We just had the most atrocious experience at this post office. The passport photo for our 4-year-old was done professionally, and meticulously in accordance to the Australian Passport Photo Standards. The staff served us was intentionally overcritical towards the photo, stating that “it’s too bright”, and tirelessly went on his way to get his manager and another colleague to back him up as if he’s the right guy, and saying discriminating things, such as “in Australia, we take photos this way”. Oh well, the professional photographer who took our daughter’s passport photo, guess what, was no other than an Australian. The photo itself was perfect, clear, chin to crown within the allowable limit, with eyes wide open, and mouth shut. We took out the guidelines and refer to each dot point, showing these unreasonable people that we have done the right thing. The 3 men were just standing there and won’t budge, nor the slightest care. They wore this nasty grin with such a pride as if they made the rules and owned the premises. It was truly disgusting I’m telling you, pure bullies who are so pathetic and must pick on the little girl who is only 4 years old! So NOT Australian to be perfectly honest. We just left and went to the GPO instead, WITH THE SAME SET OF PHOTOS. And the feedback from the professional GPO staff was, yes, you guessed it right: “these photos are perfect!” Never again we will bring any business to the Australia Post - South Melbourne Market St BC branch. As such, “buyers be aware”: if you want your passport done here, please reconsider by just going to the GPO - it will save you the humiliation and a circus show. And an answer came directed in a whining unexpected, while they faced the round eternal of the le petit so-called power. This post office, I’m just saying, what a cruel and uninviting world!

Let me preface by stating that the staff at Aus Post Market street are 5 Stars. They're kind, helpful, patient. The drivers on the other hand... I live in an apartment in Southbank. I work from home. Our buzers sound like a landline ringing. I am convinced that some* aus post delivery drivers just do not deliver and take the parcel directly to South Melbourne, which is unfair to the staff there ( your colleagues) and frustrating for us that have paid door to door delivery. They can't find parking It's nearing the end of their shift Whatever their reasons, they need to be investigated. I will no longer be accepting "we tried to deliver but you weren't home" without a photograph, time stamped, that the driver was indeed at the front of our building entering my buzzer code.

These geniuses have started locking the main doors and preventing access to advertised 24x7 parcel lockers. Doesn't help that your postmen don't even attempt delivery many times and go straight to the post office to meet their quotas. Also this branch has issues with long lines going outside the building, but staff do not care and will continue to joke around and have long chats with customers/friends or share stories about their vacation. Truely odd to witness this in person and look back at the line of disgruntled customers waiting for ages. At least have a separate line for people to drop off pre-paid parcels so they can leave your shoddy establishment asap and give you more time to chat.

2 of the regular parcel collection workers are pretty good but it seems like the delivery room is poorly organised. It often takes ages of me asking repeatedly to check again for my parcel to be found. Overall the store is just average. I wonder if there is any manager of the store because it certainly does not seem like it. I often get attempted delivery slips for parcels on days when I was at home. On Saturday I went in to post something and the store was closed despite being in the advertised opening hours. When I phoned today to find out if it was open, the phone told me only to ring if it was regarding an urgent prescription delivery so I hung up.

Not the Post office but the delivery driver. I get all my parcels delivered to my work address as I am at work and can. 95% of the time it gets delivered however on come occasions I have to collect. The excuse given to me was the driver was unable to locate the address. seriously the company has been at the address of more than 40 years. I saw the driver drive right past me while on the phone and not even attempt to stop. parking was available but he drove to the end of the street and turned. I will be putting in a formal complaint against the driver as I can describe him. Very disappointed

The staff didn't scan my express post and I was unable to track the express mail. When I revisited this post office to inquire about what happened to my express mail, the staff in a counter apparently didn't care my issue and told me to call 13 11 18 for the issue. The staff in a counter never apologized for the mistake of one of staff in the counter. I waited for about 40 minutes to ask about my express post when I called to 13 11 18. The staff in this post office is unprofessional and have a very poor sense of responsibility. It is a post office that we cannot trust and leave my mail.

The staff is friendly and pleasant. However, there are a few areas that could be improved: 1. There is a separate queue for identity services, but it is not clearly indicated until reaching the front of the line. It would be helpful to have indicators at the entrance of the post office to avoid confusion. 2. I went to the post office for a passport application with an appointment, but the appointment system seems ineffective as it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. It would be beneficial to implement a system that honors appointments, especially for identity services.

I went to pick up a parcel today and was helped by such a nice young man who I thinks name was “Jess”? A bit more rare these days to have such friendly staff who care, so props to him. I gave 5 stars, but one thing I would recommend to this post office is to actually attempt delivering the parcel before putting it at the post office “because no one was home”. I’ve been at home multiple times while my parcel was supposed to arrive and then been told it’s at the post office. Otherwise great staff!

Worst delivery service ever ! I am alaways home and i never here a buzzing or anything !!!! I even always have to stay dowstair now when he comes so i defo get my parcel !! I always have to come to pick up myparcel even when i am home ! So today i was waiting downstairs again and he never freaking showed up but in my mail its saying he tried to deliver but no access! Horrible experience. The lady said a digital copy of the passport is fine, just need a bank card to supplement it. I go and get my bank card and when I get back she says no, you need your physical id. The way the conversation was carried was also very unhelpful. Customer service care is terrible! You’re better off scheduling your deliveries for when you’re home to save the trip!

In the last 6 months, 4 parcels myself and my partner have posted from this location have magically “disappeared” and been declared “lost”. There’s obviously a lack of quality control in terms of staff who work here. Absolutely disgusting. Australia Post pick up your game! Until you fix your staff quality control, I’ll be using other postage services such as Sendle and DHL.

Terrible staff. They have 0 customer service skills and speak to customers as if though they are in the wrong. I’ve gone to the post office twice to submit my passport which admittedly is an extremely difficult process with a heavy amount of paperwork. The ladies at the counter on both occasions were extremely arrogant and unhelpful. perhaps further training is required.

I'm so sick of having to go to this post office because the delivery driver doesn't attempt to deliver my parcels. What does he do as a delivery driver if he doesn't deliver parcels?! I work from home and sit next to the intercom. But most of the time I just get the "attempted delivery no one in attendance" message. Same as others in my building, very very frustrating!

They're Aus Post which makes them terrible but this particular post shop is one of the slightly better ones. There is a separate queue for parcels which is handy and usually multiple people assisting. They also addressed some of my problems with receiving parcels and recommended I get them sent straight to the post shop which is close to work. I've had no issues since.

The staff who work here might as well be paid by the hour - the slowest staff I’ve ever witnessed. A line off 11 people going out the staff and the staff don’t seem to have a care in the world. Horrible they lose your parcels! I randomly used this post office to send a registered post item and it was never received! Tracking showed it ever left this post office. Australia post didn't care even after an investigation was done. Use DHL or a courier that isn't owned by Australia post. Even more troubling is they don't care.

I've never actually had a parcel delivered to my apartment. The delivery drivers don't even bother ringing the intercom, they just leave a card and then I have to go stand in line for 15-20 minutes to collect it here. I asked the counter staff member and he said 'sorry, the drivers for your area are slack' Aus post is a joke.

I'm giving this post office a one star not as a way to complain but in hopes to deter others from coming and wasting their time. It's not the staff members fault but in all honesty this post office is too small to efficiently handle the demand here in south melbourne. I strongly recommend you to go to another store front.

Ive been home during all of covid. Postman still just takes my parcels here and leaves the note without knocking on the door. There is a post-office on Park street literally 1 street away from my house but they take it here ? If its not already inconvenient enough, the service at the post office is below average.

Unreliable. Misplaced my wife's passport and sent it to NSW (Sydney) instead. There was no update or any sort of notification. We had to chase it down ourselves. Do NOT use them for Visa/Passport purposes. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the staff has been helpful whenever I have visited.

Long lines for parcel pick-up. Not too friendly. The shop itself doesn't specifically provide the answer to queries. Distant. Delivery service itself is bad, often times no slip left, just have to go to the post office after checking the app/tracking service.

I use parcel collect for all my parcels. After a staff member suggested it. I get email and SMS when they are ready to pick up. I also get smiles and really helpful service from the staff when I collect my parcel. They are great.
