A Charming place... I was in Melbourne for 10 days for work purposes. Although I was there mainly for work my accommodation made all the difference. It felt like I was home! My accommodation was booked at this lovely place called Burnbank Estate. Burnbank Estate is full of character, charm and presented its own unique history. The ground is full of greenery that everyday after work, as i drive thru the hedge covered entrance and along the driveway with trees and shrubs on either side, it was as if I was driving towards a secret garden. The house itself is so beautiful with all the amenities and modern conveniences. The bedroom and bathroom are cleaned everyday. The owners, the lovely Barbara & Damien, does a great job in running the place - keeping the place clean, cosy and so inviting. They are both so accommodating and make you feel so welcome in their own home, that you feel like you are part of their family. I hope to visit this Charming place again. Thank you very much Barbara & Damien!!! - aileen

Very beautiful house, comfortable beds, reasonably priced. Care takers were nice and attentive. Love the 12 o'clock check out. Large bath too small for large people, hand soap, shower and bath soap were watered down and actual soap was cut up blocks, came across as cheap. There's a cute dog but it leaves hair in the pool and the pool has a bit much algae and not enough chlorine, the spa however had so much chlorine that it burnt our skin, eyes, nose and lungs. Cat is nice but eats off the table in the breakfast room, plates were actually stuck to the table. Yoghurt was out of date but had been frozen. Good supply for breakfast but basic. Plunger and coffee machine is horrible, but good supply of teas. No air conditioning but fans available huntsmans too. Towels were stained but clean. Grounds are beautiful in a wild yet maintained kind of way. Overall it's a nice place but I probably wouldn't stay again.

Lovely, dog-friendly, quaint, character-filled historical home with very comfortable rooms complete with amenities such as a coffee pod machine, kettle, toaster etc. Did I mention dog friendly? We needed a place to stay overnight that would welcome our doggo and were not disappointed. Hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Room rate reasonable, with included continental breakfast. I wish we'd had more time to get to explore the gardens and use the inviting-looking pool. Will definitely be back :)

Made booking had to make many calls left massages no return. Finally got through and confirmed a booking for 26th December. Arrived at site to be told that we had not confirmed booking but they were expecting us we could use managers quarters. The managers quarters had cat in front with food and the whole unit stunk. We refused and left. The advertised pool was filthy. Only the gardens were attractive. Very poor management and a definite lack of upkeep. Would not recommend was surprised considering previous positive posts.

The house was lovely! The grounds were beautiful. My husband had been in Casey Hospital and it was lovely to go to this gorgeous house for the night, after he was discharged. We had our dog with us and she was very happy. We loved the bed in our room and the bath was amazing! I only briefly met the owner, Damien, but his granddaughter, Gemma was helpful and friendly. We will be back at the hospital in about 4-6 wks, and we will definitely stay here again!

We stayed at Burnbank last night in the Federation Room. The room was just as it is in the photo's on the web site. Our friends stayed in the other rooms, and we all agreed that this was a great place to stay. The hosts are friendly and made us very welcome, as did their two dogs and a cat! The home is magnificent, being built in 1854. Some reviewers have complained about the home, but we found it to be a wonderful place to stay, full of character, and in a great location. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic place. Didn't even know this is in my own backyard. Perfect little getaway without going to a new city. Quiet yet friendly, all the amenities you need and your pooch is welcome too. Thank you myself and Sasha enjoyed our stay.

Lovely house set in beautiful gardens. I only had a very short stay but would love to come back and spend more time. The hosts were lovely and the room was very comfortable with everything I needed. A variety of breakfast foods available. Definately a hidden gem! Great value for the room and pet friendly too!

The owners were very welcoming and helpful, the room itself and on suite were very romantic and one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in. The swimming pool was clean and a great little oasis to sit by or do laps in. The breakfast choices were amazing to suit a variety of tastes. We were very happy here and for the the price, I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Brilliant old style home. Cosy antique bed with a sneaky hidden door to the porch. I stopped because I needed to stop but was brilliantly surprised at the delightful welcoming and beautiful heritage home. The owner could not be more warm and inviting. Highly recommended.

  • Emily Hammond

Beautiful place and the owners could not have been more accommodating! I can't wait to stay again. Lovely breakfast included considering it's not a "cooked breakfast" you couldn't ask for more! Very impressed. And the friendly dog made the place feel even more homely!

  • Kerry Leemon

IF I COULD GIVE A ZERO STAR RATING I WOULD! This place was filthy. We had dirty linen, bandaid in the shower, droppings (black droplets of some description) on the cups, the dust was an inch thick. When we spoke with the owners they had nothing but excuses.
