Finally! Got to explore the garden at the junction of Balwyn & Canterbury Rd which always looked inviting driving past. While it is more of a park, a small one at that - it does have a deep gully sloping terrain in the middle with a hidden creek.. Bitumen paths along the top & one cutting through over the bridge. Dogs & cyclists allowed. With the busy drone of traffic along Canterbury Rd even on a Sunday - it is not exactly tranquil. No playground but has a gazebo for added interest & plenty of garden seats. The limited floral plantings & parterre are along the Station side & back boundary. Has potential for smaller gravel pathways to enable a good workout given the sloping terrain. The beaut feature of this garden is the massive oak trees & elms that provide a cool canopy. There is one BBQ & bench table. Just walk through from Surrey Hill station carpark where you will find a park on weekends. Toilet at park entry on Canterbury Rd or at train station.

This is one of the most beautiful parks in Melbourne. The park spans a small space, but is located in a very convenient location, right next to the Canterbury station. The park is a little hilly, and has very well maintained paths. The park has wide variety of plants, all very very well maintained. There is only one covered space in the park though, which is too less for a park this beautiful. The park also has toilets for convenience of visitors.

You have to go and visit Proposal Bridge at the bottom of the gardens. You too can imagine this as the place you would want to propose at, and is even better at night when the lights turn on. There is also a band stand, bbq, a table/ chairs and benches with plenty to go and see. You have to be a little fit to go down to the bridge but the experience is worth it. It is a bit of of an incline so not for those with unsure footing.

A beautiful garden right next to Canterbury Train station. This garden is very well maintained and is always kept neat and clean. It's a lovely location to relax or take a stroll. The gardens themselves are very pretty and a delight to to observe, and there is also a pavilion and barbecue at the garden. Each year at Christmas time the garden also hosts a Christmas carols event which is a fun evening if you can attend.

This I must say is my favourite park to wonder through. I must take the train here. But there is a certain romantic ambience, a feeling to the air which I cannot say I've found elsewhere in Melbourne. There is something definitely charming about this modest park. A space for all peoples, the thinkers and the romantics most so. Bring a lady friend, and have a picnic in this fantastic park.

A really nice old park nestled between Canterbury station and Canterbury road. There's plenty of car parking in the railway car park for visitors although spots maybe lacking during work days. It's peaceful and lush with aged tree canopies that provide welcome shade. It would be nice if the council could provide additional picnic benches for families and some swings for the kids.

One of the greatest parks in Melbourne. Very beautiful and classically English. And actually probably the greatest Melbourne venue for iceblocking thanks to some good slopes and perfect lawns, but an absolutely first class location for an elegant picnic. Lovely paths and a cute little bridge, a rotunda and vast amounts of space.

If you like strolling around and taking the fabulous scents and smells of spring time. Grab a friend, pack a picnic and chill out in the grounds here. Delightfully located near Canterbury road and shops. You won't see anyone rushing around here. The gardens are always very well maintained to be enjoyed by all.

Very picturesque walk even in the colder months but even better in spring and summer. Concrete pathways, seating, BBQ's, drinking water and toilets among the infrastructure provided. Plenty of shade from numerous mature trees if required and some good sized open areas as well.

  • Kerry La Vale

Picturesque and tranquil gardens. Paved paths, rolling hills, large, old trees and pretty plants. Lovely for a picnic, to sit and reflect or have a stroll after visiting shops or having lunch in nearby Maling Rd. A beautiful spot to take family photos, especially in autumn.

This is a beautiful park. However, it is small. So if you a wanting to set aside some time for a stroll one afternoon. Ten minutes should do it. In its small surrounds. It is quite steep in parts. So if you are using a self propelled

This place is a very green and lush garden that is great for a stroll or just sitting down and taking it all in. While I was there as part of a scouts activity we slid down the hill on blocks of Ice on the steep slope. Great fun

Reminded me of a scene from "Midsomer Murders'. Quaint little English style village and a beautiful green garden , complete with someone painting a portrait of the beautiful Roses.

Nice gardens, currently undergoing some landscaping work. Should be good when finished. Picnic/BBQ facilities limited as there is only one small table and a single hotplate.

Really lovely gardens and a great spot for a picnic. There's a lovely rotunda that you can book, but aside from this, there's very little undercover area.
