Worst place to bury anyone!!!!I I have family here...my mother is always close to tears when i bring her to visit her mother (it wasn't that bad in 2002.. but notice it needed some watering back then)and tells us never to bury her here!!!' They put big signs out now that says due to the start of the drought they're conserving water!!!! Guess they been conserving since 2003.. not only that.we finally drove through the entire cemetery.....some of the headstones have been desecrated... knocked over!!! Trashed thrown over near the back end...You have precious family members, BABIES...civil war soliders buried there... without the American flags..just the poles are there.. someone once tried to put a tiny flag...tattered and torn but.. it's gone now too.. They spray painted on beautiful crypts...They way they painted over the crypts... it's sad. Some of these souls have been here since the 1700"s.. there's pot holes, cracked streets...Even the old trees are hanging in awful ways and damaged...Yes if you look hard enough, you can see... it once use to be such a beautiful place but now?!!!!! We even tried bringing in water hoses to help water our loved ones area, sweeping and picking up dead weeds..that makes LOUD crunching noises as e try not to cry. Dear Lord!!! Only the front entrance is kept up... but look past it... and see... all the others.. left behind...their final resting places.... even the weeds died.. .. and hard to walk on.. Rosedale needs an overhaul ....Mayor Garcetti, pleaseeeeeee help!!!!!

Rip ERIC DOLPHY Eric Allan Dolphy, Jr. (June 20, 1928 – June 29, 1964) was an American jazz alto saxophonist, bass clarinetist and flautist. On a few occasions, he also played the clarinet and piccolo. Dolphy was one of several multi-instrumentalists to gain prominence around the time that he was active. His use of the bass clarinet helped to establish the instrument within jazz. Dolphy extended the vocabulary and boundaries of the alto saxophone, and was among the earliest significant jazz flute soloists. His improvisational style was characterized by the use of wide intervals, in addition to using an array of extended techniques to emulate the sounds of human voices and animals. Although Dolphy's work is sometimes classified as free jazz, his compositions and solos were often rooted in conventional (if highly abstracted) tonal bebop harmony and melodic lines that suggest the influences of modern classical composers such as Béla Bartók and Igor Stravinsky...

Historic Los Angeles cemetery. Although Hattie McDaniel is here, the entirety of the graveyard is even more interesting. First, there are incredible family crypts, pyramids, and statuary here. It's fascinating to walk through and see the various sections that document Los Angeles' history. Rosedale was also the first cemetery open to all races and religions in Los Angeles. While it is true that the grass is brown in many places, I don't feel like it detracts from the place. There is a beauty and peacefulness here. Lots of old trees and consequently, some urban wildlife. I regularly see a pair of red tailed hawks that live here. While visiting hours are limited, it's worth taking some time to explore this beautiful bit of Los Angeles history.

If it were possible to give this place less than a one star view, my fingers wouldn’t move fast enough. If you’re reading this and your looking for a place to care for your loved ones remains, PLEASE do your self a favor and look elsewhere. This place is disorganized, unprofessional, and lacks necessary compassion. From the lack of returned messages, it seems like the employees don’t even want to be there, so why leave your loved one in their care? Don’t add to your grief by giving this place a chance.

This cemetery is run by dishonest crooks. They claim they have no record of my relative's contract. When brought proof of payment, they claim the contract is invalid even though it has their name and shows the arrangements were paid for. These crooks have given us four different ever increasing quotes. Their behavior is fraudulent and despicable. As if losing a loved one isn't enough, they increase the trauma and distress by being deceitful and greedy.

my mom's service was late last month, and my dad and i are still waiting for cemetery rep to send us information about grave-markers (apparently at least two emails requesting said info weren't sufficient). this must be karmic payback for those times i didn't return phone calls; fair enough, but Dad doesn't deserve this treatment. i will rerate ARC after receiving material requested.

Cemetery has been closed for about two weeks, phone number to get information is disconnected. Does anyone have any updates as to when they might reopen or why they have closed. This is very upsetting as we are unable to grief the loss of our loved ones. No sign with any type of information is posted outside and everything inside is not looking so good.

Very disappointing! And Upsetting. They are dealing with grieving families. The office its alway close, They never answer your calls or return your messages. Everytime you call , they always tell you someone will call you back , weeks pass by and nothing. If we would of known. We would of use a different Cementary. 2 stars just because it looks clean

This is a beautiful cemetery with exclusive sites all around. However it seems my peace is always disrupted by the rude security guard that stalks and badgers me when I am having a special quiet moment with my departed loved ones. I suspect its a matter of educating employees on the value of remembering loved ones in peace and quiet.

My brother and sister are buried here . This place doesnt keep the cemetery clean let's anyone go in just to smoke , never has any water to water flowers . They only maintain the entrance . You call to get something in order and they never call back . I feel like this cemetery is the only cemetery that looks so abandoned

  • Monique La Master

A pleasant place to reflect on your relatives, friends and others who have died and are at rest in a peaceful, pleasant, tranquil and at all times pristine cemetery. My surviving family have chosen this location as their final resting place in their wills and I have no qualms about executing their request.

I’m ashamed of what’s going on at Rosedale Cemetery. It looks disgusting and un attended. My family paid a lot to be buried there. We go and it’s closed. It looks like a movie nightmare. Do not take. Your love ones to be buried there !! What a des respect …

  • Leelee G

Very disappointed and offended. Not only did they cut down the trees around where my family is buried but whoever cut the trees also broke 5 erected headstones and did not have the decency to put them back or even place them upright. Shame on you.

  • Regina Reddick

Horrible conditions! Impossible to find a grave when they keep moving the headstone. Deplorable conditions. Sinking Graves. Partially covered Graves. Groundkeepers cut grass with weed whacker and leaves grass down.

  • Matthew Salmon

We went to see historic figure Maria Rasputin daughter of the one and only Rasputin. The experience was very enlightening, the grave yard very beautiful and well taken care off especially on how old it is.

  • Cynthia Arevalo

Worst cemetery. Grass is dry, the roads have so many potholes and dirty. If I had money to exhume my grandmother and aunts to another cemetery such as Forest Lawn I would with no hesitation.

  • Vero Rafael

3/11/2023 They have been closed on Saturday’s for the past two weeks with no notice. How are we to pay respects to our lost loved ones. Who can we contact to have our thoughts heard?

  • Holly E Guy

Must have been a beautiful cemetary at one time but, clearly, not cared for now. Grounds unkempt, graffiti everywhere, people getting drunk on the grounds and INCREDIBLY RUDE staff.

  • JimmyNeutronIsCool1427

I though it was a restaurant. I realized that the restaurant was way down the road far from this place. Sorry for any inconvenience This is a joke. Don’t take it seriously

  • eduardo zavaleta

Thives is what they are.Someone is pocketing making money .The maintenance budget they don't have to keep this place green and the roads new. This will have to change

  • Charlotte Henton

They don't take care of the grounds my mom And dad r there as well as my daughter and the grass is dry my mom's head stone is sinking down in the ground a mess

  • Philippe Daigle

Fans of BTVS do not take pictures before you went a bit further in the cemetery. Some old witch thinks she's the law and won't let you take pictures.

  • Lannette Beaujolais

The Office was closed at 2pm. Theres no signage; no directory. No groundsmen. They give you a map that only an ant can see.

  • Miguel Rod

Friendly employees .. small cementery .. they have a security guard , but cementery needs work , damaged fence ..

  • Barbara Kilman

Why is there no upkeep? The grass was dry! Homeless people living in the cemetery and just outside of it!

  • Shannon Olivas

A historical site it is. BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER was a regular filming local! I must visit some day

  • Anett Lopez

I disliked this cemetery because they don't have any lights and it's just plain dark there!

  • Maria Vasquez

Tiene una buena parte descuidada la zona de la entrada al cementario esta mas cuidada.

Wonderful to visit if you enjoy old graveyards. Many beautiful crypts and statues.
