I would not recommend going to Cafe Caprice to anyone! The hostess was not welcoming or friendly after we greeted her in a pleasant manner and said that we’re meeting our friends who had booked a table. After being seated, we requested the bottle that we had ordered and paid for a few months ago - they apparently take your name down and “keep” the bottle for you should you not finish it. At the time my boyfriend asked the waitress if he shouldn’t also just leave his ID or cell phone number and she said “no”. To our surprise the bottle that we paid for and they were supposed to “keep” for us, was not there. So we wasted money on a basically full bottle of alcohol (after being kicked out at closing time) and weren’t “reimbursed” for it. This has already left us disappointed and quite annoyed. Furthermore, my friend ordered the Pollo Pasta and was ready to eat until she found a LONG strand of HAIR in her food! Does your chef not wear a hairnet? Later, that same friend had a thick piece of glass in her shot glass. Generally, at any supposed “high end” establishment, they accommodate their customers for any inconveniences. Such as a free meal after finding a long strand of hair in the first one and deducting that amount paid for the missing bottle of alcohol that they were supposed to keep. On top of it all, we were basically chased away, even though we had booked the table first and paying a deposit, because they double booked the table. So, don’t waste your hard-earned money at this pretentious, sly and unsanitary establishment.

Racist much?? I tried to get in tonight and the 2 ‘gentlemen’ at the door stop me and ask if i am meeting anyone inside. I said no and told them i just wanted to get a drink at the bar, they then tell me not so politely to stand there.. i figure its busy inside and i just have to await my turn. I then stand and watch a couple come and get directed to the bar immediately.. im not one to scream racism so i figure there is probably an explanation. I continue to wait. On 3 occasions, people show up and are courteously ushered in, no mention of reservations. I then ask the gentlemen again if can’t go to the bar, “maybe they forgot about me”, i think to myself.. again they ask if im meeting anyone inside and when i say no they just ignore me and continue their conversation.. I know i don’t smell particularly bad, and i don’t look like a hooligan, so i wonder what if could be Perhaps its the fact that i was alone? That’s probably it. don’t go alone Booo

Firstly, my friend and I were there on a Friday evening. Apparently Carpice strictly closes at 00:00 on a Friday night and will basically kick you out. My experience was actually attributed to receiving shocking service from a bartender. My friend and I were sitting at bar the entire time we were there, directly ordering from the bartender. It wasn't busy at all. We ordered an old fashioned, waited over 20 minutes, for the bartender to not even start on our drinks. I only said something, when he started helping another customer. I then asked him, where our drinks were, he snapped at me, that he was making them. Then calls over another bartender to make them (who was friendly and apologetic, at least). However, the damage had been done. This is supposed to be a high end establishment, I pay these prices to be treated with a high level of decorum, which was not adhered to, and I'm highly disappointed.

Café Caprice in South Africa is a disappointing place to visit. The waiters lack attentiveness, displaying incompetence and rudeness. They deliberately take their time to serve you, even prioritizing other customers before you. They forget about your needs and simply brush it off with a half-hearted apology. They fall short of meeting the expectations of their clientele and fail to cater to the needs of their customers. Overall, it's not up to the standard one would expect from a coffee establishment catering to discerning clients. About the racism, I have to say they were not racist at all with me, they were just unprofessional. But yes, there is a lot of racism in South Africa. Not in this place, unless for me. But I fully support the black community. And I also say no to Racism

Lovely way to enjoy the sunset on a Tuesday evening. Their 2-4-1 burgers on Tuesday were great. The burgers had such great flavor and the special made them really good value for money. The only problem with the evening I had was that I felt like a second rate customer just because we came for the burger special and we were students. A fair amount of the drinks and wines are out of a normal students budget so it was not pleasant when our waitress gave us disgusted looks when we initially ordered a jug of water and the burger special. I know we were cheaper spenders than the average guest but I definitely feel we don’t deserve to be treated differently and be her lowest priority constantly as we are still guests. However still a really good night as we were impressed with the food and view. Bad service can’t put a damper on a great view.

What can we say..... Great great great...... Pre booked space in their veuve clicquot bar for my wife's 60th birthday lunchtime drinks and snacks. Had a birthday cake delivered directly to them for a surprise, which they helped with. Big shout out for Tinki for all the help arranging this. Could not have gone anymore to plan and all the staff were professional, polite, helpful and fun ( Thanks for the happy birthday singing delivery of the cake to the table ). Food is okay, nothing special. Some of the waitresses might make you feel uncomfortable if they don't like the amount of tip you are willing to pay. When I wrote down a rounded-up amount, she briefed us about the common tip rates in Cape Town. This is only acceptable when your service is great, honey. Not when you stack up everything on the table. There is a reason starters are called starters, the mains should come after a while. Don't let the reviews trick you, I am sure there are way better places to eat around.

Incredible location, stunning new decor, staff phenomenal. We had a beautiful evening with lovely food, friendly staff and a gorgeous setting. Highly recommend. We went on a week night, so it was a bit quiet but really enjoyable. The new renovation decor is gorgeous. We had my mother who was in a wheelchair and it was very easy to have her join us.

This restaurant is definitely NOT family friendly. The waitresses were not welcoming. It took very long for us to be served. In the time the table next to had various drinks, ate and paid for the bill we only had our first drinks given to us. My husbands drink wasn't good at all and the food is really not worth it. I am really shocked to have had such a terrible experience.

Absolutely five star experience, amazing hospitality, great food and such a cool atmosphere. Had the best lunch date with my best friend who recently got engaged! Its a nice spot....not sure if just our food choices but my Banana bread was like a lump of cement and the beautiful presentation of the dish definitely didn't make the grade with the taste. Have literally never had such dry banana bread ever....at R80 for 2 slices its a little bit exorbitant. Hubby's omelette was also nothing to write home about. Not all negative the waitress was very friendly and efficient

Lovely vibey spot with street view over Camps Bay. Friday night is 50% off bubbly which is fantastic. We tasted the sushi (salmon roses) which was delicious & not overladen with mayo or rice. The seafood board was generous & delicious. Service was initially very attentive, but as it got busier we struggled to gain attention. Overall a great experience

Really good breakfast/brunch spot - with the best views of the beach right opposite. The food, juices and coffee were all done well and prices were affordable. I really liked my Madame Caprice sandwich (signature dish) and the service was very good. Must try if you’re in camps bay and craving brunch staples (all day brunch)

Very chill and amazing place. The coktails here are very delicious. Especially the mojito. Pricing is reasonable and you have the view of the buzzing life around here. Food is also very nice. They sometimes have cocktail specials or food specials like two burgers for one. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Grab a beer or cocktail here and enjoy the sunset.

There is still a lot of racism in South Africa. And a good example is this place in which you are the last to be attended if you are black. They think you don’t even notice but this is the sad truth. No more racism in South Africa please! You can’t keep like this in South Africa. Say no to racism.

The only slight downside was that we had to wait for our food for 30-45 minutes, but we had an amazing night there! More

Here you will find a variety of healthy foods made in the most creative ways, the food was amazing the view spectacular. We had some breakfast here while overlooking the camps bay beach. The waiters was super helpful and professional. The restaurant has a beautiful look and gives the beach breakfast vibe.

The food is good, the place is fun because of the good music and the location is next to the water. The service was alright but I don't like being stolen from. I'm trying to give 15% of tips but she doesn't have any change so me and my friends had to give almost 30% tips. This is unacceptable!

Very relaxed mixed of intimate and sunny beach vibes. The staff are helpful and offer blankets during the chilli season. Certain sections are fitted with heating lights. Starters (olives and halloumi) were a bit on the salty side (more so than expected), yet still edible.

I came here for a friend’s birthday and had the best time. Jakob was an amazing bartender, loved all the drinks he made us. Would definitely recommend coming here !!
