I WILL NEVER USE BUDGET AGAIN IN MY LIFE. If I could give ZERO stars, I would! This is the ABSOLUTE WORST experience at a car rental company that I've ever had in my entire life. When I finally got to the counter after waiting over an hour in line to pick up my rental, I was told that I couldn't use my debit card, even though there was a sign on the counter indicating that it was possible to use a debit card. We had to put the reservation on my colleague's credit card, but I was told I could pay for the rental with my debit card upon return of the car. When I returned the car yesterday, I told the agent I wanted to pay with a different card than was used for the reservation. The agent gave me a receipt and told me to pay at the counter. I went to the counter and while waiting in line, I received an email with a receipt for the rental, paid on my colleague's card! EXACTLY WHAT I TOLD THEM NOT TO DO! When I finally spoke with an agent, after waiting for another hour, he told me that he refunded my colleague's card and charged my debit card. He said he would email me a receipt confirming this. IN FACT HE DID NEITHER! My colleague's card was still charged. He did not issue me a receipt nor a confirmation for the refund as I requested. So I called Budget this morning to request a receipt for payment on the new card and confirmation for the refund. The agent on the phone confirmed that my colleague's card was refunded and he would send me a receipt. GUESS WHAT? I just received a receipt that shows that the rental was STILL CHARGED TO MY COLLEAGUE'S CARD! How many times do I have to ask for the same service? I have had to call the number THREE TIMES now and I am so frustrated. The agents are either lying to me, or their system is completely malfunctioning at the expense of customers.

I would give 4 stars for how Budget eventually fixed our issue and 0 stars for how Jeanette caused it, so that brings me to a 2-star review. We booked our car online, but we wanted to change the return location. We therefore went to the store one day in advance and were told that this was no issue: we could change that during the actual pickup the next day. The next day we picked up the car and wanted to change the return location from Palm Springs to Temecula. However, the employee 'helping' us, Jeanette, assured us this was no issue and that it would not lead to additional fees, as Temecula and Palm Springs are in the same region. We still repeatedly asked to change this on the confirmation, as it's not the first time renting a car and moreover, it just seemed as if Jeanette was not pleased with our request at all and had no sense to help us. The confirmation was not going to be changed. And so we left. Now guess what happened when we turned in the car in Temecula: we got charged an additional 100 dollars for returning to a different location .. surprise surprise. Then it took a few phone calls and >30 mins waiting time before I could actually speak to an agent who would help me and from then it all went quite smooth. Budget acknowledged this strange state of affairs and therefore reimbursement the 100 dollars. So all in all I would say this is just another car rental company where you have to be extremely aware of what you sign, otherwise you're screwed. And specifically for this store: make sure you're even more sharp in case you're "assisted" by Jeanette.

Ich hätte gerne meine Mietdauer verlängert. Da das nur geht, bei der Filiale bei der man das Auto abgeholt hat (Langzeitmiete) und ich diese aber niemals telefonisch erreicht habe, konnte ich die Miete nicht verlängern. Da mir für meine zweimonatige Miete nur ein Vertrag für den ersten Monat gegeben wurde, kann ich auch nicht online die Miete eigenständig verlängern. Der CustomerService kann auch nicht helfen, da diese denken, dass ich das Auto schon längst wieder zurückgegeben haben müsste. Bei der Abholung wurde uns nichts zum Auto selbst erklärt. Es wurde auch keine Mängelliste angelegt (das Auto sei neu). Zur Rückgabe wurde auch nichts erwähnt. Ich bin auf die Rückgabe sehr gespannt.

No issues with the car and the pickup process was quick and painless. Just a word of warning to parents that need car seats - it would be worth doing some googling on how to install one before you arrive, as it’s up to you to install them yourself. Also it didn’t look like they had many seats available, so there is a chance they won’t have one when you get there (I was just lucky - it didn’t appear they’d organised to set any aside or have the right amount available for my booking).

Nous avions peur que la personne nous vende des assurances supplémentaires mais pas du tout. La prise .charge du vehicule a été très rapide (peut être un peu trop) c'etait une première pour nous. Nous avons donné une carte de crédit pour la caution, signé le contrat avec une somme a 0 dollars et nous voilà avec les clefs d'un Toyota Rav 4 et un numéro d'emplacement où trouver la voiture. Nous avons juste demandé quelle essence mettre. Très contente de la voiture presque neuve.

Extremely rude agent at the desk that processed my return. She also overcharged me by several hundred dollars. I had to call customer service to reverse the charge. They are also located in a parking garage but do not accept after hours returns. They do not accept returns past 1pm on the weekend and they'll charge you a full extra day! Worst car rental experience I have had in North America.

Beach Street location is great location to rent from. Easy in and out. Easy to get to many SF attractions and sights. Have rented here several times in 10yrs. Have referred many friends. Always a painless and hassle-free experience. Owner/operator is a very professional, friendly, and accommodating lady. Have always been given a low mileage and clean car. Will always rent here.

Got over-charged for my rental and wasn't even sent an invoice, despite me asking for one via email. I would at least like to know why I'm being ripped off. Then I couldn't get anyone at customer service on the line, despite waiting 20+ minutes. Take your business elsewhere, folks. This is amateur hour.

Check your contact! They will remove unlimited tolls package option just to raise your rate and let you be surprised in a few weeks when you get the toll charges! Also they told me I had to wait over an hour because they didn’t have any cars available but other people walked up and were given cars.

Excellent service from this location, the lady that served us on Sunday 12th of May was excellent, she was really friendly and didn't try to push extras on us, that always puts me off so was nice to just get what I'd already selected with no fuss. Great location, same office as Avis.

The gentleman behind the counter was very helpful and upgraded my reservation with no charge to SUV because SUV was not available when i made the reservation. He also helped me to save an overnight charge.

This place comes highly recommended: Offers great and uncomplicated service, gave us high flexibility and very affordable (even lowered rate to a much lower total than initially anticipated.

We rented 2 times here. Everything was good we had really great cars. Just be careful of the price they wanted to make us pay 100$ more. But everything was good and fast when we noticed it.

Best car rental place in the city - rented from them many times and always top notch customer service, new (500< miles odometer) cars and squeaky clean. Would highly recommend!

Fast, friendly, almost new Tesla with no damage. I love this. In Europe, budget is your enemy. Here it's a delight. Gonna use again.
