I brought my HP Envy laptop in for problems after I dropped it. The staff was nice and took my complaint, a few days later the owner calls to say the device is beyond repair and I probably need to buy a new one. Okay, there wasn't even a charge for the service, so that SEEMED fair. I type this review a year later on that same "dead" laptop. At the time, I was encouraged to buy one of the many remanufactured macs (this review does not reflect thier service on macs- which may be great, but macs are not) throughout the store. Just before I picked up my device, the owner let me know that he "Never read the ticket," meaning he didn't even read my complaint. He said that he just assumed a motherboard problem and sent it to a "motherboard shop." So with never even knowing why I brought the thing in, they send it out for service, find no way to fix it , and declare it dead. It was not dead when I brought it in, but now it was. When I pick it up, I take the time to get out the little screwdrivers from my toolbox and take a look inside. Almost every connection was disconnected, it was like a tornado went off in my computer. Of course I tried a hail mary and swapped the hard drive for a solid state and now I type away on the computer that works better than ever. PCs are not the forte of this business. They have a mural tribute to Apple so I guess that it makes sense that they push that so hard. Still, I felt they ignored my problems, lied about their qualifications with PCs, sent the unit to some place for unnecessary "repairs" on the non-broken motherboard, and gave me back the unit in an inoperable state. Actual repairs were made for free by an amature.

I have used Capital City twice in the last month. Both times I was very happy. They repaired a cracked Ipad screen fast and cheaper than the other spots in town. I don't know about you but when I can't get same day service on something like that I look elsewhere. That's why another place lost my business to Capital City that day. Then I took 2 laptops to them a couple weeks later. They fixed my old laptop that others had said it would be just too expensive too fix for $100. I loved the advice they gave me: "fix it! If you don't want to use it, these things are going for $150 on Craigslist still. You could sell it and make $50." That's going above and beyond. The other one had to have some major work done on it. They were very patient with me deciding whether I wanted to fix it or not. They left it opened up and waiting for me to make up my mind. A week later when I came to pick it up, there was a small misunderstanding on what was being replaced/what the cost would be. Zach, the owner, was very concerned regarding the misunderstanding and went above and beyond to be sure I was satisfied. That is customer service!!!! Just when I would swear to anyone that it didn't exist anymore. Oh ya - my machines are macs. They seem to swing both ways just fine - p,c. and mac!

I stopped into Capital City Computers in East Nashville this afternoon on a recommendation by a neighbor. I was having an issue with my computer that I didn't really know much about and I had tried many methods to fix it myself. I had never had a need to go to a computer repair place before and didn't really know what I was getting myself into. My original problem was with a video card that went out on me, After searching for a computer repair place that was close by I discovered Capital City's East Nashville location was very close by. As luck would have it my computer was worked on by technician Zac (sp). He got back to me very quickly and told me what was wrong and offered a simple solution. I decided to upgrade my video card , Power supply, RAM, and OS. Zac the magnificent has been there for me during the whole process. I could not have done it without his help. I came in to sell some items that I just didn’t need anymore. The man never even looked at me. He was in his phone, very dismissive, just not very pleasant. He answered a phone call of another customer on speaker and it’s like his entire demeanor changed. He was pleasant with the person on the phone. I just think maybe be a little nicer and actually greet people. If I ever need to sell one of my “high end” products I wouldn’t want to come here. The customer service just wasn’t great. He kinda just threw the money at me. No “thank you for coming in” or “have a nice day”. Maybe everyone isn’t as positive as me but idk he just seemed rude. Update: Zach reached out and made sure to apologize. The apology was beyond genuine and greatly appreciated. He explained that he had a bad day and we all go through those so I fully understand. The folks at Capital City are the kind of professionals you can trust with your computer: courteous, competent, and straightforward. When my hard drive went completely kaput with no notice, these guys saved my files without a problem and gave me an honest appraisal of my options going forward. When I told them that I'd opt to replace the hard drive myself, rather than have them do it for me, they didn't try to convince me otherwise so that I'd spend more money with them; instead, they only encouraged me to call if I had any questions that they could help with! In addition to their obvious knowledge, Capital City's honest business earns my trust in every way possible. While I sincerely hope that I'll never have a reason to go back, I won't think twice about where I'm going for my next technology crisis: Capital City is where it's at!

Prior to this, I spent 2 awful hours on the phone with Dell customer support who did nothing but send me in loops to different departments. As a university student without a car, it is hard to physically go to places, so I really lucked out that my university was close to one of the Zach's pickup locations; he really went out of his way to pick it up with the bad traffic and unexpected construction zones. My laptop was given a free diagnostics test the same day. The total cost was about $350 for the screen and the labor which is fair given the other quotes I got for my specific screen (range of 200-500). It takes about a week to fix it (and order this specific screen) versus the Dell quote of 3-4 weeks. Very knowledgable customer service, efficient timing, and great overall experience!

Always a nice experience visiting, whether I leave with something or not. Everyone I've interacted with is both friendly and knowledgeable. I'm not the best person to review this place, though. I'm more of a DIY computer user type, so I don't often need repair service. They don't seem to keep a large inventory of discrete PC components. That's okay though-- if your primary business is repair work, it wouldn't make sense to keep a varied stock of components. But, I have lucked out and scored the odd cable that I've needed. Any time I need a computer part, though, I still stop in. It seems like there's always a chance they might have something I can use, and going in is always pleasant.

I recently broke my work computer and had been told by multiple places it would take at least a week for anyone to even look at it, much less get parts in and get it fixed. I brought it in to Zach at the recommendation of a friend, and his shop took 30 minutes to look at it and diagnose the problem. The computer was still under warranty, so I could have sent it in to get worked on, but I can’t be without a computer for weeks. Zach said he would take care of it, cloned my computer, and gave me a loaner so I wouldn’t be without a CPU. Truly impeccable customer service and at a very reasonable price!! I would definitely recommend Zach and his shop to anyone!

Just wanted to say these guys are the best I happened to see the sign as I was walking down Gallatin avenue and I was looking for a phone compatible with my SNAP program so I can keep in contact with my family and potential work and get off the streets I had $34 in my pocket and he sold me an iPhone 5S unlocked! I was working late on Saturday and heard my computer let out a "POP" and smoke exited the back of the computer. I was certain I was in trouble. Any other repair person would have used this information to sell me a new computer or some major repair that was not needed. I took it to Zach and for under $60.00, I was up and running and back in service. All my business info saved and back on line. I only recommend Zach and CCC and I thank them for being a place I can trust and send my wife to without worrying she will be over charged or lied to.

I bought a Mac from Zach about 2 weeks ago. I am currently out of the country and yesterday my computer wouldn’t turn on which was extremely nerve racking but Zach immediately reached out to help me take care of the issue and after some digging we discovered that it was the charger that had broke. Obviously he couldn’t predict that to happen when he sold it as it looks to be in good condition. He was super helpful and seemed genuinely concerned as we were trying to figure out the issue. We had a dropped Lenovo laptop that had lost its touchscreen capabilities. Zach took us right in and realized that the cpu had been either worked on or tampered with before. I had no knowledge of this and made that clear. Upon further investigation this cpu was worked on before I was in possession of it. Zach clearly knows his stuff and is very experienced in his field. When a glass of wine decided to kill my hard drive, losing thousands of photos from the last 10 years of my life (no, I never backed up my computer...I didn't know that was a thing), I was told by Apple, and a data recovery place that I was out of luck. Zach's expertise and integrity set him far above all others in computer repair. He can fix almost anything at a reasonable price. Recently he helped me extract files from an old computer. When I took the drive home to transfer the files to my desktop, I discovered that my drive was faulty and the files were lost. Even though it was a weekend, Zach quickly responded to my text message. He transferred them again at no charge and even tried his best to resurrect my dead flash drive. I won't take my computer business (repairs or purchases) anywhere else!

I had issues with a computer I built and I could not repair myself. Capital City diagnosed my issue quickly and provided me a solution that fit my needs and budget. I can't rave about Capital City Computers enough! The owner has a total get-it-done attitude, and if he can't do the repair in the time frame promised, he keeps you updated--and delivers your fixed smartphone to your door to make up for the slight delay (true story)! I am repeat customer with Zack and Capital City Computers. The first time was to recover files from an old desktop computer we had that had crashed. They were able to recover most of my important files and all of my family pictures from our travels through the years. They also fixed my laptop and explained thoroughly why I was having that specific hard drive issue which I found out was related to a HP recall. I highly recommend their services and completely trust them with my information.

Like many I went to a Big Box Store for a repair. In 48 days, the Big Box store could not "source" my screen. Zach was able to source a fully equipped new HP top panel. Zach called before repairs, with multiple options in different price ranges of repairs. These guys were fast and helpful. My computer was not connecting to my internet but the internet was working on other devices. They let me know that there was nothing wrong with my computer regarding hardware and software just with the connection to my internet. They didn't charge me to find that out and offered to make a house call to figure out what was going on if what they suggested did not work first. Definitely use them for your computer repairs!

This place has been an absolute pleasure. I had issues with my computer back in April and they did a whole repair for a fraction of the quotes I was getting elsewhere. Recently I got a really high quote for a repair on my girlfriend’s MacBook and so I called here for a second opinion. They did the diagnostic for free and gave me several options for repair. A+ experience from beginning to end. Capital City fixed a broken hinge on my laptop very well, quickly and for a fair price. The free estimate and good communication were greatly appreciated. My screen was actually becoming separated from the rest of the computer because of the broken hinge. Zach was awesome! I took my tv here and he provided free estimate and told me what exactly what was wrong with it and how much it would cost to replace. It was a reasonable price but after talking to my wife about it she wanted a new tv so we didn’t go ahead and proceed with repair however he still was very nice and understandable. I would certainly come back for our future repair needs and recommend this business to family and friends!

I was having serious problems with my computer especially with the email. I took in my computer and Zach worked on it for a week. I spoke with him several times while he was working on it. He told me what he was doing and spent several hours on it. He was finally able to resolve the issues. I was afraid to ask about the price due to the time he spent on it. most things these days cost more to fix than replace. but sometimes you need the particular piece back for the info stored on the drive or sentiment and nostalgia. this place has competitive prices and they will tell you up front whether it's going to be cost effective to fix. they don't try to cheat you out of high dollar repairs just to stay in business. honest and upfront. i would recommend giving them a try for your next repair

I went in with my Mac because after updating it to macOS Monterey, I could not log into my iCloud or iMessages. After looking up solutions myself, I was mortified to find out this was a common issue that many people could not find a solution for. I watched the staff of two here address and help 2-3 costumers at a time, while effectively resolving my issue at the same time. They are very efficient multitaskers, helpful and quick!

We purchased 3 used laptops from Zach with the understanding that if something was wrong with any of them to let him know immediately. After getting them home one of the laptops was over heating, my husband called Zach the next day and he said to bring it back and he would replace it, and he did, he even put a new battery in the laptop since we had trouble with the last one. Such a great place. My iPhone decided to cash out suddenly and so in close proximity and given the stellar reviews I stopped by Capital. The owner Zach was very informative, straight-forward and transparent. 40 minutes later my iPhone was back in like-new condition and the charge was VERY reasonable. Great service! I called Zach early this week with a question about my MacBook Pro, and he was able to give me a quote over the phone and a 24-hour turnaround. Came here for a screen repair and after the first repair my screen was ghost touching/texting. It happened the second time getting it fixed too, which is pretty rare. The owner was happy to fix the problem both times at no charge. Really good people who care about customer satifaction. Will definitely go back for any other repairs I need done.

I’ve had my MacBook Pro since 2014 and it just recently stopped working. I took it to Apple and they quoted me $400 to fix it then suggested I just buy a new computer. I then took it to Capital City and they were able to fix it for way less than half of what Apple told me. Amazing and fast service as well. CANT recommend them enough!

Zach and his team do great work in this tiny place. They are very serious about fixing or improving your gear. My Vizio TV had dark patches where LEDs had gone out (come on, Vizio...) and CCC replaced the full set of lights. The picture looks better than it did new! It was done quickly as well. I'll be back.

These folks are amazing. While there might not be much room in the shop, that's because it's full of repaired equipment from a regular stream of satisfied customers plus good deals on pre-owned stuff. They talk straight and either fix any problems or find the best solutions. Nice guys too. Bravo.

My husband and I went the Monday before Christmas looking for a gaming pc for our son who sent us with a blueprint of what he was looking for. Not only were they able to get us one by Wednesday but it was better than the one my son designed. My son loves his new gaming pc!!! Excellent Service!!!!

I'd like to add another five-star review to the pile. My MacBook Pro wasn't booting up, and I feared the hard drive was toast. In two days, these guys fixed it and saved me the cost of a new computer. The price was very reasonable. I would definitely see them again for any computer repair needs.

5 stars for competence, honesty, and customer service! My 2008 MacBook was out of disk space. Capital City Computers upgraded it with a 500 GB hard drive, saving me the expense of purchasing a new laptop. Zach stayed open past closing time in order to finish and deliver the repair as promised.

Had my PS4 since release so it was packed with dust and debris. Every time I turned it on the fan was loud and it gave an error and overheated when I played any games and powered off. I took it to these guys and they explained what they did and got it done quick and reasonable. Thank you Zac!

The best. I flew in from Santa Rosa Beach, FL, which does not have a good Apple repair store. I was only going to be in Nashville for three days. Zach was on it immediately. Found the problem, ordered the battery and in two days I had my laptop back. Less than $225. AMAZING. LOVE THESE GUYS.

Capital City was great! I came to them with a broken phone & while they could have very easily taken my phone and fixed for me they explained to me that there was actually a way I could have it fixed for free! I am super thankful to them for helping me save money! Very honest guys!

Was in Smashville for Preds games from Virginia and developed problems with my MacBook Air that runs Bootcamp with MacOS and Windows 10. The guys took my laptop in around 3 pm and had it back to me by 5 pm for a very fair price. Completely satisfied and highly recommend.

In and out in an hour to replace a battery for a Mac. Cost was about $20 more than buying one online and doing it myself. Since I was having an eye problem, I was happy to let these guys handle it. Great work. Will go back for their refurbs when this one finally dies.
