It's taken me a while to write this, however I feel its necessary to alert the community on how I was treated one night while attending this pharmacy at around 2am for emergency medicine. This was the first time I had been to this pharmacy and I only attended it because I had been away and was unable to receive medical care for a severe sickness. And the only time I was able to speak to a doctor was an after hours doctor at around 1am. This pharmacy is open 24 hours and instead of waiting for my usual pharmacy to open at 8am I thought I may as well get the medication now and had the script sent to this pharmacy. Once arriving at the pharmacy I was let in by the pleasant security guard and then when I approached the counter where the female staff member was this is when I couldn't believe how I was treated. I asked politely if she had received my script and I named the medication. She straight away was patronising and condescending by questioning the medication and trying to make me look dumb and that I don't need it. It was clear she had judged me because of my appearance and the fact that I was wearing track pants and a hooded jumper. She argued with me and said that there's nothing here rolling her eyes.This was absolutely appalling behaviour and no one should be treated this way especially in the public facing health industry. I left the store to call the doctor and to confirm the script had been sent to this pharmacy. I returned to the counter to let her know the doctor has confirmed the script has been sent and I can put the doctor on the phone if you don't believe me. Amazingly she all of a sudden found the script and then read the script that everything I had been saying was true. This is when her tone changed and she tried to suck up to me and apologise. I'm a very polite person and I was also very sick, so naturally I said it's ok but I'll never forget how I was treated. To be treated with no respect at all was just appalling and this woman needs to change industries that does not involve interacting with people. If you are judging people and treating people differently then please leave this industry for the sake of the customers. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a pharmacy and to make matters worse the price for the medications was triple that of my usual pharmacy. I should have just waited until 8am for my usual pharmacy to open to receive proper service and care.

Has been our local pharmacy for many years until our most recent trip. My wife and I came in to pick up a medication after calling and advising that we had a pregnancy emergency. After arriving at the pharmacy and waiting for the patient in front us to finish the conversation with the pharmacist it was clear that the 2 were arguing about the colour of the packaging and the conversation could wait. My wife was in agony and it was very clear to see that she was distressed. So we politely asked the pharmacist if she should see us as it was emergency. She told us to wait our turn, so we went to the counter and advised the pharmacy assistance at the counter its an emergency she also told us to wait our turn. I appreciate that there is a line and I would never want to be out ahead of others but this was clearly an emergency. Anyway after waiting for what seemed like a eternity we received our meds and went to the hospital. I raised the issue with a lady that looked like she was in management a few days after the incident. She said she would look into it, till this day have not heard anything back. As a pharmacist who works in the industry, this kind of service I will never provide to my patients and it was disappointing to see and experience that myself. Your lack of empathy and clinical awareness is a disgrace to the industry. If not for the methadone program you run, I doubt you'd survive with this level of care.

This place is Literally THE BEST pharmacy I have Ever, Ever EVER been to! Seriously! Both Pharmacotherapy wise AND in general. The staff are wonderful, compassionate, genuinely caring people who are really interested in your best interests and health. They treat you with respect ar ALL times! They serve whoever comes in first and don't make you wait in a line like other pharmacies do. And Jane and Dimitra are just such WONDERFUL people! They Truly genuinely care about you and your health and wellbwing. I honestly couldn't have gotten this far without them. I am indebted to them and their wonderful treatment and service to me throughout the years. They are suck wonderful people here at this place and I would recommend then to everyone. Especially those on the program or looking to get onto the program. They will treat you with the decency and respect that you deserve. They will treat you like a human being. If I xouls give zero stars, I would. After being at the children's hospital for 7 hours, I came to ascot vale to get medication for my unwell child. I waited over an HOUR for the script, being told it won't be much longer when I approached the front counter. I went up again and asked where my script is and was told what script?? There's no script under that name?? How do you lose a script!! And the medication was out of stock so had to be made from scratch. I spent two hours at a pharmacy with an unwell child after a lengthy wait at the children's. After all this, they had the decency to still charge me. I have my own businesses and after a blunder like that, I would definitely be giving the customer their product for nothing. Oh not to mention the medicine was $39.00 at ascot vale pharmacy and $6.30 everywhere else. I will never ever return to this pharmacy and I will be spreading the word to avoid like the plague.

Just now: 7 year old niece is sleeping over & tells me at midnight that she has a toothache & can't sleep. Thank god this pharmacy is open 24/7. Brightly lit, modern & clean. Security guard buzzed me in, and greeted me nicely. Pharmacy assistant came over, was a lovely lady who was super helpful about whether to get nurofen or panadol for kids and what the difference is bw them, and made sure I knew to dose for child's weight. I decided to get both & try one and if that didn't work & we had tears then later try the other. She then told me that if pain was severe, both can be taken together, in the same way mersynofen or maxgesic are a combo sold for adults. (I use maxgesic so am familiar with this concept.) I gave my niece the minimum dose of panadol, according to her weight, and a half dose of nurofen for the inflammation. She's now soundly asleep. Thank goodness. Definitely 5 stars.

Shocking prices on one script (double other pharmacies, triple online) and refused to fill another script because they argued a cursive o was an a, leaving me without my medication when they had no doubt which medication it was. Very unimpressed. Edit: Pharmacy saw this post and refunded the $84 overcharge, so I'm upgrading them from 1 star to 2. Still very unimpressed with refusal to dispense my script for insomnia meds the night before I went overseas for 8 weeks. Couldn't fill the script at the airport either because Ascot Vale's pharmacist had decided to draw marks on the script where she was arguing cursive Os were As. No doubt about the name of the medication, just about my doctor's handwriting. So the airport pharmacy refused to fill a modified script and my doctor's office wasn't open yet to verify. Worst holiday of my life. Thanks for all your care.

The most helpful and caring pharmacy I have ever been to. I can’t recommend more highly. I have some complex medicinal needs and the pharmacist even makes arrangements for me to get what I need from other pharmacies when I travel for work. They are open 24hrs, they deliver locally and there’s is even an in-house nurse at certain times who can help with small procedures, dressing changes and the like. I can in one night with a bag of frozen peas on a cooking burn to buy burn cream and the nurse put on a burn dressing, cream and a bandage free of charge and followed up 3 days later. The co-owner/pharmacist even sends me emails recommendations on new treatment options for an issue I’ve discussed with her before which shows genuine caring and understanding Hope this helps anyone who is looking for a pharmacy that’s more than lipstick, perfume and sales gimmicks.

The night/early morning Pharmacist Josie, provided outstanding service to provide me with an important and urgent medication. Without this medication I would've had to cancel prior booked specialised taxi, receiving a biopsy cancer results, high definition MRI scan of serious trauma/injury to my head, after lost balance and fell on a concrete floor, resulting in large loss of blood and passed out.in it. As I was having problems getting the medication at about 4:00 am, Josie demonstrated compassionate initiative and made all the arrangements to have the medication delivered to me in a prompt timely manner. A rare display of excellent customer service. Josie you are a champion and deserve praised recognition from your senior, namely by a pay rise or bonus. Please forward this to your senior. There was a terrible employee who gave me wrong information causing me to be worried for no reason. It's not hard to know what's in the general area around your workplace. I come into this building thinking it's the place I'm looking for, and when I ask for what I need, she just says no we don't do that, and leaves me to figure it out myself, when the correct answer she was supposed to give was "you're close but it's actually just around the corner." Wrong information may not seem like a big deal to some, but when someone has a mental condition it can affect a lot. Someone at a pharmacy should be more mindful of that kind of thing. And when you see the customer walk away crying you're supposed to actually do something, like maybe help them figure out where the thing they were looking for is?

Charged 3x more for a generic prescription after making me wait for 20 minutes I was made to wait 20 minutes to get my prescription and when I went to the counter to receive it, the drug was marked up almost 3X its market value ($6 at Chemist Warehouse vs. 17.50 at Ascot Vale Pharmacy). When I questioned them about the absurd markup, they said they can’t compete with Chemist Warehouse because the latter underpay their staff. The sad fact is that the underpaid staff at CW provides a better customer service than their aptly paid counterparts at AVP. Furthermore, the person at the counter created a massive bottleneck in the dispensing process as they doubled as a salesperson offering recommendations to people who walked in. Save your money and time, shop elsewhere.

Amazing experience with such friendly and engaging staff. Special thanks to Luke the Pharmacist who provided extremely important information about eczema from multiple treatment plan option to suitable products to use with aggressive eczema. I have been to dermatologists and GP doctors who did not go into as much detail as he did. I literally had a class in eczema and how the skin functions which I am truly grateful for. Following his advice and treatment plan I have noticed a huge improvement. In 23 years this has been the most helpful experience I've had in terms of eczema treatments. Special thanks to Luke and friendly staff again.

I have been a customer of this pharmacy for 4 years, I have nothing but great things to say about the staff here, especially Dimitria & Mervae (I'm sorry I don't know how to spell the 2nd young ladies name) but I never ever feel judged by these women, They truly care about their customers, If their was an award for pharmacists I'd nominate both of them!! I've said this a few times over the years but I truly mean it. It's great to have a 24 hour pharmacist in this area, instead of having to hike across town if something come up! So yes if I could select 10 stars I would! I'll never go anywhere else, no matter where I move!

Great customer service provided by each staff member, they are extremely kind and patient. I did not leave with any unanswered questions or without any vital information I required thanks to the night pharmacist Jenny, she was helpful and genuinely a lovely person who was willing to help me with all of my queries. Dimitra, Jane, Helen & Staff are exceptional in their field. They can recommend medications for any illness that a Dr may not even be aware of. They recommended a medication for me for my asthma then I followed thru with the advice given to me & my Dr then gave me the prescription for the medication. My asthma has improved dramatically. They are warm, sincere, caring, polite & kind Pharmaceutical Specialists. The Staff are also exceptional in their field. They are all such lovely people!! It's a pleasure to go there. I highly recommend this Pharmacy & especially the Pharmacists & Staff.

Last night at 2am I urgently needed to fill in a medication script, prescribed by my doctor because I had run out. I really need to take this medication consistently due to elipsey and seizures, so it was really important that get the script filled in asap. I cabbed it to the pharmacy and the pharmacist on duty at the time was very professional, friendly and answered all of my concerns in a professional manner. Also, this is one of the few chemists the in the whole of Melbourne that are open 27/7 - 7 days a week.

Amazing service!! My boyfriend was feeling extremely unwell and we called the pharmacy, they explained what to get and how to take it, both people I talked to on the phone were really nice and helpful. Then we got everything delivered to our home in a matter of 15 mins, and then again explained gentleman how to take the medicines by a really nice gentleman .Extremely happy with their services and assistance. Not many pharmacies are 24 hrs nor do they do deliveries, thiis guys are just amazing !!

I went to this pharmacy at something like 11pm as a last resort after a Chemist Warehouse wouldn't help me with a medication shortage situation. I pretty much burst into tears at the counter and the pharmacist and staff were lovely people who were able to help me in the short term and rang my doctor to fix up the shortage situation for the longer term. I never would have expected such great service at such a late hour. I've decided to get my prescriptions filled here wherever possible now.

This is not a model of a primary health care, unit for a very vulnerable section of the community. I was banned six years ago, because i took exception to a very rude, male pharmacist. Who ultimately was sacked as a result, yet i was banned 6 years ago, to save face for their employment issues, just the victim, again, due to labels they apply. After, having spent 4 years as a loyal paying customer. Yet the moment i had a medical emergency requiring a simple script. The computer, said no.

Shay at Ascot Vale Pharmacy is absolutely wonderful! Her customer service skills are exceptional, and she is always so helpful and lovely. I genuinely enjoy my visits to the pharmacy because of her positive attitude and willingness to assist. Shay's presence truly makes a difference, and I wish more people in customer service were as fantastic as her. Being able to access the after hours Nurse at the Ascot Vale Pharmacy for non emergency medical issues benefits everyone.. and alleviates pressure on the hospital system. Professional care and attention at the initial consultation, a follow up visit and a tetanus injection were provided by the Nurses on duty at the Pharmacy.. all at no cost. Thanks so much to Nurses Tash and Russell .. An excellent investment by the Goverment into community health.

So helpful and accommodating. All other chemists were closed as it was late on a Friday night (after 10pm) and the staff were great. If I was willing to wait for a couple of hours till the shift finished, they even offered to deliver to me personally. I couldn’t wait so they guided me to the cheapest delivery option and directed me on how to do it. I am so appreciative. Congratulations on being such a wonderful and caring pharmacy. Thank you.

Make sure Wendy vettes your prescription reminder, even if you had a qualified pharmacist put it in the system. She may just veto it because, despite satisfying government mandated rules, she just wants to interfere, regardless of what you can manage by way of attending to fill, at a time when she's fast asleep. Because 24 hours, out of suburb, at the time YOU are in Melbourne around your work commitments is not a thing she was there to care.

Before today I would have given 5 Stars, but I wish I could give 0 stars. 2 unprofessional pharmacists today. So rude and degrading and refused to listen to me. All they did is cause me more problems with my medication. Most definitely will not be returning here and will be filing an official complaint. It's too bad that the action of 2 rude and unprofessional pharmacists undo all the work of all the other lovely staff

When email servers are not working properly, Uber 2 step verification is impossible to complete, Uber help contact 6-12 hour estimate before reply, I rang to inform them of the delay issues. Staff is usually nice, security always on the mobile phone, and Indian lady behind the desk has no customer service skills what so ever arrogant and disgustingly RUDE I just walked out and didn't buy a thing just because of that hardly a "lady"! 4stars are for everyone else if you eliminate the bum guard that doesn't put his phone down to greet people and the rude Indian lady you guys will have no other flaws.

Best pharmacy around! Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, non-judgemental and understanding staff, good prices and a very clean, neat, inviting and well lit store. They are now open 24 hours a day, and have a nurse on site, available between 6pm-10pm every night. I've been going to this pharmacy for many years now, and I would never dream of going anywhere else for my medications. Highly recommend!!

Although I live one suburb further down, this place has been my go to pharmacy. The staff was really helpful, they really take time talking to their customer’s problems and needs. I once had an emergency situation at home of a minor burn injury, and the lady at the counter walked me through heaps of dressing alternatives while explaining each of their pros and cons.

Always knowledgeable and great service from helpful counter staff, no matter if it's 3pm or 3am. They don't speed you through and check to ensure all the boxes are ticked and are informative and answers all questions. They also have a delivery service if you are unable to attend in person. They always go that extra step to help and inform and educate.

Please!! And I mean please! If you are not dying then wait until a normal chemist is open they are not only rude and make you wait forever,But clearly can be 24hrs with the prices they charge it's clearly a tactic why they make you wait so then once they tell you the price you just pay to get out of there,They should be ashamed obviously they are not

This is a great pharmacy with very skilled staff. Every time I visit I am assisted to find the right product to help me get well. It is open 24 hours and no matter what time I go in the staff are very helpful. My Dr faxed through my prescription to them for me to collect. They said it never arrived. Got my Dr to fax again. Still didn’t arrive. Got them to email. Still didn’t arrive. All this could arguably be put down to technical errors, but their extreme lack of customer service, even when there was 4 of them and only me in there is inexcusable.

I've been going here for years and they are always helpful and good at their jobs. They treat customers with respect and care about your health. If there is ever a problem, they go out of their way to try to help. Also, it's open 24 hours which is very convenient and it means they can help you when no one else is available.

Two stars because they are open 24/7 but sky high prices. Charging more than double for an item I can get at a pharmacy is rip off and unethical in my view. I see someone else said they were subject to the sky high prices as well. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The premium should never be double, let alone a lot more

Always helpful and happy to go out of their way to obtain medications that are in short supply or have to be sourced from overseas suppliers. Most chemists just look up the medication and fob you off saying "it's unavailable or we've got it on backorder" or similar lazy incompetent bullsh*t

Echoing other positive reviews, at a pretty vulnerable time the 2 staff who were working the night shift post 1am showed the utmost care and genuine compassion. Customer service at its finest. The pharmacy itself was well set out with a variety of products. Well worth the trip.

Pharmacists in this pharmacy are sweet and magnificent. They even have compounding services, weight loss services, Diabetes education , Flu vaccination , head lice services. You can go there at any time and expect to find the best services EVER. THEY ARE SO AWESOME.

Fantastic service! I'd like to extend a personal thanks to Dimitra for going above and beyond in trying to source and arrange medication for me, and also checking in to see how I was going. This is the mark of someone who truly cares and I am thoroughly impressed.

Charged me $70 for a compounding prescription. I took the same prescription to a different compounding pharmacy the third time round and it cost $33.50. That's literally a 209% price gouge from Ascot Vale Pharmacy. Avoid unless you like being ripped off.

Fantastic to have a 24 pharmacy with knowledgeable and friendly staff even at 3am. Jenny was amazingly helpful, pointing me in the direction of several alternative treatments for my ailment while engaging in relevant conversation to help me feel at ease.

Jenny was amazing! I had a rash which was spreading quickly and she helped by recommending medication and many other handy tips, like taking a cold shower. She even gave me 24/7 doctors numbers to call if it didn't get better - and this was all at 2am!

Booster vaccine administered efficiently and on time. The staff were polite to everyone who came in, they had no RAT tests but that was unsurprising. I will get all my pharmacy supplies their now.
