100% disappointed !!!!! Last night a group of about 40 of us came to your bar and spent 1000s .... We were all having a great night even though many bar staff were more interested in their egos than the wellbeing of their patrons . My first thing was the manger just threw a plastic box in the entrance to the hallway to the toilet to the ground while people were eating and drinking . It gave everybody a hell of a shock . To which he laughed . Then final drinks were called an hour early than the advertised opening hours Monday Closed Tuesday 12–1am, 5pm–1am Wednesday 5pm–1am Thursday 5pm–1am Friday 4pm–3:30am Saturday 6pm–3:30am Sunday 6pm–1am !!!!!! Everyone of us ordered , to only have the doorman try and herd us like animals towards the door , i finally said something and asked to speak to the so called manger about us all ordering final drinks and what having us RSA scull them ??? The bouncer by then became so very rude at 12am and started calling me mate . I know we arent friends as I didnt know him so i know we arent common friends to be called mate when i corrected him , he tried to then tell me to leave straight away ( none of us were causing any trouble at all ) ...... Im from Melbourne where we have culture and also dont believe one should treat patrons who have just spent 1000s in an establishment this way .... I think you owe our group a major apology for your bad behaviour . I hope this was an isolated incident and you never treat punters who spent 1000s in such a short time like that ever again . May i suggest if youre going to close earlier than advertised too , you change your hours online . I hope this gets to your owners eyes too . #disappointed #badservice #poorbehaviour #unprofessional
Never going back due to Manager/owner. Place has a great vibe with awesome and very knowledgeable bar staff, unfortunately, the owner/manager (?) completely ruined the experience for me. Walked in after a very stressful day at work, just wanting a great wine to wind down. Wasn't sure what I had wanted so asked the bar staff about the wines and they went through them, obviously with a great background knowledge in general about wine. Wine I chose was described as 'crisp' and 'summery'. The staff were great when I took it back after it tasting off, with them whole-heartedly agreeing that the wine was corked. Staff opened another bottle, but it was the same. Two staff on at the time then tasted it, saying there was something wrong with the batch, but when they approached the Manager, he advised it was meant to be that way and has a 'salty' taste. My colleague also tasted the wine and said it was definitely off. So that's three people, with experience (I know a little about wine) who thought there was an issue with it. Staff member had to go with what the manager advised so asked me whether I wanted the wine that had been poured for me or another. I said I couldn't drink that wine as it was off, so chose a different one. To my surprise, I was billed for the other glass!!! So I PAID $23 for ONE glass of wine. My advice to management - listen to your professional staff and keep your customers happy, because a) I won't come back, b) neither will any of my friends and c) you get bad reviews... you just had to give me another glass of wine & I would have been happy. Bad Management. You won't last long with that attitude, it will come back to bight you hard.
Coming into stressful exam period, Bank Street Social was the perfect place to head to. I almost missed it walking through Hindley St but the inviting nature of the doorway lured me in. The vibe of everyone was so happy but relaxed. The music was unexpected but it worked. It had a jazz vibe with a modern twist. I was so surprised by the wall of liquor, the range was huge and had alcohol from everywhere. My favourite part was the spritz on tap. Apparently they are pre made and are super popular, and I can see why. I'm not a fan of Aperol but the blood orange spritz (not pictured) was refreshing and didn't taste like a bunch of alcohol. For dinner I order the 'cauliflower tempura' and the 'haloumi fries' (not pictured). The cauliflower was so soft and nicely battered, and the pairing of Chipotle aoili gave it a spice kick. The haloumi was nice and crispy on the outside, not what I expected. Adding juice from the slice of lemon accompanied with it gave it a sour flavour that I didn't think I'd like. It was a nice place to sit and relax after a stressful day. It's definitely the type of place you give yourself a few hours to enjoy. Definitely exploring the rum range next time I go, with the freshly juiced pineapple
Not worth going during pandemic where theyre waiting the tables, wait till restrictions lift completely and you can get up to order. I invited my friends after going here the week before (which didn't go too bad) and all ordered the Watermelon mojito. Took 10 minutes to make but the waitress apologised for the wait so we let that slide. We couldn't drink it at all! Wayyyyy too much lime and mint that it was all you could taste and it was much too overwhelming (weekend prior I had the same and it was much better, you could actually taste watermelon). We left the 2/3 Full glasses aside and tried to make eye contact with our waiter for, no joke, 20 minutes to order another cocktail. I would have understood if they were flat out but it really wasn't that busy. We gave up and just left to head to another bar (I do recommend Missisipi Moon!) Kinda disappointing since I hyped it up big time to my friends.
Off of a seedy street you decend into an old service tunnel. Copper and steel tubing carrying the life of the city above crawl with purpose across the wall. Pendant lights illuminate the tunnel with soft yellow light. Next to the stairs a wood fire pizza oven burns clean but the scent immediately catches your nose. small groups sit in booths and small tables. A long bar takes up the middle third of the north wall behind which are an array of taps and on the wall behind a vast array of delicate and may probably expensive bottles reside. An obviously skilled bartenders ply their trade with flourish. Towards the back, a small balcony nook looks down upon the mass it's occupants shrouded with light. A solo guitarist plays but a DJ is preparing for the night ahead. You have arrived at Bank Street Social
Have had the best hand full of experiences at Bank Street Social, Jesse who is apart of the team and casually works behind the bar. He has been very approachable and kind, definitely a guy to keep around for customers. I have had so many friends come to the bar from interstate and Adelaide. Every time we have gone they have always said he is definitely on the ball and recommended when you want great service and know your alcohol. It’s got to the point where I could say surprise me and he would definitely know your taste off by heart I feel. Hope to see you for many years to come at Bank Street Social Jesse. Fantastic Work. Also great work from the other team members but we all have a favourite at a regular bar. Definitely found mine. Cheers.
Walking into this place my hopes were up, good vibe, good music and good selection of drinks. Sorry to say its all down hill from here... The service is absolutely atrocious and the bar staff are VERY rude. These guys are more concerned about flippin' there bar utensils than actually serving customers. For 10 minutes I watched this stuck up clown make 1 gin and tonic for a customer. Where did these people even learn to make cocktails??? Forgetting the fundamental part of being a bartender. Maybe focus less on making yourself look like a complete idiot to everyone waiting for a drink and more time serving your ACTUAL CUSTOMERS. Pull your arrogant bartenders back into line....
I used to love this place but unfortunately it’s standards have dropped. Waited 15 minutes for service at the bar and when the bartender went to serve the guys next to me, they expressed that I had been waiting longer only for the bartender to walk away and start doing dishes! They had run out of quite a few things on the menu. Bartenders can’t pour beer properly either. Manager, please train your staff. On one hand you have someone with so much ego even I wanted to slap him and the rest can’t serve basic drinks. A little wait time can be forgiven but what I experienced and witnessed last night was atrocious
Popped in here for a pre-dinner drink. The bar is beautiful, it's underground in an old bank vault, a world of its own. The manager created a cocktail at my request, lychee, elderflower, floral tones. Beautifully presented and tasted divine! He hit the mark there There were gourmet pizzas and snacks on the menu, but we had other dinner plans. Will definitely pop back in to explore their incredible bar range...they stock over 100 different gins from around the world! A must try, great for special occasions..

This place smelt incredible walking down the stairs! I was kind of disappointed I had dinner reservations already, but continued in to try my first PickleBack shot (Whiskey + house pickle brine). Despite initial stand off ish service, the bartender explained how to take the shot for a beginner and what to expect - definitely needed and appreciated. The house brine was something else - absolutely delicious, I could buy a tin of that stuff!!!! If the brine was that good, I’m sure the food would be even better! Added to my list for next trip ✈️
Bank Street Social is a very hip and trendy bar, hidden away behind a beautifully crafted timber door. You wouldn’t know it was there unless you have been told by a true local. This little bar offers a huge range of wines, craft beers, etc. They have delicious food at a good price that pairs well with their drinks. Such a great place to pop in on your way home from work. Great vibe inside. Always playing fresh tunes. Friendly staff who always willing to help you decide what to order.
The bartenders here are absolutely the BEST! So polite, always happy to help and make great drinks! Came here with my partner on a weekday night and we spilled our beer all over the place within minutes of getting the drink. They were so prompt to clean it up and gave us enough towels to wipe ourselves. They even refilled our drink! Kudos to them! And really sorry about the mess we created! Keep up the good work! Oh, and their wood-oven pizzas are really delicious as well! :D
Went in fairly early for a Saturday (8 or so) and the place is packed despite this I still managed to order a pizza that only took about 10 minutes to get to the table and bar service reasonably fast. Music is too loud if you want to talk. Spirits selection is decent though not the best atmosphere to enjoy, also a little overpriced where you can . Beer and wine are kind of pushed to the side. Another place I might visit when it's a little quieter.
Excellent venue, feels like your stepping into a completely different world when you walk down the stairs... The visual experience is definitely one of the best points... From the amazing repurposed seating and industrial styled lighting all the way to exceptional décor. The selection of spirits was mind blowing , a huge selection of spirits and some amazing local wines and beers. This is one venue that I will defiantly be returning too...
Great underground bar with a large selection of drinks. However they have no front of house staff which meant after making a reservation, we had to wait 20 minutes at the bar to find out our table. Followed by another 20 minutes waiting at the bar again to order drinks and food. The beers were great, however the pizza was horrendous. Lacked any flavour and super doughy. I wouldn’t recommend the pizza as you’ll just be disappointed.
Impressive decor, and seating. Sunday night, ambient music was not too loud enabling conversation. Unfortunately, the organic wine is only sold by the bottle at the premium price of $60. Tried to negotiate for just one glass but staff refused, which was rather disappointing, as i can only drink sulfur free wine. So get up to date Adelaide; I know Melbourne and Sydney it's readily available at reasonable prices.
The worst customer service i never ever since. That day i came with my husband to the bar after work that's why we looked tired and not really clean. We been waiting for someone come and ask but nothing happened and they gave us the wierd look. And fews of them around the bar but no one came and service. Never ever come back again. So embarrassing to hear THIS IS THE HOTTEST BAR IN ADELAIDE. You kidding :-)
Fantastic, intimate ambience with moody lighting and intricate decor. The bar is huge and a showcase of the worlds various sprits. To pair, a great tasty food selection so you don’t need to leave for nibbles, although it is right next to Zambies. Stay for the pizza though! Makes a top notch date destination or group catchup spot where you could spend hours in (get the loft if you’re lucky).
I probably went at the wrong time, saturday night at 1am. 10 cover charge always bothers me on a first time visit but it was packed (so good for their business) which for a long skinny bar was terrible. Tried to get through to get a drink and pretty much gave up and left 15 minutes later. The place looked pretty good though and would be better early or a quiet night.
Hidden gem located underground off Hindley St. Small & cool setting, every drink you can imagine! You will pay $$$ for the whiskey drinks - Whisky Sour @ $32 was ridiculous, other places near by were just as good if not better & $8 cheaper 5 stars for the actual place, 3 stars for drink pricing

By far my most favourite underground bars in Adelaide. Bank Street Social has an amazing selection of liquor, with a quirky interior and ambient lighting. Catchy music with expert staff that have some of the best service I’ve seen in Adelaide. Shout out to Amba who made our drinks with the upmost care and consideration. Will always come back here for a fun night!
I've heard lots of good things about this place. But the cocktails we got on the night I went were really bad. The bartender didn't look professional. The way she shook the drinks was so soft, and the drink didn't get mixed well. It seemed like it was her first day..

Would leave a 0 star review if I could. Told the staffs we were leaving for a smoke and would be back. Came back to tables gone and half drank drink gone. Not only that, glassy tried to clear a half drank drink that was placed back onto the table 30 seconds prior. NOT recommending this place, unless you want to pay the price of 2 drinks for 1.
Great atmosphere, DJ was playing some great music, drink selection was awesome (highly recommend the gin, pear juice and fresh ginger option) and the margarita pizza was delicious. Highly recommend this place. As a northern out-of-towner on my first day in Adelaide, I was very confused walking out of the dimly lit bar at 7:30pm to sunlight!?
Always a delight at Bank Street! We were greeted with a little bowl of nibbles upon arrival and a lovely greeter. We only popped in for a couple of cocktails, but they were delicious! Would highly recommend the Cloud 9. Fruity and fresh for a warm spring evening.

Delectable drinks Bartenders are friendly, service with a smile ✅ Prices are pretty standard, and the area is quite intimate. Behind the bar is a gorgeous wall stacked with all of the bottles on floating planks, very nice! And the price list is visible

The bar was good though, vibe, drink, music. Especially some staffs are super unprofessional. A lady who seems like trainee was so busy talking with friends and keep ignoring customers. One single cocktail took 10 minutes as she kept remembering the syrup receip and lauging with friends
Had a group of my mates here for a birthday drinks and dinner kinda session. Chris and Tyler were the goat. Absolutely awesome service and cannot stress how hard they work to make sure everyone has had a good time. Prices here needed to be raised and these boys need a bonus for sure ❤️
Walked into a great space. Walked all the way through to the bar which was quiet without even a single hello to the five of us. We sat in a cool upstairs area. No menus. One us of went back down to the bar to ask about menus and was pointed at a wall. Still not spoken to. We left.
Such a stunning place with a real speakeasy vibe. Food is great and their drinks hit just the spot. I did however, like many other reviews, find that the staff were very disinterested in their customers and took ages to approach me at the bar or take notice of my existence.
I've visited Adelaide in July for most years since 2018 and have always made a point of visiting the BSS with my friends. Quality atmosphere and service.

Great drinks, great vibes, hidden away under bank street this bar features an amazing whiskey collection, and skilled cocktail makers to utilize them. Shout outs to drew, the head bartender at the time who had the perfect suggestions for every situation.
Certain bartenders don't know what they're making. If you ask different bartenders to make the same drink it'll turn out to be different. If you are concerned about the details, this isn't the place.

There does not seem to be a contact number to reach them. We have booked a table for Saturday and wanted to confirm how long do they allow the guests to stay. However, we have not received any response to our emails either, bit disappointed.
Amazing setting, incredible drinks list and good food. Bar staff lack any sense of urgency or will to engage with the customers who walk in though. Great place to visit for a drink if you dont mind waiting for acknowledgement to even order!

Bank Street Social provides an excellent selection of spirits. Their gin selection includes many boutique distilleries from around Australia. Several recommendations from the bar staff have been excellent, the KI gin is well worth trying.

Very nice and fun place to bring friends for the night. The place is charming and has a very long list of whisky and it also has a good selection of local craft beer. There's a DJ playing live so the place can get noisy after a while.
Will never go back again . They've just announced that they will be practising medical aparthied. If you ever wondered who would've put a " whites only " sign outside their business years ago . Now you know . Absolutely disgusting ...

Cool basement bar with a menu of pizzas, fried halloumi & other snacks. Their back bar of spirits is really impressive and they have a few local craft beers on tap. The venue looks really cool and would make a good date spot
The bar staff here are really helpful and helped suggest what I might like, and I did. The pizzas and snacks are great and perfect with a beautiful drink. The atmosphere is interesting and the decor iswell thought through
The Coolest bar I've seen around Adelaide. With a huge range of spirits the bartenders make cocktails for you to order so you don't have to wait at your table. Really friendly, chill vibe. I found my new regular …
Had a great experience at this place, the vibe was fantastic and the bartender victor was exceptional. Great tasting cocktails and he understood my love for maraschino cherries. Thanks for a great night. Thanks Victor.
Bartender really knows his stuff, should have gotten a name for the review. Attentive and conversational to the perfect amount, made great suggestions and really knew his stuff, including alcahol far less common to SA.
Pizza so salty it burnt my lips. Nice, if the chefs had forgotten to add the 2 tablespoons of salt into a pizza with olives?? Nice beer, silly dress policy - got told off for wearing a hoody on a winters rainy day.

Great cocktails and the barman not only had a very interesting conversation with our group but also advised each one of us particular drinks based on our feedback of the previous rounds. Had a great time here!
Loved it here. Very relaxed vibe with a nicer clientele and less of the traditional club rats you’d see on Hindley St on a Saturday. It’s surprisingly large with good music and a cool fit out. I’ll be back!

Best venue in Adelaide! Something for everyone; excellent service, the staff have great knowledge of the extensive menu - and the $10 pizzas on Wednesdays are incredible value (not to mention delicious)...
A cool little underground bar, small selection of tap beers but they were good and cold. We ordered food and it took best part of an hour to come out for the pizza, even though the venue was fairly quiet.
A really neat little speak-easy style underground establishment with a great atmosphere. They have a massive booze selection for every budget and also offer light food options such as pizza and platters.
Returning to Adelaide after 2 years and found most of my old haunts closed it was a great surprise to find this basement haven. The drink selection is complete. Atmosphere perfect for a friends catchup.
Quiet Monday night impromtu date, perfect vibes offered. Music was sublime, staff friendly, attentive and welcoming. If you need a Google review to tell you to give this place a shot, get out more
What a fabulous meeting place for our family reunion . Perfect ambience, , amazing pizzas ,selection of drinks to suit us all and service with a smile , will recommend to everyone , thank you BSS
Great bar with beautiful interior decoration and friendly, quick staff. I also didn't mind the prices and they have plenty of intimate group seating spaces, some of which are available to book.
Best bar in Adelaide! Great New York City vibes with great music and cool staff. They do pizza's too! I love that they have a lounge area as well as an area to dance late in to the night.
Fantastic location with great staff. Despite being busy they managed to quickly make drinks and keep everything professional. Great place to go after work for a relaxing drink and nibble.
Love the atmosphere. We were seated at the bar which was still a great spot. Huge selection of Gins, especially local. And really nice cocktails. Fast service at the moment during covid.
Love the atmosphere and decor in this bar. Extensive wines and liquor list and super friendly bar staff. Highly recommend it for a date night or a social outing with a group of friends.
Impressive underground space, delicious espresso martini's and a great vibe. There was a dance floor on the Saturday night we went, with music for everyone. A lot of fun, we'll be back!
An underground bar with rustic exposed bricks on the walls and visible pipes across the ceiling. Alcoholic beverage menu is quite extensive featuring spirits you do not see every day.
One of my favourite bars in town. With one of biggest selection of Gin and Whiskey in Adelaide. You can’t go wrong with this place and oh I forgot they serve some yummy pizza as well
Really like the atmosphere here and staff are helpful and polite. Drinks are tasty but just a little expensive compared to other places for me, still recommend coming here though.
Far and away one of my favorite bars in Adelaide. Awesome humans behind the bar, top tunes and a very serious whiskey selection. Well worth a peak on a Friday or Saturday night.
Great location and fantastic vibe but a barman with poor hearing and a major attitude will end up killing this place. Short poor on Shiraz (not Chivas you Muppet) doesn't help.
Lovely place, great music and drinks! Slow food service took over an hour to receive any of our order and 1 pizza didn't come at all. When our food did come it was very nice.
Cool bar with an extensive selection of drinks. Good for meeting people for an after work drink, dates and catch ups with friends. Music pumps later and has a dance floor.
Great atmosphere, excellent variety of alcohol choices, and very knowledgeable and well trained staff. Highly recommended, and thanks to Dylan for being such a good host!!

Great atmosphere, hidden underground with dimly lit with prohibition era styling and a huge drinks selection with great cocktails. Recommended drinking!
Probably the coolest pub in Adelaide. Like transporting to a different era. Beer is good with an amazing selection of spirits. Staff are second to none
Brilliant bar with amazing selection of gins and whiskeys. Exceptional staff that obviously love what they do and provide outstanding customer service!
Jacob was a super friendly bartender and makes a mean Southside. Thanks for the recommendations! Will definitely go again next time we’re in Adelaide.
The place has gone downhill. Service is slow, expect to wait over 30mins for a drink Dirty glasses everywhere. If you complain you will be kicked out.
Great range of cocktails in a very nice underground, old fashioned atmosphere, music is a little bit repetitive and drinks are a bit on the pricey end
