Nice and cosy little local public library. It has free wifi and you can borrow books for free if you have the Montreal Card. There are plenty of desks so it is a nice place to go do your homework. In fact there are often students from the surrounding schools there. The adult section closes later than the kid section so if you want to bring children, beware. There are even special events on weekends with storytellers. There is an art galery inside of the library and the entrance is free. There are computers that you can use but the printer is not free. If you still have a cd player at home you can borrow music cds and movies. The staff is very nice and helpful, the facilities are always clean and it is always quiet. It is not far from the Outremont metro station and close to parks if you wish to read outside on nice summer days. All levels are available by wheelchair via an elevator. You can borrow the books for 15 days and can ask for extensions, there is also a selection of special photography books and encyclopedias that you can read there but not borrow. Finally, they have a large selection of old news articles and registries about the neighborhood, so if you are writing an article or conducting research about Outremont and you are looking for obscure pieces of information, your best bet is probably this library.

Love this library it's really huge and modern design and it's easy to find empty spot with plug to charge laptop or phone while reading books, they gave lots of sections and variety of books and really calm and silent vibe, also they have playground for kids, I always go there to work on my projects

Very nice place for book lovers...quite,cozy with lot of books,magazines and dvd,blue rays ..you can spend a lot of great valuable hours in there instead of social networks..

Jolie bibliothèque, même si je la trouve assez petite. La gallerie d'art a toujours de belles expositions et ça vaut la peine de s'y arrêter à chaque visite!

One of the best libraries in town, a very quiet atmosphere, amazing architecture, natural light is everywhere..the sunshine is everywhere!!
