I don't recommend this university even though it's world ranking looks good. The real thing is that ranking can be upgraded by spending a lot of money to the qs or times higher education, and british universities like this one invest a lot of money to just maintain good ranking. If u choose british university, u have to be very careful because a good rank doesn't mean that its education system is really that good. Actually, they focus on ranking to attract students from poor countries who have not good analytical skill. By just seeing the so called RANKING, these students are easily attracted and spend a lot of money to these kinds of universities whose main purpose is just business. On the other hand, germany and norway charge no tuition fee but their education system is excellent. And many other eu countries' tuition fee is very low but education is very good, so, i suggest non-eu students to choose other countries. Another way they try to convince the international students is that they tell them about the placement after completion of student and that they have 98% employment rate. But, believe that this is a big LIE!. They know that many international can easily spend a lot of money in these types of universities just after seeing this type of placement news. Just think one thing, you don't even get a simple basic clerical job in your own country, so how u can expect good corporate job in a highly developed country just because u have their master degree.Getting a good job and earning good money depend on your skill and ability. If you don't know the work or if your result is bad, why will the employer give u placement and good salary each month, is there any logic?? Even in the top companies in the world (facebook, google microsoft, amazon..), there are many employees who just have a simple diploma or even from other background, but they do job there and earn a lot of money because they have skill. It's surprising that even a lot of native students in UK don't want to spend a lot of money to these kinds of education, instead, they choose germany or other countries where tuition fee is very low. If these british students are very careful about their investment, so why non-eu people should spend a lot of money in a wrong place??? If you see their admission requirement, u will notice that it's very easy (they just want a 2.2 which is very low score and also a low IELTS score), and my question, how the admission requirement of such a good ranked university can be so easy. The answer is that they just want to get weak students who are academically poor and they want to earn a lot of money in the name of education from these students. If the education system is really good, the admission requirement should have been more rigid. If u want to get admission in a similar ranked university in Germany, us or canada, u have to have a very good result with a good GMAT score etc. So, I suggest the non-eu to spend your money in a good place. Don't be brainwashed. And one more thing, British economy is highly dependent on money from education business, so, whenever, their economy is in a declining position, they will lessen the student visa requirement and lessen the university admission requirement to get more and more students. Remember, their main target is the students of India, pakistan, bangladesh because they know very well that the students from these countries generally lack analytical ability and these countries have a lot of ready-made weak students who can easily be convinced by London/UK branding or so called university ranking and these students are also very emotional, so they can easily be brainwashed. Many students choose UK because its admission is very easy, probably the easiest in the world, but no benefit comes without cost. Here, although admission requirements are easy, the tuition fee is very high, lack of enough scholarship for international students and poor quality of education. So, I advice non-eu students, especially indians, not to get trapped..

Not great. About to enter my final year and can’t say i have been impressed. Awful halls to live in, very expensive but with frequent issues with buildings & maintenance staff very rude. The newer buildings are okay, but definitely avoid the older ones. Everything is always just slightly worse then it should be. Moved into new halls kitchen not been cleaned from last tenants etc. Work to be done to rooms which isn’t completed before tenants move in. All first hand experience. For context, I have lived in Mill, Shoreditch & spent a lot of time in Fleming. Fairly clean and quiet campus but no respect for residential quiet hours and frequently very loud. Definitely a common halls problem for all uni’s, but the brunel staff also contribute to this noise (frequently been woken up by cleaners from 6:30 am, multiple days a week). Sometimes staff even being rude while in your room/flat. The living standards would be my main complaint, make sure your okay with slightly substandard service before you commit! The only positive about the student living experience is that if you do put a formal complaint in (which unfortunately i have had to do) they are quick to respond to attempt to sort the issue. But in my experience, this is only true if you start a formal complaint. Facilities on campus ok, but nothing to write home about. Definitely not all modern and definitely not all clean all the time. Same with the course and lecturers. They’re good, depending on course, but feel like you could get a similar experience at a lot of universities. This is a more individual experience, so hard to make general comments on the standard. In my experience it has been okay, although i wouldn’t describe it as a supportive environment, theres long time between assessment to feedback and its usually pretty generic, as students we are expected to do everything 100%, and get penalised for infractions, but staff can often push back marking deadlines and not be the most communicative, but we are expected to be okay with that. But again, this heavily depends on course & lecturers. I have studied a year of politics and now going into my third year of law, so have had a varied experience of teaching over subjects as well as online teaching and in person teaching experience. To summarise, the living situation is what would put me off, the course and lecture stuff is pretty generic to most uni’s. Every single hall has problems but as its students theres no aim to fix it, or be better, but still charge astronomical rent. I have also privately rented during my time at uni, and found this to be a much more pleasant experience with higher quality everything (from communication with landlord/agent to the standard of room), which could be a solution if you’re set on Brunel (as some courses have great reputations). Too many problems over the years i’ve been here, to the point i chose to vacate my tenancy during covid 2021 just to feel comfortable and get a good night sleep, but now i’m in 2023 and facing similar issue! There is definitely a disconnect from Brunel in understanding that these are peoples homes, not just rooms they’ve rented out. They definitely do not treat you with the respect that it is your home, it’s business for them. Hoped it was a covid thing, but apparently not, so unfortunately not able to recommend. Also worth mentioning- awful awful awful wifi. I cannot stress this enough, ethernet okay, but wifi to my Iphone in all the halls i’ve lived in ABYSMAL. Again, another frequent experience. Happy to share more on my time here - as i’m sure i’m not the only one. I have read a lot of the other 1-2 star reviews and would say i agree with a lot of them, and all that has been said is a frequent & common student experience.

Not so good if you work here! Prospective candidates bear this first para in mind. Brunel has sadly fallen into the trap of being a business rather than a respected seat of education, favoring numbers rather than quality, mostly due to lack of Government funding, the class numbers are often ridiculously high. By there own rules one class should have had three technicians, but only had one. When questioned senior management said their is no budget for extra staff (but had money for an entire new building) I worked here for 5 months and was bullied over and over again by just one member of staff. Being a new member of staff i naturally turned to my management chain to sort this but ultimately they sided with the bully, why? well he successfully sued his previous employer for wrongful dismissal and they were scared of him. I actually feared for my safety as this member was erratic and often physically "loud" so i presented the managers with a very fair and reasonable compromise options and they rejected every one. I was injured here and was sacked whilst on certificated leave. On a side note the bullying has continued with another member of staff. Otherwise the other members of staff were great and hard working, often in difficult situations and without correct equipment. Mr Brunel would be ashamed of his name being associated with this place and is likely jumping right out of his grave to kick the managements teeth in!

Its a shame to run a business with no refund policy. You cheat and steal hard earned money from students. Admissions team is very disorganised and unresponsive to messages. Instead they bombard you with emails requesting for all sorts, and when you send them, they take very little actions towards your concerns. They don't care about anything but getting the cash. Highly disappointed from Brunel university for not being able to refund my tuition fee deposit which was £8700 since September 2022, which I requested after refused the course I wanted to study in. I changed my mind to study chased multiple times for the refund by filling out my refund form, initially they approved and asked me to wait for a week and later refused to make the refund with false excuses. My student ID is 2261123 Is this the way you entertain the student who are looking to study in Brunel University? Is this your nature of treating international students when they ask for their refund?? I need my refund asap or else I will take a drastic step because if we are not using your source of education and services then how can you charge someone for nothing? Terrible university, staff, terrible support!

I applied for brunel university before three months after that I got my conditioner letter and unconditional letter in foundation year .then I payed my 70% fees and give him my financial report after that I got my draft CAS after that brunel college mailed me that your score is low update your score result I updates my score result and sended them then they say this is no vailed and other few conditions they says before my draft CAS and I completed all requirements of college but they not give my final CAS I am still waiting last 40 days and I am already mail to college but they can’t response any single mail they can’t answer anything they can’t receive calls .my main point is after giving me unconditional letter and draft CAS why brunel college says this type of conditions ? why they not say before my condition and unconditional letter ?? I am still waiting for my answer give my final CAS .this is not fair for students .very bad experience by brune I am very very disappointed by this type of work

Brazil, Chinese , india, Africa’s e.t.c 5 :Brunel uni is very disabled student friendly. I have a Flatmates who are disabled, got well take cared . 6: summit your room key in time of the day you move out , they will ask you pay 50pounds if you move out same day but few hours late. Above , P.S do research before you choose ideal uni . Enrolled on the Games Design course with a foundation degree (only had to do 1 more year for the full degree) but was forced to start from the first year again. I had to repeat a ton of work I had already done at a different university, which was a waste of time. During the second term I stopped attending lectures and decided to drop out. I asked the university for a partial refund as I had only completed half the year, but unsurprisingly they refused to give me a penny. So I basically paid them £9000 for nothing. It was a huge mistake to pay for the year in full at the beginning, if I paid term by term I would've saved a lot of money. Since dropping out I've been struggling with long term unemployment, not knowing what to do and don't have any support. If I was given my refund I would've finished my degree at a different university by now. On a brighter note some of the lecturers are great and the ones that caused me grief no longer work there, so I guess the university has that going for them.

My course was missold: I was told that Modern Drama Studies was 80% practical and 20% academic (written work) but in reality it was 50/50! I did not read for this course in order to have to take an elective in English Literature as the course on its own was not substantial enough to be able to get enough credits to pass the first year. Seriously like wth?! This was also never explained to anyone before hand, who wants to be forced to take an "elective"?! Make sure you ask how practical it is and if you need to do other modules in other subjects to make up credits to get your degree. With regards to the drama course: the practical side of it was great if only it was 100% practical because who wants to be having to do so much written work and having to write reviews of plays?! It's a very confused course. Who is it for actors or theatre critics?! :s Luckily I left after 4 months!

My wife and I have just returned from dropping off our son at his accommodation at Brunel University, Bishop Complex Kilmorey Hall. Despite sticking to the allotted timings issued on our paperwork by the University, informing us to arrive between 13-00 & 14-00, we were refused parking anywhere near his block, and in fact the security guard seemed to find it quite amusing when we pointed out the information we had been given. He simply stated 'good luck' ! Not impressed ! Upon finally finding our son's room we were delighted with it's apparent cleanliness and overall condition. We were and remain, very concerned that again despite written assurances from the University, he did not have a double bed in his room as required under medical provision, something which I shall be contacting University about first thing tomorrow morning. Not a good start Brunel. Mr Jeremy Betts

Great university great experience and brilliant teachers from all different diversities and cultural backgrounds. Great teaching ethics, it's a great place to achieve, to whomever the archiver maybe or may want to become. At Brunel university has the credibility to take you too and beyond heights, depending how far you want to take your achievements, I'm. Loving it not a dull moment and I'm not living on campus, but when I'm studying on-site, I'm getting all the prospects I could ever desire. Especially supporting staff, are there for you when you need them. Sometimes you may need to needle around a bit, at times but that's nothing unusual it's. University of course and this is where you become responsible for the education you want to walk away with. All Thanks Too Brunel University. 10/10 Work hard study hard play even harder to gain a better future.

I studied MSc Marketing at London South Bank University and MSc Business Intelligence and Digital Marketing at Brunel University. So, I can point out differences. Professors at Brunel University are least worried about educating students. One of them actually mentioned in an open class that he retired and was teaching only because of the "good money". We even complained about how few professors just read the slides and no action has been taken against them whereas LSBU fired a professor within 48 hours of complaint. Brunel University has very complicated administrative procedure. A decision on whether or not I should be given a chance to resit took 9 months after chasing for months. I gave the one star because of the student activities and finance department. A big No-No to Brunel University unless you are looking for Sports related courses.

  • H K

Do not recommend. We as students are expected to meet every single expectation like submitting assignments on time etc etc but when it comes to the university fulfilling our expectations not even one star. Most lecturers do not communicate with the students for example if exam feedback will be posted two weeks later the actual date its meant to be released, module lecturers give no warning or advance emails but there we are as students on the online platform checking our grades wondering why they aren’t there. There are some senior lecturer/staff members who are so lovely but overall this university just isn’t it especially for my cohort who had been here throughout covid they did nothing for us but here we are paying 10 grand a year regardless have made zero friends and lived on prerecorded lectures for two years.

Brunel is home of my post graduation in Business Intelligence. I enjoyed staying in hostel within university. It is one big university with all academic, accommodation, labs, libraries, sports and lecture centers located within one university premises. International teachers from China and Korea are sometimes difficult to understand in lectures because of their version of English accent. Apart from that, Brunel offered all educational and ex-curricular resources to keep students healthy from academic, mental and physical nourishment perspectives. The admin staff is very supportive and always active to help. I never faced any issues whatsoever during my stay in Brunel. I would strongly recommend this university to students who want to seek quality education from one of the best universities in London.

  • Marwan Nasr ElDin mohamed

I applied there for academic year 2020 and I'm so happy I didn't chose this horrible place as my firm choice. The admission department have no clue how to verify my international qualifications and they offered me to do foundation year although I'm more than qualified for my mechanical engineering course as I got offers from top universities like UCL and imperial. They told me over the phone we won't change our mind and you are not qualified and they couldn't even tell me why I'm not qualified even though I meet all the criteria. They asked me to email a guy called peter who is supposed to be the head of the engineering department and after waiting 2 months he never came back to me. Absolutely disgusting

  • Nano Habibi

I applied there, and I sent them my Scottish qualifications HNC and HND as well as my international diploma, and I recieved good grades and for some reason they said I do not meet requirements so they sent me to their college LBIC for foundation, and they wasted 2 months replying to me and asking me to fill forms and fee questionners to be classified as a home student, and in the end even the foundation year was not accepted for me despite I have more than what I need and HNC! HNC is equivalent to first year university in Scotland, so why on earth would they not accept? I have raised concerns and I did say I will complain against this college/uni. Completely unacceptable and a waste of time

  • Shukie exercise

I am highly disappointed in Brunel University for not being able to refund my tuition deposit since September 2022, which I requested after being refused the course I desire to study. The most annoying part is their none responsive nature to emails on time. How can a school give 28 days as the waiting time for email replies? It's absurd! Their level of incompetency is second to none. A wide communication gap between the school and the public is just too despicable. I need my refund asap and from this point, I will take a drastic step that you won't ever imagine. 2242707 is my Student ID, do the needful before I do what damage control can not fix.

  • Steve Phillips

Brutalist architecture at its finest and I am pleased to hear that the Lecture Centre now has listed status. I was a student here from 1969 to 1973 and had a great time. It was still in the process of being built and the library was completed in my final year. Since then the student numbers have increased tenfold! A nicely spaced campus with the river Pinn running through the middle. Conveniently situated in West London. Uxbridge Underground Station (1.1 mile walk or 10 mins by bus), West Drayton Station (1.7 miles for Crossrail when it opens!) and Heathrow (4.2 miles). Parking is limited if you arrive after 9am Monday to Friday.

Worst experience of my life definitely moving university next year , no moral or emotional support I have lost both my uncle on 2 different occasions with a space of 2 month I was refused a extenuating circumstance claim because I didn’t have evidence in time to submit that my uncle passed away , as if someone lies about these sensitive matters , I have tried to contact them again saying I will submit evidence at later date still no reply the dead line of assignment was passed and I have submitted my assignment incomplete . Thank you Brunel such a promising university

  • Danny Kheylik

(This review is only about campus internet and IT services they provide) Wi-Fi and a whole procedure of the connection to it is a complete shi.. just because they decided to use 802.1x, security of the connection is horrible. And obviously you are not allowed to use MAC-changer which is quite important for me. Horrible connection speed (10mbps for me). So if you are planning to use Brunel’s Wi-Fi, I can just wish u good luck and give an advice of getting ur own 4g modem. Obviously there are ways to make it usable, but make sure Brunel won’t know about that.

  • Rajib Chowdhury

I was a postgraduate student in brunel University 2008 - 2010. I lived in Saltash Hall for 1 year. This campus is beautiful and modern. Class room is walking distance. Neighborhood community is friendly. And this area is so far crime free. As a Muslim I attended iftar with other Muslim students. And there was Jumma prayer arrangement within University. They were friendly with international students. Nice place for live and study. 1 year is too short for an masters course in engineering. library facilities and post graduate facilities were excellent.

  • Mohammed Akeel

Convenient location (safe, quite, friendly locals, and has all needed facilities: gyms, bars, clubs, restaurants, even DHL...etc), very diverse university (ranked 15th in the world in terms of students diversity, you meet people from Mauritius, Trinidad and Brunei). Proper graduate housing (Isambard complex), QS world university ranking: 330. Engineering school: world class professors, advanced labs. Got admitted from York, Surrey and Brunel, Brunel was the fastest university to send me my CAS number. Best MSc experience, GO to Brunel, GO to London.

  • Benedict Tertsea Shinku

In anticipation of a career switch, I decided on a Masters degree in Building Services Engineering at Brunel after 2 decades as a Mechanical (Maintenance) Engineer in the Oil and Gas Industry. The content of the course and delivery was satisfying and connected very well with the vast experience I had on Maintenance. The teaching facilities and library were excellent. The Academics and Administration were very supportive. I found the course relevant and satisfying and decided to proceed to a PhD at Brunel.

  • Charlotte Porter

If I could I'd give Brunel 0 stars. I started my education with Brunel in 2020. worst decision ever. The course leaders were so unprepared, a lecturer was hired weeks into the term so I was essentially part time for the first 2 months and was paying full-time tuition. Admin at Brunel take weeks to get back to you. I've attended other universities for study and had amazing experiences. My experience at Brunel was abysmal. Disorganised, rude, unprofessional and a waste of money.

  • Khizra Nadeem

This the worst university ever i would never recommend it any body. They gave me an unconditional offer and after fulfilling all the requirements when i was about to pay my fee. They mailed me that your application is cancelled and you are not eligible for this course. I was shocked that what has happened i couldn't understand. There were no replying, no response from admission team. Worst management ever. They are just running business. That's all.

  • hils A.

Love Brunel, best post grad experience ever!! The business school is top notch and my time there was seamless. The lecturers are attentive and always make themselves available if you need any help. The environment is perfect, the library is well stocked and even though I lived off campus,it was pretty easy to get to uni via public transport. The social and academic experience combined, makes this school totally worth it. Proud to be a Brunel alumni.

Crazy road system but once figured out then driving and parking on campus not too bad. That being said asking for directions from staff member in the building I was supposed to be in resulted in a rather terse response. Turns out entrance was via the rear of the building like that was obvious? Room the day event was in was very hot and not very well designed. Did reduce the overall event for me.

  • Yash Bhandari

Have done my Masters there in Marketing and branding. Perfect university for marketing geeks and sports lovers.... Huge campus with almost everything included, staff is so friendly and helpful especially for international students. Great help from different clubs and societies.... Sharp placement options too plus its reputation and name is enough to stand out in market. :)

  • Uygar Ramos Oztas

Turned my University days into hell, I am an off campus student studying Accounting and Economics, 90% of lecturers are clueless to what they are doing, the security and parking people think they are the police when they are just security... No parking at all... Nobody positive, all you sense around the uni is negativity from students to lectures to staff... DO NOT COME !

Brunel University London is a public research university located in the Uxbridge area of London, England. It was founded in 1966 and named after the Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel. In June 1966, Brunel College of Advanced Technology was awarded a royal charter and became Brunel University. The university is often described as a British plate glass university.

  • Aftab Ahmed

The main target of this uni is just to convince rich international students and take huge money in the name of education. But their education has no value in real life.Even getting an internship is also difficult with their education. If u believe their sweet words, U will fall in trap. Go to Germany or Norway if want good education.

  • Federico Riva

I did my MSc year at Brunel. Everything had been amazing. The professors and the teaching facilities were very good (I was in the Computer Science department). We had the opportunity to do many projects. The accommodation and the whole campus is nice as well and in a good area. There are also plenty of occasions to meet new people.

  • Mahekjot Mundi

The exam system at this university is very unfair, especially towards international students. To be specific, I am talking about the physiotherapy program. Some examinors do not pay attention during practical exams and can fail students for no reason. They don’t care how hard you have worked and can easily withdraw you.

  • arka roy

Great University! Course was well thought and masterfully delivered. Had amazing opportunities to work with some truly exceptional professors. They also helped with job applications which was a huge help. Brunel's reputation as a first rate Engineering University also opens doors at a lot of places. Very satisfied!

  • Aneta Juchimiuk

Please, avoid at all costs. Here are a few reasons why: 1. No dissertation supervisor for 1.5 months. 2. No replaying for emials. 3. Threatening phone calls about the tuition fee. 4. Discriminating against disabled students. Please leave a comment if you want to know more. I will gladly share you the entire story.

  • Aml sa'ad

The uni was very unique. However, the most important thing that has changed my life was councealing service. I was struggling with homesickness they were always there for me. Staff, lecturers, administrators they are all there for there students. Very proud of Brunel. i will choose it again for my master.

  • Travel and Food

If you want to enjoy a campus life Brunel is the answer. Beautiful campus, excellent facilities for students, teachers were great too and best student life. I had wonderful experience studying at Brunel. International students must consider this Uni for Multi-culture experience.

Extremely pathetic university. They are just running business. Lecturer at Computer Science department are so unhelpful and rude. No reply to emails and no proper feedback. Incompetent staff. I would never ever recommend this university to anyone. Thumbs down …

Brunel University is quite easy to find. I just started studying there today. The business school is one of the newest schools on the campus. It's got everything you can think of. I highly recommand this uni if you are going to study in London!

  • Laurențiu Dumitru

This university is just trying to take our money. Everything is expensive, but the quality of the services is pretty bad. Its main purpose is to be a business rather than to actually educate people. The area is bad as well, nothing to do here.

  • Pruthviraj Rathod

Best college and university, Infrastructure is modern, all the facilities are available, professor are knowledgeable and kind to their student, lots of activities on the campus, subway, costco, and many shops available to students for snacks.

AAhh Brunel, my beautiful university... Without a doubt the most beautiful campus in London. Academic success is good. Academics are very successful. Hostel facilities are very good. It is a valuable university.

Beautiful college situated in the suburban town of Uxbridge, West London. I spent two weeks at the university during Summer 2023 and followed an English course for foreign students. It's a well organized campus.

I went here as a school trip a few dats ago and if was a lovely place, beautiful building but the sfudent ambassador i was with was not a very nice person. But apart from that, the place is a lovely university.

  • Sadim Alsamarraie

Amazing University Studied there and the place is amazing, nice buildings and campus in general. lots of open spaces unlike central London universities. and above all, their engineering school is top rank.

  • Peter Fieldwalker

An exciting place to expand you're knowledge and crack out the boombox for a game of hackeysack. A lot of students hang around the area but once you get used to it it's bearable. Very nice.

  • Alif Ahmed

Great University. I love the lectures and is definitely one of the best uni for engineering course. I'm doing electronic and computer engineering and I'm really proud to be here.

  • Anagha D

A Dream Come True . Honestly a great Campus and overall experience . Advanced Labs and supportive professors . I made really great friends with different culture .

  • Shawmiyan

It's definitely a good uni, but I don't recommend doing a foundation year. Most of the students were very silly and the way the course was set up was flawed.
