I really wish I could give this place a zero stars. THE WORST BANK EVER. After paying my municipal taxes for my business for whatever reason the DOT could not see that the payment had posted in Albany so they called over to see if it had been taken out of the account and somebody at this bank said it had not so I ended up paying double (over 10K in taxes) I am still trying to get the entire balance back from the city... For the more I told them to stop and automatic payment from my POS. They sent me a bunch of documents to fill out and sign which I did so immediately. They never stopped the payments.. on top of it they decide to close everything including their online banking assistance because they have a meeting... This is a regular occurrence that their bank and all their services including phone center customer service will be closed because of one meeting. For whatever reason because they messed up so many times on My account they have locked me out of online banking. I sent them an email yesterday and I have been calling all day.. It is impossible to get through. If you dare to press the number one for a call back you'll never get one. This is the most incompetent bank ever and the reason why I stay with them is because I need longevity for my business account in order to receive the loans in grants I am waiting for. It's just total FAIL. I WILL DEFINITELY BE TAKING LEGAL ACTION. NEVER EVER HAVE I DOUBT WITH SUCH LACK OF PROFESSIONALITY... AND FORGET ABOUT face to face customer service. 9 out of 10 times the people in the bank are miserable and nasty.. not the tellers but the ones that you actually have to interface with about business. It's shameful and disgraceful.

Hello to all. My name is Elizabeth Acevedo and I had the pleasure of having Kizzy Doran as the person whom I interacted with when I called regarding quite a dilemma (through no fault of Amalgamated bank) may I add. Nevertheless, Kizzy was very courteous, professional and eager to help me. Traits that are, sadly, very rare when dealing with a representative of many establishments. So, I am taking a few moments out to let everyone ( clientele, personnel and upper management) know that Krizzy is an asset to Amalgamated Bank. When all was said and done, I hung up the phone satisfied with the results of my inquiry. I am glad to be a customer of the Almagamared Bank family. I am an extremely satisfied customer.

When I first moved to NYC, I as a student with very few funds. Big banks then, in 1992, required a large minimum deposit of over $200, which was beyond my means. But I needed a bank to pay bills, etc. A friend at school told me about Amalgamated Bank. They were the ONLY full service bank that operated fairly and treated everyone well and respectfully. Big Banks were designed to keep he poor and working classes out of the banking system, I opened my first account in Manhattan and I have continued my great relationship in Brooklyn. I LOVE my bank! I would never use a "Big Bank." Ever.

This branch is not open atleast put it to say close instead of open on google search ......idk what to say about this branch not even the atm is giving cash right now.....update the new hrs and days but I know for a fact this branch is close so put close till further notice atleast customers dont make the unnecessary trip becuase it does say open.....and yes we are all looking out for our health with this epademic but service the atm if the bank it self is close. All

I have tried to get through to to them many times by phone. they offer a call back service, but they never call back. They offer the option to leave a message, but never respond. And they never, ever answer the phone. More than one year after I first tried to speak to a human, I am still trying. Amalgamated Bank: please sort this out! I want to recommend you, but don't want to lose any friends. Two stars for ethics, zero for customer service.

Updated review: I had business accounts here for 5 years and the previous branch manager, Andrea, was wonderful. I appreciated the history & social mission of the bank. The new branch manager is incompetent at best. They can barely answer the phone at the branch during business hours. I closed my accounts because there is no incentive to give them my money for zero interest with monthly fees in such a high-interest environment.

This is by far the best family bank that I have ever been the manger is Andy mejia and he is a AMZING person who knows what he is going and shows you every possible way that the bank operates... So please next time you go in ask for Andy mejia great guy

The service is HORRIFIC ESPECIALLY trying to reach by phone...I’m on hold for over an hour now, and no one has yet to answer, and when they did I was already on hold for an hour Didn’t want to do it BUT CHASE HERE I COME …

Do not use this bank , they have not reinstated hours at branches and you are forced to use only ATMs , and if you have a problem at the ATM , they will tell you you are out of luck ... I am $400 out of luck

You ever looking for a job with this bank don’t bother! You ever come across Karina Briones use to be with first republic bank she’s a time waster! Uses people for interviews. Avoid

walked in here off the street to get some change and found the people to have a nasty attitude - I guess being a 'progressive' bank means having an attitude

Untrustworthy bank that leaves me never response my inquires, whether in email or message. Delay mortgage processing on purpose for changing extra dollars.

It’s not my original bank but I still love it one of the tellers she’s very very respectful and very nice lady never have a problem I love banking there..

The manager here was so lovely and kind, she went above and beyond for us. Rare to experience this in New York. Thank you so much!!
