המלצה חמה חמה לדתיים שלא יודעים מה לעשות בשבת וכן רוצים ללון במרכז לונדון. לפני שטסנו ללונדון מאוד התלבטנו מה לעשות עם שבת ובכלל. במרכז לונדון אין הרבה מקומות כשרים, אבל בגלל ששקיעה הייתה מוקדמת מאוד (היינו בדצמבר) חבל לנו ללון בגולדרס גרין ולבזבז זמן יקר על נסיעות הלוך חזור. בסוף החלטנו להישאר במרכז - ולא מצטערים לרגע. בית חב"ד שהיה הבחירה ההגיונית והרגילה היה סגור בשבת שאנחנו ביקרנו בלונדון, ולא ידעתי מה לעשות. בדיעבד - מזל גדול. לאחר חיפוש במספר אתרים לצערי לא מצאתי כמעט מידע מעודכן בקבוצות והייתי צריך לשלוח מיילים לבד לכל מיני בתי כנסת. יצרתי קשר עם בית הכנסת THE CENTRAL SYNAGOGUE LONDON The Central Synagogue London שממוקם ב- 36 Hallam Street W1W 6NW London, UK ושאלתי אם יש תפילות שבת וכו'? ענו לי שיש מנחה וערבית ובשבת בבוקר שחרית יחד עם קידוש. מעולה! הפרוצדורה הנצרכת היא לשלוח דרכון לאבטחה במייל ולאחר שאתם מקבלים אישור פשוט תגיעו ויבדקו שאתם רשומים ואתם בפנים. בשבת בערב הגענו - מתפללים בבית הכנסת הקטן מנחה + קבלת שבת + ערבית בצורה די זריזה. לאחר מכן יש קידוש שהרב המקומי (שהוא מדהים) עושה יחד עם מזונות - אם הייתי יודע זה היה חוסך לי לקנות סתם יין וכו'. בבוקר זאת ה-חוויה. לפני התפילה יש יש קפה ותה חופשי ושיעור מפי רב בית הכנסת לקהילה - חוויה אדירה לחוש את דילמות ההלכה של יהדות אנגליה והתפוצות (האם מותר לילדים לאכול תרופות בטעמים תות וכו' שללא כשרות? ועוד) לאחר מכן מתפללים באולם הגדול שהוא היכל בית הכנסת מהיפים ביותר שראיתי. הכל נקי ומזמין, עזרת נשים רחבה. אווירה של ממש ותפילה חוויתית - כולל מי שברך למשפחת המלוכה (כולם צריכים לעמוד!) יחד עם תפילה לשלום החיילים ומדינת ישראל - כולם מקבלים אותך בצורה מדהימה ואת האורחים מכבדים בעלייה לתורה. לאחר התפילה יש קידוש באולם למטה רחב וידיים ומלא כל טוב. אוכל, וויסקי ובעיקר הזדמנות לדבר עם חברי הקהילה - ושוב הכל בפתיחות ורוחב לב. אני ממליץ על החוויה ממש! *שימו לב שאין עירוב במרכז לונדון! תמונה של בית הכנסת צולמה בשבת כמובן ;)

Following my visit to the Synagogue I was surprised that kids who do not wear the "Kippah" are not allowed to participate ( kids under 11). The main Rabbi came to talk to those kids who chose not to wear the Kippah and he was rude, aggressive and at times angry. He said more than three times that they are being "disrespectful" and those little kids were terrified and shocked by him. I had to intervene to stop him scaring the kids. The Rabbi who is an MBE was out of order. The whole experience was very negative and counter productive as we were trying to teach the kids to live in harmony. Last but not least, on the wall there is a picture which says " may the Lord bless the soldiers of Israel" and in the picture there are Israeli soldiers standing very proud, which I believe is a political stance and should not be there. I strongly advise schools to avoid this place and go to other Synagogue.

Came here to visit with my son for his school trip. Lovely building, learned some interesting things about Jewish traditions etc, the boys got to wear the Jewish hat, I forget the name of it. Was fascinating to see the generous amount of food donated to their synagogue which they use for various reasons.

This synagogue is incredbly welcoming, friendly, and beautiful. We visited for a Shabbat and were treated like members of the congregation. We were even invited to the beautiful Kiddush! If I'm ever back in London, I'll be coming back to Central Synagogue.

Very warm & welcoming Synagogue with all services every day. Known for it's kindness and hospitality together with an excellent Rabbi, I would strongly recommend a visit.

Daily services, better to inform them in advance about your coming, but anyway, you will be subjected to a security check In order to get in, ring the doorbell

בית כנסת פעיל גם בימי החול, שחרית בבוקר ומנחה+ערבית ב"פלג המנחה". מקום נחמד, אנשים לבביים. מאובטח. הכניסה מהרחוב האחורי.

קהילה קטנה ותיקה ומקסימה. קבלו אותנו בחום. בית כנסת מאוד מרשים. ממולץ מאוד לחוות את התפילות במקום. תודה רבה לרב לרנר.
