On the evening of Thursday 23rd November, after I had received some devastating news, I visited Bill’s in South Bank. Upon entering the restaurant, there was a table of 2, viewing the menu and a table of 4, who were having drinks. The restaurant was not busy. After waiting to be served, I tried to catch the attention of a member of staff to place an order but this was difficult because 3-4 members of staff were standing in the corner, chatting and laughing together. I ordered a glass of house white wine, portion of pigs in blankets and a rump steak, medium rare with garlic butter and halloumi fries, only, due to my gluten intolerance. After 15-20 minutes, I got up to enquire how long my meal would take, because there were no other diners in the restaurant. The member of staff who had taken my order was in the corner of the bar, on his phone. The manager arrived with my food shortly after. My food was served with gravy, no garlic butter and no pigs in blankets. I was so disappointed and told her that my order was wrong. She didn’t apologise or rectify it immediately but instead sauntered off, with an attitude, to speak to the member of staff who took my order, who was still on his phone. They proceeded to talk whilst looking over at me, which was uncomfortable. After a few minutes, my order had not been rectified and I was feeling emotional given the day that I had and the staff members attitudes. Tears started rolling down my face, so I asked for the bill, in embarrassment and disappointment, not even giving them my BLC. The member of staff proceeded to print my bill and came over with the card machine, instantly. No apology whatsoever, despite his mistakes and lack of attentiveness… but I paid, regardless, despite having not eaten or drunk anything. The manager casually walked past, avoiding the situation, so I said to her how disappointed I was. Her response was that she didn’t know what had happened so couldn’t do anything… and when I stated that clearly she did and also could see that I was in tears, further responded “We are not allowed to talk to customers who are crying” which left me in utter disbelief, so I left the restaurant. Having worked in Hospitality for 15 years, I was shocked and disgusted at her response. I have never worked in an establishment that doesn’t allow staff members to talk to women who are alone and crying. In fact, all the establishments I have worked in have exercised and reminded us of our duty of care for customers, as well as policies and procedures in place to help customers who may be vulnerable or upset… and the worst part of the whole situation was that the restaurant only had 6 customers, none of whom were dining but had still managed to get my order wrong. No acknowledgement of that, whatsoever. Not to mention the fact that when I had asked to speak to the manager, 3 of the waiters had stood around listening. I have visited Bill’s all over the UK, regularly and never experienced such disdain or shame. I hope no other vulnerable woman in London will ever have to experience what I did, that evening, especially from a fellow woman… because it made me question my faith in humanity. The icing on the cake was that my bill even included Service Charge… I’m sure their staff will have a plethora of excuses but CCTV does not lie.

My review is based on 2 visits and was a bit unsure whether to give 3 or 4 stars. Details below. Bill's is located in a vibrant area close to Borough market, and London bridge. It is a perfect place for brunch. It offers indoor and outdoor seating a nice detailed and rich decor that will keep ur eyes busy. Seating inside is comfortable consisting mainly of couches and sofa chairs with good size tables. Though I felt it is a bit crowded. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, you will be welcomed and seated promptly as you walk in. First visit, we had Bill's big brunch( which is english breakfast with a twist) and the avocado on sourdough bread. It was fresh tasty and served within a reasonable time. Staff were checking in to make sure everything was alright. Portion size for value for money is fair. Second visit, went for Brunch/Lunch we had the chicken shawarma, sweet potatoe fries, spicy labneh starter, and the garden plate. Food tasted good though the shawarma was cold I dnw if it was meant to be but I would prefer it to be warm. Vegetables and other ingredients seemed fresh. The spicy labne is nice but It had literally two small pieces of bread that was enough to finish all the Labneh dip. Another down side is that food took a lot to be served but I was mindful it was a busy Sunday and the staff said there is delay when we asked. I would say prices are still fair but the Chicken shawarma plate for 14.5 and as a lunch item could use an increase in portion and also price can be adjusted accordingly. We had a birthday reservation the second time and they treated us with a birthdya brownie eith vanilla icecream which was fudgy, tasty and not too sweet. it is on the menu and I recommend you try it. Drinks were delicious and served quick with quite affordable prices. Despite the negatives I would still visit again to try more of their menu

Came here with a friend as the one in Greenwich is really nice. I was extremely disappointed in everything at this Bill’s. Staff were very condescending & rolling their eyes whenever you’d ask for anything. We ordered burgers to be medium- our food took over an hour to come out which was then wrong, then eventually what we had ordered came 30 mins later but the meat was extremely pink. I was not able to eat it. I asked for ketchup with my meal & that didn’t come. We asked for water & that didn’t come either. After our main meal we asked about the rolling the dice (we had chosen the deal where you order a burger and you get a free peroni or free dessert) the waitress was not impressed that we had asked & went to get it. We had one both & when I asked for the dessert menu - I the waitress looked at me like I was asking her to run 5 miles. Overall, not a great place to dine. Very disappointed ☹️

I visited Bill's for just drinks along with my friend some weeks ago. However, we could not help ourselves and ordered food. The halloumi fries are to die for. However, I was even more impressed with the service we received. We were served by a lovely Greek lady named Maria. 10/10 service. The menu was explained to us in the most polite and thorough way with all consideration to my food intolerances. The food was brought out in a timely manner. Considering how busy the place was, Maria was polite enough to entertain us with some delightful conversation. Very happy with the service, will definitely be returning.

I don't usually review chain resturants but this is the best Bill's in the country! Everytime I need to go to London, I try to orchestrate a reason to eat at this Bill's. The food is always fantastic and the coffee is extra good here compared to other resturant locations. Staff are very attentive considering how busy this location can get and always provide great service. Their main menu is good but I almost exclusively come here for breakfast and brunch. It's the best place in the area for brunch, far better than tourist traps like The Breakfast Club.

This was a last minute find for us but it turned out to be very successful! I ordered the chipotle Mayo chicken burger which was absolutely lush. The size of the chicken was so big it barely fit in the bun (no complaints there) and the fries was perfectly crispy and tasted great dipped in the chipotle mayo. It was a nice warming level of heat and was good inside the burger too. My friend ordered Padron peppers and the chicken Swarmer which she said was so good she had finish even though she was full half-way through! The only down fall was the service, we often had to ask to order or for the bill rather than being offered. It would have been nice for our plates to have been cleared but nevertheless everyone was friendly and we enjoyed our lunch here. *follow my insta @londons.best.bites for more!

Hop on the cost cutting train. This was nothing like usual Bill’s experience we are accustomed to. The portions were tiny, so tiny that we thought we were served kid’s menu portions. My kid’s menu was literally the same size and amount of eggs we got. We literally had 1 egg next to a piece of old bread, compared to the 2-3 eggs and fresh, crunchy and fluffy toast slices. To paint a clearer picture, kind’s eggs and toast is 2.20 vs the adults’ exact same size portion is 7.50. The food quality has also gone down recognisably; pancakes were sponge-like, dry and tasteless. The staff was rude, unpleasant and straight up unwelcoming. Cherry on top, there was an exposed cabled right next to us, pic attached.

I always loved dining at Bill’s but this time around was disappointed. They have a good offer at the moment, when you order a main and a cocktail you get the same cocktail and dessert for free. We tried the Passion Fruit Martini and Cotton Candy cocktail (however they ran out of cotton candy) - both on a sweet side and rather weak. For mains we had chicken with goats cheese and tomato sauce and sirloin steak. The steak seemed to be a cheap cut, chicken was okay but nothing special to come back for. Overall a very average meal. Loved the dessert - brownie with salted caramel sauce. We paid £52 for 2 mains, 4 cocktails and 2 desserts which is really good value but as I said - the food and drinks weren’t anything extraordinary. However love the interior, service and overall vibe of Bill’s.

We had just visited Clink and were looking for somewhere to eat and Bill's was the first place we passed. As it was lunchtime there was a queue for inside dining but we were offered an outside table if we didn't want to wait. We took one but still waited around 15 minutes for anyone to come and take our order. Apart from that the food couldn't be faulted - I had Eggs Benedict and my wife had Eggs Royale. The poached eggs were really good and the muffins were toasted just enough.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and it was a truly exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance and decor set the tone for a delightful evening. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable, providing excellent service throughout our meal. The menu offered a diverse selection of dishes, each prepared with care and precision. The flavors were well-balanced and the presentation was impeccable. The portion sizes were generous and left us feeling satisfied. The attention to detail and the commitment to providing a memorable dining experience was evident in every aspect. I highly recommend this restaurant for a truly enjoyable dining experience.

Good portions and delicious food for an affordable rate. First tip: order the donuts and coffee. You can sub out the coffee for a pot of tea or go for some hot chocolate (which is what I did). The hot chocolate was amazing and it came with five donuts which were honestly more like beignets. Just make sure you eat them while they're warm with the dulce de leche sauce. The BBQ bourbon burger was also delicious. It came with an infuser which was a nice touch. The rosemary salted fries which came with it finished the meal off perfectly and I was more than full. The entire meal came out to around £24 which made for a great brunch.

Went here for an office dinner. Absolute waste of time- they cannot cater to large groups, no matter what they tell you. Dishes took an inordinately long time to come, and their quality was mediocre at best. Do not recommend the indian curry, it is a travesty to the original and even to the UK’s version. The desserts came so late we couldn’t enjoy them, and the drinks and cocktails were overpriced. There was decent representation on the menu for gluten free and vegan options but not sure about taste. Saving grace was that they allowed pets so we observed them grow a little while waiting for order to arrive. Would not recommend.

My ‘hippie bowl’ consisted mainly of grains and spinach - very little avocado, beetroot, onions or roasted squash. Also I had to ask for more dressing, which could have done with a bit more flavour. However the service was just fine, desserts and drinks were delicious and the restaurant was not overcrowded. Our party of 7 were very pleased with their food and drinks.

Wandered in somewhat by accident during my trip to London the last week of June. I was looking for a place to eat and my initial stop was too busy for my liking, so I walked around until I stumbled upon Bill's. The Truffled Chicken 2 Ways was awesome, and was hands down a better meal than I had the previous night which was half the portion at double the price. Restaurant was quiet and not very crowded when I arrived but had picked up by the time I was finished. I would definitely go back if I am ever in London again.

Such a cute small restaurant with a really nice atmosphere. Our waitress Abi was so incredibly welcoming and lovely and really made us comfortable. She was really fast and efficient while taking our order as well as delivering the food. She made sure to check on us and the food which was great as we don’t usually get that. The food was great and we will definitely be coming back. Abi made this such a great dining experience.

Another fabulous Bill’s!! Until recently I had never gone to a Bill’s, but they have certainly got the formula right. Saturday lunchtime, it was packed so we sat outside. Super friendly and attentive service. Drinks arrived really quickly and food took a reasonable time given how busy it was. Paying the bill via the QR code on the table was easy. Be warned 12.5% service is added but then it also defaults to an optional 5% tip which I found quite annoying. Happy to have the option to add more but surely the default should be to choose, when you have already paid!!

Very friendly staff, I had to change order due to train strikes and it was not a problem for the restaurant. Vegetarian food options for Xmas set menu are great and everything was served together even though there were 10 of us. Liked it so much I booked another xmas meal for me and my bestie. The St Albans branch should take note.

Lovely place to have absolutely well done dinner served by friendly and helpful staff. I ordered the rumpsteak and found it to be one of the best I had for years. Cooked on spot with perfect taste. I visited this branch of bills today and ordered the plant plate vegan option for breakfast - which unfortunately was average. The portions were tiny, the toast was cold - the vegan butter was frozen. Only 1 sausage included in this, the portion of toast was a half slice of bread, the oggs eggs really lacked any flavour. I think bills needs to get a vegan to taste any food before adding to the menu moving forward. The only positive was the bacon

Staff were amazing, lovely and friendly. The kids meals were very small (the chicken and chips only had 3 chunks, although this it tasted great and the meat was soft, there were only a small amount of chips), enough for a toddler but not for older kids. You could also pick a side for the kids meal. The dessert for kids was also small. Pancake was a bit firm. The linguine tasted nice and the burger was tasty.

Not a freshly prepared breakfast. Pancakes and sausages were prepared HOURS before plating. Both tasted stale. Sent the pancakes back asking for freshly prepared ones, chef apparently says nope, that's the way we serve them. Bacon similarly prepared as sausage; cooked set aside and soaked in cold grease then perhaps microwaved. Eggs were prepared fresh however. Potatoes okay. Coffee, Juice and porridge were good.

The food was very standard, especially with the vegan/vegetarian options. Service was not bad however the workers are a bit slow, we had a table near us waiting for age to collect their bill. The managers were just rude, especially the blonde woman, she looks like she hates her job and should learn to smile a bit more and not make her customers feel unwelcome. Overall, not too shabby, but wouldn't eat here again.

Lovely little location with delicious food. Staff were a bit hectic and we were often had muliple servers trying to take the same order from us but understandable when it was so busy (it was a sunday morning and just about managed to squeeze a booking in that morning). Also the staff were still really friendly and pleasant with us. Love the typical Bills decor and had a lovely time having brunch here before popping to the Tate modern for the day.

The second time, I've been here this year. The generous Salmon & King Prawn starter was fresh and full of flavour. Following on from that was the Chicken Shawarma. Busy with a bustling atmosphere. However food is very average. I cannot help but mention the manager who seemed like a dictator bossing around and speaking in quite a condescending and agressive demeanour to the staff. The employees deserve better.

Unfortunately it was the worst experience in London for us. However it seemed look like a great, ingredients were stale and sloppy. The portions were small for Bill’s brunch, golden latte hadn’t smelled good. I saw background area when I went to restroom, smell was terrible. I couldn’t even use the restroom. I give a just one star because of serving which was nice.

  • Jason Luk

The service was good, we had a long-blonde haired waitress that was very cheerful and friendly. The food was pretty great too, try the chicken dumplings as a starter. The atmosphere was very clean and nice, impressive. Although the only major downside is that the food took quite long to serve, especially since the restaurant was mostly empty at that time.

Absolutely loved Bill's. A family birthday meal. We had the burgers an then deserts. Very reasonable. A very friendly happy place. Would recommend

Quite an average place to go for food but does the job - pretty easy to get a last minute Saturday night booking though! Didn't have the ingredients for any martini which was a shame.

We enjoyed our brunch very much! Since it was raining hard and we were very tired, we were allowed to stay at the patio with heat turned on! Very nice! The big breakfast is very nice! The sausage is very tasty. All the pancakes no matter bacon and fruit were well made. The Egg Benedict is very well made. More

We were roaming around the Borough Market area, looking for something to eat and we found Bill's. Their waiter Nayeem suggested to try the classic burger and this was one of the best burgers I have ever had. Overall the environment was cool and the service of Nayeem was top notch

Came to have a birthday dinner with a group of friends. Atmosphere is very nice, food was good and the service was very friendly! Nayeem, our waiter, even was kind enough to give me a complimentary dessert with a sparkler on top and staff came to sing happy birthday. Very nice place, good experience. More

Food looks good. Great amount of servings. Drinks are big as well. The pancakes could have a bit more 'decoration' of fruit whipped cream or syrup. Toilet isn't very clean, smells. Servers are kind, and food comes quickly! Also, vegan bacon is a recommendation for with the fruit pancakes!

Quirky restaurant, which I like. Staff were really nice and efficient. Food was good apart from my chicken burger being overcooked so when asked how our food was, I told them. They did offer to replace it but I went for the free pudding instead Would recommend it though.

Nice, appealing decor but disappointing food. Poached eggs were firm - white and yolk. Pancakes were chewy rather than fluffy. Won't go again.
