I'm delighted to give 5 stars+ to this surgery. I can not speak for others, but I do feel qualified to write my views here. I have been registered with Balfour Road practice since 1970s, (50+ years!), and my entire family have received effective medical care to date. I have seen emence changes in staff and doctors in that time. I have seen many rude and aggressive visitors approaching the reception staff with problems, which has got nothing to do with NHS service but wider social services issues. (Politeness is a two-way street! ). I have always been treated with respect by everyone at this practice, notwithstanding the C-19 restrictions. All my requests were met, be it advice, consultations, or repeat prescriptions or indeed my request for face-to-face appointment. All the doctors were professional, efficient, and generous with their time and care. They were particularly good at referring me to external NHS services and following through the treatment result. All underpinned by Patient-Access App, maintaining records of medications, test results, treatment, and booking online appointments booking facilities. Texting service to keep me up-to-date and informed, with due jabs and other annual reviews is always helpful and welcomed. Thank you all for your fantastic service, Balfour Road Surgery, particularly the Reception Team and the ever-efficient Practice Manager, ...take a bow , you are all Outstanding!!.

If there was a way to give negative 5 star, I would have given that. I attended this place with an appointment for my family - two adults, 3 children. We both took time off from our work. We were refused entry as we did not have masks, but told nurse will see us. 10 minutes later, I asked why can I not get in and mask is not mandatory, I was told, its their rule. I asked how long do I have to wait on the road, I was told first 4 patients, than 2. Then the supposed practice nurse came to see me, and told me she will not see us without masks and they cannot provide any masks. I When I demanded to know on what basis she was refusing treatment, I was told that I am not even registered, and if I behave this way, even before registering, they will not register me. I demanded to see practice manager, I was first told, they will speak to him, but then, that I cannot see him. I asked for complaints procedure, I was told, there is none. I asked for details of making complaint, I was told just write by going to the website, and refused to give permission, I was told if I do not leave, they will call the police. All of this in front of my wife, children. It is disgrace of a practice, and shame on NHS that they allow this kind of individuals to operate.

Very hard to get hold of anyone; the line rings forever. If you miss a call for an appointment or anything it takes about 30 minutes for you to be connected after that. They only do not tell you exact time they will be calling failing to recognise people are at work and then when eventually they do ring they try once and then that’s it your appointment slot is over. If you a miss a call and ring back the receptionist does not know why anyone ring because they don’t have any sort of a ‘notes’ system to check this. Secondly they changed my address on the system to an address I have never lived at which has caused multiple issues and then told me I need to come in during the week with proof of addresses which I need to photocopy myself even though they made the error. Massive GDPR breach. Complained to practice manager and none of the issues are yet resolved.

Receptionist don’t speak clear good english. They also stick to they own people and treat others different. They pressure they patients with mask in entering the building over the phone which is unnecessary . The doctors are unprofessional they just on the computer most of the time, trying figure out what’s wrong you. They pass you onto a another doctor and send you back in waiting room. The doctors don’t examine you. They try to figure out what’s wrong with you, and then they put you on medication and send you home. My mum was there for over 30 years and they now have discharge her, because of her address which is still in the same borough, which don’t make any sense and she’s currently off sick. The place needs to be closed down. They have very bad service and communication skills for patients. Don’t register!

Very rude and unprofessional receptionists. How can they tell you to put a mask on when coming into the surgery when it is not compulsory now? But will not offer you any and you must bring your own. I called this morning at 7.59am to get connected for 8am and I did at 8am to be told the que ahead of me is full!!! How is that even possible. Its impossible to get through to them and when you finally do all appointments are gone. But when they need you to come in they have tons of appointments available. They pick and choose who they want to see. It's just so unprofessional and very racist in there. Do not register yourself with them they will only let you down. They need to be shut down and all staff need to undertake some sort of training on how to act around patients. NHS NEED TO SHUT THESE PEOPLE DOWN.

Worst GP Ever! My baby was born. We went to register him and told to wait 5 weeks for an appointment (just to register). 2 weeks later he needed medicine and they just said that there was nothing they could do! Had to go private and pay £100s for appointments and medicine because they wouldn't help. Since then every appointment has been an issue. They either cancel them without warning, or ring you up and tell you that you have missed an appointment that was actually 1 hour later. One of the doctors even prescribed incorrect medicine. Luckily we read the paper with the medicine where is said in bold letters "DON'T GIVE TO CHILDREN UNDER 6 MONTHS" for a 5 week old baby!!! I'm leaving and taking my whole family with me to another GP.

The worst GP ever I seen. Receptionists are so unhelpful n they need to learn professional attitude to people. I never heard need to book an appointment to register with GP and was trying to give me an appointment after one month when I visited GP on 27th June 2017, girl in reception told me can give me appointment end of July 2017 n to support her another girl came n suggested the girl to give me an appointment lately as possible. So disgusting GP. Racist girls. I believe this kind of small GP run by their own people n they disrespect people n don't care. Govt shouldn't run this gp n recruit professional people instead of running by these unprofessional people. Avoid ...go somewhere else.

DONT understand the negative reviews but it’s understandable when your happy the last thing you think about is leaving a positive review,my experience for the last 20 years has been the best especially today when I called up and no appointments were Available but I was still adviced to come inn and wait and then got seen by my favourite doctor “mrs S “ not allowed to mention names & within 5 minz aswel once again thank you so much to the receptionist who went out of her way to look after me & loads of love to my doc

Almost impossible to get an appointment without waiting on the phone for an hour. Then you never get seen. Phone call then fobed off. No compassion whatsoever, I was advised by the pharmacy to see the doctor immediately. When I went to try to get an appointment I was told with a blank face that there were no appointments available, even with the fact that my blood pressure is so high I could have a stroke at any moment. This meant absolutely nothing to the person at reception, who could hardly speak English.

Went there being in so much pain wasn’t seen until half an our after my appointment time, doctor completely ignored what I was telling her, and went on about my weight while I know she a doctor and concerned about people but she completely ignored why I booked appointment for the pain in my shoulder and arm. Saw another doctor was given pain relief and muscle rub for pulled muscle. It’s pathetic and the only good doctor that was there is now gone, the rest of them are a joke.

they are lucky to even get 1 star if i’m honest. I only did that start to write this review. where do i even start, staff are absolutely rubbish, ends the call on me, clearly frustrated with their job. Receptionist are utter shambles. Do not recommend to no one. Do not behave in such a way to customers. They are lucky i’m taking the time out of my day to write this review. Just need ti warn the public. Receptionists always talk back to you. Rubbish.

The receptionist says that they are busy on a call. The queue is always full even if you call them at 8 AM. Receptionists need to gain knowledge, they just try to avoid your call as much as they can, citing they are the busiest in the world. I would not recommend this surgery at all. I wish I could give 0 stars. They would pick up the call after an hour and say that you are calling late. I have been trying to get an appointment for days.

Please do not register here Worst GP service ever experience. You will not able to book appointment unless you call them same day between 8-9 am and you will wait until 9 am to reach the reception finally they said there is no appointment available today and you cannot book for next day we have to call them again next day . My wife was calling them for four days but no appointment was available .

Always change times of the appointments, they have no respect at all for patients. left my baby waiting on a winding condition for more than 30min, everything in this place is extremely difficult, it takes ages to get a phone appointment and more time to get a consultation in person, it took me 2 months to get an exam result. If you need a referral, forget it, it will take forever.

A great GP practice. They have treated my chronic illness over years in a professional and caring way. Never have I ever missed getting my medication because of their diligence and attention to detail. I really can't thank them enough for their care and at times going above and beyond their call of duty, as they have squeezed me in an appointment when fully booked. Thanks again.

I went there to be registered and was told i needed an apppintment. This is not stated anywhere online. Besides, the lady at the reception saw i was in so much pain but still stated i needed an appointment. That sucks!! I recommend you indicate that everyone coming to be registered needs an appointment, just so they can save their time and energy before making the trip.

the worst possible medical office. they don't help at all, they are liars, they put you off from one day to the next, very irresponsible and unfriendly, we were waiting for an answer from some very important analyzes but in vain because no one helps us! The staff at the reception is completely disappointing the absolute worst staff i’ve ever seen in 20 years, rude and unprofessional. The whole surgery should be shut down. I will make complain everywhere this has to stop and a change has to be, you should be afraid of god first of all because you’r letting people suffer and not helping you patient’s

Very disappointed with this surgery and the bank of locum doctors used! Had my first appointment of the year 2022 in December and they couldn’t even get the prescription right for my sons! Please avoid joining this practice. It is with deep regret I am writing this review as I have been a member since 1989 and now will be looking to go elsewhere.

This GP should honestly be reported and maybe if enough people did it there will be some change. First, it is basically impossible to book an appointment due to the weird booking system and honestly some of the doctors are incompetent and will only give painkillers and nothing more. I wish i could give it less than a star!

I went there for my daughter injection appointment and they cancelled and they didn't call me to inform that. I took some days off to been with her and suddenly they said they cancelled because the nurse has emergency that's why's cancelled and the reception lady was rude. Bad service ever.

They were very rude, abusive and racist. They didn’t let me go inside just because of not wearing musk which they can’t provide and which isn’t legally required anymore. I will make a formal complaint to the manager as that’s the procedure and also make a complaint to NHS about this GP.

Excellent service. I was fortunate to get appointment by Dr Mukerjee. She is the politest and kindest GP I have ever met. She has patience to listen to patient's problem and Now I only want to get appointment by her ,even if I have to wait for days. I strongly recommend her.

Ridiculous booking system! You have to call from 8am to book a same day appointment but you will never be able to call through! How ridiculous that you can’t make future appointment!? Crazy! Also, the staff are very rude and impatient! Worst experience ever!

Impossible to get appointments. They always try and fob you off as though you have no problem. In other words reception staff now think they can diagnose patients. This surgery needs to be shut down permanently. Too many issues.

Dr T Basu is incompetent. Who wants a part time doctor! Reception are incompetent too. Of course they go on the defense when challenged. They don't do what you ask and when you pull them up on it they just blank you.
