Very emotional writing this review. I have been going to Caffe Beano every single day since working at my new office. I have referred my friends family and coworkers to go to this cafe with having usually a great experience. Today however was the last day I will go there. I ordered a small coffee that was a total of $3, after receiving the coffee I went to put my fixings in. I was approached by one of the employees to say my card was declined loudly, I went back to pay again and the machine said declined again. It was impossible, I had more than enough funds to pay and while checking my bank account on my app I saw the -3.00 charge went through on my end. I showed the guy who was serving me that the charge did go through and he asked another older lady in the back what to do and she said I don’t care if it didn’t go through on machine it’s not paid for. Then he had every other associate look at my bank account- MEANWHILE THE WHOLE COFFEE SHOP WAS LISTENING AND NOT BEING SERVED IN LINE. This is the most embarrassing situation I’ve ever been in especially working in the customer service industry this is a huge no. With tears down my face I gave them the coffee back, said this is absolutely disheartening and unfortunately will no longer visit this spot again. I’ve never seen any other of their more important regulars treated in such a way. And all over a 3$ coffee that I clearly paid for and didn’t get to enjoy.

Love coming here while working in Calgary's Beltline areas of Connaught and/or Victoria Park. The service is always quick, the staff are kind and professional, and the decor is great (check out the photos); they have a community bulletin board and they feature some beautiful artwork done by super cool and mostly local artists. They make a great lattè, and excellent dirty chai, and all of their food is spectacular! 11/10 would recommend, 12/10 will be back soon! ❤️

Updated Review. Place isn't what it used to be. Service is much slower than previously, and unfortunately menu seems to have either shrunk or been tweaked over the years, but with no obvious improvements in choice or quality. The staff are nice enough, but it can be pretty slow at times. They don't call out drinks or names, so when it's busy, expect to spend some time trying to figure out what drink is yours. Observationally, hiring seems to not always have been based on work ethic or customer service skills, but some other arbitrary measure (love of poetry slams maybe?). You'll often see staff just standing around or looking sullen even when there is cleaning to be done. The inside is quaint, but obviously in need of some upkeep. Old janky seating which isn't super comfortable and an awkward height for the tables and diner seating upfront. If you're taller than 5'5", expect to hunch. They used to have great chalk art (see "cream-a-torium"), but that is now gone - instead they've got random menus distributed so your head will be on a swivel at the front. I still try to patronize this place as it is iconic, but I expect very little these days, which sucks.

Alas, I’d love to give 5 stars. The location and space is awesome. The food is pretty good, the coffee great. Baked goods mostly great but likely simply due to personally preference. Everything always seems great and I’m always hopeful. A few of the staff just seem like they really have a hard time interacting with humanity, like it’s all they can do to even look at me when I order my overpriced treats. I’m always polite, I say thanks, please, don’t order anything complicated, basic stuff. I don’t understand how people can work with the public when they seem to despise it so much. I love everything there but interacting with that person who seems to be happy there because they’ve been there for quite a while, and seem very competent with the actual logistical part of their job. A smile or just some acknowledgement that you’re interacting with a human, who could easily go anywhere else, wouldn’t go amiss.

As a woman visiting Calgary, I had the pleasure of discovering Caffe Beano, conveniently located on 9 St SW in the charming neighborhood. This independent coffee shop offers a warm and cozy atmosphere, complemented by their top-notch coffee, which has won over the hearts of both locals and visitors. The friendly staff made me feel genuinely welcome and well-attended to, contributing to the inviting ambiance. In addition to their excellent coffee, Caffe Beano serves a variety of teas, delightful baked goods, and light meals that suit any time of the day. The café's relaxed environment, adorned with local artwork, provided a perfect space for socializing, working, or simply enjoying some me-time. I wholeheartedly recommend Caffe Beano on 9 St SW to anyone searching for a unique and enjoyable café experience in Calgary.

For a café to have serviced all kinds of people since the time it has opened, it's beginning to lose it's value and perhaps principles. Used to love this place, but since the new mandates, I'm very disappointed in the way they chose to discriminate people who can't provide proof of vax for just a simple coffee take-out. The man...wait no the "boy" at the cash register on Oct 5 had the nerve to judge my friend and I with the way he looked at us up and down maybe because we decided not to dress up as professionals that day and addressed us like we weren't valued customers. Thankfully, another coffee shop across the street was willing to serve us coffee regardless of the mandates businesses are coerced into following. Where is the humanity in all this? I will no longer be recommending this place to anyone and will gladly be taking my business elsewhere.

Love that coffeeshop! They have amazing lattes and matcha lattes as well. Nice place to sit in front of their coffeeshop too. The only thing I’d say they could improve on is to offer their payment machine to accept credit cards as well! I’m even surprised it’s not a requirement yet in 2020! Edit: Not sure what they changed or if they changed something recently to their milk or coffee but when I picked up some latte and cappuccino today they were tasting like they added some sweetener to them (either it was a sweetened almond milk or they added some honey to them) but it was sweet! Even at the bottom of the cup I could see the remaining sugar either of the milk or again the sweetener. I love their coffee but I have to say, I was highly disappointed because I hate sweet in my coffee.

  • Jordan

Good coffee but poor service when it comes to food. Patiently waited 20 minutes for a bagel and cream cheese (they were not busy), when the cashier guy finally clued in that I was still waiting I overhear him chatting with the other staff saying something about someone being in the bathroom, not what you want to hear about the guy preparing your food, anyway someone else finally makes it and gets the order wrong. My patience ran out at this point and I ended up just leaving. It’s too bad because the coffee is good, but with so many other good options in the area I will go somewhere where they actually seem to care about service standards.

Headline: Good coffee, rude staff. Been a long time fan of this place. They make excellent coffee and have a nice vibe. Their staff has usually been incredibly nice as well. However last time I went the staff were rude and surprisingly passive aggressive. I hope it's a one off thing but with so many great coffee shops in the area I am not inclined to visit Beano again after my last experience. All in all, good coffee but surprisingly rude staff. If you're in the area, maybe look at other options first.

Came for the hot chocolate as boasted as one of the better spots for a clean, no frills and authentic melted chocolate type of drink. It was exactly that definition and great to find no weird after taste. The hot chocolate goes from $5.50-5.75. you can also bring your own mugs here to be more environmental. Lots of seats here but gets rather busy. They also serve food items such as baked goods or bagels. Lots of drink variety here. The busyness represents the customer loyalty they do have.

There's usually a line in the mornings, around lunch and for the early evenings. The coffee drinks and espresso are very consistently good. The selection of baked goods are small, and on the expensive side, but delicious. The sandwiches through Sidewalk Citizen are great. The staff are efficient, and for the most part super nice. I've been going here when I can for six years on and off, and many of the same staff still work there. For a place to grab coffee and food on the, Beano is still my unchallenged local favorite. The staff at analogue overall have been nicer on the balance of my visits, but the coffee is worse.

  • James Mclean

Have to agree with the people on here about the lack of friendly service. No smile no hello no how are you today? Barista didn’t even acknowledge me or even put the lid on my coffee..... I saw a stack of papers and went to grab one not realizing there was a small note above them that said “for purchase”. The girl at the till said “actually those are for purchase k? Thanks.” And then just looked away. Coffee was good, but this day and age that’s the bare minimum of a decent coffee shop in the downtown core of any city. It’s my first time here and unfortunately that small interaction will make it my last time.

  • Kace B.

They don’t do credit, only debit/cash; seems pretty odd for a location right on 17 ave. Service was not entirely great. I had to wait a bit to get my drink even though I was the only one in line... turned out the people were just busy chatting. Treat was incredibly overpriced but tasted about average. It’s almost the same price as drinks!!! No wifi... so basically they don’t want you to hang around with your laptop there... One positive thing: the drink I got was decent enough. Different. However, I’m not too sure drinking from a bowl of hot chocolate Tried it. Won’t come back again

  • Stephen Wilson

Today I had an overpriced small brewed coffee there for $3.00. It wasn't even very good or hot. They don't take credit cards and they don't even have wifi. Their outside seating consists of hard uncomfortable benches. Are we out in some picnic area or what? No class. So, for that ordinary high priced coffee they can't even offer their customers the convenience of being able to use a credit card or the courtesy of using wifi or comfortable seating. I hadn't been to Caffe Beano in several years prior to today and I certainly won't be going back anytime soon.

  • Kirill Gaevski

A pretty average coffee shop. I have come in closer to the end of the day The coffee I got tasted burnt, I definitely had better ones. The choice of deserts was lacking. The design of the place is probably the same from what was there before, which looks like an 80's diner. The choice of music in the place was interesting. I found out later that, apparently, the place had existed here for 30 years. The design hasn't been updated and the retro look is on purpose... Not sure if that makes it any better.

The best soy London fog I've had! I forget who told me to try one, but I'm glad they did. I don't visit often but the staff have been great each time I've stopped by. Sidenote: I have a fine motor skill disability and their larger 'to stay' mugs are very hard to handle (mostly because they don't have handles!). I've had trouble with drinking beverages there, even though they kindly carried it to my table when I asked. I'd recommend asking for a to-go cup if you experience similar issues, even if you're staying, or bringing your own travel mug.

  • Larry Desmeules

I have gone in with my puppy before and ordered drinks and food to go, no problem. I held him in my arms, no one said a thing. Go in today, some old guy paying says "you're bringing your dog in here?" Well yeah. The store cashier looks at the old man, looks at me and says yeah sorry no dogs. Thanks dude, you've lost my business and I don't mind if I need to go further to get coffee. Better service is worth the walk. I am not leaving my dog who costs thousands of dollars outside unwatched to be stollen, no thank you. I'll go elsewhere.

I recently visited Caffe Beano in Canada and was pleasantly surprised by their delicious coffee and cozy atmosphere. The Mocha was one of the best I've ever had, with a perfect balance of chocolate and espresso. The Biscotti was also a standout, with a crunchy texture and just the right amount of sweetness. Overall, I highly recommend Caffe Beano for a great cup of coffee and a relaxing vibe.

Went here for coffee. This place is alright. Ordered a Cafe latte and it was ok. The reason for the low ranking is this place does not accept credit cards as a method of payment which is ridiculous. I understand it is a cost for a business but when you charge a premium for beverages you should accept credit card. Also I ordered two cookies and they were stale. They looked good but when I ate them they were stale and awful. You better off going to another coffee place on 17th Ave for quality coffee.

  • John William Wade

Amazing Cafė Mocha here! It is served in a proper bowl, hot AND has ACTUAL CHOCOLATE shaved right on top! They really hit the mark on serving a chocolaty delight! The layout of the actual café is unique. It is chopped up so it offers a variety of seating locations to have a private conversation. Unfortunately it is impossible for anyone with mobility issues to come inside and stay. There are stairs everywhere here right from the entrance. As long as you are able bodied, you will enjoy it here!

  • Genegie B

One of my favorite places for a coffee fix and has a Vietnamese ice or hot drink. Their coffee isn't sour or too acidic and has just the right amount of robust flavor. A great place for any activities from people watching, work, meet up or catching up with friends. I tried their quiche and it was great, soft and fluffy with right amount of crust texture and the balsamic offers a unique taste with a side of veggies. Price is on point and affordable for what you get, and I would go back again.

  • Chris

Super pretentious coffee shop with high prices and an incredible cappuccino. I don't make a habit of visiting Beano. It's generally my fallback option if analog is full. That said, the staff are generally pretty friendly and the product is decent. The prices are certainly higher than other coffee shops in their class, and it's hard to tell what they sell outside of coffee when you first come in. Definitely a valuable player in the beltline coffee scene, while not my favorite of the bunch.

This was our first visit to Caffe Beano as we wanted to try their submission for the 2021 YYC Hot Chocolate Festival. My husband went in to order and purchase while I waited in the car with our son. I was impressed with the outdoor seating (which is currently closed due to COVID) and he was impressed with the flow inside. The one way path really helps with social distancing and adds comfort to the experience. Looking forward to coming back when we can enjoy the inside seating again!

  • Dustin Paisley

Always a great local coffee shop to stop into. With no lack of choices on 17th Ave, Beano is definitely a great choice. The staff seem to love working there, which shows in their attentive care to the coffee and drinks they serve. I will give 5 stars when I can pay by Credit Card :). Last I visited, they accepted cash and debit only. Most meetings are expensed via credit card so it adds an extra step. However, great coffee, service, and atmosphere make up for it!

  • Ellen Incognito

Tried this place for the first time this past weekend. Figured it was time after living in the city and walking by several times.. there is ALWAYS a line up outdoors. I ordered an iced latte, it was okay. I don't know that it was necessarily worth the longer wait than any of the other similar cafes on 17th. My husband felt the same about the Americano ordered. Atmosphere appeared really cute and inviting inside, but still not open to patrons during COVID.

  • Maddi Goodman

Good coffee but that’s about it! I’ve been here many times and the service is always terrible. I’ve worked in the service industry for 9 years and have no trouble brushing off a bad day or an awkward interaction but the baristas here are extremely rude about paying with credit or asking about wifi. They have no wifi and no outlets. I love being able to get homework done in coffee shops and I think it’s a little silly to not provide wifi in 2022!

  • Alice Agapiou

A cute and clean cafe with a unique menu. The staff are friendly and tables and washrooms are clean! It's right off 17th Ave so it's easy to find. I had the chamomile peppermint tea and thought it was really unique how they use loose leaves in a small metal teapot and gave me a strainer, mug, plate, and the teapot so I could refill my cup as many times as I wanted! Definitely returning to try some of the coffees and bagels :)

  • Louisa Adria

Such a bright, lively place. I wish I could stay all day. The staff are so lovely and the service is fast, clean, correct, and of course the food and drinks are delicious. I've never seen a cafe this clean, honestly. There's tasteful art on the walls and painted on the windows and a thoughtful little station where you can even pick up coffee ground compost for your garden. Everyone should know about this gem; they're lovely.

Went here years ago on a visit to Calgary as a teenager and really liked it. I’ve since ended up moving to Calgary and now live in beltline. Was on a walk recently and found out I live close by so I went again and it was just as good as I remember. I must say It’s Impressive that it’s still so good 7+ years later. I’ll definitely be back now that I know I live so close.

Because of the YELLOW AND BLUE BATHROOM KEYS! I will be coming here forever because I can go in whichever washroom I choose instead of being gender type cast as a " yellow key" because I am not a "blue key" kind of guy!! I am so impressed with this, but not just this, that I visit nearly EVERY DAY! So, come join us... Coffee's On! First, for excellent coffee and fresh, homemade treats. I love Love LOVE!!! CAFE BEANO!

  • Matthew

A coffee shop without wifi in 2021? When I asked if they had wifi they acted like I had asked a ridiculous question. I just wanted to get some homework done, but lesson learned. They have no problem posting signs literally everywhere about their rules and what not, maybe advertise that you don't have wifi for your customers. Coffee isn't bad, but if you're looking to get some work done, keep looking...

  • Kristy Chen

Really nice place, I love the decor and ambience. There are lots of comfy seats and cute tables, it’s a great place to hangout for a bit and enjoy a warm drink. The staff were very helpful and nice, I got a tea misto and was probably a tad annoying as I asked a million questions about it. But everyone was very friendly and I would definitely come back.

Caffe Beano is undeniably a Calgary gem. My family has been going for eons! Aside from the coffee, I'd say the best chocolate milkshakes ever - a huge part of my childhood and the reason I stop by whenever I can! (Also great: their chocolate espresso milkshakes). They're well-made, using Callebaut chocolate. Caffe Beano has what I would describe as a... very authentic coffee shop vibe.

This was a great place going back some years ago when the other options on 17th were Tim Hortons and Waves. A few staff members are friendly. Mostly it's disgruntled, rude, cliché hipsters working there. The coffee is fine, there are some GF and vegan options for those that need them. Now that there are so many different cafes in the same area, this place is worth missing.

  • Jeff Kahane

One of the best coffee places in Calgary in terms of their beans and always exceptional service. They also make absolutely delicious cookies. It can get tight in the shop but they have lots of room outside in the summer. Worth the wait. HINT: one of the best milkshakes in the city. In the summer people come for the milkshakes and many people don’t even know the serve them

  • HelloToEarth

Slow service and was denied even making a TAKEOUT order until I showed proof of vaccination. When I asked if I could search the phone quickly while he took my order the cashier denied me and made the entire line wait instead. Wouldn't have docked rating points if it wasn't for the insulting and smug nature of the cashier I had to deal with. Will not be returning.

  • Jette Alexiuk

Gosh the coffee was spectacular. I ordered a standard americano and it was to die for. The atmosphere was really warm and welcoming! I only knock it down a star because the savoury pumpkin seed spinach muffin was lack lustre (and wasn’t cheap). Otherwise stellar spot!

Was really disappointed. Heard this place was great. Ordered two extra hot caps. Watched the girl expertly making some and when my time came a gentlemen jumped in because it was getting busy. He sloshed my caps together, no blending just foam on espresso. Not worth the $4.85 each I paid. If I wanted this quality I would go to Tim Hortons.

Items I tried today: - YYC hot choco: I personally dont like matcha taste so this is not the right one for me - Vietnamese ice coffee: as a Viet, I am suprise that it's taste ways better than I expect. Not so many western coffee shops serving Viet Coffee, you must try if you want something new. *friendly staff and nice decor outside

Here for the hot chocolate festival and the manager came and asked our opinion on it which was nice! Also had the mushroom quiche, good for a light lunch. Cute cafe on 17th definitely worth checking out. Doesn't take credit card, and was a little rude about it when I didn't notice the sign. Something to keep in mind when visiting

  • Jiggity Jeff

I’ve been a very long time fan of this place and make a point to go every time I’m back in town visiting as I consider it to be a Calgary staple. Coffee is consistent and food is decent. Staff can be hit or miss at times. Been a long time gem and hope they can keep it up!

The product offering is amazing, and the drinks are fantastic. Service, however, is left to be desired. A simple greeting with a smile and a quick "thank you" goes a long way and really not difficult to do. Slinging a drink and then immediately going back to congregate with fellow employees is pretentious and unprofessional.

  • Edgeworld Pictures

Best coffee in Calgary. No question about it. Pull up outside, go in, order, sit and write, chat, meet people. Hot Vietnamese is divine. This is the UN of coffee shops in so far as many people from a diverse background call this their coffee shop. It's great! There are no pretences here - all is welcome. My dog loves Beano.

  • Madi Wright

Great coffee but the prices are a little hard to swallow, especially for the size. If you want to treat yourself or can't think of a good date activity, you may want to try coming here. The location is also key to my review as it is just off of 17th and there is plenty of parking. All in all, an above average coffee shop!

  • Kenton Smith

Food and coffee are both good. Nice that there are some gluten free options, including bagels (and they're good too). Be aware that it's cash or debit card only. I understand not accepting credit cards for a $5 coffee, but when spending $20+ on food and drink, it would be nice to have the option of credit card.

This is a great coffee shop! The staff and regulars are very friendly and welcoming. Their coffee is really good, and are not overpriced like other coffee shops on 17th. Their bagels are what I get most excited about when I visit Beano! It’s a great place to hang out with friends, or for a casual meeting.

I noticed the lady before me received better customer service than I did, I felt as this was racially motivated and I felt super unwelcome. My mom and I come here every once in awhile, and this will for sure be the last time. The drink I got was okay but it did not make up for the bad customer service.

I’ve been a few times now and it’s always a good experience! Staff are friendly and it’s overall just a feel good, diner style cafe! I tried the yyc hot chocolate fest seasonal hot chocolate, which is a matcha mint hot chocolate! It was so good! Worth a try before hot chocolate fest is over!

beano was good but they take like 15 minutes to make a bagel and they’re almost always burnt! :-) they also keep giving me CHUNKY drinks, doesn’t matter if it’s coffee or or like iced chai this has happened several times now and also sometimes drinks taste like SOAP or like NOTHING at all

  • Stephen Shirt

This place has stood the test of time, and has been open for 30 years for a reason. They have a created a social place to enjoy a good cup of coffee and some good desserts. I appreciate their compliance to the COVID mandates. I recommend trying the Vietnamese style latte, it is my go to.

  • Lindsay Manery

I mostly come here for the chocolate milkshakess which are amazingly creamy, but the Beano Roast is fantastic as well. The only annoying part is that they don't accept credit card, which I understand given fees. It's a minor detail, but I typically only carry my credit card for payment.

  • Mandi Schrader

One of the last truly great coffee shops in the city. The coffee is excellent and the hot chocolate is the absolute best. Really good muffins and cookies too. You never know what fun local weirdos you’ll run into. This has been my favourite coffee shop for a decade and a half.

  • Jessi B (Jess)

I love it here. Best hot chocolate ever. Good eats. Staff could use a bit of an attitude adjustment. Maybe learn some customer service. They just seem like snobs. And dont have much care for looking like they combed their hair or washed their clothes. I have my faves though.

Terrific coffee, wonderful set up and environment and a neighbourhood must-stop! However, the bagel sucks. Given it plenty of shots but it always comes out rock hard and the slices are really thin. Unfortunately neither prosciutto nor cream cheese can salvage that.

What a great place to get a fantastic hot chocolate on a cold day, or any other day. Lots of selection of goodies and great service.

This place is one of the biggest gems in this city. Their traditional cappuccino is seriously outstanding, so flavourful and delicious. I have tried many "great" coffee places in Calgary, but Beano remains the absolute winner. Worth the trip/painful parking.

  • Olga Courtnage

One of the best coffee spots in the area. Great seating outside, dogs are welcome. Matcha latte is amazing, so are lattes. Delicious savoury muffins and if you are with kids - kids hot chocolate is a must, with whip cream and chocolate sprinkles, of course.

Rachelle and Dylan are just the nicest ladies, I see Rachelle often when ordering the best coffee in the world (Vietnamese Hot Coffee). It's a cool vibe, nice people and amazing drinks. I highly recommend this place and then some!

Good little coffee shop, a touch overpriced, but tasty. The baked goods are SUPER FLUFFY! kinda like a croissant. Which is tasty, but I was not expecting my cinnamon bun to be filled with air. Pretty small venue, but good for professional meetings.

  • Boris Vujanovic

The beano blend roast and milkshakes are incredible, but not accepting credit cards is a big negative for me. I know the fees suck, I own a business as well, but it makes for a poor customer experience and prevents me from visiting more often.

One of my favorite Coffee Shops in Calgary. I have been coming here for years now multiple times a week. Coffee is great and you have a wide variety of desserts and cookies that are gluten free. Quiches are too notch Benches outside are

Came here on Sunday during mid-day. Very busy but still found some seats at the bar chairs facing the window. Good coffee and an excellent selection of drinks on the menu. I wish they had more dessert choices and credit card payment option.

Love this place! That outside seating area! And the interior layout make this a great place to meet others. As a meeting spot between those you know or to meet someone new! I think of Beano as a local community establisment. The drink and

Coffee was okay, nothing to write home about. I recieved a gift card for this place from a friend so wanted to check it out but over the course of 2-3 years, each time I went here they were unable to use the gift card (machine down, gift

What a terrible Customer Service experience today. We went for the hot chocolate offering, and although the drink itself was ok (but not great or worth the cost), there were many problems. The chocolate/chai mix is stuck at the bottom of

The staff was very friendly and the seating area is nice, but the drink I had today sucked. Paid 8 bucks for a dirty chai that had an english breakfast teabag in it, and the bottom of the cup was super grainy so I couldn't finish it.

  • James Park

Espresso milkshake is a must try. Along with their gluten free baked goods. (The person at the front happens to match my drink color at the time of photo)

Simply the best! Better than all the rest! The coffee is better than anyyywhere. The staff could smile a bit more. But when your coffee is that good, and the vibe is that hip, who wants to smile anyway? Drink yer coffee n shut up.

A good spot to enjoy a cup of coffee on the 17th Ave. If you have a sweet tooth, recommending to try their Vietnamese Coffee and chocolate chip cookie!

I grew up coming here with my nana, and I love that I still frequent it today. It’s such a nostalgic place that reminds me of her. Staff are warm and friendly and the drinks are great as ever

Two of us stopped in for coffee after work, Friday. The drinks were great, the food was good. However, the staff was somewhat distracted -had to remind them we had ordered cookies- and the washrooms were not the cleanest.

This a great hidden little cafe! Great service and great drinks! Gotta support this local gem! It's always busy and full of locals! Perfect space to get some work done as well if you need to get away from your usual spot.

Latte was really good. Lacks food options but the coffee is great. Seating is also really nice. Make sure to come early as it gets busy

If only I can give this place a negative 5 rating. I usually come here for the coffee because they have one of the best coffee in the city but the service today was something I haven't seen in my life. The staff

Hot chocolate is decent and the service is.. unique? Inside is a bit dated and not somewhere I'd want to sit long but there is a lot of out door seating if the weather is nice. There are better shops on 17.

  • BillieJean Bunyan

Amazing customer service! Went here for the first time to order a Vietnamese coffee. The best coffee I've ever had hands down. Would definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven't already :)

Best morning glory muffins!! One of the first cafes I visited when I moved to the city 10 years ago and remains one of my favourite!! Love grabbing a coffee and sitting outside!

Had some time to kill before church next door and hadn't had breakfast yet. The late was the best value, tasty and reasonably priced but the food! Holy. Otherwise would've given this place 5 stars.

  • Alyce Koran

It’s cute, but not as cute as some of the other coffee shops on 17th ave. Place seems very chaotic, anxious, and kinda crusty, but still good food and service. (not for those with a tight budget)

  • B Ross

Laid back vibes, love the chai, used to love the coffee as well but don’t drink coffee anymore. Love the art on the walls and all the loyal customers enjoying coffee outside. Always a favourite.

Had great coffee while visiting the place with my kids on this cool coffee shop on 17th Av. Will return for breakfast

Caffe beano always has excellent coffee. I have never had a negative experience with the beverages, always top notch. The only negative I've noticed is how loud the music inside the cafe is.

Very chic cafe with a wide array of delicious drinks and food. Good espresso and a unique breakfast sandwich. Cash or debit only!

Cutest baristas on 17th AND so many dogs outside to pet. Coffee is good and there's some free parking just a block up if you're driving and don't believe in paying for parking.

Vegan Hot chocolate for yyc hot chocolate a sad experience. Not hot, no whipped topping. First time they forgot the mint flavouring. They could have had coconut whip cream ….
