Attentive to their guests: Years later, and my husband I continue to return to Bike Source for our bike maintenance, components, supplies, etc. Their level of customer service after the sale continues to impress. We are casual riders, but get the same respect and treatment as those who are very fit and live and breathe their bicycles. The staff at Bike Source's goal is to ensure you enjoy riding and get the right equipment for your type of riding and bicycle. For example, I was ready to purchase a $300+ saddle based on reviews I read, but Mark advised that because I'm not a racer, I didn't need that version. I could get the same saddle with less expensive components for the same level of comfort I was seeking. He would sell me the higher-end saddle if I really wanted it, but didn't recommend it because I would not get the full benefit for which it was designed. He explained the 30-day saddle guarantee, and off I went with more money left in my wallet. Fast forward a week or so, and I walk in with my bike and my new saddle installed. Immediately the staff noticed I did not fit it properly. Without hesitation (I think they carry allen wrenches attached to their hips) they came from behind the counter to give my bike the attention it needed without making me feel embarrassed for my error. In addition, I was very upset because I continuously scuff up my handle bar ends. They took the initiative to find me a solution for that. Having lost weight from riding, they assisted me with adjusting my auto-sag. Small things, but big deals to me. Bike Source stays busy for a reason. I'm patient in waiting my turn because I'm sure others are getting the same attention I do, whether just there to look around, ask a question, request service, or make a purchase. The bike sale: If you are looking for people who know bicycles, the product they sell, and their competition, this is the place to go. The first thing that impressed me was walking in and being asked what I was looking for in a bicycle, not how much I wanted to spend. They told me they cared about getting me onto the right cycle so I will want to enjoy riding. My husband and I had been to other bike shops and found bikes that I liked, but the geometry was all wrong. I am short and limited in flexibility. I kept trying to get on the bikes by unsuccessfully swinging my leg over the top tube instead of the back tire. Well, no one told me I could do it this way until Bike Source. Of course, learning this convinced me I needed a dropping seat post on my bike; something I didn't know existed. Mike spent considerable time with me looking at and letting me test several bikes to find the right fit and components I wanted. I found one that worked and was told they would hold it for me in case I wanted to go home and think on it before making a decision. I felt no pressure to purchase whatsoever. I ended up buying a high-end bicycle on clearance and couldn't be more pleased with the comfort and performance. The staff went around the store with my husband to outfit my bike with accessories that matched the paint job. The store was ten minutes from closing, and we were prepared to leave the bike overnight. Their service department offered to stay past closing to install my accessories and do a tune up so I could take it home that evening. I'd like to give Chris and the people in the service department a shout of praise as well. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. We went back the following day to buy shoes, helmuts, etc. They were with us to make sure we walked out with the right stuff, and if we thought the price was higher than we wanted to pay on an item, they helped us find an alternative. We walked in this store concerned we would be treated as if we didn't belong in the high-end bike community. We walked out educated, with the proper equipment, and feeling like welcome customers. We returned a few weeks later and purchased another bicycle for my husband. He was a harder sell, but got the same great personal attention I did.

Had the pleasure of redoing the work that their mechanic had initially performed for the third time today: I had purchased a new carbon frame, and top-shelf components from various sources (as LBS prices were approximately 40-60% higher - yikes guys), and determined that since this is a local Niner dealer, their mechanics would be exceptionally qualified to assemble the bike from components (for $50-75 more than any of their competitors, I may add). After receiving a call from the mechanic, explaining that he couldn't find some of the small parts I'd dropped off (and speculating that his staff had sealed the small plastic components in with the bottom bracket, when pressing it and assembling it for the first time), I did receive the bike from the shop - and all was well for approximately 2 weeks, when the crank arms unceremoniously fell apart. Back to the shop the bike went, where I was kindly reminded that the "first service was included in my assembly fee" - which apparently does not include proper initial assembly, and torquing of bolts to specification. Since then, I've had consistent issues w/ the crank disassembling itself while being ridden - until today when frustrated, I completely disassembled, and found that they had not assembled it with the proper spacers as laid out in the SRAM documentation - which they had kindly returned to me clearly unreferenced.. Given the fact that I've traditionally done my own service on my bikes - I had gone to this shop specifically so that I didn't incorrectly install the components of my $6k "once in a lifetime dream bike" - To quote the old adage - If you want it done right..

less than impressive I have a Specialized 29er SL. Took in for a tune-up. What I knew I needed: Front tire trued, rear tire replaced, cleaned and lubed. They had my bike for a week. When I got it. The bike was very clean!! A+. No air in shock "I was told they must have forgotten that" I got some air in the fork and I was on my way. When I got home I added more air to both tires they were under 30#'s. then I notice brakes squeaked (Avid Juicy hydraulic) front and back and poor stopping. so bad I had to go back. to B.S. who kept my bike another week, and told me there was too much grease on pads and they needed replaced. The tire still had a wobbled and it was explained to me that the tire has the wobble and not the rim...hahaha. not to worry about it!?1 $85 tune-up+$40 brake pads, bike was in there for 2 weeks, and my front tire still wobbles like crap. ** When my bike was cleaned the pads were coated with grease. Anyone can figure that one out. The cashier was very nice, but no one took accountability for doing a poor job of working on my bike. (not working ) I moved here recently and was hoping this would be a great place I only live a few blocks away. I'll still meet-up for rides here, but wont be bringing my road bike in for any work on it. I think that would be a dangerous move on my part. *** Update, I took my front wheelset into another shop, trued while I waited. Hmmm, I didn't know you can true a tire ; )

Awesome place to buy a bike. We had been looking for ebikes for a few weeks. We have been to every bike shop from Mount Airy to Charlotte and tried almost every make of ebikes there is. After a ton of test rides and deliberation my husband and 2 friends settled on the Specialized bike, in particular the Como 3.0. My husband has had both his knees replaced and honestly this bike manufacturer makes the only bike he can ride. The configuration of the bike places his legs in perfect alignment so that his feet fit the peddles and he doesn’t have knee pain…awesome bike!!! Finding 3 became the new challenge, which took us to Charlotte and the bikesource. From the moment we walked into the bikesource we were impressed. They have so many bikes and the staff was fantastic and so helpful. Steve was great to work with and Donald the manager was the best!! He even cut down the seat stem 4” so one of us could test ride a different size como 3.0. When it appeared that they only had 2 bikes, Donald searched his inventory and found another bike that had just been delivered and had not been placed in the inventory. They quickly assembled the bike, tested it and made our trip a success! We left with 3 bikes and 4 very happy people! My husband loves his new bike and I can’t thank the bikesource enough! He had that “little kid new bike smile” all the way home!

If you like to get spoken down to and poor customer service, shop here. I told the young BikeSource employee that I’m looking for a particular style bike in a specific size and asked if they had any in stock. The employee said he didn’t know and that I need to look online and even if the bike was listed on the Bike Source website, there’s no guarantee it would be in stock. I walked away, checked the website and returned to inquire about a bikes availability. The employee responded with an annoyed tone, “like I said before, we may not have it just because it’s on the website.” He then went inside to check and returned to tell me they didn’t have it. You would expect a retail business that has any decent level of customer service to check their inventory and provide options. I didn’t mind that the store may be out of stock as I’m completely aware of the National bike supply shortage. It’s the poor attitude and treatment of a customer whose family has purchased 4 bikes in the last couple of years from your establishment. If a customers ready, willing, and able to spending several thousand dollars on a bike, give decent service. I’ll take my business elsewhere moving forward.

One star IS too many. To be THIS disheveled you guys need not be open at this time. You've had my bike for repair for a whole month! Only for it to still not be serviced. I dropped it off and received a text the next day asking for approval to move forward with an extra service. I replied to that and heard nothing back for 2 weeks. When i come visit Im told I never responded to them. WHAT!? So I let them know go ahead with the intended service as well as the extra service. 2 weeks later I get an email with a work order stating that I never approved any services so they went ahead and did some completely other service on my bike without talking to me first because they were calling me on a phone number which i did not give them. how is this possible? This is a poor poor POOR experience. I thought I was dropping my bike off for a day or two. I just missed out on a whole month of riding because of this. To make it worse, all this service is optional. My bike was surely fair enough to ride but i wanted things tuned up anyway. This is unbelievable and unexpected because I know this place should be much better than this. I have to find a different shop after this

Good Morning! I decided to head into this bike shop today because my brother is a biker and wanted to buy me a bike for Christmas. When arriving at the shop I noticed there were plenty of workers on the floor but none greeted us at all. It took approximately 15 minutes before someone said anything. The worse part about it was the customers who were being helped were all white and as two black people, I wasn't surprised that we wouldn't receive the same service. We did receive plenty of tools and stares from the two younger men at the register and one employee in a gray jacket that was eyeballing us but not said hello or if we needed help. This was the worse experience I've had in a long time. Greeting every customer is very important. As a Security manager and my brother as an engineer, money wasn't the issue. The service is the reason why we didn't buy a bike. There was one older guy that actually stopped to say hello and talk. I suggest he get a raise and you all should learn a thing or two about Judging a book by its cover . Merry Christmas and I hope this message services you all well.

First I would like to say do not give business to this store as they inaccurately quote prices and charge more without discussion. Customer satisfaction is not their strong suit. I am very disappointed in the service I received from Bike Source. Today when purchasing a bike tube the associate told me the cost would be around $5 or $6. I proceeded to provide my card for the associate to return inside to process the transaction. Once I received my card and receipt I noticed the charge to be much higher. The charge was $9 and not discussed with me prior to transaction. Upon discussing with the associate he simple said I’m sorry this is all I can say and remember for next time (with his included eye roll). The problem here is not the additional $3 charge however it is the horrible customer service and lack to make things right. I will not support a business who does not look out for their customers. I have purchased from this location before with no problem however it seems things have changed. My note to all purchasing from this store CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!

What a great place to get a bike... I tested like 3 or 4 bikes here before deciding. Super friendly people, my main guy was Steve, but I also got to work a little with Jesse, Chris, Diab, etc. Went back a couple times to get the bike adjusted, and never had to wait more than 3 minutes. My girlfriend liked my bike so much that she decided to get a similar model on impulse, and she loves it too! There is something really nice about buying a bike new from a store, because they can make all the adjustments you want. I even bought a lock and kickstand from them, and they installed it for me for free. Funny enough, I now have this idea that bike people in general are ridiculously honest, because they never tried to upsell me on anything. I think one of my friends asked them what the difference between a Walmart bike and their bikes is, and their response was basically "it's kind of a better bike and more expensive." lol! I'm thinking, you can really market these things better! These bikes are AWESOME!!!

I would give the Bike Source 10 stars if I could. My son was on a cross-county bike trip from California to Washington DC when his frame Specialized Roubaix cracked. The closest bike shop to figure out what to do/how to handle this was the Bike Source. I had my local bike shop send them all the warranty information and Bryan at the shop made it all happen. Bryan helped get my son back on the road in less than a day so he could complete the "Journey of Hope" ride he was on. If I lived in Charlotte this would totally be my "go to" bike shop. He used his knowledge and experience (and really thought outside the box on this one) to make everything fall into place to my son back on the road. The customer service and "let's get it done" attitude is just something you don't see that much anymore. Thank you Bryan for all your hard work and problem-solving skills that allowed Sam to finish the ride. We are more appreciative than you will ever know.

I started riding bikes as an adult when I was about 50. Bike Source sold me my first bike, a 2008 Specialized Expedition Elite...a fat-tire comfort bike. About a year later, I bought a 2010 Specialied Roubaix Elite...a skinny-tire, carbon fiber road bike. I've come in with all kinds of questions and problems, and they patiently coached me through the typical issues of a new rider. I bought uber-light wheels, bibs and jerseys, gloves, helmets (a gnarly crash took its toll on one helmet), shoes, a cyclo-computer, and countless tools, nutrition products and odds and ends. I keep coming back to Bike Source because they have great selections of quality products in stock at reasonable prices, and their people have good product knowledge and are helpful and friendly. Here's the deal, if all my experiences with people I do business with were this good, I would have a much happier experiences as a customer.

  • Juan Villamizar

I've had an overall good experience with Bike Source; the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. but I do have a few gripes with Specialized. Most recently, I went in to purchase a set of plug and play fenders, which retail at $60. Online reviews for this set average 2-3 stars, with the main complaint being that the fenders were difficult to install. But I figured since I was purchasing in the store that the shop would do the install. They would, for an upcharge of $30. It is a bit silly that a set of Specialized fenders for a Specialized bike installed in a Specialized shop has a 50% upcharge. There are two scenerios: 1) the fender is plug-and-play and easy to install, in which case the $30 charge is excessive, or 2) The fender is difficult to install and warrants the charge, in which case it is not plug-and-play ( one online review said it took 3 hours and a hacksaw). So why sell it as such?

The saddest thing is my husband and I used to love this place. We purchased i first mountain bikes and accessories. The customer service was always great it was like home. But we went this Saturday April 8th and it was the worst. A lot of workers but no one greet us. I wanted to purchased I pair of bike shorts that I like but couldn’t find them, and was doing obvious signs that I need help. But was ignored. Then we went to the service area, I have a triathlon coming up I want my bike to be tuned up, and the guys inside saw me and of course was ignored. Then came a couple with a help (guess what, they were white) I am latine descienden and I don’t play this card never I don’t consider myself minority. But today I will tell my team and everyone not, read me we’ll DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE unless you are white… Sincerely someone who used to love this place.

  • Gregory Klouse

Just purchased a new 2021 Stumpjumper here, and was very impressed with the service. The service manager, Jeramiah (who I am told is new there), was awesome and worked with me to help get Specialized to honor a 10% discount on a new bike for a broken chain stay on my 2009 Stumpjumper. Service worked with me to set up my cockpit to perfection, tuned the suspension to my weight, and had pedals & tubeless stems installed before I picked it up (upon my request). I had to pay for the sealant and pedals but service was complimentary, which was very nice. Walked out ready to shred. I will likely bring my boys there to get their first bikes when they're ready, they have a good selection for the little ones in addition a crazy showroom of top of the line bikes. Everyone I interacted with was very personable and I had a great experience.

Can't get any bikes in my home city in SC during the COVID pandemic, so I contacted this shop in Charlotte. They were one of the few that had any decent available bikes? They found me a demo that was close to what I wanted reportedly in almost new condition. Steve at the bike shop was excellent! Very professional and helpful. We communicated through email. Sent me detailed pics of bike and even arranged to meet me after hours since I was travelling long distance to pick up bicycle! If that's not 5 star service, honestly I don't know what is? Now..the bike unfortunately has had some significant problems, and I have been unable to ride it at all...not their fault, just poor circumstance. I'm sure we will get it resolved. Can say enough about these guys. Hope they take care of everyone like they have me. Thanks

  • Kurt Myers

I booked a fitting with Donald (basic fitting). He spent a great deal of time listening to me and adjusting my bike based on my riding style and condition. He was very knowledgeable about the products we could use to improve the comfort and handling of my bike. We ordered a couple sets of bars and a stem. When the order came in we met again and he switched them back and forth until we found the right set at the right adjustment. My bike is 1000 times better then when I brought it to him, fits perfect. I can't say enough good things about Donald and Bike Source in general - all the staff is very courteous and helpful. I had 1500 miles on my bike when I went in for the fitting - I would highly recommend getting fitted as your fitness level (up or down) and cycling conditions change. It is well worth the money.

  • Brokers Choice

I have shopped in this store for over 20 years and have spent more than I can count here. But lately everything has changed. I understand a Covid policy but seriously...They won't answer their phones, you can't come in the store until someone unlocks it for you (there were 3 customers inside and I waited over 10 minutes to come in). You can't test ride a bike outside!!! Really??? Does riding the bike outside increase the chance of catching Covid? They won't fit you on a new bike any more. According to their signs you can't touch anything unless you plan to buy it. I think they have used the pandemic as an excuse to cut customer service to the bone because bikes are hard to get and easy to sell. This will change, and one day there will be more bikes than customers, but I for one am done shopping here.

  • fly rigady

I dont normally post reviews when I am satisfied but in this instance my experience warrants a review. Currently bikes are extremely hard to purchase specifically for my size. I went to BikeSource because I got tired of waiting for my "pre-ordered" bike to become available at another vendor online. I found an alternative that was available locally at Bikesource. At first I was cautious because I didn't know for sure if their website stock was current unlike every where else that are only taking pre-orders. They had the bike i wanted in stock the day I purchased online. Long story short bought my bike online 12am Sunday night and it was ready for me to pick up 4pm Monday afternoon. Took me a total 15mins to get my bike curbside pick up. I highly suggest shopping with Bikesource

  • Dave Meyer

I cannot say enough positive things about this bike shop! From the inventory to the quality of products to the sales staff to the bike mechanics... everything is just awesome! I got into mtn biking about 7 years ago and I bought an entry level bike from Chris R. He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about bikes and he was never pushy with trying to sell me more than I wanted, needed or could afford. He was patient and helpful. Since then I have purchased another higher end bike from them. The mechanics have always done a great job working on my bike and their services are priced fairly. This is a top-notch bike store without the top-notch "snooty/elite" attitude. These guys are great! I highly recommend going into the store. Ask for Chris R. He'll take good care of you!

  • Scott Reinstein

Great bicycle repair shop, they do really good work at a fair price! The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and very good at repairing bicycles! I highly recommend them if you need your bicycle fixed! They also sell bicycles too, but I have never bought a bicycle from them do I can't really say anything about buying a bike there other than if the sales department is as good as the repair department there the it's definitely worth looking at what they have to sell. Having been getting my bikes fixed for years at BikeSource and have never had a problem and I have always been happy with the service that they provide! Oh I almost forgot they also sell all kinds of bicycle accessories too and they are really nice quality bicycle accessories!

  • James Atria

Went into bike source to try out a few bike sizes to see how they felt and test ride a few bikes in the process. Was met by Daniel and Chris who went above and beyond to answer questions and be sure that the bikes were setup exactly how I preferred to get the best experience on the small greenway behind the shop. The customer service was exceptional and I will be demoing a bike or 2 this weekend to really narrow down the selection before I finally bite the bullet. I have shopped a few shops in the area and while most shops were relatively friendly the sales people were either pushy or didn't know anything and this was not the case with the 2 guys I spoke to at the shop and it made supporting my Local bike shop even easier.

  • Gi WS

Edit: I talked to the manager and assistant manager today after going in for a tune-up and Steven helped me shop. They recognized the below interaction was unacceptable and that employee was fired. . . . Original: Do you ever wonder why there are so few women in biking? This is why. I've gone to 3 bike shops in Charlotte since moving into town, and 2/3 have made inappropriate comments or hit on me while I was trying to get my bike fixed. It's NOT OKAY to comment on my body and growl when we're making small talk and I mention I'm latina. Can't you keep it professional?? It wouldn't hurt to hire a few women either. At least when I went there, it was all dudes. It's too bad because otherwise it seems like an amazing place.

  • Ryan Fagan

If you are looking for great selection during this bike shortage this is the place. I bought a 2022 stumpjumper evo comp in September. The bike did fail on the trail less than 2 months in. No worries mechanical issues happen all though it was disappointing. It was all warranty work. Jeramia the service manager took it upon him self to help me though the process. He also got a upgrade from specialized for me at no cost to me. He was very diligent in keeping me abreast to the status of my bike. Jeramia is very professional and helpful. I have my bike back and ready to roll. I would recommend this shop. I have dealt with many bike shops around town. None of which give the same service.

  • Katie Blackwell-Martin

Steve at bike source on park road has been amazing! So patient, knowledgeable and helpful. I haven’t shopped for a bike since I was a kid going with my dad. Did buy a bike off a neighbor as an adult. Honestly clueless as to all the options and types of bikes, also limited on what I can ride due to bad carpal tunnel yet wanting to ride with group rides as a future goal. Steve really has taken a lot of time with me to help me find just the right bike. (He actually nailed it on the first try but I contemplated a comfort bike/ cruiser and ended up choosing the hybrid he first recommended) It’s on order and I can’t wait for it to come in! Highly recommend this shop and Steve!

  • Michael O'Donnell

I recently worked with Luke and Jon on an upgrade/rebuild and these guys were AWESOME! Luke build the bike and educated me on everything. Their customer service was phenomenal, they were very informative on the available equipment, and took in to account my budget and worked with me to customize a new set-up. They provided updates, as needed, on when the parts were going to be shipped and when the bike was going to be finished. When a part was delayed in shipment they took care of me for the weekend so I did not miss a ride! I highly recommend servicing your bike with this crew, they are very professional and knowledgeable. Very lucky to have them so close to town.

  • Lou Rizkallah

Had a great "virtual" experience w/ Steve T. I spent about a month looking for a bike and Steve sent all the information on bikes they had, comparable bikes, & bikes they were getting in. When the bike I wanted was coming in, he alerted me and let me know when it would be built and ready. PLOT TWIST- I ended up dragging my feet and the bike was sold before I could reply back. I was able to get the same model at a store in Raleigh, but I would not have have decided on the bike had it not been for Steve & BikeSource. They did not get the sale this time bc of my procrastination, but they have definitely earned a customer moving forward.

  • Russ Young

Stopped at Park Road store on 10/13/20 to shop for cycling rain jacket. While being helped by an employee and trying on a jacket another employee walked up and rudely announced that I could not be trying on the jackets. Per him I would have to buy the jacket go outside the store and try it on. If it did not fit than I could come back into the store, show receipt and exchange for another jacket. I observed no signage in store to that policy. I will take my business elsewhere and will never go to that store. Over the past 25 years I have bought at least 4 bicycles, clothing, bike computers, etc. from that store!

  • Greg ory

The good: They have most products you'll need to purchase for maintaining your bike yourself The bad: Customer service is poor. Gave them my fork to send to Rockshox. I had to remind them a week later to send it in since they forgot. Brought a bike in for servicing drivetrain/replace cable. Checked on the bike a week later and they had no record of me bringing it in. They scrambled and find the bike finally. Get it back a few days later. They don't do simple walk in fixes like installing chain rings (about 5-10 minutes tops). Go to Bicycle sport if you need your bike serviced and save your time

  • Corey Markham

These guys rock, I bought a stumpjumper there one year ago and they've made it very clear that service doesn't end at the sale... I've gotten countless free labor and advice over the last year... Today I came in with a broken derailleur... Not only did they have the replacemenT in stock, but Christian clocked in when he was supposed to be off and had me fixed up in fifteen minutes with a smile on his face... Hats off Update: he did the same thing for my buddy who had an issue with the cable routing on his dropper post. Against all odds we actually made it out for a ride. Thanks Christian!

  • Robert Clark

Was able to order a bike online and picked it up today. Before I ordered I talked to Steve. Steve was great to deal with, he was very patient with me. When I picked up my bike today I again dealt with Steve, and just like on the phone, he was great. He helped me pick out accessories and never tried to sell me on the most expensive option, but in the option that was best for me. The store is really well stocked, clean, and friendly people. I'm not an experienced rider by any exaggeration, yet they treated me great and were super patient. I highly recommend this place

  • J L

You know the staff is just a good group of people! It's now 5:12 pm on Sunday and I got here 5 after the hour and they didn't hesitate taking me in to get my bike in for a 90 day service. First guy let me in - no problem, and the guys in the service department were equally willing to help when I'm sure they were ready to lock up and go home after working on a Sunday. I've been buying my bikes from them for awhile now and they are always cool and glad to help. And the fact they have one of the best overall inventories around helps too! Specialized!!!

  • James Sisk

First time using this business for repair and was not disappointed. All work done to complete satisfaction and in very reasonable time. Jesse is an experienced technician who took his time asking me lots of questions regarding some upgrades for my bike. No pressure for anything other than what I needed. He first asked about my riding preferences and where I rode before researching possible components which is a reflection of customer-oriented service. Business communicates well with their customers. Bike Source Park Road is now my go-to shop.

  • João EMANUEL Vasconcelos

Excellent experience with Donald and Mark. The store is awesome and has a great assortment of products. Don helped me fitting on my former MTB and Dan made a great work walking me through all the new bike specs and options. Mark worked hard to make sure that I was having the most of my money without overspending. Service department very reliable and fair, they only do what you need to get done. Again they are looking out for you and not trying to rip your wallet! They also sponsor local riders. I would definitely recommend this store

  • christina g

Not a fan of this shop. After spending 2 hours and two trips to purchase a bike, kids seat and a bike rack, total of $1200, instead of being helped to buy a bike and bike rack I was talked out of it and I left with nothing. Nobody would take the time to help me solve a simple problem of how to load kids bikes on any of their 10 different bike racks they sell. Then they want to nickle and dime you, $10 for kickstands, $10 for a seat adjuster? $30 to install a kids seat when you are purchasing the child seat and bike brand new?

I’ve brought my bike here for a tube change twice. I was helped right away even though I didn’t have an appointment and everyone there was welcoming and helpful. They have an option to drop off your bike and text you when it’s ready if you want to shop around. Definitely my go to place for repairs & tuneups now! The store is larger than I thought on the inside. I’ve only gone for repairs but they seem to have a ton of options for bikes, clothing, tools, and accessories. Glad to have them in the neighborhood ‍♀️

  • Chris Guella

Nice bike shop with great selection of Specialized, Jamis, and Santa Cruz. Service has always done a good job for my harder repairs - although I like to work on my bike for small things. I bought my wife a e-bike there and they helped her with a fit and then she was ready to ride - it was on sale at the time saving me some serious cash. I have met some nice people there as well with local ride knowledge. I would recommend this shop for sure now owned by Specialized so inventory is good. Stop by if in the area.

  • David K

Bought a new $700 bike..they said they would tune it up before they let it go out the door. I went outside to make a phone call for 20 seconds..I came back in and they said it "was done"..I said "are you sure"? The guy replies that it is all tuned up.. Of course I got home to 20 pounds in one tire, 28 in another one, and missed shifts with the chain coming off. I called the manager, who seemed largely unconcerned, defending his mechanics...he said "come on back in" and we will fix it..I don't think so.

  • Tommie Brock

I live in Concord now. Long ago I lived in Iron Station. Since 1999 this has been 'my shop'. I will not shop anywhere else. So many models, so many choices all at a great price. Smart and friendly salesmen! The mechanics are top level. To make it simple..BikeSource is the only shop that I will take my bikes when I need work or adjustments. Also, you want or need a bike fit..Donald and Chris are true bike fit professionals. When you leave, your bike will fit you like a glove. BikeSource is my shop!!

  • Joli Moffitt

This was my first experience with a bike shop ever and I must say I was VERY impressed!! Since this is a very different sinerio than normal with social distancing etc...they did everything very professional , fast and affordable! They said it would possibly be a week because of such a influx of customer needs but surprisingly had my bike done within 4 days! Everyone there was so nice and friendly I had a really great experience and I will definitely recommend them to anybody!

  • Andrew Taulbee

Simply fantastic! Steve and Joe are experts, as should be expected. But the real impressive parts of my trip were how well Joe dealt with my four kids running around and the unbiased, experienced advice Steve gave me regarding which bike was best for my own riding goals. I’m really thankful we stopped in on a whim there. After researching options for two years, the experience created by the staff at Bike Source finally brought us to a great purchase! Thank you Steve and Joe!

  • Mark Thornton

This place is awesome. One of the best bike selections in Charlotte, and certainly top quality gear. This is definitely my go-to place when buying a bike I know I can trust, and one which will last. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. They're professional and will give you a non-biased, honest opinion on a product. They carry a fantastic inventory and have a huge variety of accessories. Easy parking is Park Road Shopping Center lot, easy access from main roads.

  • Thomas Wilson

Great service! Great pricing and super friendly, trustworthy and helpful staff. They went above and beyond for me on some recent updating and repairs to a few of my bikes. I have 5 kids and they have been the bike supplier and service provider for all of them from their very first bikes at 4 years old all the way through their teenage years. Thanks guys and I’ll see you again when my youngest outgrows her current Specialized bike and is ready for the next one!

  • chimaera cerbera

Great experience yesterday with Mark, even though I ended up wasting his time. He built a car rack that I thought I wanted without needing a deposit, very kindly did not make me feel like an idiot when I didn’t understand it was only capable of holding two bikes, and gave me great advice on where to look for a used car rack, as I was unaware the 4 bike option for the Kuwat rack I wanted would be over $1000. Very good and kind service will shop here again.

  • Lawrence Mahool

Great selection and service. I have purchased two bikes here and several accessories have been very happy with everything. I purchased a bike and bike rack and was there at closing time (which I felt horrible about) but they still took the time to assemble the rack and install it on my Jeep for me. They stayed after hours, without a complaint just ensure that my bike was in tune and safely secured to my vehicle before I left. Awesome store and employees!

  • Shea Fadel

I had a simple issue with my bike but it was enough to where I knew I needed a professional to make sure I didn’t mess anything up. Luke in the service shop was very welcoming on the phone and advised to come right in as I mentioned previously it wasn’t a very serious service request. He actually told me more about the bike I had recently purchased and we talked bikes the whole time he helped me out. I was thoroughly please. Thanks Luke!

  • Ken Reid

I think One Star is too many to give... at least during this pandemic. Surely there is a better way to be safe and service your customers. Apparently NOBODY is allowed in the store at all. Like, why even be open?? Don't waste your time until the pandemic is over; and I will have reservations about it even then based on what I saw today. Policy is policy but there's no need to be rude to folks who are bringing you there hard earned money.

  • Casey Rosengrant

Had a great experience buying my first full suspension bike at BikeSource. All of the staff were kind, and especially Joe who went above and beyond taking his time to explain the differences in each bike until I found the one best for me. When my bike was delivered to the store, Diab was helpful with putting my pedals on and showing me all of the components to the bike. Overall, would come back here with any bike needs.

  • Chadwick Morehead

Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Was just passing through Charlotte and wanted to check out a couple bikes. They were about to close, but they didn't hesitate to pull some bikes down to let me try them out and try a few different sizes. Since they didn't have the color I was looking for, they even found one for me at another shop closer to my home. They didn't make any money off of me that day, but I'll be back.

  • Brett Griffith

Customer service was horrible. You’d think they want to sell bikes…ya know being a bike store and all. After about 15 minutes someone came up to me and just directed me toward the website. Guy was not talkative and you could tell he didn’t want to be there. Wouldn’t let me test ride anything. Coming from the TREK store down the street it was a night and day experience. Well thanks for nothing, off to purchase a Trek.

  • Teresa E. Becker

Steve Mills is just all-around great to work with; he is the guy to talk to when you're looking to buy a new bike. Steve M. is very knowledgeable and provided great service. He took the time to help me find the perfect bike I needed, showed me different types, explained the differences, pros & cons, and so on. I never felt rushed, and he researched online inventory for me as well. Steve Mills is the best!

  • Kevin Przewrocki

8 September 2020: attempted to buy a bicycle from this store. It didn't go well at all so I left without a purchase. 6 weeks later, I was going to try one more time to purchase a bike from this store. Then I walked through my mind the problems the first time and I said...."forget this store, I'll go elsewhere". If you're local, it might be a good store, but they have work to do to become a Regional store.

  • Doug Satterwhite

I generally do my own bike builds and maintenance. I was having a really tough time getting my Hayes brakes bleed properly, I had always rum Sram up to this set. I took my bike in unannounced and explained my issues with Tim, the wrench behind the counter. He placed the bike in the stand and had the work done in less than 15 minutes. He gave me the best brakes this bike ever had. Thanks, Tim!

  • Bob Thomas

Great selection of tires, accessories & clothing. The couple times I've had either wheels or my bike in for maintenance they've been really fast. Sales staff has been helpful as well. They even found me a pair of 43.5 EE wide cycling shoes which are almost impossible to find. There are other shops that are closer to my house, but it's worth the drive for me to go to Bike Source.

  • John Shipp

I’m from Salt Lake City and I’m here working for a little while. I went in to get a few things so I could ride while I’m here in Charlotte. Joe was fantastic and helped me find everything I needed and help make sure everything fit properly even help me with a few items I didn’t know I needed I had a, fantastic experience. I’ll definitely be back if I need anything else.

  • David Barrett

Went to Bike Source after a terrible experience at Performance Bicycle and it was night and day. The staff was helpful, tried to give me any recommendations they could instead of turning me away, you can tell they want to take on any work to make you a happy rider. The staff was helpful and great from the repair staff to the sales staff, only bike shop I will go to.

  • steve singer

I bought my son's bike from Bike Source when he was in Middle School. He is 24 now. I have since bought a new bike for myself as well as my granddaughter. I strongly strongly recommend you check these folks out. Shop around other bike stores. Then check out Bike Source. They are far and above their competition in customer service, knowledge, and competence

  • Jacob Hardes

I needed new steering-head bearings for a strange old tandem bike I just bought. I tried performance bicycle and the guy at the service desk spent 15 minutes slowly deciding he couldn't help me. Went to Bikesource, in and out in 5 minute with the parts I needed, the guy at the desk just looked at the old parts and handed me what I needed. $20. Excellent.

  • Chris Ratchford

Took our BOB stroller to get new tubes and tires thinking that was the problem. The tech- I think his name was Mike- said the tires were good and fixed the alignment problem. Now it's as good as new- and I only spent $5 for some brake lub. He could have easily sold me new tires, but he fixed it. Good service. I will come back when we need a new one!

  • Paul Boswell

Great customer service. I was helped by Jae V to purchase my 2021 specialized stumpjumper. He answered all my questions, adjusted the suspension, and seat height. Also suggested an S4 was the perfect fit for me. Great service will be back again in the future. Everyone was genuine and friendly in the shop. Thanks for the pedals! Bless up.

  • J D

I scheduled a bike fit with Bike Source, and am very pleased with the result. The staff are very customer service oriented, friendly, and knowledgeable. In an age where customer service always seems non-existent or lackluster, this store really knocks it out of the park. I could not be happier with my experience there. Highly recommend.

  • Terry Scroggs

I've been using Bikesource for years. I've always received fast service. The bike techs have always been able to answer my questions and fix issues whether it be a tuneup or something that seemed complicated to me. Very friendly guys too. I have and will continue to recommend BikeSource to anybody looking for a great bike shop.

  • Megan Campbell

I’ve always loved bike source. They are always super knowledgeable and it never feels sales pitchy. They will mention higher end bikes but overall they want the customer to be happy. I just purchased a road bike and was incredibly happy with the guy that helped me. I ended up with a perfect bike that I am in love with.

  • Jeramia Johnson

BikeSource Charlotte is hands down the best shop in North Carolina for handling all of your bike related needs. They meet you with a sincerity and compassion that is rare in the service industry these days. Make sure you visit BikeSource Charlotte even if it's out of your way. You won't regret it.

  • Cowboy Butler

If I would knock a star off, it would be for pricing. Yes, this is a higher end bike store, perhaps a bit 'commercial' feeling compared to other smaller specialized bike stores. This is a bigger place. Good selection, and I've experienced very good service including for their service department.

  • Laurie Prevette

Even though I didn't buy my bikes from this store, I was treated like a VIP customer. Service check in was smooth, communications. Great, turn around time. Excellent, and the service getting my bikes back on my car exceeded every expectation. This is a great store. I recommended highly.

  • Ed McDonald

I needed a new crank for my old mountain bike and I went in yesterday and received great customer service. The technician took my old crank in the back and matched it up to a new one and even was nice enough to remove the pedal from my old crank and he added some grease to it. Thanks!

  • Robert L

Excellent experince!!! I had a misunderstanding about an online closeout bike. The store manager went out of his way to help me understand year model nuances and gave me a great price on a similar model. Just all around good folks to do business with. My family and I will be back!

  • Owen Thornton (Owen R Thornton)

Great large selection of bikes with many custom parts that can be added to it. It's a good store with good service. It's a good store with nice service and worth checking out, not the best place you'll find but it's pretty well maintained and there are always tons of sales.

  • James Hong

Took my bike in for tune up. Mechanic looked it over and recommended many parts needed replacement. Since I had put >1500 miles on it since purchase there was significant wear. Shop was friendly place with knowledgeable staff. Had been before to purchase parts.

  • Heather C

Not much to review. Limited selection for browsing while waiting in person for a bike fit (that never happened) because calling and texting for an appointment is impossible. Also, it was Saturday and there were other customers spending lots of money there.

  • John Benson

Great customer service, I came in with a messed up bike and Jesse helped me out with professional help. He has great tips to keep the bike safe and tightened up. Easy guys to talk to and they understand what you mean and how to fix it. Would recommend.

  • Jeff Mc

Joe is da man! Smartest chap I know. One of the biggest things I noticed here was their willingness for them to answer my endless questions. I bet you all get the same questions 8+ hours a day and the patience you have is impressive. Thank you so much.

  • Justin Cummings

My new favorite bike shop and service center in Charlotte! Everyone went above and beyond to make sure I left the store with the items I asked about and a smile on my face. Will be returning exclusively to this store for any future needs and wants!

  • Mike

I recently bought a new Epic Evo from Bikesource Charlotte. The staff was really knowledgeable and helpful. I really appreciated Steve Talbot and his excellent customer service skills as the whole whole experience of purchasing with this company.

  • J Y

Luke just adjusted the front derailers and gave me a quick lesson on my bike. He could tell I am a novice cyclist. He didn't charge me anything and said to bring the bicycle back when it needs work. Amazing customer services! Thanks again Luke.

  • Annie Standish

Just got a brand new Specialized Como SL from these guys. They were so helpful and let me test drive the bikes a few days before I came back and got mine. Everyone was very helpful/knowledgeable/courteous. An excellent experience!

  • Matt Beck

Terrible service. The sales rep barely spoke, offered bad advice, and didn't even give us the correct name of the brand to look up. Absolutely will not be buying a bike from them. Save yourself a trip and find a different shop.

  • Jeff Safrit

Very helpful knowledgeable staff. Went in looking for new tires for my road bike to train on. They were very good at helping me find a good balance of durability and flat protection at a reasonable price. Thanks I'll be back !!

  • Hermann Brandi

Very big store with many things to look at. If you like Specialized brand, you will find many models to look at. If you are new to bicycles or veteran, you will find all the gear you need to have a great and safe ride.

  • Jon Silla

Bike Source has knowledgeable, talented and trained people working there. We bought our 2nd bike from them and they make it so easy. And they have the accessories we needed. Thank you!! So helpful!!!! And a great shop!

  • Nicholas McGowan

This shop is awesome. I was in town visiting a friend and I broke a shifter during a ride. They had the part in stock and were able to fix it on the spot. Really cool staff. I would recommend this bike shop to anyone!

  • Seth Wyatt

Needed to fix two dollie tires fixed. I wasn't sure where to go and tried BikeSource out. Very kind on the phone and the service department took care of us immediately. Strange situation but awesome help. Thanks guys!

  • Gwyneth Rampton

Bikesource is a great shop! Huge selection and helpful staff. If it's not in stock, they can generally find it. Their service techs are skilled and have always done a great job on my bike repairs/maintenance.

  • Michael Scarboro

We went in wanting two great bikes. We bought two great bikes. Can’t wait to pick them up when ready and ride. Thanks so much BikeSource Charlotte. In total we engaged 4 sales reps with two different visits.

  • Wes p

Great knowledge of their product, bought an e-bike for my wife. Got to test ride everything she wanted to. No pressure just positive info. Picked up her bike and we are having a blast riding the greenway.

  • Mark Johnson

Great experience. The folks here are very knowledgeable and helpful. They are all avid cyclists themselves so they provide real world experience suggestions. I always feel I get good value shopping here.

  • Ben Morch

Nice selection and mostly friendly people. Prices are normal to MSRP for parts and full bikes. Owning a bike is not cheap even when you do the work yourself. I like these folks though. They do good work.

  • Geoff Gummerson

I’ve had several good experiences with the fine folks at BikeSource after buying our daughter a bike for her birthday. Very friendly staff with a consistent willingness to help. Highly recommend!

  • Jason Harrington

I took my daughter in to look for a new bike. Lauren was super helpful while my daughter tried every color of the same model bike to see what she wanted. We will certainly be back.

  • Keizer Söze

Walked in and immediately helped by Mark who made me feel comfortable and helped answer all my questions. Sold me a saddle and was such a delight to work with. Will be returning

Great team and fun environment. Last few times I have visited I have been completely WOW'ed! They are care about serving their customers in the right way! Keep it up!

  • thomas osygus

Great customer service. Had problems with my Specialized M bike rims, they were able to get the manufacture to replace rims under warranty. Great job Steve Talbot.

  • Timothy Elick

Went in to replace one of the tubes in one of my bike tires and after dripping the tire off, the service was complete within 5-10 minutes! Amazingly fast service!

  • Natalie Potter

Can't say enough good things about this location. Smart folks who love and ride the bikes they sell. Very attentive and great customer service, especially Steve.

  • Amanda Alston

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Helpful, transparent, good communication and worked quickly to get my bike made. Bike was well put together and looked great!

  • Zach Brown

0 professionalism and rude employees who act as if they are better than their customers. (They aren’t). If you are shopping for an E bike give 10 cycles a try.

  • Tamara Robb

Had no knowledge of e-bikes when I first visited Bikesource and was treated with respect and patience. Ended up with a wonderful bike and couldn’t be happier!

  • Kirk Morgan

These guys are the least friendly bike store dudes I’ve ever met. Last place I would ever “source my bike” from or even at least service. Trash establishment.
