I had a very disappointing experience at Cask last Saturday. Despite requesting a 1:30 PM reservation in advance, I was advised to book for 3:15 PM to accommodate a large party of 10. Although I expressed concerns about the late booking, I was urged to proceed. However, I regretted this decision as soon as I arrived at the reservation. The kitchen was due to close in half an hour, and our waiter rushed us to order as soon as we sat down. His annoyance made my friends and I feel uncomfortable, so I pulled him aside to explain that we were celebrating a birthday and his sense of urgency was off-putting. The food was rushed and tasted undercooked, with the chicken in the chicken & waffles being uncooked and the muffin on the eggs benedict being rock hard and impossible to cut through. We felt that our experience was incomplete as the DJ left in the middle of our brunch, the kitchen closed early, and the restaurant was empty. To make matters worse, we were charged for singing "Happy Birthday" and for the waffle and sparkler, which left us feeling taken advantage of as young Black Americans celebrating a 23rd birthday. I do not understand why we were booked for such a late reservation if the restaurant knew they could not accommodate us properly. Overall, my experience at Cask was very disappointing, and I do not recommend it. I rarely leave reviews, but I feel it is unfair for anyone to have their special day ruined in this way.
I am here to let people who come here and see 4 stars and think this place is even halfway decent, it IS NOT. This place is a joke. I am not sure if it was racism or just lack of concern for new guests at their establishment. I am personally so disgusted because I was in charge of finding a brunch spot for my sister in laws birthday. From the looks of this place online it seems great. HOWEVER it is probably the worst I have ever been treated at a restaurant in my life, ever. From the manager, to the servers, every single person gave attitude and were very AGGRESSIVE. The waiter actually put his hand in my sisters face and said "do not talk to me like that." He also lied about not being able to use 2 cards for the bill. We had to actually tell him he was being aggressive and he went back and forth with all the woman at the table. I am not sure of his name but he was short with ginger hair. When I tried to speak to the manager, get this.. he told me to call at some other time and walked right away from the table. Another waitress simply told us she was too busy and walked away. No one would even listen to how poorly we were treated.. I am truly shocked that this even happened. Do not let these stars fool you, any establishment that allows the people working there to disrespect guests in this manner, including the manager, is not worth it.
After reading the reviews, and checking their Instagram I was excited to celebrate my friends birthday here… Instead our party left feeling robbed and extremely disappointed with our experience. From the subpar quality of the food, to the aggressive and dismissive attitudes of the waiters… I would definitely not recommend this spot. I also wouldn’t accept any reservation slots they say they have available past 1 pm. Despite being encouraged to book a 3:15 pm reservation, we were rushed to order our food and drinks within 5 minutes of being seated. Our waiter RELENTLESSLY asserted that the kitchen would be closing within 5 minutes of our arrival…Then would you allow a party to book at that time??? As well as us being there towards the end of the live DJ’s set. Meaning we were forced to listen to elevator music for the majority of our meal….Not exactly the ideal vibe for brunch. It would make most sense to only accept bookings that a restaurant is able to fully accommodate….but allowing us to book and giving us less than half of the advertised experience was deceptive to say the least. And to make matters worse.. we were literally charged for the ‘complimentary’ birthday dessert… 3/10
Nice atmosphere. Bartenders aren't trained to make drinks, even the easy/standard stuff, which is annoying considering the high prices. We got 4 drinks, 3 from their fancy cocktail menu and 1 Manhattan. Each drink led to a VERY long time of looking at the instructions in her book behind the bar, but even that wasn't successful. The Manhattan was made with the whiskey and vermouth portions swapped (it should be more whiskey), and one of the fancy menu drinks was smoked ("smoked old fashioned," I think) and the bartender failed to operate the smoking equipment correctly after 3 or 4 attempts (it clearly wasn't being used correctly and none of the smoke was reaching the drink) then handed us the drink and said "it's smoked." It had zero smoke but lots of grit mixed in from the wood that's used for the smoke from the contraption being held over the glass. Pretty awful. 2 stars because the other two drinks on the cocktail menu were made correctly and were excellent (and worth the price).

Loved this place, I went out for a casual drink, I was searching for places and saw this one. I went in and made it to happy hour on Tuesday. I had the blood and spice and highly recommend if you like the spicy kick. The sizzle in Oaxaca was also great. It had a nice amount of Smokey feel from the mezcal. The expresó Martini that my friend had was definitely one that I’ll go back for. The pasión fruit mojito was good but I messed it up by having the mezcal before that. I don’t have much to eat besides the small dishes. The croquets were good, not something I’d normally go for but they were good. I loved the blackend shrimp tostadas I recommend them although they were amazing to me my friend felt them spicy. The staff was friendly and attentive, I was very satisfied with this place. I will definitely be going back again
Food was an overall 8/10. The lamb nachos were the BEST. Had mine well done. It was a lil spicy but sweet also(10/10). The steak didn’t really have any seasoning(6/10). Mac n cheese had no seasoning, just cheese.(6/10). The burrata was great. Sweet. Lollipop chicken had a nice crisp but needed seasoning (6/10). The presentation of everything was great(8.5/10). My salmon n lentils were GREAT (8.9/10). Cooked well seasoned great. Lentils also had taste. We had pumpkin pie as a dessert but it was COLD. Wish it was warm. The wine was great. It was also my birthday but they didn’t do anything for that. Not sure why it was an option on the website. My friends n I paid $78 each with a tip.

Have been twice, food: got the buttermilk fried chicken & waffles the first time and the bananas foster french toast the second. drinks: mimosas are a classic, the espresso martini is also good, made with real coffee and not just coffee syrup. I’m from down south so my expectations for chicken & waffles is p high and this place met them. The 4 star rating is because I didn’t love the bananas foster french toast- maybe they were having an off day but the bananas weren’t that sweet and the toast was kind of dry. If you like your french toast soaked in syrup like me, I wouldn’t recommend this dish to you. If you’re a more subtly sweet French toast person, this is for you. Beautifully presented, though!
Went to Cask for the Sunday brunch and the five-star elements of this place include the physical space, which I regret I did not get many photos of. We arrived there just after they opened at 10am… quiet, perfect place to meet loved ones or friends for the start of a lovely day. I ordered Eggs Benedict, and my brunch partners had the Quinoa Bowl, the Chicken and Waffles and the Avocado Toast. I would say that they were tasty and enjoyable; however, in terms of five star, the holiday sauce, and the consistency of my eggs was ⭐️⭐️⭐️. If I take into consideration the whole experience at Cask, I would rate it higher due to the ambience of the restaurant and attentiveness of the waitress.
I've been a frequent guest at Cask over the years for work happy hours and dinners, and it's always been lovely—great drinks, food, and ambience. But I want to write about an experience from the other night. I visited with a couple guests for late evening drinks, and midway through, my one friend suddenly fainted (she is recovered now, so no worries). A few servers immediately came to administer first aid, call emergency services, and offer us comfort and assistance. I'm deeply appreciative of how professional, level-headed, and kind these women all were in handling the situation. Thank you for going above and beyond when it was needed!
I can give this place five stars because the food was delicious and came out fast. However, I have to take a star away because of the atmosphere and service. It was pretty dark and the tiny candles placed sparingly on the bar were little to no help. The bartenders were nice, but were not the best example of great service. Would come back or more likely just do delivery or takeout and eat at home where I can actually see my food haha. I highly recommend getting the poutine!!!

Came here this past weekend for outdoor dining with some girlfriends. The waitress was so friendly, and checked up on us constantly. I got the IPA Fried Chicken and Waffles. Unfortunately they were short staffed in the kitchen so I couldn’t get my eggs fried the way I wanted but after a few drinks from our pitcher of the Rose Sangria all was forgotten! Everything was delicious & at a great price point. The Truffle Mac n Cheese (not pictured) is definitely a favorite! I would come back here again. I did get a peek of the inside when I went to use the restroom and the ambiance is really nice.
This is a great local bar. I’ve eaten here twice. It’s quiet on the weekends which is nice but they also have brunch specials so if you enjoy a bottomless situation, then you can enjoy that. Everything I’ve had here is really fresh and pretty good. They also have trivia on the weekends, which is really fun.and they also have happy hour so I definitely recommend trying that out. It’s a great local bar/restaurant if you just in the area.

I went to Cask on 9/10/2022 with some friends for a brunch. Our waitress was friendly and competent. That would have been enough, but when I asked if they had whipped cream and strawberries for my Belgian waffle so I could have it World's Fair style, she went out of her way to get me fresh sliced strawberries and the kitchen literally whipped up the best whipped cream I've ever had. Everyone said their food was wonderful. Aside for the music being a touch too loud for conversation, this was a pleasant little place with great staff!
This place charge 3% extra to your bill if you pay with credit card and during my visits seems didn’t have an air conditioner Drinks were good and place wasn’t super loud inside. Just very hot Bathroom sink is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen: one tap on the left side run hot water and another tap on the right side runs cold water. Not sure how you’re going to wash your hands with this installment

Unbelievable hole in the wall in Murray Hill. Highly recommend their brunch and bottomless drinks. Also with brunch there is normally a live DJ! Such a fun place for a weekend brunch with friends or a loved one :) It’s so incredibly good and my friend and I had the best time! Be sure to order their Mac and cheese, buttermilk chicken and waffles, smash burger and amazing truffle fries! Also don’t skip the espresso martinis they are to die for!!! Can’t wait to go back here.
WOW! What an amazing experience, Jenny is phenomenal! We did the bottomless brunch and let me say the music was so aesthetic. Asked for a split bill, they explained they can do this but it’s incredibly difficult when they’re so busy (makes total sense to me ♀️) This place is a must try, the cocktail options and food are exceptional. Rachel was so attentive and kind. WE WILL BE BACK! Oh and ask Niall about Chelsea handler!
Manager here has the nastiest attitude. We found hair in one of our plates of food and notified the waitress. Her manager (girl with blond hair) comes out with a gross attitude telling us that none of her kitchen staff has that kind of hair. Disappointed in the service this restaurant has. Never coming back again. Food also does not taste good.

One of my favorite after work place to grab a drink and food. The place is beautiful, people working there are awesome and friendly (Kaira is awesome at the bar) Finally the cocktails (especially Where Is The Smoke) are equally awesome. Can't forget the food personal favorite are the smashburger and braised short ribs. Essentially this is home away from home! Have yet to try brunch but after reading reviews planning on it!
T’was a brick boozy brunch on a wintery Saturday noon... Found our small plates a bit bland and simple. Quite a difference from our dinner experience last year (alas, pre-covid and indoors). The black walnut toffee old fashioned is a creative twist to the original, with molasses like sweetness and hints of orange. Heaters weren’t as effective as others have claimed. Though I only had one drink.
I had bottomless brunch with some friends at Cask on Sunday March 19th - Literally. The Best. Brunch. Ever!!! The food was amazing, the blood and spice cocktails we couldn’t get enough of, our Irish server Rachel was phenomenal and so attentive and DJ Catskillz was playing some of my all time fave tunes she was AWESOME!!! this place is going to be seeing a lot of me from now on :)))) 10/10!!
A Blissful Brunch Experience at Cask – Thanks to Andy! Last Sunday for Brunch, I had the pleasure of experiencing a fantastic brunch at Cask, a cozy bar with an inviting ambiance. The primary reason for this unforgettable experience was the exceptional service provided by our server, Andy. He truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a delightful time, and I can't wait to return!
Not sure how this restaurant has such a great reputation. I recently attended a 30th birthday party here and the food was subpar at best. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which the chicken was undercooked and had to send back. The staff also forgot multiple items we ordered. I wouldn’t recommend this spot for a large group.

The experience here was one to remember. We are from Texas and they set a standard for New York after being here for days, having been here for days. Cask Bar & Kitchen was the iconic vision of what New York style food and experience should be. Highly recommended ask for Kennedy who was by far the best in her industry. Thank you Cask and thank you Kennedy.
Celebrated a friend's birthday here a few weeks ago. The manager Jenn was super friendly and checking in on our private party often. The oyster mushroom sandwich was delicious as well as the burrata. My favorite item I tried on the menu was the croquettes. Delicious food and very friendly staff.

A hidden gem that’s worth the visit!! On the day of my friends engagement the venue we chose fell through so I called Cask Bar and they were so accommodating on such short notice. We had a large group and they had us in the downstairs area which was perfect for our needs. The food was wonderful and the service even better. Highly recommend!
I loved this place so much and will always remember how great the service was. We got a few drinks that were so amazing and the food even more. The only thing I wish would’ve been better is the proportion—I ordered the lamb nachos and there were just more chips than the other ingredients. Still I would recommend this place highly!
We had a very pleasant experience. Went there on a Fri night; vibe inside was nice with cool mood lighting, service was very good, and food tasty. We had a burger and salmon dishes and a variety of drinks.

Absolutely loved my bottomless brunch experience at Cask. Only place I’ve been with a live DJ, that played amazing music and had everyone singing. The bottomless deal is great & includes brunch cocktails. The espresso martini was the best I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend Cask for a large group brunch / celebration!

Stopped in for Happy Hour, ended up grabbing a table for 4 and staying for dinner. Reservations were required but the opportunity opened and took the table. Drinks were delicious as well as the pub food. Very comfortable environment, friendly accommodating staff. Great time for a Saturday night.
Cost spot for drinks and a long overdue catch up with an old friend. It helped that it was Martini Monday - $10 all night, and expertly made! Happy hour is a good one too. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in town.

We had so much fun! And our waiter Andy was so accommodating! he made sure our drinks we refilled and quality. This is my second time at Cask, my local restaurant, and I will keep coming back! Also the fried chicken sandwhich is so yummy! Pair it with a chocolate Negroni and it's great.
Nice resturant. They have a really nice outdoor seating area. The wings are phenomenal - super well seasoned and juicy. I was not a big fan of the chicken sandwich and found it to be dry. Also the pigs in a blanket wasn’t hot when it was brought out. Reasonably priced with decent food.
I came here with a few girlfriends for brunch, and it was a super chill atmosphere. I got the chicken and waffles which were pretty good and we split a pitcher of the rose sangria. I think the waffles could have been better, but the price of the whole brunch was so affordable!

Had an awesome dinner last Saturday night at the Cask. The food was fantastic, and yes we had the donut holes,..which were worth the calories. Also, the atmosphere was really cool,... up beat and fun. The Cask is definitely a great night out.

Strict with the allotted brunch time. Drinks are watered down. My breakfast burrito wasn’t all that great. Ambiance is great because of the music. Brunch is only really good for bottomless drinks for cheap!
Very nice spot, good service, food was good. Decent list of drafts brews, good selecrion of whiskies from all over. Definitely a go to spot for local people and those who worm ne are r by.
When you're hungover from New Year's Eve, and need a place to recuperate with some good food and drinks, I'd recommend this place. Not even sure how I ended up here, but I liked it.

Nice place, but the menu does not have crab cakes on it.. when I Googled it they said they have crab cakes. Not what I came for but still good.
Great place for Sunday brunch, good service, friendly staff and really delicious food. A good selection of cocktail and wine too.
Great atmosphere, great drinks, great food for brunch/lunch/dinner. And best burger in Murray Hill. Nice spot for any occasion.
Delicious and aesthetically pleasing food. Lovely and attentive service. Beautiful atmosphere as well.
Cask is the greatest. Loved nikki as a waitress. Excellent Mac and cheese.
