The Uber car rental scheme is run informally. Charges are aggressively leveraged without explanation, and this site has no accountability to Avis management. I have two outstanding complaints, as do several other Uber drivers in the Indianapolis area. Avis customer service continually refers drivers seeking an explanation of false penalty charges to the same branch manager and owner responsible for the mismanagement. A district manager is eventually promised by a supervisor at the Avis headquarters, but this person has not reached out to resolve or address any complaints. As an Uber driver, it can be tempting to rent a car from this program when you have few other options in order to drive. However, the financial risk is astronomical, as growing numbers of drivers are unfortunately discovering.

Well first off rude manager at downtown Indianapolis location sad!!! When customer service is what he should provide... told me there were no cars after over the phone customer service told me they did wasted trip to location had to pay Uber for ride to and from location. Sad!!! Tried again this time got the rental and returned it 40min late not knowing about the late policy cause nobody explained it tried to call but no answer to inform my tardiness got charged for another whole day called to get it removed spoke to someone who was suppose to have a supervisor call back Never received a call. Called back today for them to tell me they reverse charges but they have not been reversed... sad!!! I’m only the customer and without customers there would be no jobs... customers r people too...

We were staying downtown & needed a car for 1 night to go see family in the suburbs & run a couple errands. We didn't want to have to take a taxi to the airport & luckily this location was a block from our hotel! For a 1 day rental the price wasn't too bad, & I used a coupon for a free upgrade. I booked a standard car & they let us upgrade to a brand new Kia SUV. That may have just been the employee being extra friendly, but we appreciated it & really enjoyed the car. The only thing we didn't like is the garage is a little small & wonky, but that's expected for a downtown location. All in all it was a good experience.

The staff was very polite and professional. Very attentive to the client's needs and was very helpful in suggestions. Just wonderful through the whole process. The vehicle was very reliable and up-to-date. No stress or worries. Made my trip to pick up my child from college a dream trip. They are always so polite and professional picking up and dropping off for the rental. Service always with a smile no matter how busy. As always I would give 20 stars if I could. If you are not happy with something they will make sure to help fix it. Only have one word for this location...awesomesauce

Horrible experience, rented a car through the Avis website to be picked up at this location on Memorial Day, only to find out that they were closed even though their own company website marked them as open. Spent an hour on the phone with various useless customer service reps who all had a different story and none of whom could actually help me. Had to get a Lyft to the airport and rent from a different company. Avoid avoid avoid this company. This location is in a junked out building with no sign, so it probably sucks even if you actually get the car that you've paid for.

The staff was very rude and did nothing but complain about her job! was told that i was lucky to get a car and dont tell anyone she rented it too me when there was no reason i needed to be lucky about getting the car when everything on my end was in perfect standings! then said i would have to vacuum it out myself! i had a reservation and prepaid in full for a month. confused why I was treated this way and givin a dirty car! Ask how to locate the car and she just said that way and were spot 1 through 32. i will never ever go back

The service was FAST & CONVENIENT! When I came to pick up my car Larry had it ready to go! I was literally in & out within 10-12 mins!!! I will definitely rent from this location again! When I dropped it off it was just as easy!!! The staff at this location are helpful, nice & friendly!!! I rented using a debit card and other companies have given me a HARD TIME, but not AVIS!!! My car only had a little over 5K miles on it! I enjoyed my experience here! You have created a loyal customer in me! THANKS AVIS!

Rude and lazy staff. I'm an AVIS Preferred member with a corporate account. I was given a dirty car. There was a cleaner car directly in front of my rental, same exact model and color even but was refused for no reason. The manager said the car wasn't ready. I told him I'd wait, but he gave a look of annoyance and said he doesn't know how long he would take. How unprofessional! Will never rent from here again! Better off getting a rental from the IND Airport.

Uber / Avis fleet rental. Low price rental. Place cannot be contacted via phone if you have any questions at all you got to just go there. Second rental had issues with all the error lights coming on. Kept getting calls from loss prevention wanting car returned when all payments were correct. Then unable to work on Uber 3 days till they fixed in system. I drove up to this place 5 times during rental due to issues,problems.

The customer service at the Capital office is incredible. The Capital office had to fix my rental request from the airport because after driving all the way to the airport the airport office only takes credit cards. Would have been nice to know before driving all the way to the airport at 6:30 am. The Capital office made up for it with quality customer service. Great people who give great service. What a fantastic idea

Received a truck when I ordered a economy vehicle because all the other cars were dirty at 8a for my scheduled reservation???!!!. Was given the truck after I paid without any notice!! Very unprofessional staff. Was told I would get a discount for taking the truck but didn’t!! The truck I received was filthy on the outside with foot prints on the windshield passenger side. Horrible experience the two times I went!

Very friendly service enjoyed my experience over all will be using again. And FYI if you use the Avis downtown you can take your car leave it in the garage and they will validate your parking as long as you take the car back during business hours ... I didn't know that cause I didn't call and ask. But if I had known it would have been better for me. So now I do and will use that location again.

Never answer the phone. You have to physically go to the location to find out they are either closed or out of cars. It says on uber it is an uber location only which is not true. And they will not update there actual inventory so no one has any idea if they have cars or not. You are supposed to just keep taking a lyft or uber I guess to find out in person. Horribly ran...

Good place for a rental car, the lady that's always there will always want a 24 hr advance so that you can actually get a rental and she makes sure the customer gets what they are needing. She was very helpful and It seemed like she was doing it all. I give her 5 stars for being helpful the the people that Avis does business with, Avis has a good employee.. thanks Avis!

Excellent customer service by Larry at downtown Indpls location; friendly, expedient and going-out-of-the-way helpfulness in an emergency (personal car failure pre-family reunion weekend out of town). Also terrific salesmanship in promoting Avis corporate account app for my small biz. Will definitely rent again from this Avis location for personal & business needs.

I was in Indianapolis to pick up my daughter and granddaughter who were involved in a head on collision. Renting a car at this AVIS location, was not optimal given the parking garage was under construction and wasn't a very easy place to get in and out. Dee Dee was wonderful though, at the counter making our experience as easy and she could.

Larry and the team here at this location went above and beyond to assist my needs for a car for the day. Had a time crunch and he was very accommodating! Not to mention he helped me save some money on turn in. All around Very helpful and extremely friendly service- Thanks again Larry!! would recommend this place for your rental needs!!

I rent cars >12 times a year and this has to be the friendliest ever Avis. Car was fantastic and the best thing, the location as it's right next to all the down town hotels. Really easy to hire a car just for the day and it's cheaper to do that than Uber is you're going to the Speedway, plus then you can do some additional exploring.

There was an initial online error but the counter staff identified the mistake and corrected the booking in my favour. They then gave me a complimentary vehicle upgrade. The return process was handled with professionalism and courtesy. A very pleasurable experience - many thanks Avis staff in Indianapolis, Charleston and Savannah.

Would give 0 starts if I could. Don't even waste your time. The folks inside need to realize they are in a customer-service oriented role. If you can't accommodate a reservation, thats fine - provide an alternative solution. We took our business around the corner to Enterprise and had a 1000% better experience.

You won't find better people than Larry and Alison. I live downtown and rent cars here regularly. Alison always has a smile on her face; she brightens everyone's day. I once saw a tourist be extremely rude to Larry and he didn't even blink. Top rate service from both of them!

Not very happy after getting multiple calls, a letter, and a extra 60 charge (in which I have yet to get a refund) for a vehicle that I turned in a day before my drop off date due to the lack of awareness from the rental branch not completing the check in.

Two hours past my reservation and they still don't have a car for me. An hour and a half ago, they asked me to wait for an hour for a car. I had a reservation. No apology, business as usual... Seriously, wherever you're going, bike if you have to.

Hi there, is there after office hours key drop option available here? I am picking up my vehicle on friday night at indianapolis airport and would like to return the vehicle at downtown indianapolis on saturday night.

Good location if you live downtown. Saves a trip to the airport. Usually 1 or 2 people working so the service can be a little slow and car selections are limited. But they have always been pleasant to work with.

Larry, the owner, is extremely professional and a joy to deal. I have rented off of him several times, and will continue to do so. My car is always clean and I am in and out pretty quick. I highly recommend!

Received Mitsubishi Outlander DO NOT RENT has no pick up burns gas get 270- 290 miles a tank. Filled tank 3 times to go 890 miles......Tonyas nice always helpful and accommodating when possible.

I never have a problem when I rent from Avis, I go on line put my information in pay get better deal I'm always going to rent from Avis. I advise trying it out.

I picked up mailbu last week It was not cleaned it had a bad pungent smell and left overs and trash. I would not come back again.

This location was aweful. The vehicle was difficult to find and the parking garage a bit sketchy. I prefer other locations.

Had to wait more than 15 minutes for staff to come to counter. Car we rented was not cleaned and had dirty windows.
