  • "Surrey Park, Box Hill, Victoria, Australia"

"We know it as Surrey Dive"

"To be fair, someone looking at this park from a sportsperson's perspective may see it differently, and no doubt my view was coloured by the fact that the pathway around the small lake was cordoned off when I visited, but this park struck me as a place to which I wouldn't bother returning"

"Nice place to hang out with a beautiful scenery, I recomend coming on the evening around 4pm on summer and during late lunch kn winter , spring and autumn would be the best time to be here , nice place to have a snack and see alot of ducks , baby ducks and also big ones , if your luck you'll see a turtle and fish , the flowers are amazing and nice to see"

"A small, bustling place behind Aqualink — there’s BBQs, a playground and a lake (once a clay pit)"

Surrey Park, Box Hill, Victoria, Australia. Its a wonderful park, situated in Box Hill Area, Melbourne (Vic), Australia. Whenever, I am in Australia to visit my son and his family, I often visit this park with my 2 grand-children, who too like this place very much. Its a huge park, with a big swimming pool, vast play area, cycle and walking tracks. An artificial small lake is also here, which gives a natural look. Lot of ducks are here. A boating club is also functioning here, where small toy boats are played with the permission of boat club . A volley-wall court, small cricket and tennis play grounds are available. Anybody can come here, there is no entry ticket. From Box-Hill Central metro station its hardly 15-20 minutes walk. In fact, its a wonderful place to play, relax, for all age group people. There are lot of playing activities for small children. People also come here for picnics and small social celebrations. For the comfort of picnic parties, there is arrangement for cooking gas and hot-plate etc. without any cost. Drinking water and an ultra-modern toilet is also available. Really a very soothing and comfortable park with all facilities.

We know it as Surrey Dive. It's a wonderful resource. There is a track around the lake though the trees with great views across the water to the old Brickworks. Used by walkers and joggers. The lake was once part of its quarry. The are barbeques, new toilets, shelters and two playgrounds. The ducks sometimes have competition from radio controlled boats and yachts.
Playground
The are 2 playgrounds. One for younger kids and one with a spiral slide for bigger kids. They're a bit dated but still great.
Restrooms
Brand new individual metal units with LED lights and occupied indicators etc. Fine for disabled access.
Dog-friendliness
OK for dogs on leash but not in the playground
Picnic area
Excellent shelter with tables close to barbecues, toilets and the lake.

To be fair, someone looking at this park from a sportsperson's perspective may see it differently, and no doubt my view was coloured by the fact that the pathway around the small lake was cordoned off when I visited, but this park struck me as a place to which I wouldn't bother returning. In disrepair, the dominating feature seemed to be the very large, ugly fence that appeared to have been in place for quite a while. The space behind that fence is considerable and, while the fence served the purpose of preventing access to a crumbling (albeit interesting) building, it struck me as a waste of what could be a lovely, green space.

A small, bustling place behind Aqualink — there’s BBQs, a playground and a lake (once a clay pit). Easy to find parking, even on a weekend, and a nice place for a family outing, though the walk around it is relatively short. Many places to sit, seeing quite a few people settled down just to watch the ducks. Home of the Surrey Park Model Boat Club.

Recommend for all ages. Wed and Sun AM model boat enthusiasts gather with different types of meticulously hand built boats. They are remote controlled including yachts and submarines which dive and resurface. The small lake and surrounds is beautifully landscaped with childrens playground and toilet facilities.

Lake, playground and Aquatic Centre (Pools, Sauna, Cold Plunge, Gym, Diving Boards) Tennis Courts, Basketball Court indoors and outside, Cricket and AFL plus Baseball pitch. If your Sports mad or want to be active - everything needed within 500m of this spot

Excellent car parks and nice swimming pool Spa is average , more pressure needed to the pipes, but Sauna is great. Toilets are bit shabby, clogging toilets hence clean your bowl at home and visit this place. Hence three star.
