and when such critical care is needed ... Regina A. White [on behalf of her son: Walter A. White , who was there with his 5 yr. old son ]

I’ve been going to Children’s Hospital for about almost a month now, with my niece being there getting treatment, I met this very diligent and helpful officer in your facility His name is Karl Rodriguez. He is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet not to mention he’s very professional when it comes to his job and helping an elderly like me . Every time he sees me getting out my car he run and helps me open my car door and help me get my wheelchair out the back of my car without any hesitation, He always says “Good morning sir , Good afternoon sir how are you doing . “ that’s a good example of a good officer, good company and hoping whoever is the one running the department sees how hard working and dedicated they are especially how this gentleman Karl Rodriguez treat me like his own family or someone very important not to compared to any public safety or police officers I have met . We even have a great conversation a long the way but it just too personally so I just leave it there where we left it . I just hope that you see how this gentleman works and how dedicated he is and he will do anything for the safety of the people there at lcmc . I don’t know how much the pay rate of the officer working there but I do wish lcmc public safety will pay officers the pay they deserves . I’m writing this review because I want them to be recognized . I want the chief of public safety to read this so please hand it to him . I am very much looking forward for my next visit there and keep up the good work for making all your employees feel appreciated.

Medical Care is top notch 5 stars. Attitudes through out the campus leave much to be desired with the exception of a few outstanding humans. Mr. Donald (wish I had his last) 31 years of his life has been dedicated to Children's hospital. His title is unknown to me, so I'll say his facilities maintenence position is performed with great love of Children's hospital and their mission. My son asked Mr. Donald where he could find reasonably priced t-shirts close to the hospital. Mr. D notices we are sleeping in our car. He immediately jumps into action. He walked us to the cafe in the hospital, buys our breakfast. Offers lunch too. The next day, Mr. D shows up with 2 t-shirts for my son. The world needs more Mr. D's in it. NOTE to Nursing Staff, please be consistent with the rule making, the rule following, the rule enforcing. Please be consistent with the instructions given as well. NOTE to Security Staff, unless someone is doing something against the written rules/law, please leave them alone. If a parent/grandparent is sitting in their vehicle minding their business, don't come to harass them because you don't??? what I don't even know why... Terrible attitudes prevail at this hospital from the check in persons on multiple occasions on multiple days.

We brought our 1 year old to the ER because he wasn't moving his arm. It was determined he had nursemaid's elbow. After 4 hours in the ER, two attempts at a supination reduction by a NP, and an x-ray, they sent us home without resolving a common injury in young children. The NP claimed it was back in alignment. We knew it wasn't and asked they try the reduction again but she said nothing else could be done. The next day the issue remained and his pediatrician fixed his elbow in 30 seconds. My son's pain was extended longer than necessary due to their incompetence. Children's ER didn't help my child and all we gained was an exorbitant bill. UPDATE: While this was not a great experience, I've updated my review to reflect Children's action to the incident. I reported our visit to Patient Experience and received a call from an ER doctor the next day. Everyone I spoke with was sympathetic and reassuring that this should not be the standard of care. An investigation was conducted and further training is being implemented. I greatly appreciate the way Children's handled this. I've updated my rating from 1 star to 3 stars.

Childrens Hospital was amazing. We had just arrived at the New Orleans port from our Disney Cruise. Before we got off the ship, my son began complaining of stomach pain and vomiting. We were able to get off early due to concierge services, thank God for that. Once we got home, my son kept vomiting and the pain got worse. We went to urgent care, they referred us to Childrens.. we checked and we’re immediately called to the back. Ultrasound was done and lab work which revealed appendicitis.. surgeons came to the bedside and told me that he had to have surgery… from the beginning to the end, the staff was amazing.. I was there with my 11 year old and my ill son until my husband came and they treated us so well.. we met the anesthesiologist, the nurses what would be in surgery..the surgery was a success.. we spoke to the MD afterwards.. the whole experience reassured us that our son was in good hands.. we are forever thankful and grateful that God blessed us to be cared for by those healthcare professionals. THANK YOU CHILDRENS❤️

I was visiting New Orleans for the weekend and my 14yr. old had to be transported to this facility. I’ve used Children’s in Dallas, Tx. and never had a bad experience. My daughter was seen by Dr. Ireal S Johnson Fusco and she showed NO compassion. She was very over talkative. Didn’t seem to want to listen. She was rude until I told her my relative was a Pediatrician then she wanted to do a CT Scan before releasing her. I felt like we were judged by our clothing. My daughter woke up and was very ill so when the ambulance came, we both had on pajamas. We were traveling and when a child or anyone is ill and have to be transported who worries about clothing at the time. When we walked out the room the nurses at the nursing station would stop talking and look at you so you feel like you were being discussed. The person that performed the CT scan was excellent. The male nurse that worked 11/26 around 11:46 am showed no compassion. My first and I pray last experience here and I must say rude and didn’t seem to care.

We are still here for another week but I can say this. Everyone from the parking garage to the other side of the hospital where we have to be has been exceptional. I have not seen the level of teamwork in a while & last time was UHC@NO. I am forever grateful & thankful for what this hospital has done & continue to do. 6th floor rocks Also whomever is the pilot of the Children's Hospital Helicopter awesome flying. Beautiful. Once again the entire staff at this hospital went above and beyond my hopes for my granddaughter. We live almost 3 hrs away, the oral surgeon and the dentist (Dr King&Dr. Fournier) took their time working with their teams here were able do help and get the oral care we had been waiting for a year. This is by far the most compassionate and competent entire hospital that keeps family involved with patients care. To the owner know what you have is very unique.

Children’s Hospital used to be top tier one of the best children’s hospital in Louisiana . In recent years this hospital has completely gone downhill. I hate it! Don’t get me wrong the Metairie location is amazing , but the Henry Clay one , is insane. I grew up in & out of this hospital due to Asthma but disappointment is an understatement . I wouldn’t even send a fish here! We had a one day overnight stay , We were transported by the ambulance , which meant we had to wait on our ride once we got discharged the rn said my supervision wanted to know “when you’re leaving” we need the room as if I didn’t have a 2month old . As if my child didn’t have RsV. Oh & The refrigerator on floor 3 where you can get something to drink was nasty nasty. Everybody want to be a nurse but not everybody deserve the title. It’s hard to find good nurses these days .

  • Troilynn Smith

Waited here for 3hrs after i checked my 1month old in, got called to the back where i waited 2 more hrs in a waiting room while they told me they were getting a room cleared for my baby. I’ve seen people that haven’t been waiting long, checked in after me came & gone. They’ve had absolutely no staff in the back to even ask how long they’ll be. I had to go ask the doctors what was going on & why have i seen people coming before my little 1month old that can’t do anything for himself or even tell me what’s wrong! They told me it doesn’t goes in the order of who came first, it goes by which patients had the worst symptoms. I got kind of upset because my baby is tiny & his stomach was so upset, i guess his symptoms didn’t matter to them. After waiting 5hrs from 8pm-1am I left with out my baby even being seen.

  • Shannon Billiot

Absolutely miserable experience! We were told to check in at 8am for dental surgery. They were behind so we were told it would be AT LEAST 3-4 more hours. Our Autistic 5 year old doesn’t sleep, so we were up all night listening to her cry for food and milk. We stayed in a hotel because we live 1 and a half hours away and had to drive her around New Orleans in the middle of the night to try and take her mind off being so hungry. We ended up having to cancel the surgery because she wasn’t going to last that long without food or milk, after going all night without. It’s disappointing that a hospital specializing in Children’s care can’t maintain a timely schedule. Last night was excruciating and the thought of having to do this all over again is unimaginable.

  • Dhaval Patel

Customer service is good! But huge suggestion that this hospital should consider doing immediately. Get emails for every patients you have and tell them to DocuSign for any treatment and etc. and also let them pay for their treatment, surgery, and more online. Because 1/2 Tab Fastener File is $81.89. Two months back it was around $50.00 at Office DEPOT/Max. So, you can assume how much copy paper price will be in coming months. And, everything is in the palms of our hands. So, giving out paper for patients appointments shouldn't be printed out. Let clerk know that it'll be sent to that patients parent/guardians email. Make sure the email is correct with the parent or guardian. LETS GEAUX GREEN! SAVE THEM TREES, THE ENVIORNMENT, ATMOSPHERE, AND POLLUTION...

Hi !! My name is Karl Rodriguez I was a employee at children’s hospital LCMC HEALTH New Orleans on the department public safety. Working with Children’s Hospital it was the greatest thing that even happened. Supervisors, directors and senior directors, are the best leaders and helpful with task. Everybody at Children’s Hospital they are wonderful employees, and leaders. I learn so much that it corrected/guided my life and self motivate me. Children’s Hospital LCMC is the beautiful place to work at. So much events and fun you can be in at children hospital I created so much memories working there. The CEO is such a wonderful and kind person to work under, they have their own theme as :WHO DAT?! WE DAT! Best work place you can join in ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Alex Ourso

This hospital goes the extra mile to take care of your little one! They will double and triple check everything to make sure you’re getting the best and most accurate information possible. I definitely want to recognize one of the phlebotomists named Tonda. She was amazing, gentle and EXTREMELY good at her job. She was able to draw two tubes of blood from our 8 week old with as little discomfort to our little one as possible. She talked to him the whole time and made him smile all the while. I love and definitely recommend this hospital to anyone who is scared, or nervous about their child. You are in GREAT hands here and I couldn’t recommend a better staff. The entire emergency room overnight staff was amazing on 12/29/21 and 12/30/21. Kudos!

  • Cole Claiborne

Excellent care and facilities but I would only go again if my child is dying or I’m looking for overinflated “hospital level” bills. Hospitals have a knack for finding insurance company loopholes and special legal perks to upcharge thousands for things that cost way less in an outpatient office setting. And even if you have an outpatient clinic appointment, they still bill hospital procedural charges. Never again will I go there. I agree with other reviewers that their billing department is horrible. Rather than have a supervisor return my multiple calls/emails to explain a bill, they just sent me to collections. Pretty sleazy. I guess they have to shake the money out of someone to pay for that elegant new expansion and lobby.

  • Bianca Trinidad

Im truly disgusted with the wait time and then to get told according to the take in desk who was extremely rude that she can not give me a wait time a patient is called just depending on the severity of one's medical needs, we’ve been waiting for over 5 hours with a 2 year old with fever and difficultly breathing , we are still waiting to get called back to a room, UPDATE: I decided to leave along with two additional family that left after waiting over 5 hours they had Medicaid as my child but it’s not based on severity it’s based on the insurance hospitals and clinics make very little money on Medicaid patients therefore they will always favor a private insurance over Medicaid insurance.

  • Melissa Boye

My husband and I consulted my sons on call doctor about his symptoms and we were advised to bring him to the ER. We headed to Children’s. We checked in at 9:00pm, by 12:35AM we hadn’t even been triaged and I am NOT interested in hearing “because of Covid” I am not being selfish with my complaint, I was so upset for all of these families and small children sick and up all hours of the night!! This has to stop! It was like Black Friday in the hospital and there was only 1 triage nurse! Unacceptable!!! I have been taking my kids there for the past 16 years and I’ve seen this hospital go down every time we go! I keep going and trying to give them a chance, they failed big time!

  • Jennifer Schrichten

Took my nonverbal autistic son there, waited 3.5 hours before even being triaged. The registration lady was very sweet and offered to take us to the room next door to the resource room so he wouldn’t be overwhelmed the two lady’s in there were rude and had An attitude because he couldn’t wear a mask. When he finally got back to a room he wasn’t swabbed a chest X-ray preformed the symptoms were pretty much just treated with amoxicillin without even knowing what exactly was going on with him. I have been taking all 4 of my kids here for 13 years and this was the worst experience ever. I have worked in healthcare for 27 years so I pretty much know what I’m talking about.

  • Coulter Moulton

My son was having breathing problems. I took him to Hammond because we live in Ponchatoula. This was on Saturday. They transported him to Childrens because they couldn’t elevate his oxygen and wanted his heart looked at. We get to childrens hospital and wonderful staff, but I don’t feel as if they did everything they could to help elevate his oxygen. They let us go today with his lungs clear, but he oxygen is still not where it should be and he’s still having breathing problems. I’m not happy about this at all, very frustrated. I’ll more than likely have to bring my son back to the ER. This time I’m avoiding Childrens.

  • Slaylike Yinka

Waited here for 7hrs after i checked my 5month old in, I’ve seen people that haven’t been waiting long, checked in after me came & gone. They’ve had absolutely no staff in the back to even ask how long they’ll be. THIS PLACE IS RIDICULOUS MY BABY WAS HAVING BREATHING ISSUES AND NEVER WAS EVEN SEEN THhey SAY it doesn’t goes in the order of who came first, it goes by which patients had the worst symptoms. I got kind of upset because my baby is tiny HE CANT SAY WHt is wrong i guess his symptoms didn’t matter to them. After waiting 7hrs I left and went to another hospital with out my baby even being seen.

  • Sarah Young

I hate to have to leave a negative review because I love chnola ! The ER is a JOKE though... steer clear!! 6.5 hours and the cast that was put on my 1 yrs old fell off not even 12 hours later. The Dr. Was great and so was the admit staff but the nurses in the back are so rude and cold. They treated us as if his broken finger wasn't an emergency We waited 1.5 hours for discharge papers before leaving, no nurse in sight . No one ever discharged us, My baby was screaming and no one even came to check on us. Not to mention I had to assist the Dr because there were no nurses to help him!!

  • Eugenie Paige Alsobrook

I haven't been there before, but my friend did go their for mental health reasons. i noticed months in advanced to him being admitted, that they were at risk of harming or eventually killing themselves. I knew xe needed help, and I was not about to lose a friend. These people helped xem to find a meaning to life, and you guys saved him. They took great care for them and even respected his pronouns (which didn't happen at mine). Obviously, it was a very traumatic experience, but you guys helped him, and I am so grateful for your staff. I am so happy to still have a friend alive.

  • Erreaon Farve

It’s currently 10:45 pm I’ve been in this hospital since 2pm. And unfortunately I’m still in the waiting room haven’t been seen yet. Im watching everyone come out and still it’s been hours since they even called anyone to the back. What’s worse I came because my kids have been exposed to COVID and are showing strong symptoms( yes I did mention this when checking in) I have a 3year old and 5 month old. This isn’t right for all the other kids to have to be exposed around someone who potentially has COVID this long, their should be a better system in place to protect the kids.

Live in Houston; but drove to NOLA for second opinion for grandson. Appointment desk was very accommodating, assisted with hotel choices near hospital. Service was timely and all staff were helpful and kind. The clinic was spotlessly clean and had interesting features for children. The xray personnel were great with our grandson, getting good films in record time. The office staff and doctor were so kind and good with our grandson, he actually told us he 'had a good time' there! Everything was fully explained and we would definitely go back if needed and recommend highly.

The wonderful staff at children's Hospital I, Sergeant James Glass, my wife Joyce, and my family would love to extend prayers, sincere gratitude for the many prayers, and showing of abundance of support in the challenging time that we faced with my son, Jaykob, (a.k.a Money Glass) taking ill. Whether you called, texted, or just thought of us. We, the Glass Family appreciate and thank you guys. We pray that God extends the same blessing to you guys as he has for my family. I pray God to enlarge your territory and take you to new heights. Be blessed. Once again, thank you.

Drs and staff are very friendly. Everyone from the parking lot attendant to the check out desk are courteous and friendly. Scheduling appointments are easy. Nurses are accommodating when trying to gain information about labs or testing results. Drs really seem to be knowledgeable and willing to help. The housekeeping is another story. Floors are very dirty in some waiting rooms and waiting areas. Every bathroom I have been to in the hospital could be cleaner. Just could really use an upgrade in the housekeeping area which is a shame when every other department is great!

Our first few days here was okay. Now I’m on the 3rd day and we were moved into a shared room on another floor. They completely forgot to feed both kids in this room and when brought to their attention they’re saying the cafeteria is closed so now basically the kids have to nibble on snacks. On top of that, myself and the other parent on the other side of the room are sitting in hard uncomfortable chairs that don’t recline or do anything. We have requested recliners or sofa beds repeatedly. There is no way we can sleep in these chairs sitting straight up.

This place is a pitiful excuse for a hospital. Sadly, I had to subject my three-year-old to this type of treatment. from the moment I walked in, it wasn't pleasant. The staff at the front desk was unprofessional and rude, to the least. To say the emergency room is newly renovated the waiting area was unbelievable awful. Im disappointed this is the only Children's Hospital in the city of New Orleans. From the waiting room to the triage area was nasty and the staff care about their cell phones more than the patients. I WISH THERE WERE MORE OPTION 12/6/2021

It's truly disheartening that you have this brand new, million dollar state of the art medical facility with thousands of employees walking around and yet you spend ours on end the the ER awaiting to see a Dr. At least prior to all these cosmetic improvements they use to provide fast track. Now everyone just sits and wait because according to the take in desk they're is no order a patient is called just depending on the severity of one's medical needs. Meanwhile children sit waiting in excruciating pain, crying, broken/fractured bones. It's truly sad.

We have been using this hospital for the last 16 years. It’s is growing to help more kids . The staff of the hospital are amazing they work at this hospital because they love helping kids. I have seen this with my own eyes they are very caring of ever child. The food in the cafeteria is very good now the staff is not very friendly to any one. I have to say the cleaning staff it doing a excellent job keep the hospital clean the old hospital is as clean as the new parts . The work that the Doctors are doing there is amazing. I thank God for all of them

The only issue i have is with neurology. My son was prescribed phenobarbital for "seizure activity" that he never even had, and now we can't get in touch with the doctor for his prescriptions to be filled. She is the one who told us if he doesn't get weaned off of it the right way it could kill him. So why not answer the phone? We have had 4 issues with him withdrawling that weve had to go to the ER just to get medicine. He was supposed to be weaned off by 6 months of age. He turned 6 months 2 days ago. Still , the doctor is MIA.

The PICU is the redeeming part of this practice as a collective. I was sorely disappointed with everything after we left the PICU, minus the fantastic few nurses we had (Alyssa 5th floor especially). The patient care advocacy team that listens to your concerns about everything regarding patient care, as far as I know is great for listening to your concerns but I have no actual idea if anything that you relay to them actually does anything besides make you feel better that you told someone.

This facility treats our kids with dignity. I like how they have a packet they need to work through and it helps identify ways kids can cope. The staff/nurses/aides seem well-managed, I can always talk to a nurse or a doctor. I receive daily calls, and they call back; something other facilities severely lack. They didn't get a 5th star because some of the psychiatrists seem to talk in circles and not really give helpful advice other than to call XYZ and get more info there.

  • Matthew Colling

This big and beautiful new hospital is shockingly disorganized. No one on the phone seems to be able or willing to actually help solve a problem or answer a question. They just play the “I’ll transfer you” game until you reach a dead end and you hang up. The amount of time I wasted just trying to get my son vaccinated was ridiculous. Once we got there it took 15min and 5 people to figure out where the vaccinations were taking place. Get your act together.

Dec 29th my 18 yr old son had to have oral surgery to get 6 wisdom teeth removed. Dr. Brett King did his surgery and I have thenupst respect for him and his staff. Everyone on deck was so professional, caring, loving and the list goes on. I would recommend his work to anyone. Will return here anytime. ❤❤❤. Thank you all for the spectacular work. My son is doing great. No post pain. Just awesome!! Happy new Years. GOD bless!

  • Single Child

The food in the cafeteria is full of sodium, even the salads! The nurses are rude and have no compassion. As a parent I feel like no one listen to my needs and concerns when it came to my child. My child is getting worse by the day, and they're over medicating my child, and ignoring my opinions. They have also scheduled a procedure for my child that has been pushed back 7 times. I'm loosing all respect for this hospital.

  • Lillieana G

I'm an "adult" patient of Dr. Ellis. He's SOO sweet and, a very good doctor. I have to say. He has a talent for, being able to talk to patient and parent, at the same time. He's what I mean!! I had an appointment with him 1 day. When I was around, 19 trying to get my drivers license!! He was explaining something to my mom. He stopped right in the middle and told "me" something. I don't remember exactly what though!!

Beware of this place they let my mentally ill child go said nothing was wrong with her but she tried to kill her brother again 3 months later. Then went back there and they said she was good that she was being abused they believed a clever manipulator and put our family through hell. We won the case but not before our entire world was turned upside down. The children phycologist there are a absolute joke.

This was my first time visiting the Childrens Hospital in New Orleans. I felt welcome when I made it to the entrance way up to my appointment with Dr. Marble and his staff. They are very professional, caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, and with a sweet spirit. If I say so myself I would definitely recommend this hospital. Keep up the GOOD WORK! and May God continue to Bless you and yours....

  • Cora Coudrain

Today my son came in for a MRI. He is four and we wanted to try first without sedating him. The staff was amazing and supported this. He was able to complete the scan with no problems and Nurse Hannah brought him a surprise at the end. She was also waiting with gatorade and a big smile! Thank you so much to the staff for making this a smooth painless test for my boy. Bravo.

  • Rebecca White-Johnson

The scheduling staff is extremely rude and desensitized. There is absolutely no reason parents should have to deal with discourteous and irritable staff members when attempting to schedule appointments for sick children. Especially when I am being kind and considerate when speaking with them on the phone. Members of the healthcare team, doctors, and nurses are awesome!

  • Rita Wicht

My son transferred from an out of state hospital to this one and they saved his life. He had brain cancer and we spent 3 months at the 6 center. The nurses were INCREDIBLE and made our stay feel as comfortable as possible. The doctors were patient and listened to our concerns no matter how busy they were. Dr. Volk was amazing and our hero. Thank you CHNOLA!!

I have been here since 2:40 quarter to 3 and it’s 5:39 and Iam still sitting in the waiting Room waiting for a Breathing treatment for my grandchild after inhaling all that smoke and dust in the air you would think they would move a lil faster considering he having a hard time breathing all they calling is for you to sign papers

  • Richard Hernandez

One Terrible Vist with Dr Alejandro leon at the vision center. You would think the staff would be more kid friendly with a 4 year old girl. It was her first time getting her eyes checked, and we're never going back to him or that office again. Only person that was kid friendly was Heather.

  • rosella frazier

My daughter was transported here in the past, had to stay two days and it was a blessed experience from all the staff and especially the volunteer staff. Ms. Deborah, the chaplain is a blessing. I have no problem driving almost two hours to ensure my children receive the best care.

  • That dumb Channel

For over 2 months I have been waiting for someone from children’s hospital to call me to schedule two heart surgeries that I have to have. It’s become a battle between this hospital and my cardiologist. My cardiologist can’t even get an email returned to him regarding my surgery

  • Dennis Henderson

This hospital has a very caring staff! Every person that I've crossed paths with at this location treats the patients and their families as if they're a member of their own family. Renovations are being made that benefit patient care and the new parking garage is a blessing.

  • John Macera

Great doctors there they had 6 specialists on the case for my son such great people God bless each and everyone those doctor and associates n surgeons awsome job finding relief wow . I just seen the biggest smile on my son's face he is 100x better waitn to get discharged

Childrens Hospital NOLA is the best hospital ever! It was 17years ago my daughter was here with open heart surgery twice. Now my granddaughter is here for somewhat the same surgery. They had great doctors back then and even greater doctors now .

We went in to get our son an x-ray on his head after our Doctor had previously failed to order this with an ultrasound the first time. So needless to say, Dr. Ann Miller from DoCHC is horrible, but this hospital isn't any better. I have had

I really want to give Children's Hosptial 5 stars because I really do love the way they treat my children. The staff is always amazing. Yes, there are times when we have to wait a while when we visit the ER, but that's to be expected. My

Well, I'll update later, but for now this is terrible! Brought my daughter here to get some answers and relief from abdominal pain for several days. So far, we have been stuck in a room for 2 hours. She is hurting! This is the ER.

  • Crystal Johnson

Most of the staff seems to be uncertain and too busy to care and teach the care for the patient to the parents. There's only a few nurses who actually seem to care for their job in helping the child get the optimal care.

With the way the world is changing It feels good to have great Dr.That we can trust to care for our kids . I strongly recommend Dr.Amanda Giles in Audiologist and student ‍ Savannah Perfect doctors …

Maria ludlow She called my place of employment on behalf of Children’s only to curse my staff out. She should not be a representation of Children’s Hospital. Feel free to contact for more information.

So loving and understanding. People will never understand what it is like when you have a sick child. We arrived late due to the weather and they were still so understanding. Dr. Lilje was awesome.
