Brought my car in on a referral from a mutual friend of mine and the owner of this shop. I wish I hadn't. I'm a single mom of 2 special needs boys and my time is scheduled and limited. I brought my car in after a car hit me and then took off. Joe took pictures of all the damage that I pointed out plus what he saw. They had my car for 3 days. When I picked my car up I made the mistake of assuming they completed all the work needed which was photographed by Joe. You can imagine how annoyed I was when I got home to see the paint chip was not fixed at all. Instead of simply acknowledging that he (Joe) made the mistake of not communicating properly with whoever was doing the work and apologize he instead was incredibly rude. He then proceeded to lie and say he never took pictures of the obvious missing paint that i pointed out to him and my mother. My time like everyone else's is precious and valuable. I didn't appreciate it being wasted. To top things off I accidently left my son's handicap placard( this is my fault. I know but who takes a handicap placard?!?!) in the rental that was provided by the shop through Hertz. That conveniently was no where to be found. I'm only left with the assumption that it was taken by either the shop or the rental company. If I could give this place a minus rating I would.

I had an amazing experience with them! I had an emergency yesterday- my tire got punctured and could not retain any air put in. I did not want to tow it so I began driving to Canadian Tire but on the way I saw this mechanic and decided to make a stop since by now I was driving on my rims and could not proceed any further. Despite not having an appointment and the shop being very busy, the owner still took care of my car. He jacked it up for me in his parking lot and changed the punctured tire. He did not even charge me at all- just told me that he didn't want me driving in unsafe conditions. The owner is the most knowledgeable, and kindest mechanic I have ever met. I am very grateful for the coincidence of my car stopping right by his autoshop. I don't know what I would have done without him and he saved me a lot of money since I avoided calling a tow truck in the end. I recommend this mechanic to anyone- they are super helpful, professional, and sympathetic! Once again, thanks so much! :)

Brought my truck to Ancaster Carstar after an accident. They told me to "bring it in, right away" as if there was a chance my vehicle would be looked at quickly. Ended up waiting 4 days just for a quote. They ended up keeping it for 3 MONTHS as there were backorders for parts. Zero communication from them as to the process and I kept having to call them to get an update on the parts. This ordeal ended up racking up thousands of dollars in rental fees which they claim no responsibility for. What a joke. My business is with them and not their parts suppliers. That is their issue which they are responsible for. They are ignorant to my plight and are dismissive on the phone. I can tell this happens all the time and they don't care at all. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT YOU DO! I advise anyone considering ancaster carstar to look elsewhere as they do not take any pride in delivering reasonably on what they agree to. ZERO STARS. Thanks for nothing

Ms. Karoline Cox, as per conversations with you on March 21st & March 23rd after you suggested that we terminate our valued team member that you had a conversation with when your vehicle was in our lot because you thought that he had not disclosed to your insurance company that you had admitted to prior damage on your vehicle, I ask that you please do not use my name to describe conversations that never took place between myself and someone else. If you are not happy about the fact that your claim was denied by your insurance company for several justifiable reasons, as discussed, please take it up with them. At Carstar Ancaster (and carstar automotive) we take great pride in what we do, treat all of our customers equally, we have achieved continuous success over the past several years due to very hard work by all of our valued team members. Was sent here by my insurance company. The front desk service was mostly very good, arranged for rental car etc (because my insurance covered that) and paperwork was all super quick and efficient. The work done was "insurance work" - in other words they fixed/replaced everything they possibly could, despite my admittedly inexpert opinion that some things were just fine and did not need replacing..$$. The downside was they said it was a 2-3 day job, but it ended up taking 5 days, but I never received communication that it was going to be longer. The insurance company was paying for my rental car, but I was taking time off work based on what they told me in order to be able to pick up the car.. which was not ready on the days they said: I ended up calling twice to find out what was going on, each time to be told that it would be a little longer... Not sure why they couldn't have picked up the phone and told me this.

Carstar is a great place to take your car if your not paying for it! Someone hit my car recently, and I took it to carstar for a quote. The people at carstar were very friendly and helpful, but when it came to the quote they quoted me over $2500! They said it was 17.3 hours labor and it would take 6 days! The accident was quite minor and was only a few scratches, some missing paint, and a broken side marker lens. I thought that quote was absolutely ridiculous so I took my car to another shop and the other shop was much more reasonable and quoted me about $830! I’m sure carstar is a great place if your insurance company is paying for the damages, and I cannot say anything about the quality of the work. If you plan on paying for the damages yourself I recommend looking elsewhere.

BEWARE!!! The minor repair came out fine but I am pretty sure someone drove the car. They log the kms in on the day of ESTIMATE not the day they take it in for repair which was a couple of weeks later. Then they boggle you with that fact when you see the huge number of KMs on your car. Unfortunately for them I had just had my oil changed so I have documentation what my KMs where 5 days prior and there is no way I put on that kind of mileage. To add insult to injury who ever used the car used the navigation system and left the address in there-a street I do not frequent. I know it's so "Ferris Bueller" but someone took it home-no wonder a tiny little repair took an extra day (3 in total) to complete.

Extremely disappointed.  My car was taken here after a collision and then declared a write off. I was given permission through my insurance company to retrieve my brand new winter tires/rims that were on the car and exchange them for my old summer ones. However Carstar wanted to charge me $100 to change over the wheels. It does not even cost $100 to get your tires changed seasonally at a professional shop. I had to haggle them down to $60 to change over the tires, tires that I legally own and they would not release them to me without payment. I would not recommed bringing your vehicles here, this behavior is borderline extortion

Golf club set that were in my trunk was stolen. They said, "sure no problem you can leave them in there. Can pick them at a later time". Couple days later after it was determined its a write off I went to retrieve my stuff that were in the car... no clubs, and glove box contents were on the passengers seat. Long story short, they denied even going in the trunk, even though the headlights were removed and placed in the trunk and security footage apparently saw nothing and some of the footage mysteriously disappeared.... yeah your reading that right. Some advise.. dont trust any company no matter how professional they appear.

I just got the repair service at here. Although i had seen some reviews were not good. But what I experienced is the process and all the communication so smooth for me even it is my first time to go to a car repair store. They provided high quality repair. The body after repaired looks like as new. The repair is so quick to let me to save the cost on car rental insurance. The repair cost is also reasonible and it is much more lower than the cost which i estimated. It is surprised to me they even cleaned my car for both exterior and interior. Thank you Carstar. Please keep doing best repair service.

Took my car here to replace my windshield. When I first called, the girl answered the phone gave me a quote for more than $500. I called my insurance & they I’ll use my $500 deductible. When I picked up my car, the bill was less than $300. They knew it went to my insurance. I told them I was quoted over $500 & that’s the reason I went through my insurance or otherwise I wouldn’t use my deductible. With back & forth phone calls. They send me copy invoice they send to my insurance for additional cost, to make the invoice $500. What a joke. I’ll never go back.

Can't go any lower than 1-star unfortunately. We've dealt with Carstar a number of times for our BMWs for insurance claims, and every time it has gotten worse. We were told we would have our vehicle back the latest within a week, then we received a call today (day before we should have expected it) that they haven't started any of the work and are having trouble ordering the part in, aka they just ordered it that day. Take your vehicles to other body shops that take pride in their work, not corporate/insurance backed ones.

Not a good experience with this location. My car took a month and a half to get back and the job was still not complete. I expected more by choosing Carstar but I will not be returning here for any reason. 2 star rating for my experience with this company. They also forgot an intake tube to the engine which has now caused further damage to my turbo. NEVER BRING YOUR CAR HERE! All they want to do is over bill insurance companies and not provide the full service your car will need.

The paint job here is not bad, but all they were doing is to used up as much as they can to make any possible money out of your insurance claims. I got shocked from the price they've charged to my insurance. Still missing one piece that they said once the part ordered is in, they will call me, but this was almost one and half YEARS ago! If you are paying yourself for the fix, this place charge way more than what it supposed to be.

Front bumper came off on my car, so I came here to assess repair costs. Only waited a short while before I was looked after. They helped me snap the bumper back on (to a usable state) and offered advice on how I can work with it (as it is) if I didn't want to go through a full repair and gave me a quote on how much that'd cost. Everyone I talked to was very friendly and helpful. Note that the parking lot may be pretty filled.

The secretary was really friendly and welcoming. She was great and the only reason I'm giving it 3 stars . Unfortunately, I didn't feel like the sales team cared too much about my issue. Maybe my issue wasn't lucrative enough??? I ended up doing the job at my car dealer. Pro tip. If you help a customer with a small issue, chances are the customer will come back with a larger issue. I will not be coming back .

My father hit a pole and ruined the entire front end of his car. I have seen multiple incidents that were fairly close to what damage my father had done. With that said, this car star has repaired my fathers car as best as I have ever seen a repair job done. Mr. Joe Saputo took very good care of us and we are now forever customers. I highly recommend this place.

Brought my car to get fixed after the whole side of my car was wrecked. Honestly I couldn't have asked for any better of a job like wow my car looks new again. I am beyond happy with the results and grateful for the staff there keeping me informed and updated the whole entire process. Not a great experience. Not very friendly & took a very long time to complete the work. They put the wrong hood on my vehicle & were doing everything they could to not fix it. After months of back & forth, my insurance had me go to a different CARSTAR & they replaced the hood with the correct one. I would never use CARSTAR Ancaster again.

Amazing workmanship, great customer service all round and the job was done quickly. My car was cleaned inside and out including my disgusting tech mats. Would go to the Ancaster location in a heart beat if ever needed. They took care of things with my insurance company and had my rental ready when I dropped my car off.

Very good experience with this Ancaster branch of CARSTAR. Delightfully professional and expeditious, from the office staff through to the shop. The work as quoted was completed in a rather timely manner; the results of their labours were quite stunning. I do recommend their travails for all car body needs.

Great experience from day one, fast response on the phone, fast estimate, car rental experience at location was a breeze (enterprise). Overall repair was great, they even washed and cleaned my interior. Very pleased, if I ever get into another accident which I hope I never do I will go back there.

The front desk staff is very professional. The job was done excellently. Was told initially that it is a 2 weeks job but for some reason, they kept the car for 3 weeks before starting to work on it, when I started to complain they acted very fast and finished it in 4 days.
