I would give 0 stars if I could. Firstly, this is a guest house, not a “hotel”. I arrived to find the room was filthy and the floor covered in hair. Mould growing on the walls and floor skirting boards, bed was not cleaned, it was covered in bed bugs and the door to the room was not able to open or close without you having to push it with strength. Disgusting smell in the air. The rooms are basically at the back of a property in a shed. The bed filled with bed bugs. It’s a complete health risk. Don’t risk it for the cheap price. I left 20 mins after arriving and was forced to stay elsewhere. The rooms look NOTHING like what is advertised online. The “manager” is one of the rudest I have ever dealt with. Had no people skills and was extremely unprofessional and rude. He did offer to change my room to another room but it was just as bad and, the manager’s attitude and arrogance made me feel very unsafe to stay. I requested a refund, he aggressively refused. Told me to go elsewhere if I wasn’t happy but insisted he wouldn’t refund. I was left to spend thousands of dollars on last minute hotels. Be warned. This place is a gross, disgusting scam. Not safe for people at all. Avoid this place, don’t get sucked in by its cheap price; it isn’t worth it.

My room was very cheap and it was barely worth it. A tiny storage cupboard of a room right next to the front door. Barely enough room between the bed and the wall to move. The bed was reasonably comfortable and the en suite was a little dirty and the shower was small and did not drain properly. I had to cut my shower short as I was worried it would overflow. The service was non existent. I arrived late for check in and barely received a hello. I was told I needed to pay a £15 late check-in fee in cash, which was apparently listed on the booking website, but I could not find it. I only had £10 on me and that was apparently acceptable. This felt pretty dodgy to be honest but I didn't have much choice. There was free WiFi, however I was not given the password. I later found a sign by the entrance with them when I was leaving. There was apparently a free continental breakfast but I have no idea where, there were no directions to the breakfast room and after wandering about a bit I gave up looking. What really would have help is if the 24 hour manned help desk was actually manned, but there was no one available to ask. At checkout I just followed the lead of some other guests and left my room key in a bowl by the front desk.

The manager was disgustingly rude. I use a walking stick and the first thing he asked was what was wrong with me. Not an acceptable question to begin with. Then went on to tell me if I believed in myself I'd be able to walk fine and wouldn't need it. Unfortunately believing in myself isn't going to fix my body and heart. He then told me to lose weight. Weight which I hold due to medications. I was so upset that I felt ashamed of using a walking aid and didn't want to go out. Not to mention the room was 2 hours late to be ready. We arrived at 2 pm as was out check in time and the room wasn't ready until 4. When we turned on the fan provided dust flew out. Upon checking out my mum spoke to the manager and asked for an apology to which he approached me and told me he was just trying to give me a positive mindset. The whole interaction was a slap to the face. At least the concert I was in the area for made up for it. Not worth the price. Shocked at the managers behaviour and I frankly felt sorry for the 2 cleaning ladies who were rushed off their feet due to poor organisation. The mattresses were horrific and old. The light fixing had 2 of 10 bulbs working.

TLDR: bugs, noisy, very small. We had made a booking for 3 adults. The room was very small and two beds were cramped. It was basically one bed, one king size mattress next to a small size mattress. At night you can hear everything the other guests where doing, so if you have noisy room neighbors you won't sleep at all. During one day we found bites of bugs, and came back to the hotel to verify the beds wich seemed quite clean, and no marks of bugs, but when looking removing the sheets we found one and called the manager for him to see. At first he tried to blame it on us, asking questions on where had we been the day. We managed to get an understanding, but he didn't move us to another room because there was no space. Instead he gave us more sheets so we could pass the night, but the sheets were not clean at all. Being midnight we couldn't find any other place to stay, so we passed the night there. We decided to have an early check-out and the manager didn't even offer to refund the last night (unused) we had payed. I highly recommend to avoid this hotel, unless you want to get a very bad experience.

As soon as we arrived, the lobby door was locked even though we told the hotel beforehand that we would arrive at 1am. We waited outside for 20 minutes until someone finally opened the door. He then proceeded to tell us we needed to pay a late fee of £25 but didn’t accept cards and didn’t have change. So that was definitely to trick tourists. We went inside our room and the clothing racks on the wall were not firmly nailed in and came off with a slight touch. Everything was basically broken before we even came in. The second day, we came back to the hotel & one of the beds was completely soaked from a leak in the roof. The manager proceeded to tell us there were no other rooms available and simply gave us a duvet. But that was no sufficient because the mattress was completely soaked from the leak. He finally gave in and said there one more room available. We moved all of our stuff to the other room only to find bed bugs crawling around the curtains and beds. I currently have 7 bites all over my back from the bed bugs. Do not stay at this hotel.

I made a reservation for a day and Mr. Ahmad, the reception staff, permitted us to check in early before more than 4 hours. We only asked him if we can store a suitcase at the property and he said we can check in as the room is ready. He assisted us in taking our suitcase which is very kind of him. The room is clean and tidy with all amenities provided. It has a private bathroom. Also there is a parking space available for four vehicles. The location of the guesthouse is close to golders green underground station and close to it is a bus stop. A few minutes away is golders hill park which is really beautiful and has a variety of animals.

NOT RECOMMENDED!!! Very small rooms! WC in the room is so small that an adult can't even use the toilet seat! Not clean, old marks on sheets, coriander full of things like extra beds and unused furniture. Pictures on web site and even in Booking.con are all misleading!! Seems they don't care about the guests, only making money.. This hotel was a great place once, I've been here a few times before covid (when it was a nice family-run hotel) but since it had management or ownership change a couple of years ago, the breakfast room was canceled, no more reception area just a small desk in the corridor (with no one there anyway, if you need something you can call or ring the bell and even then it will take for ever to get a response) they simply filled the house with small rooms with no consideration to the gusts comfort at all! Very disappointing and can easily ruin your trip, i did ruin mine.

Shocking customer service, beds were broken and given piece of ply wood to put under the bed. Tried to complain and change rooms and the hotel receptionist kept giving fake numbers and putting on hold to then put the phone down. As I book digs regularly for work I wasted an insane amount of time and money to try and get their stay sorted to no avail. I should have had warning signs when the first receptionist told me I rung too early and she was in the shower, When I called back an hour later the lady was laughing and telling me she didn't know where she was! Never have I experienced such shocking customer service in my life. As soon as they have your money they have no interest in helping you thereafter. AVOID, AVOID AVOID!!!! If I could chose no stars or minus stars I would. Do NOT waste your time or money with this company.

Booked a deluxe family room for 4 adults (1 couple and 2 single adults) luckily the room came with 1 double and 2 single beds. Basic room, does need a bit of cosmetic updating but beds were comfy, room was clean, tea/coffee facilities, 2 hairdryers and a small fridge. Room faced sainsburys yard but didn't hear any noise from it. I reserved a parking spot in front by emailing (space for 3 cars), there was no actual sign of the space being reserved but luckily there was an empty space when we arrived. When checking in you get a key for front door and a key for your room. Very handy for a gig at Camden roundhouse. We got an uber (about £10) but close to public transport links and hotel is on a quiet residential street so no external noise. Would stay again for the price paid.

Decent hotel for a reasonable price. Ok, so you're not going to get Hilton luxury here, but you're not going to pay Hilton prices either! The rooms are, however, clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything you need for a decent night's sleep. Golders Green underground station is just a couple of minutes walk, and then it's just 20 minutes or so to central London. There's a limited number of parking spaces available, but be aware that a residents permit scheme is in operation on the surrounding streets, so if you're planning on bringing your car I'd recommend checking with the hotel that they'll have a space available. The only slight downside is the breakfast, for which only a continental option is available, but all in all this has become my go-to hotel when I need to stay overnight in London.

  • Jialong Liu

We reached there at 12noon hoping to leave our car first while we go to Camden market and were pleasantly surprised that they allow us to check in early... They did went in to touch up the room abit to make sure it was alright too. The receptio was really friendly during check in and check out. Superb location as it's only 1min from the nearest shop and all restaurants nearby. Despite all that, this is still in a quiet corner with Free parking. If u are taking the tube, then it's just a 3min walk to the station. We were in Room 6, which was abit old so it could do with some revamping. This is the reason why 1 star was missing. For the price, this was probably the best I could find around the area.

It's a ok guesthouse, the reviews did scare me off but the room was already booked, the owner was nice and friendly, room was clean but the bathroom had minor silly trash not sure why they didn't just do a good job cleaning, the atmosphere was a bitt off but I'm sure it's because I stressed out from the bad reviews.i will definitely recommend it for the location, parking was available The owner was helpful, the place is just outdated and if you are used to other Hotels that might be a turn off ,but if you are looking for just a place to rest and not all that glam it's perfect, most food shop was walking distance and open late, Sainsbury's as well right at the back .

RED FLAG! I hate to write bad reviews but this time is different. I must, for the sake of other people who consider staying here. If you do not want to risk your Health and Money, DO NOT book or stay at this hotel! Reason: The hotel is heavily infested with "bedbugs", even with physical evidence, the hotel denies and lies. No help, no refund or even a basic apology. I was forced to run from a "hotel" in the middle of the night...(not to mention the difficulty of finding a place to stay and disinfecting my bags and clothes) This hotel is a Disgrace to London and should be closed immediately due to health risks and the spread of an infestation! I am shocked and surprised that it still works.

Family of 4 stayed here for 1 night. The room was clean and comfortable, we were glad of the 2 fans as it was during the heatwave. I knocked a star off because the fridge wasn't very cold and the hairdryer cut out after a couple of minutes but other than that we cannot complain. Breakfast had a great selection of bread, pastries, cereals, fruit, cooked meats & cheese, preserves, juices etc for £7.50pp (under 12s free). Messaged reception to ask questions which were responded to promptly, nothing was too much trouble. Great location for Brent Cross (Troubadour Studios), excellent selection of cafes and places to eat nearby. Would definitely stay again, excellent value for the price and free parking and WiFi too

Beg bug infestation nest! Was awoken at night with a terrible itch and found multiple bed bug bites all throughout the body which caused a serious allergic reaction which required medicine. The bed and walls were full of bed bugs, even went onto the clothes! On top of that, the hotel refused to issue a refund, and I had booked the place for a week,, I had to immediately leave the place, scramble to find another hotel at midnight, put my health at risk and lost 600 GBP which the hotel refused to refund. I will sue the hotel for damages and refund and will report them to the health department and consumer rights agency.

If you are looking for a cheap, clean place to stay within a convenient area for transport etc look no further. Although the room may be small and basic, it is well equipped with a fridge, hair dryer, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The staff are very friendly and obliging. The local buses are a couple of minutes walk and the nearest station Golders Green about three minutes away, even for a slow walker. I could not fault this place. Although it may not be a five star establishment, I have given it five stars because that is what it deserves for the great cheap price you will pay. One of the best cheap hotels in London and I have stayed in many. These include higher price ones that have not been as good.

We booked a room for februari but had to postpone it to march. The hotel manager called Achmed gave us his word that the reservation was changed. When we arrived the same hotel manager said that he couldn't find the reservation and that the hotel was fully booked for the night. The rest of the week it was possible to sleep there but no refund was made for our lost night. Also the room was not the one we booked, having only 1 bed instead of two. The room was small and quite unsattisfactory. The bed was very small and the service was really bad. Other guests were accused of having broken the toilet while we were there.

We stayed for 7 nights Negative: the room and the bathroom were extremely dusty and dirty, no toilet paper restocking, towels were only changed every few days, same with the beds they were only made on 2 days, and the bed sheets were only changed ob these 2 days, the breakfast was an open buffet but you shared a lot of things with other guests e.g. there was one pack of butter that you shared with other guests Positive: the housekeeper was very friendly, underground station was very close to the hotel, a lot of cafes and restaurants in the area, supermarket around the corner

DONT DO IT!!! Rooms are not cleaned and WONT be cleaned. My room.had NO BLIND for 3 days , simple things, basics are ignored. No clean towels, no room clean, clumps of dust everywhere. A owner (Ahmed) has checked out and just grabs the money and refuses to give any sort of customer service. On my.last day the POLICE were called as another guest was furious at the level of service. Stayed here for a night at Wembley stadium. Great service from start to finish, they couldn't do enough for us 4 adults. REALLY friendly. Rooms and facilities well presented and clean. More pillows would be nice though. Parking available front and rear. Expect to add a £12.50 extra per day (£25 for a 1 night stay) to your budget as this is inside Londons "ULEZ" zone (details online). The gentleman that dealt with us was really great.. overall it's a decent place to stay.

I recently stayed at this hotel in North London that was affordable in price. The bed was comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly. The hotel is conveniently located near Golders Green tube station. However, I was disappointed to find that the window had no blinds or curtains, and the hairdryer in the room didn't work. The room was compact, clean & functional. Great location for us to get to Wembley & a really great restaurant at the end of the road called Elas Kitchen. Downsides are.....constant strong smell of cannabis which I believe came from staff. The journey to our room involved stepping around suitcases & beds in the corridor. Also did not appreciate the staff loudly shouting outside our bedroom window in the morning

I found the Anchor Hotel to be extremely comfortable. It was very clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful too. The price was very competitive and appealing. The location is great too. It is only a three minute walk to the Golders Green underground station and reasonably close to the end of the M1 which is helpful for my journey back. Checking in was easy, the staff on reception are very friendly and helpful. My room is on the small side but reflected in price. The room was very clean and has a kettle and fridge. It's a shame that they can't provide breakfast because of covid but there are plenty of places nearby to get food. It would be handy if there was a microwave for guests to use. It is located right next to the train and bus station. All in all a very good experience.

Perfect if you just need to lay your head down for a night or two if going into London or a concert at Wembley. To be honest I actually slept better here than I do in a Premier Inn. There is also breakfast available which I can't comment on as I didn't have breakfast. Tube is literally across the road and parking is available. I was very happy with my room and the service provided, the owner is also very kind and helpful. I've actually already booked two weekends in again for August. Definitely would recommend!

I stayed here for 5 nights and left there with satisfaction. They give you 2 keys when you check in. One for your room another for main entrance . It’s not kinda hotel because you feel your home . I was okey with room. It was clean and tidy. I give 1 star less because of ; no breakfast, no daily housekeeping and the most important thing is about beds . They are not comfortable at all. Overall; it’s good choice to stay there. Next to the Golders Green underground station and many bus stations.

  • Grace L

Terrible experience, place is absolutely crawling with bed bugs and I was locked in my room, took 40 minutes before the person who is supposed to be at reception (Ahmed) got to me and by this time I had to call the fire brigade as there was no answer. Very unprofessional not even an apology, he actually complained that I was disturbing him even though I was trying to leave for work! Absolutely terrible, I even showed the fire fighter the poor condition of the lock on the door.

Aweful experience! It is not a hotel !! The room was really small and it did not look anything like the pictures advertised. The door of the bathroom was damaged and it was not clean at all. TV was not working, aircon was not working. And it was loud. The floor smelled of grass and smoke. Never saw the owner/ Manager once. Would never go there again. Overpriced.

Very small room in desperate need of refurbishment. The smallest bathroom I’ve ever seen. Filthy windows with mould, and hardly keeping any noise out. Sink leaking so ‘bathroom’ floor drenched. No one on reception so can’t ask for room change. This is meant to be a double - dread to think what a single room is like. Thankfully only staying one night. Awful definitely would not recommend.

Really enjoyed our stay there. It was very clean and the staff was great. The room was a bit outdated but still very clean and cozy. Had all the necessary amenities in the room. The bathroom was actually remolded and looked really nice so that was great. They also gave us a free parking spot (witch we had to reserve before hand). It’s also right next the the metro and a bunch of restaurants and coffee shops so it was a great location too.

3/4 front parking spaces, keypad entry as well as key, room was okay, very small bathroom, bed was comfortable. My only complaint was the noise, not sure if it was other guests or the owner taking his children to school but I heard children shouting, and running around early in the morning about 7am which woke me up. Very loud and inconsiderate.

  • DON DAVIS

The worst hotel, I have ever stayed. Single beds in a double room. Broken cots making clingy spring noise. Shown a standard double bed room in photos and when we reached there they gave us, 2 single beds in a small room. The washroom is so small. Part of cost cutting i guess. NO DRINKING WATER, NOT ENOUGH TISSUES. NO SPACE TO WALK BETWEEN ROOM.

Beware of mites and bedbugs. Also if you go earlier than the expected arrival time they are going to change you.

Horrible hotel. We found bedbugs in our beds and got bitten on the face, arms, legs and neck.

Lovely stay at the Anchor Hotel, we were a bit sceptical after reading the reviews but they couldn’t be more wrong, top bloke runs it as-well. Would go again
