I ordered 3 dozen dinner buns for Thanksgiving dinner, and my experience with Cobs was disappointing from start to finish. While paying for my order the two young girls at the front desk were discussing who should take their smoke break first, which is not exactly appetizing when buying fresh bread. I got the buns home and took them from the bag and they were extremely hard, almost felt stale. I pulled the first bun out and it actually crumbled in my hand. Every single bun was hard as a rock and tough enough to break teeth. I returned them 30 minutes later, and was not questioned, the girl just took them didn't ask what was wrong just gave me my money back, which leads me to believe this wasn't the first time bread was returned. She clearly did not want my business or to fix the problem with new buns. I asked if they were fresh and she just replied with a simple "yep" and walked away. Needless to say I won't be bringing my business back to Cobs 130th with the disappointing baking and even more disappointing service, when I can get better product and better service at Safeway.

You know I love Cobs bread, I very seldom had bread in my house before being introduced to Cobs as I am not much of a bread eater by habit, I now eat bread only from cobs. Now to get me into sweet pastries etc, that would be pretty hard to do, I don't eat dessert and I don't buy cakes and pastries, however I did try a scone from Cobs, and enjoyed it so much that I bought another one 2 months later........happy to say that I won't be hooked now, as I saw this lovely blueberry lemon scone in the display that caught my attention and thought it was time to try another, it looked full of blueberries and a real nice size, with icing on top, well the one I got was sparse with the fruit and just a lick of icing on top, was surely the runt of the litter, so thanks Cobs you cured a potential scone buyer who might have gotten hooked, will just stick to bread now and again, as I love your bread !!!!

We regularly deal with Cobb @ 130th in Calgary. Every Tuesday we purchase a marble and dark rye. Several times the bread has been hollow, as it was yesterday. When I returned it today, the counter gal (and I did not get her name and they don't answer the phone to get it), was so rude to me. She initially refused a refund, questioning if I even bought it @ their location). The fact that she served me yesterday and other times was of little consequence....they don't value their repeat customers. She reluctantly gave me the $8+ refund (slapping it aggressively down on the counter) and then chucked the 2 loaves in the garbage from a distance. How she every planned to show it to the baker??. Never going back to Cobb and writing a Google review to warn others. Anne After contacting head office, the store manager did contact me to apologize.

Usually this location is super great place, but the other day it was the worst service ever, July 8th. The girl looked she didn't wanted to be there. When we asked for fun buns for my two littles one at home, she really annoying said that "I will have to charge you for it since you don't have the kids here with you and that's our policy". When we told her that we were just there couple days ago and at that time it was given to us without our kids... so why this policy is here now. "Well we are making sure all follows the rules,,,who was the person that said to you". Told her one of you guys... She was really really rude... not impressed.. Would like to give 0 star but google doesn't not allow.

I seriously don't know why someone would get bread anywhere else. Nearly everything here is delicious, and the quality of their breads is superior to what you would find of a similar kind anywhere else, along with breads that other bakeries simply don't make. The owner at this location is friendly and accommodating, and the service staff make you feel good about coming in to the store every time. If they make a mistake, as they did once when I made an order, they are quick to correct it and make up for it. I just can't say enough about it - the people, the food, the service are all excellent. Go, unless you can't have gluten!

Love the food! Except one time I got a blueberry teatime and I had no idea there were raisins in it until I ate it. It's even worse that the raisins appear almost identical to the blueberries. This scared me because I have a friend who is allergic to raisins/grapes and she would've never known either. I've never heard of blueberries and raisins being together so I never thought twice about raisins possibly being in there. Besides that their product labels could be more specific about what is in the produce, I love this place.

Every time I go to this location, the service i get is very unpleasant. I don’t just go there to buy 1 piece of bread. I spend $50-70. The lady that served me today looked so annoyed, i guess because i am not white and she thinks i don’t know anything. She treated me like i am begging for their product. If she does not want my money, then i bring it somewhere else. During that time, the shelves are full of breads and pastries. It means they will sell those again tomorrow. So it’s not fresh and yet it’s pricey!

Fresh baked breads and pastries what more can you ask for? Cobs is my go to when it comes to quality breads and pastries. They are also conveniently located and really accessible. I’m really into their sunflower flax sourdough breads at the moment. The establishment is clean and staff are always friendly and helpful. They also offer stamp cards for which you get a free loaf after you bought a certain amount of loaf. I highly recommend this place!

How does this place not have 5* rating already? Who doesn't love fresh Cobs bread and baked goods? Been here many times and always leave happy. My kid also likes coming along to get a fun bun here. If you haven't been here, you're really missing out. Great selection of baked goods. Yes, its more expensive than the grocery store but its also much better quality. Its honestly worth the extra money to get your baked goods here.

Every single time I come around 5pm they are out of any sourdough breads. And also can't help myself, but all pastries like croisants and even challah bread taste like baked in/on plastic, what affects the taste very much, that's why I switched this store for the one in Mahagony, even it's further from my home.

I love how everything tasted like home made with simple ingredients and always fresh! Been coming here few times a week to get bread, scones and so much more - usually in the morning before noon. Most staff are friendly, helpful and always offer great suggestions when unsure of what to pick! However, there is one Caucasian lady who is not friendly at all.

  • Liz Ruggles

Unfriendly Service! We try to avoid this location because anytime we pop in, it seems like the girls at the front are annoyed they have to stop what they are doing and tend to us. Even when we are the only customers in the store and the girls are doing nothing, they look annoyed. I don’t appreciate the unfriendly service and won’t be going back again.

  • AXE SLINGER

Horrible customer service from the manager. Refused to warm up a ham and cheese pull apart. Every other location does this and it was actually recommended by the Mohagany location. Staff is also cold and emotionless. Manager of this location is clearly to blame for spreading very bad customer services practices. Never going here again. Customer lost!

  • Aaron Cull

Normally don’t visit this location. Waited patiently for five minutes for service this morning. Then when I asked for two specific scones they just threw them in the bag. Total lack of customer service. If you don’t like your job why are you working here. This is a bad reflection on the owner. I will be taking my business back to Shawnessy COBS.

This location has become our regular for baked goods in the area. Seems to be pretty high traffic, but the selection is always great and fresh. Our family loves the pizza shells, scones and high fibre bread. They usually have samples of new products as well. Worth checking out if you want quality baked goods in the SE.

Everything smells and looks amazing in this shop. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There is a loyalty card and I can support local schools shopping here. There are many different products both savory and sweet; individual and family sized. I love that they donate their day old stock to local charities.

I love Cobs ‘s products, I usually buy at Shawnesse store and I love it, but this store-130ave- has no freshly products. I have bought 4 danishes and a cheese and ham ban, none of them was freshly. Very disappointed. Why the difference between the 2 stores? There must be a control in quality.

I have always enjoyed Cobbs baked products, both at home and ordering for business meetings, it is always fresh and delicious. More importantly, the service at this location goes above and beyond, I appreciate their amazing staff more and more each time I visit!

  • Jennifer MacDonald

Little shocked by Breanna, shouldn’t be working in customer service if she can’t crack a smile and won’t let a customer finish asking a question before she cuts them off to say NO. Not kind, not customer friendly, but the bread is good so I’ll be back!

  • Rechelle Baniqued

Love their fresh baked goods! So tasty and delicious! I enjoyed the ham & cheese croissant, and the lemon blueberry scone this time around!!! They have a good variety to choose from...I wanted to try them all! The staff are friendly and helpful!

Always a joy to be Greeted so warmly upon entering all you stores .Your products and the comfort smells of fresh breads and all those delicious goodies, Another thing that I like about your company is that you give back at the end of the day.

  • Dez Lee

Always a joy to visit with the kids. They love the smells and the good but above all the staff. They are always friendly and smiling, (you can tell, even behind the masks). Get the High Fibre loaf, softest and most delicious bread they sell!

  • scary ugarte

Great fresh bake bread sadly horrible service out of 130th store they didn't want to slice the loaf i purchase is against they policy that was the answer. But evey other store slice the loaf i buy. Worst experience ever!!!

  • MARA HELWIG

Love their Sunflower Flax Sourdough bread. The cinnamon scones are my favourite, second would be the berry white chocolate ones. Lots of other options there, both savory and sweet. Always friendly service.

  • Nat

Absolutely love this place. Staff are really friendly and give good recommendations. Prices are great and the quality is amazing. The cinnamon buns are my favourite here! They are so soft and fluffy …

  • Jen MacDonald

The pizza buns are so tasty, I buy them every time I go. The scones, the bins, the bread. It's all amazing. It's a bit expensive but no more than any other bakery you can go to.
