Absolutely greedy and ridiculous vets. I absolutely do NOT recommend them. They first of all made my budgie go to a wrong exotic since they only take referral. He gave her a wrong medication which caused respiratory issue and then she was sent to CJ halls. The staff were so insistent on X ray and Blood test only for them to find nothing from them. They werent even willing to share the results or explain them. The vet Mathew is absolutely insensitive and money hungry. My budgie was given medication after medication only to develop candida and no diagnoses to the respiratory condition and not even to the candida despite spending more than £2000. I understand that vets/doctors are not god and they cannot be certain all the time but these vets were not even informative or friendly. In fact if you asked questions this was hugely frowned upon. After this unfortunately my budgie had an accident and since this CJ had our history we though it would be better to take her there but the vet only prescribed antibiotic instead of also prescribing anti-fungal despite knowing my budgie had developed candida due to medications from them in the past and despite warning him that my budgie was vomiting. We had phoned the vet several times telling receptionist that the vomiting was very severe and that another vet visit would worsen the situation and hence the vet just prescribe the meds - since the vet already had all the history for my pet and they also gave very conflicting advice. First they told us that we should give a medication that we had even though my budgie was vomiting another phone on the same day they said to discontinue and then again when we called the next day another receptionist said continue the med.the vet was reluctant to come to the call and just answer the queries and the end the questions. The vet is extremely rude and had the audacity to walk away while I was asking about my budgie when she had lost her eye in the accident. The vet is discriminative especially if your pet is not among the "prestige" type like macaw or other more endangered/expensive species. Though pet type shouldn't be a concern for a vet who has a duty of care. They constantly push you to keep your pet with them in the hospital when diagnosis can be given without changing the environment of the pet and causing unnecessary stress and journey. We went to the vet more than 4 times and told him constantly that my budgie gets stressed from the journey and the journey is around 2 hours so to provide the treatment in as less visits as possible yet he did not listen and didn't provide ANY treatment during the visits and hence did not diagnose her in time. This is the true reflection of the type of critical care welfare they provide for their patients. To add to this on the day of passing away he ignored us and went to other customers who had no emergency at all again further delaying the treatment for my budgie who was an emergency patient to wait MORE than 4 hours before she received medications. Even though it was not a rush hour and there were no other emergency patients at the time. Which is extremely ridiculous. When we wanted to see my deceased pet the vet didn't want to show her and wanted to go to other customers. In front of the customers he said he wont be charging for the day we went in when my budgie passed away however after a few weeks we got a call saying we need to pay the bill for that day when we said that we had never had any outstanding bills previously and that the vet was the one who denied the bill for the day the vet lied and said nothing of that sort happened. Do you think that distressed pet parents will lie about having to pay the bill for the last day when they had paid all their bills (well over £2000 ) and no history of outstanding payments before. If you want the best for your pets trust your instincts and DO NOT COME TO CJ HALLS.
I’m so SO angry with this surgery! After working in veterinary for 6 years this surgery came so highly rated after my ex colleague who was an exotic vet moved to LA, I was suggested to come here. well... I will never forget this experience and will URGE any bunny owner to really reconsider going to this place. My baby girl needed a lot of dental and had a sticky eye and nose because of the inflammation, she was already on baytril for this prior to her surgery, booking her in was really easy and I was reassured that her husbun was able to go with her to keep her calm, and then this is where it all went wrong! I called and called to get an update, no one ever answers the phones for ages, I was promised updates that I had to follow up and chase up... I just wanted to know how my bunny was after her 1st ever major surgery! Knowing how risky it is with them as it is I was so stressed. I was told a vet would call me back later to let me know how it went but by the time it got to 4:40pm and them closing in 20 minutes I had no idea if my rabbits were coming home or what was going on I had NO IDEA what was happening and it was so so upsetting!!!! They were house bunnies free roaming so not having them home or knowing if they were okay was not in my opinion acceptable to let an owner worry like this, not to mention the costs you pay to come to this “highly skilled” vets! I was so reluctant to let them stay as I would of given her better care being home in the night but yet, that was not a choice. I was told her results would be back in a couple of days and yet the 2 times I called they were not back, I had to wait and no one ever called me to say they were back and once again I had to chase the following week... oh low and behold they had been back for days and no one at this vets called me to tell me she needed injections of penicillin for her aggressive infection! My local vets had to order it in over night to start her on it the following day urgently.... well guess what... she didn’t make it and I completely hold this vet surgery responsible for their negligence to notify me or let me speak to the vet which caused her almost a week of suffering before passing away in my arms because she only managed to get 1 dose but it was too late! Neither of my rabbits came back from here wanting to eat or play, even the healthy one! I paid above £1000 in total for her treatment (majority of that to C J Hall) to find out after everything that a bacterial infection was the cause and could have been treated much quicker had they of just told me the results for the tests they took! Instead the Baytril wasn’t strong enough and it spread to her lungs. Disgraceful! No follow up to see how she was after surgery, just took my money and didn’t look back... My poor other bun is now grieving the loss of his bonded companion of 6 years and this could have been acted on much sooner and she could of still been here. I’m totally heartbroken. Please avoid this surgery if you care for your bunnies as they really don’t and just see it as “another rabbit coming through the doors”
Matthew is great and I trust his veterinary skills totally! However, It is almost impossible to speak to him after your initial appointment to discuss any follow up findings, after blood tests etc. You do end up chasing any results and getting different receptionists/assistants passing messages back and forth. Our dear pets mean the world to us and that is why we chose C J Hall. Wanting to speak to the vet himself to make sure we feel confident going forward is a fair ask, as it’s what we pay a vet for. Especially when bills often run into £500 upwards per visit. Matthew should discuss the results with clients directly , rather than clients having to chase the receptionists. Often things get lost in translation this way, with so much message passing. I’ve found that however well meaning the receptionists are, they don’t always have the full understanding of such findings and results. It doesn’t provide much peace of mind when your pet is sick to have them running back and forth to ask questions and then relay that information back again. Often when they have not fully understood some information themselves. Also, the insurance papers take far too long to process. Most practices have papers off to the relevant insurance company the same week! I have found myself chasing at the 6 week mark and they still haven’t been done! A great vet for sure, but these two changes need making to ensure confidence remains. To have a sick pet is incredibly worrying and to not be able to speak to the vet directly after to hear what his opinion is, based on those findings doesn’t make you or your beloved pet feel very highly regarded. Also, the insurance paperwork needs addressing in a more timely manner to ensure that people aren’t left out of pocket for an often unforseen illness and expenditure. I think if you think a bit more of the customers experience as a whole, then you would see the impression we are left with at times. This is my honest, and I feel fair review!
Sadly, this is the 2nd time we have visited C J Hall Veterinary Surgeons, however they are excellent & show both empathy & sensitivity during very difficult times. Whether a pet is very sick or dying, I would fully recommend this Vet. Ironically we have at least 3 Vets near our home address although none of them deal with cockatiels, as these are deemed exotic birds. This has meant we have had to drive for nearly an hour to East Sheen for our pet cockatiels to receive any form of care. Our 1st visit occurred several years ago when Peewee (cockatiel) was egg bound, Matthew (her Vet) dealt with the whole process very diligently & treated her better than my relative received last year! She was critically ill with her egg stuck inside. Matthew gave her essential fluids & pain relief to stabilise her fragile condition. He asked if he could update us with her condition through the night, which is what he did. If she had of remained stable enough, he would have carried out a cesarean, explaining this gave a 50/50 chance survival, however she deteriorated during the early hours. Today we took Peewee's Father, who had deteriorated (probably due to being 29 years old), to be made comfortable during his last hours, as he had been slipping away from us since Saturday midday, spending most of the time sleeping on our shoulder or in bottom of his cage. He sadly lost his stoic little battle at 2pm today on our way to the vets. The young female surgeon was sensitive & dealt with us very professionally, explaining what our options were now he was gone. This Veterinary practice is worth it's weight in gold. Highly recommend.
I contacted CJ Hall asking to register my hedgehog and book an appointment. I was told they aren't taking on any new clients at the moment as they're busy due to Covid but suggested that I went to any local vets (not exotic so won't be able to treat him), pay that consultation fee of £40-£50 then ask to be referred to CJ Hall with the referral fee being £150. Absolutely ridiculous that a vet appointment before treatment would cost me £200! I called around local vets, all telling me just to go straight to CJ Hall and that they don't treat hedgehogs and that referring me to them would not only waste their time but cost me an unnecessary expense. I contacted CJ Hall again explaining that no vet would be willing to see him so they then said they would see him but will still charge me the £150 referral fee plus consultion then treatment fees on top of that!!! I refuse to pay that amount of money for absolutely nothing! As a veterinary surgery they have a duty of care and money shouldn't be the reason an animal has to wait longer to get treatment. I've explained the situation to a vet in Kingston and we've agreed to work and learn together to find the best treatment plan for my Hog without charging me £150 for nothing. I have no problem paying for veterinary treatment when it is needed and I can see what the money is being used for but CJ Hall are absolutely scandalous!
Our blue pacific parrotlet had been registered with CJ Hall for four years. During the summer he boarded there for 5 weeks while we were away. We went to pick him up when we returned and we noticed when we got home that his chest feathers were missing. No one had informed us this was the case while we were away or when we actually went to pick him up suggesting that he was neglected during his stay there and no one had noticed. We called to find out more information about what happened and were told by the vet it was ‘probably the stress of us being away’ and were reassured there was nothing sinister and we should watch and wait for a few weeks. We wrote back to the practice a few days later to find out more information about what actually happened while he was there, the care he received and the fact that he had boarded with them and others in the past ( we had him for 6 years) but did not self mutilate. We never received a reply. Our bird died a few weeks later. CJ Hall were negligent and unprofessional. Not only had they not noticed that the parrot became sick while he boarded with them but the vet provided false reassurance and advice to deny liability.
Great vets with excellent care. They managed my expectations and kept me well informed through a difficult process with my rabbit. Dr Roxanne - lovely surgeon/vet who was very informative from start to end of the procedure. She gave honest yet professional guidance and helped me make the best choices for my rabbit's surgery. Dr Matthew - explained everything in great detail and also gave fantastic service. My rabbit was hospitalised after his operation and I was naturally concerned. Dr Matthew kindly came in to the hospital at 11pm post-surgery to check my rabbit was doing well and then called me (as per my consent) to inform me he was recovering well. Other things to note: - Transparency on quotes/price from the very beginning through to the end (a little expensive but it's a specialist vet so was expected) - Free follow up post surgery and an additional check up when his stitches were removed - Lovely team of nurses and reception staff (clearly hardworking and very friendly). All in all a clean practice with a knowledgeable and rabbit-savvy team. Thank you!
I don't know how to give this place a minus 10 absolute horrible experience Took our little parrot to them while he needed the most care and attention They just looked at him and started guessing things made up a bill of nearly a thousand pounds and asked me to leave my little baby with them for 4 days half an hour later I called to check up on him apparently everything on the list was already done and they left him alone over night .. they called me up next morning first thing and said your parrot has passed away none of it made sense they knew what was the case instead of saying we can give him medication and you can take him they want you to feel like they are some serious vets that will help you but In reality they are theifs and the staff at reception are very arrogant and rude. To end it off they even said oh its only a parrot like a parrot has no heart or soul the poorest service you will ever receive.. go there if you have no love for your pet
CJ Hall are the best vets we have ever visited (and trust me we have seen many with our 6 exotic pets!). I recommend them to all of my friends and colleagues, who are raving and ranting about the amazing treatment they received. Staff are brilliant: vets are very knowledgeable, receptionists are amazing people and very passionate about pets, some staff that you never see who work behind closed doors are so very kind and on several occassions went out of their way to reassure us and keep us updated while our precious ones were staying at the surgery for several days for treatment. Wherever we moved around London we always went to see Matthew at CJ Hall as there is simply nobody remotely equivalent in the whole of Greater London. And now we moved out to Surrey we still travel to CJ Hall's. These guys are irreplaceable, can't recommend them enough. Excellent value, too!
Two of my beloved lovebirds have been taken to this vet . They both died , so i am really unimpressed. The last lovebird i took there , i was very insistent that i did not want my ill lovebird being kept alone over the weekend at the vets . If it was going to die , best to spend its last days at home with us . But still they persuaded me to leave her with them . So Monty went in on Friday looking a bit under the weather , but quite perky . She was given back to us on Tuesday looking really dreadful . She came home and went into horrible spasms and died the same day . I suspect that she was given the wrong dosage , and that the medication caused this. And for this horrible set of events, i was charged hundreds of pounds . I suspect Monty would still be alive if i had never taken her to this vet. CJ Hall Vets : NEVER AGAIN .
I trust CJ Hall vets with my bunnies, old and new, 100%! My first bunny lived a long and healthy life (11 years), which it would have not been possible without the care and support of Dr Matthew and the team. They were always there for us and no question was ever too small. So it’s no surprise that when little Dash came along, CJ Hall is where he goes :) he was neutered back in October and had such a wonderful recovery, back to his usual rambunctious self in no time. That’s testament to CJ Halls experience in dealing with these gorgeous but super delicate fur babies. Whilst pets never enjoy a trip to the vet, there’s a silver lining for pawrents: while you wait you will likely meet the most gorgeous exotic pets! It certainly helps everyone relax a bit more :) I could not recommend CJ Hall highly enough!
Bearded Dragon Sif - who is one of my Creature Companions at only 3+ years in age, did very much die of exhaustion from drowning recently, I did all that I could in reviving her to a conscience state and felt very sad that she was dying... I called CJ Hall Vets team - they were the only hope that Sif had for any immediate examination, and I will always appreciate to that end the endeavours that each and every one of them put effort into, to ensuring that not only did the Human Companion grow happy with the outstanding professional medical services delivered - BUT that the Creature Companion was put first, and I trust CJ Hall Vets for this very said reason. Again and again - thanks plenty CJ Hall Vets, you guys are AWESOME and you all ROCK too ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Sif and Jermaine xxx
Dr Matthew has saved our parrot. Our parrot was not himself so we took him to a vet but got worse we thought our parrot will die so we booked an appointment with another vet to euthanise him but Dr Matthew was recommended to us. Lo and behold our bird has recovered . pls dont waste ur time or money taking ur bird to an ordinary vet he needs to be an avian specialist like Dr Matthew. I Highly recommend them. We still unable to believe that our parrot is actually alive!!!! The receptionists were soooooo friendly and helpful and really helped me emotionally too over the phone and made sure i had an appointment asap. Im in tears. Thank you Dr Matthew and the whole team. My bird has a new life❤lots of respect .I wish if I knew the receptionists names. They were so helpful
An absolutely fantastic specialist vets for exotics/small furries. Excellent, friendly and passionate team. With their expertise, we extended the life of our gerbil, Margo by 3 months. She was only 1.5yrs old but had kidney failure. This was only diagnosable due to blood work CJ Hall's did, that wouldn't be offered elsewhere. Margo's sister outlived her but was diagnosed with cancer in August. With regular visits and meds, she is still with us and we sometimes have to remind ourselves she's over 3yrs old! We also (embarrassingly) took our Tetra fish here and were even able to get scrapings and microscopy diagnosis, amazing! Would highly recommend CJ Hall's. Have been going to them for ~4 yrs. Brilliant vet team!
Excellent veterinary practice. We haven't been using CJ Hall for very long, but I have no doubt that I would have lost my African Pygmy Hedgehog if CJ Hall couldn't fit her in for surgery. We're now on the second month of chemotherapy so fingers crossed we have many more months (years) together! The practice staff are very professional and friendly. I love seeing all the amazing exotic animals when we visit. So far we've met a few tortoises, budgies, guinea pigs, huge rabbits, a parrot and runner ducks. There's no car park but plenty of street parking in the area without any parking restrictions. If you have an exotic pet, get a referral to CJ Hall and you will be in the best hands.
My fiancés African grey had been poorly for the last 5 days and he was at breaking point and took her to see a vet in Northolt who said she was to far gone and the best thing would be to put her down and my fiancé couldn’t do it and then he was referred to cj vets and Matthew work his magic , as he spoke to my fiancé and explained it all to him , my fiancé went out side while Matthew was with snowy the parrot . He did blood tests , flushed her nose out and gave her the medication when my fiancé saw her again she was a new parrot . We can’t thank Matthew and his team enough for there kindness and passion and empathy to my fiancé and our baby who is loved so much .
We were recommended to CJ Hall vets by our previous vet as they are specialists in exotic pets. Having never appreciated that rabbits were particularly 'exotic' I was unsure that this specialism would result in a substantial difference in care but I'm glad to say that it has. The knowledge and experience of the vets along with the friendly and caring nurses and receptionists makes me sure that our rabbits receive the best possible care. I thoroughly recommend CJ Hall and though I can only vouch for their treatment of rabbits, given the wide variety of creatures I've seen whilst in the waiting room I'd guess they are pretty good with all exotic creatures!
They were recommended by a nearby Medivet branch as specialists in small rodents. We felt the two vets we dealt with were knowledgeable, caring, and patient with us. We never felt like things were done just to charge us for something - quite the opposite. They did have different opinions which puzzled us a bit (whether to operate on an elderly gerbil), but I suppose that's not uncommon with vets. It was easy enough to get a repeat prescription in person, but if it were to be posted, the charge for that is high. There is free street parking next to it. They always had an appointment slot when we needed it.
As parrot owners we chose cj hall for their exotic expertise. They have been amazing every time. The head vet is the only guy who can get my neurotic conure on his back with his eyes shut with bliss whilst he files his nails for us (dremel)!!! All my budgies have been promptly diagnosed and cared for with them and one budgie was allowed his friend to stay with him for the overnight observations which was so kind. All staff are lovely and deal with my anxious phone calls kindly. Really knowledgeable experts in their field. Thank you. We will use you forever more x
Our rabbit had an eye issue that the CJ Hall team treated for over a year. We’re unclear why CJ Hall/ Matthew didn’t refer our bunny to an ophthalmologist during this time as her eye got considerably worse, and could have been treated appropriately much earlier. They also advised us that we could put her to sleep. I generally found that the head vet prefers to treat pets in house, rather than refer an animal/ pet to the right specialist. Her eye is now permanently damaged due to this vet’s poor care. Our bunny is now thankfully under the right care.
This place is definitely worth to recommend. I really had a feeling that Charlie (my Green Winged Macaw) was in the good hands. They are always ready to help and they never say 'no'. Dr Fiddes and his team are very young, full of energy and professional people, ready to go the extra mile. I really trust them and I will never go anywhere else. If I would go somewhere else then probably I would have to say goodbye to my beloved parrot. It was really heavy metal poisoning. Thank you very much for taking care of Charlie.
I love CJ Hall... even though I go there worrying about my own sickly guinea pigs... I meet lovely staff... other owners of an array of pets... then the vet... knowing that are in the best of ❤ care.... feel very happy that they are in the best of care... xxx my piggies are loved and cared for and this extends to their health and well being of which I 100% put my vets loyalty care and devotion... x for such small animals that I love dearly, I would never take anywhere else... x
We took our poorly tortoise to CJ Hall Vets on the advice of a friend. We are very glad we did! We were seen without an appointment and at short notice. Excellent service, painstaking exam and explanation. The price was reasonable, given that we were with the vet for nearly half an hour and a range of medicines and injections were required. I cannot fault the service that we received from Dr Mathew and his team - we thoroughly recommend CJ Hall Vets. Thank you.
Everybody at CJ Hall are lovely, I have seen both Matt and Roxanne, Roxanne is brilliant with my chinchilla Greg who’s always a little scared of strangers, she always made us both feel at ease. Even during some tough decisions. I could not think to go anywhere else. The care both Greg and I receive is second to none. It also helps that they don’t actually try and rip you off the whole time. They just care about helping your animal. It’s refreshing!
Had to go to a vet for my cockatiel for the first time since I got them (around 18 years). 2 days ago. He had a rhinolith. I was seen slightly late but the avian specialist was fantastic, incredibly knowledgeable, removed it and gave me great advice, 2 shots, weighed him and gave us antibitotics. He seems to now be recovering very well, the price was also very reasonable. As things stand currently I can not recommend them highly enough.
I would love to give 0 star if possible The vet sounds very keen about give surgery to my hamsterver, for only £300 (what a bargain) keep her for however days of hospitalisation so they could charge me more fee.. However after 2 days of hospitalisation at £67 got told to go and pick up my hamster, no actual doctor was there to assist, And now after 1 night back home my beloved hamster is dead Thanks a lot cj hall, well done !
Exotic pet specialist that your local medivet isn't. We take the family African grey parrot here who previously has been ill and CJ Hall Vets took great care and and gave great advice during the illness. I've never seen a group of vets with so many specialisms as Matthew and his team. We've seen fish, gerbils, cats, dogs, lizards, birds all being treated here. It's far from where we are, but worth it for their expertise.
I took Bobbi my African Grey here as I thought she was egg-bound. The real issue was quickly diagnosed as an oviduct infection. Sadly Bobbi didn’t make it but I am certain everything possible was done for her. All of the staff were friendly and took great care. I am certain I could not have taken Bobbi to a better vet in the general vicinity of where I live. I will certainly take my new bird there should the need arise.
Our beautiful Beardie Blaze had to be put to sleep this week. We were devastated! But a very sad occasion was made a lot more bearable because of the kindness and patience shown by Mathew. He explained everything and gave us as much time as we needed and showed great empathy and understanding. This made a horrendous situation go as smoothly as it could. Many thanks!!! Would definitely recommend for your reptile care.
I can’t rate Matthew and his team highly enough. If it wasn’t for their expert ‘small mammal’ skills, my guinea pig, wouldn’t still be with us. The post op aftercare was second to none. You can really tell that the whole team absolutely love animals and take great pride in what they do. I’m so happy our guinea pigs are registered with the practice. I wouldn’t trust any other vets to care for our guinea pigs.
The Vets Matthew and Roxanne are amazing at what they do! Their medical and surgical skills are immense! The nursing staff, assistants and reception team are all very experienced in domestic and exotic animals providing specialist care to a huge range of different species. They all make this place a plesent place to come to and I wouldnt take my cats, dog, parrots or gecko to any other vets!
we have recently taken our Blue fronted amazon parrot here, i was extremely impressed with the service, advice and how they handled the emergency that we had and although it was too late for our Parrot, i really appreciate the support and how it was handled by the vet and team. Plan to take my three dogs here once the current situation improve for a check up. Thanks You
We have been coming to CJ Hall for the past 5 years and they have always provided the highest quality of care to our African Pygmy Hedgehog. I would recommend CJ Hall to any pet owners, particularly those with exotic pets. Whether it's just a check up or a more complicated procedure the team works skillfully, diligently and with compassion for their patients.
Absolutely pathetic place! Please read all the reviews esp the real ones not the fake 5 or 4 star ones. Most people come here out of necessity of there not being any other vets for birds but this place is just a business and money making machine not at all suitable for our vulnerable little babies that need empathy and INDIVIDUALISED care over bureaucracy.
Amazing vet service, and great team. Matthew is very thorough and knowledgeable about exotic pets. I had to travel very far away to get here, but it was the right choice. My chinchilla was in really bad state and required a tricky surgery that not all vets could do. With their help, she is now back on her feet and jumping again. Thank you CJ hall vet team
I was looking for an expert to treat my budgie. My local Alcomb Osterley vet recommended CJ Hall practice. I'm glad they did! My budgie is on the mend now. We are all so happy! Boris has fully recovered. He had antibiotics and antifungal drops. He's chipping happily once again. By the way, did you know there's a pet hotel on site?
If you have a small/exotic pet this is the best vet to go to! Every time Matthew’s knowledge and the caring team have nursed our very poorly guinea pig back to health. No other vet we have been to comes close in terms of range of medication and treatment available. They really are as wonderful as the other reviews suggest.
Extremely helpful advice over the phone re a 19 year old goldfish who had jumped out of his tank sometime before I found him in the morning on kitchen floor. Managed to revive home by holding his mouth over the bubbles from the air brick and not allowing him to die !(orange)! Thank you so much …
It s the best veterinary practice for bearded dragons.not one doubt.my experience with the practice was ..they saved my bearde where no one else could.the dragon was always happy even after the overnight treatment. ....I m going to leave him there on my holidays too;-).safer than with anyone else
Very professional team. Everyone was very welcoming and caring. I have taken rescued feral pigeons to them and they have given the same care and attention as you would expect to be given to a family pet. Avian specialists but care for all species of pets from what I saw. Highly recommended.
Absolutely amazing vet practice with the loveliest team. My bunny was referred here for emergency surgery and they were exceptional. The support given during his recovery was also brilliant and really helped us to get him back to his normal self. Couldn't speak more highly of these guys
After being referred from my vet to CJ Hall as my hamster was suffering from pyometra, they were very professional and reassuring. My hamster had a hysterectomy here (which is so risky) by Dr Roxanne and she is recovering really well! Can’t thank CJ Hall enough for saving my hamster!
Lovely staff and professional service. We use this vet as it's a Specialist tortoise vet. Always lots of care given and good explanation of options and reasoning. We also use the animal boarding service which is excellent, always very well taken care of. It's such a peace of mind.
Best service ever! Definitely recommend any exotic animals. Bought our African Grey Coco in today as he was very poorly and hope he feels better soon! Travelled 3 hours to get here but was worth it. Really experienced Avian vets, their love and passion for animals really shows
I highly recommend CJ Hall Vets. Professional with huge knowledge and experience. Kind and respectful each situation I have been through. I had plenty of them. Helped with my guinea pigs for many years as well as helped to diagnose my older dog who nobody did. The best Vet.
Never been there but I made a call asking some information about my bird and his requirements to travel abroad. The receptionist was very knowledgable and showed clear interest in solving my issue. Definitively I got an excellent first impression. Thanks for your help.
I always go to these guys: their equipment is modern, the vets always know what they are doing, all the staff are very polite. And they don't charge the living soul out of you, which helps among the rest, especially with repeated appointments for ongoing treatments
My pet parrot and cat go here. Care for my parrot has always been amazing. She once fell ill and the interventions made by CJ Hall brought her back to good health in good time. Also got my cat spayed here and all went well. One of the best vets in London.
Very good if you have an exotic pet. I did have to wait quite a while for my turn (despite appointment) since they were very busy, but it was definitely worth it since I had an ill, elderly guinea pig who is now well again thanks to the vets at CJ Hall.
Amazing experience - I came without an appointment for my little hamster who’s cheek pouch had come out suddenly and they managed to fit him in for a surgery the same day. The vet did an amazing job. He healed so well and is happy again! Thank you :)
Excellent service. Cheeper than others I used to take ma cat to. Never needed to wait more than few minutes to be seen and always flexible when rearranging appointments, even at short notice. Very caring and professional staff. Highly recommended.
Wonderful hen vets! They are caring, thorough and very knowledgeable with hens. Very hard to find vets who deal with henpets. Highly recommended. Thank you for caring for our hens. Pearl is doing well. We look forward to getting Feather back.
Has been our vet for well over ten years now. The surgery actually isn't close by but to me the travel is well worth it. Friendly caring professional service. Great with my current dog as they were with my last. Excellent with my fishies too.
Best vet in London if you need to get a more exotic animal treated. I've taken my cockatiels / lovebirds here and the staff are very knowledgeable and take a lot of care. Unfortunately they're far away from where I live but worth the trip.
After years of looking for a good, honest Vets, and having been given some very bad advice by others, we now rely on C J Hall. No problem is too small and no care is too large. I travel a good distance for this service. Highly recommended.
You will never find a more knowledgeable, professional and wonderful team who put so much love in to caring for your pets. They have been looking after out cats for the past 13 years and I really can't imagine taking them anywhere else.
An extremely dedicated and very caring team who always put your animal first. They have treated my birds for many years and they show such professionalism and empathy. Expert care. The best veterinary treatment you could ask for.
Excellent vets, we felt very reassured by the service and care received. Receptionists were also great, really seemed to care about our bunnies. They were spayed there and no problems, thankfully. The after care was also good.
Really wonderful staff. Very good with the dog, Mathew is such a gentle vet and the nurses are too. I highly recommend these vets. They also deal in exotic pets so you might get to see a parrot or in our case a little monkey.
The best vet practice I've been to for "exotics" by far. The head vet is fantastically knowledgeable and manages to be sensitive with his recommendations whilst always keeping the welfare of the animal as his top priority.
A wonderful team and great care for my two house rabbits. Matthew has operated twice on Bella and each time, the due care and attention has been second to none. I wouldn't trust my furbabies in the hands of anyone else.
A specialist vet for exotic species. I have been a few times with my tortoises. Friendly, knowledgeable sevice which is so reassuring when regular vets have only a limited knowledge. Not cheap but then vets aren't.
Best and most professional exotic vets in the country. Thank you for correctly diagnosing my bearded dragon and saving her life. After spending £500 plus on bogus care, I finally found a real practice I can trust.
The best exotic veterinary practice. Have been coming here for years with my reptiles and birds, the staff are always super friendly, caring and great with animals. Would definitely recommend this practice.
I use this vetinary practice as they are avian vets and not all vet practices are as experienced with birds. They have looked after my budgies very well. They have a hospital and they board pets as well.
I’ve been coming to CJ Hall for years with my Degus and would never go anywhere else, they really care for your fur babies and have their best interests at heart, the best exotic vet and a lovely team!
CJ Hall have been absolutely amazing with my rats this year. Other vets we tried seemed to know very little about rats whereas I feel like my girls are in completely safe hands here. Highly recommend.
Best vet in London. Lovely staff, very caring team which are extremely helpful and very informative. Always put your pet first. The best veterinary treatment you could ask for. Definitely recommend.
Cj Hall vets was very helpful and friendly. They saved my budgerigars life and were very kind. If any of my birds need treatment i'll be sure to come back knowing they have high quality care.
This is the best vet on the planet - Factual. They always fit you in, they are really caring and very informative. So glad I found these guys my parrot doesn't even mind going there! …
Lovely vets surgery, also boards small animals which I didn’t realise til a few years ago! Will look after your bearded dragons and the like whilst you’re on holiday. Really recommend them!
Really amazing vets for unusual animals. We take our conure there for medical checks and boarding. The staff are knowledgeable and very understanding. Don't know what we'd do without them!
Can't fault these guys. Clinic is very clean. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. If you have a parrot or exotic animal this is the place to go. They do after hours emergency as well.
They've saved my rabbits life FOUR times now. Different procedures each time. Honestly I feel blessed to have found them. I would never use a non specialist vet for my rabbit again.
If you have parrots or exotic pets then this is the best vets to be registered with. They always look after my macaw brilliantly and the staff are super friendly and professional.
Super helpful, my sister had a frog to check up, they were very quick and efficient with the required antibiotics and took their time to show us how to give the required dosage.
Our budgie Poncho finally got the right care he needed and we received detailed explanations throughout. Very friendly & caring specialist vets. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Matthew and the team are great and friendly always helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to our ferrets. Waiting room is great seeing all the different species of animals.
I ve taken a lot of parrots there. Definitely one of the best in the UK & the only practice I can recomend other than the avian services in Cheshire. Thank you c j hall
very good specjalist, very nice people and good place. i recomend for all guinea pigs and exotic pets owner. thank you so much to care my guinea pigs …
This is a brilliant practice for the more unique pet. Literally saved our little dove's life! Absolutely trusted them and knew she was in the best place possible.
My parrot needed beak surgery and the staff were absolutely lovely and treated my bird so well. They genuinely care about your pet and know what they are doing.
I am looking to get my gills get implants, I know last time I called they dont rake new parients but I only need jabs done. How much will it cost if taking?
I am still thinking about using their service, it was recommended by friends, but the prices are a bit higher for me compared to other veterinary clinics.
Genuine and excellent Doctor with very caring and understanding reception team . It took our worries away as it felt our Guinea pig was in safe hands .
Great vet, Matthew is caring and so knowledgeable, we have taken our budgies here for the last few years and there is no other vet we would go to now
Best place for avian care. A bit pricey but worth the money. They offer boarding service too. Can go away without worrying about my pet's wellbeing.
Excellent exotics care provided to a large range of species from wildlife to reptiles to avian to small curries (even zoo animals or collections!).
Fantastic vets, great wealth of knowledge and totaly understanding of my worries and concerns, spoke clearly and explained everything fantastically
They are a specialist vet who took care of our parrot. Unfortunately she was too poorly an we had to put her to sleep. They were very respectful.
Wonderful and knowledgable vets, consulted a dermatologist for our complex skin-allergy case cat at no extra cost to us. So friendly and helpful.
Amazing vets! Always give me a straight answer and help in anyway possible. Great if you need to take an exotic pet in as they are specialists
Super helpful staff , friendly and helpful I had a bit of a situation with my bearded dragon and they were very efficient highly recommended
We trust them, no question, with caring for our precious chameleons, chickens and snakes. The only place to go for "unusual" animal care.
Matthew is amazing and all the staff there, take my 3 parrots there and the guys are amazing. Would highly recommend. Thank you CJ hall
Very friendly and looked after my little canary beautifully. Easy enough to park close by, despite being sited in a residential area.
Our Chinese water dragon had surgery because of problems laying.. staff were great. Vet amazing. Lizard doing well... Thank you all.
Great Vet for both my Snake and my Skink. They are knowledged, they are friendly and always want to help in the best way they can :)
We've been going to CJ Halls for years and wouldn't go anywhere else for exotic care. They've been truely incredible with our rats.
Friendly, give great advice, and according to a quick Google, pretty averagely priced. Wouldn't take our Stanley anywhere else.
