This is most likely the best car mechanic shop in the city of Seattle. Somehow my TSX's left front suspension developed a rattling sound, and ABS always engaged very prematurely just doing a normal stop downhill. My own educated guess was a loose joint or a weak strut. Based on my past experience, I took it back to CMarr and Curtis got me in very quickly on a Wednesday, knowing that I would need the car for Friday. I was hoping to get the tires re-aligned, too (it was steering left). They figured it wouldn't be an expensive fix at all. They called pretty quickly to find out that the left strut was leaking oil and it had no damping at all (what's up Acura?!). And they also got the alignment scheduled and done (they outsource that to the shop up the street), with no markup on the alignment. When I picked it up, they showed me the photo of the pre-repaired strut, oil all over the piston housing, and I got to see the swapped out part as well. This is accountability, and honestly. The price tag was beyond reasonable (emphasis on "beyond"). And there's no surprise that they are going to be moving to a bigger, and better facility soon. When a business is run this way, with integrity, fairness, hardwork, and absolute customer focus, they deserve to be successful. There is also a little side-story I wanted to add, it really shows you what kind of people are running this place. You would notice somewhere in the shop there is a pile of sawdust on the floor. And once in a while you would see a pigeon walking around. It turned out that the pigeon "moved in" with a broken wing, unable to fly. And since then, Curtis and Eric have taken him in, fed him and that pile of sawdust was this little guy's sleeping place. This little guy isn't even that afraid of people any more. How incredibly kind is that? I always believe that people who can extend kindness to injured animals are some of the nicest people around; and this is a great proof. Would you like them to take care of you? I would. Get your car there.
I chose to bring my car to CMARR because of all the good reviews it has. However, now that I've had a chance to deal with them, I have no idea why there are so many good reviews. The guy tried to sell me an expensive synthetic oil change for my pretty old (2005) absolutely regular car. He said they don't have any regular oil. When I was about to cancel the oil change, he quickly added that he can go buy some, which was fine with me. Then, I asked him to look at the noise my rear suspension makes, he concluded that my struts need to be replaced. It would cost me $800 (which is a somewhat fair price), but I didn't want to spend this much money at that time on the car I might sell soon, so I said no. However, he still charged me ~$50 for "diagnostics" (which, I assume, involved just looking/pushing on my car's back as the literally hasn't unscrewed a single bolt). With that, I think it's fair to conclude that this fine establishment's main priority is getting money out of the customer rather than helping him/her get the best deal in terms of price/value.
I’ve been coming here for about ten years now, but they have become increasingly unreliable. Today is the day they lost my business. I’ve never had a problem leaving my vehicle here all day to wait for work to be done. However, it is inconvenient as I live in Lynnwood. And today, despite making arrangements two weeks ago, no one was there by 10 o’clock. Usually someone is there around 9, despite the hours on Google stating 930 and their voicemail saying 10. And when I originally said I’d be there around 9 there was no contradiction or clarification. If they were closed due to the observed holiday, they shouldn’t have made the appointment in the first place. Even if they were running late, it is not the reliability and professionalism I have come to expect.
The Fiat dealership in Kirkland quoted me $4800 for service in for my Fiat 500. I have never in my life been quoted such a high price for maintenance. A friend of mine told me to get a second opinion and so I found myself here at Cmarr. I was able to set up a drop off for inspection within a week and I left them with the 3 page quote the dealership gave me. The techs at Cmarr determined I o my needed half the work ( things like “my tires needed replacing” were not accurate) but the reminder of work cost me a fraction and my car runs so smoothly! When I car shop in the future I will bring my car here for previous inspection. I trust the work Cmarr does!
I have had my 2003 Acura TL for about 3 years now and routinely brought it in to Greg’s Japanese Auto for service. Routinely being that it would last for at least a few weeks to a month before some other problem popped up. One of the earliest issues I’ve asked them to address is my steering wheel wobbling each time I accelerate from a stopped or slowed position. Greg’s was never able to figure it out throughout all the times I’ve brought it in, so I figured my car was doomed to have this problem indefinitely. One stop at Cmarr and my car is riding like it’s supposed to for the first time ever. Bring your car here. Thank you Uncle Curtis!
Not from Seattle but came here as a trip with the girlfriend to shop. Just my luck the brakes gave up on the way coming here and I needed a shop asap before heading back to Vancouver. Checked online and found this shop with great reviews and decided to give them a try. Glad I did, even though they were slammed with cars for the day he understood my urgency and squeezed me in. Very thorough and quick, super nice guy. Showed me the problem and what they fixed. If I'm ever in need of a shop again next time I know where to go!
Everything that is great about indie mechanics. They are broadly knowledgeable, prompt and thorough in their service, and friendly to boot. CMARR strikes the right balance in that they will repair only what is needed, but still use high quality parts that last. Have had my vehicle serviced here for years with a variety of different jobs, and would highly recommend!
These guys are better than Excellent. You will not find a shop that is more honest or who will do as good a job. Honda wanted to charge me for a new engine mount. It would have cost me almost two times as much at Honda. I have know Curtis and Eric since they were kids. Both are a good as people get. You will not be dissatisfied by their work.
Honest. No-frills. They'll tell you like it is, and won't try to sell you on anything. In fact, they'll make recommendations as to how they can help solve/fix your car issue the inexpensive way - even if it means they won't get your business. Good guys.
How often do you have a mechanic you can trust will do good work, in a timely manner, and at a good price? I cannot say enough good things. They are honest like none other, and I am so lucky to have them. Thanks Cmarr! You're the best!
Curtis is the owner of the shop. His work is very good and he finds the time to test drive the repaired vehicle for any other problems. He is most honest and sincere and dedicated to service at a reasonable price.
These guys are the real deal. They don't sell bogus services and I never feel like I'm being taken for a ride. The best auto shop in Seattle! I'll continue to bring my cars here.
I can’t say enough good things about these guys! We’ve used them to work on a few different vehicles. Curtis, Eric and team know what they’re doing, they are honest and fair!
They are extremely nice and honest about the work they do. I feel very comfortable talking with them and I feel like I'm being very well taken care of when I'm there.
Nice guys, great service. They tend to fit you in, even if they're busy. They take care of your car all day, drop it in the AM and pick up in the PM is real easy.
Had my car worked on a while back, and the staff were very helpful. They stepped me through what they needed to do so I understood as well.
Incredible staff. Great work. Honest. I feel very fortunate that they worked on my truck as it is running smoothly now. Thank you!!
Coolest mechanics in the world. I've never trusted a car shop so much. They are great. I highly recommend them.
