My family and I have been going to Aladdin's for many, many years. It has been our go-to spot for gyros, schwarmas, and greek fries. Our visits probably average at least twice each month. With the current COVID-19 stay-at-home order and restrictions on dine-in eating, it has been really important to me and my family to support our favorite small, local businesses. We had actually just enjoyed a meal on Thursday night without issue. Today was different. I called Aladdin's to place a to-go order (2 jumbo lamb and beef gyros without veggies, 1 chicken schwarma without pickles, and 1 large greek fries) at 2:56 pm on 4/26/2020 and was told it would take 20 minutes. I arrived early and waited in my car for awhile, and went inside. As the only customer in the restaurant, there was only one person working and I let him know I had already called in my order over the phone. He responded something along the lines of them having just switched shifts (to my understanding as he had a thick accent). Thinking nothing of this, and as my family and I do every time we pick up food, I jogged his memory and said "yeah the 2 gyros, 1 schwarma, and 1 greek fries" which he wrote down on his pad. He proceeded to charge me, and I tipped him 15%. He then tells me it will be about 5 minutes still and I saw that he already had some of the food going on the grill. After waiting, he hands me my order and I say thank you and leave. When I get into my car which is parked directly in front of the restaurant, I discover that my order was incorrect. Instead, I received 3 lamb and beef gyros, not jumbo, with veggies, and no chicken schwarma. The only item correct was the greek fries. I immediately return to the restaurant, sure that this was someone else's order, and very politely informed him that my order was incorrect and listed the items that I actually ordered. He then immediately cuts me off saying "No, no, no, you ordered 3 gyros, and 1 greek fries and points to his order pad". When I tried to calmly explain that I had ordered over the phone 20 minutes prior and tried to jog his memory with my order, he immediately cut me off, repeated the same thing over, and very curtly added "this is what I charged you for, this is what you get!" He then began to turn his back to me, and headed back towards the grill. Out of the corner of my eye, another female customer watched our exchange with a startled look on her face. Feeling simply defeated and misunderstood, I left the restaurant with a completely incorrect order knowing I just tipped this man almost $5 on top of everything. This is the first time ever that I felt so disregarded as a customer. I'm calling it as it is - I suspect the treatment I received is because I am a woman and I was alone. My only regret is that I didn't get his name or take a photo of him but here is my description: Older male, maybe in his 40's, almost completely bald, burgundy red T-shirt, and dark complected. This person was not one of their usual really laid back, very kind younger employees who you see so often behind the counter. There are far too many places to spend your hard-earned money to support local businesses, especially under the current COVID-19 circumstances, so this will be the last time I will be eating at Aladdin's. One bad apple can really ruin a business for customers, even regulars, as it did for me.
What this place lacks in pretty much everything, it makes up for by one, being located on The Ave (University Way) and two, staying open super late most of the week to handle the late night college drinking crowd. I found this place because I am a Postmates delivery guy and I was sent here about 5 times in a row one night. Last night I stopped in to have a gyro. It was good but I ordered it spicy and even though it had good flavor, it was nowhere near spicy and severely lacked much tzatziki sauce. If you're looking for some late night food in the U-District, they have two different locations. Both on The Ave. The place is filthy and tiny but you'll be able to overlook that if you are as drunk as most of the people who patronize the joint. I would eat there again but then again, I like dives. I would think that these places make money by the barrel but I could be wrong. If that's true however, they could spend some of that money to clean up the place and maybe remodel it a bit. Oh well. Maybe that's why I've never been able to stack up enough capital to open my own place and that's the bottom line. PUN intended. Thanks for reading.
Great little falafel spot on the Ave (of which there are plenty). Things this place does well: Price-6.50 total including tax and debit fee for a pretty big sandwich Speed-literally only listened to one song while waiting. Impressive Spice: I asked for spicy sauce and they did not disappoint. Maybe I'm weak but it had my nose running. SO GOOD. Salad: I hate it when I get falafel and theres like one bite of tomato or lettuce inside. This place gave me a good handful of salad. Packaging: To go order came in paper square, inside paper sleeve for holding it, inside a paper bag for travel, with a nice thick napkin. On point. Things I didn't love: I prefer my falafel to be a little more self contained. I'm not sure if this means cooked longer so the shell crisps up, or if there was too much water in his batter or what. The flavor was still delicious, but it sort of fell apart inside so that there was no falafel shape, but more like a falafel filling. Not a huge detractor, just a texture thing.
This place needs some food inspection and authorities need to be alerted about the suspicious behavior of the staff. I went today with my friends for dinner while returning after a terrible dinner. This is what we saw: A girl went up to the counter for napkin or something - staff gave a weird smile /attitude and handed her a small pocket paper bag. She felt very uncomfortable and went back. That apart: On of my friend had to repeat the order 3 times. Then instead of a jumbo gyro the guy gives regular gyro. Also miscalculates and inflates the bill ....WOW! None of the staff wear gloves and serve the food as if they are doing some favor. The food quality is pathetic ! Ambiance is disgraceful the folks have a BAD ATTITUDE!! There are a bunch awesome gyro places all along U DIST AVE. My group is never coming back. But we will alert the authorities of the suspicious behavior! You should be ashamed for yourselves!
Man this place blows me away every time I come here. The food is made with love. That level of care affects every aspect of the meal. Just way too good. Is always warm, spiced/seasoned well, well sauced and dressed. Staff is so sweet and appreciative and well deserving of praise. Every-time I make the trek I feel lucky to be able to have their food.

Been vegetarian my entire life. Falafel has always been a safe haven for us. You know what I mean.
I’ve been eating here for about 20 years. I’ve literally eaten hundreds of meals here. I always get a lamb and beef gyro combo with rice and/or a gyro salad. The food has been consistently good over the years with only a few misses. The guys at the counter have always treated me decently. Cleanliness of the restaurant has improved over time. You can order at the counter, sit down and they’ll bring the food to your table. There’s some cushy places to sit in the very back if you’re so inclined. The bathroom could be improved but whatever…

I've eaten here allot and though there food is yummy don't bother ordering anything "Jumbo" sized... I've never noticed any difference in the portion. Ordered a "jumbo" Gyro to go, maybe they gave me extra lettuce but that's about all I could tell was extra. To make mattress worse I asked for extra sauce and when I opened up my sandwich on a plate there was barely any sauce on there to begin with, no less extra sauce. Finally, I had to dump my sandwich on a plate because apparently they just take the half wrapped Gyro and throw it in a bag. Think they would have wrapped in sealed in foil as a to go order but nope, so half the sandwich ended up at the bottom of the bag. So just be aware...
Great place with really good lamb and proportionate servings to the price and leaves you feeling full and satisfied! The combo is worth it for The fries and soda as the fries are really good too and not really greasy like fries at some other places like the chieftains fries. The drawback on this is the wait time for food which can be 20 minutes for a simple lamb gyro. Also, while they have an amex sticker on their window they will typically fight with you over using that card. I always felt this was a foolish move because instead of paying an extra percent of a sale a store is alienating a customer and they are gaining nothing.
We got take out tonight. The lentil soup was good but cold. It was more watery than I expected. The hummus was ok, too much evoo. The greek salad was gross. A huge pile of sad looking iceberg with a couple slices of cucumber and tomato, some odd tasting feta, and a ton of dressing that tasted alot like ranch. The falafel and the baked cauliflower were also drenched in dressing. they were so soggy we tossed the pita and more of the sad lettuce out to try to get to the good stuff but the sauce had made it all soggy. Yuk. We should have joined the line for the thai place next door. Lesson learned. We will not be eating here again.
This place is fantastic. The service is fast, friendly, and attentive. I ordered the Aladdin Fries because why not? Greek fries are usually delicious and adding the gyro meat on top sounds like a plus. I was not prepared for the hefty portion I was given. And I did not think I could eat it all. But once I tasted of those delicious Aladdin Fries, it was over. I ate the whole thing. Do yourself a favor and get those. Or anything else on the menu.

This place is pretty good. I really enjoy the falafel, my only complaint is that I've gotten different falafel sandwiches despite ordering the same thing each time - the first time it was nice, but the second time it had fries in it which isn't advertised for the standard falafel sandwich and I wasn't expecting them. I don't think that they add anything to the experience or flavor, but it would be fine if that had been what I ordered. Other than that unfortunate experience, I love this place and I'm definitely going to return!

They've been a great go to for a lot of years but I think they may have been bought out by a new owner. They used to make a fabulous Baba Ghanouj with perfectly smoked eggplant, that had no Tahini in it. Last night I grabbed a to go order and it had a noticeable amount(the flavor was overpowering) of Tahini and it was garnished with WAY too much olive oil and lemon juice. My recommendation would be to state in the menu description that it includes Tahini(an allergen) and ask the customer if they want olive oil and lemon juice garnish.
I never post reviews, but Aladdin Falafel Corner is absolutely worth it. I have literally never had a better gyro than the Aladdin Gyro with the garlic sauce from here. I first had one months ago and I've been chasing that high ever since. If you find yourself in the area, go here. If you need to drive from far away, go here. I cannot overstate how delicious and satisfying the gyro from this fantastic little establishment is every time. I will feed my new found addiction here every time I have an excuse to visit.
I'm surprised the food was as good as it was considering the employees were so stoned they were forgetting conversations as they were happening. The place is filthy as well. I know it's near UW and open till 2am, but at 9pm you would think it would look at least tidy. The best part was that the first item we ate was so good, we made the bad decision to order another, which came out cooked completely different. And try explaining that situation to someone high as a kite. Probably won't be going back.
This place is very dirty. I literally never write reviews but the owner is very rude. He skipped my order and was extraordinarily rude about it. It took me 40 minutes to get my food even though there was no line. I can not discourage people from coming here enough. The food was barely edible when I got it

I have been coming here for years, Tonight may be the end of the line for me. While eating I discovered metal shavings in the meat product of my 22A dinner meat special. I brought it to the attention of staff. While the meal was "comp." for my inconvenience. He did explain what he thought it may have been. After I got home I think I may have ingested another smaller one that is stuck in my throat. May have been bad cleaning practices. It is a shame that it had to end this way.
It was so nasty. I’m actually upset I just spent money here. After reading the reviews I thought oh this would be good.. Ordered and absolutely regret it. Didn’t even get past two bites. It tasted extremely burnt. That was the only flavor. Burnt. I’m so extremely disappointed and I’ve tried calling multiple times and no answer. Just be careful what you order.

Predictable, standard, and generous. Note the positive connotations behind each word, because by no means will this place disappoint. The wait is friendly and they serve food late into the night. One curiousity is an advert for a gyro, fries, and drink at $7.99 hanging outside their establishment, but upon asking for it, you are charged $9. I'm not crying over the extra 20¢ difference but you know....principles man.
I have a deep love for all things Mediterranean, so when my partner and I were visiting Seattle, we decided to try a place with Gyros and Schwarma sight unseen. We happened to be in the area, and wandered into Aladdin's. It was the best choice we made that day, because Aladdin's is spectacular. I have no criticism towards the food we had, it was perfect. Great value, nice people - absolutely worth experiencing.
I love the food here because of the flavor. They cook it better than any other gyro/falafel place!

They are not coordinated, and take very long to make the order. Some people's food gets made before your own when you order over 10 minutes before the other person. Food taste okayish but it's not worth the 40 minute wait. There was only one person in front of us so 40 minutes is absolutely unreasonable.

as good as the food is over here, and it is GOOD(!!!), I come here when I’m craving the tea - orange pekoe w/ dried rosemary and sugar - *shrug* it’s good man. I’m a simple girl so I usually order a falafel wrap: inside is not dry, outside is crunchy, dripping in sauce. 10/10 Decided to treat myself to the Greek fries and it was a prime decision. 10/10 (11/10 if hungover)
Don't let the street level atmosphere fool you, Aladdin's is without a doubt one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in the city. The Aladdin gyro is the best in the city and big enough to save for later. The fries too are perfectly cut, fried, and topped with everything from feta to dill. Staff are extremely friendly and quick. A must try for residents and tourists.
I've been coming here a couple weeks now ever since it was recommended to me through friends, the food these gentleman make here is absolutely incredible. Just thinking about the food here will make your mouth water. They have been nothing but kind and pleasant both on the phone and in person. I am telling everyone I know about this place, highly recommend it!
Horrible costumer service, ordered the food by calling them. Upon paying for my order the cashier decided to take my order and give it to someone else, on purpose, right in front of me. Then I had to wait 20 minutes for them to make it again. Don’t take my order thought the phone if you’re gonna do that.

The only falafels or gyros I crave and have to have in Washington state are here. Their spicy house sauce goes on thick and they will give out generous portions of it if you want. I haven't lived or worked in the U-Dist for over a decade and I still come back here from as far as Tacoma just because thier Lamb - Beef Gyros and Greek fries are worth the trip.
The place is a typical UW dive, but the staff seemed friendly and the food was good. Pretty clean as well. Had the beef gyro and their fries. Portions are good size as well.

I love gyros and usually try to hit up all the ones on the ave throughout the yr. But the last time I went here, no joke, 2 hrs later I had a bad case of the stomach flu. I would like to encourage the management to make sure the gyros are prepared properly because I usually love this location. Thank you and please continue to make great gyros.
Very delicious food, especially the chicken shawarma, falafel sandwich type C, and good lamb shawarma. I Love the most the Creek Fries, it’s amazing. Once you start eating the fries you can’t stop till it’s all gone. The place opens almost 24/7. I came here many many time, and sometimes around 2 am in the morning. Highly recommended.
Ordered from here twice. First was a gyro, good. Second time was Greek fries option and the fries were soggy. Good portion of meat, but I gave more than a couple of the fries to the dogs. No bueno.

I had a chicken shawarma yesterday and it was grilled to perfection, followed by a side of rice and vinegar salad top with onions and olives because I didn’t want fries. They were chill and substituted my meal with no hassle and included a drink. This is going to be my to go to spot for my lunch or late dinner. I highly recommend it❤️
Small place but good amount of seating. Very friendly staff and pricing is good. The menu can be a little overwhelming but the Gyros are really good and its always fun to split the Aladdin's fries with some friends (can try eating it all yourself but might destroy your stomach). Also delivers with Uber eats which can be very nice
Amazing quality of food and generous portions. Ordered a protein plate, wrap and baklava. The baklava was as close to traditional as I've had in the PNW. The meats were perfectly cooked and served with great condiments. You can tell there is passion in everything they serve. Highly recommend if you fancy this cuisine and nearby.
I went yesterday with my family for lunch while returning after a terrible lunch. This place needs some food inspection and authorities need to be alerted about the suspicious behavior of the staff.

I've been eating here for years and will keep returning. They are an excellent value on the Ave. The food is better than their sister store down south. The service is always quick and friendly. It used to feel a little tight in there when they were busy, but they have recently expanded. There's plenty of room for everyone now.
It's fast, pretty clean, and good food. I asked the guy who took my order for his recommendation, and he told me the falafel is what makes them famous. Not the best falafel in the world, but it was still very good. Good enough to want to come back soon. Seating is a bit crowded, and heater is a little noisy for me.

This place has consistently offered good gyros for years. The last time we ordered however was not the best. Everything was extremely salty and overpoweringly seasoned with a bunch of spices. It was pretty disappointing. We might give it one last shot, but overall sad to see the change in flavor profile

Great food and served fast. We realized we were running late for our next thing and told them that we wouldn't be able to wait for our food. Told them they could keep the money and give a free meal to someone. They busted out our food right there and got us on our way. Awesome people.
This is by far one of the best restaurants I have ever been too. I go at least once a week. Authentic food, always tasty, quality customer service and dosent matter what time they are open they always serve the best food. I recommend the Aladdin Gyro. It absolutely never disappoints!
The menu looks very enticing, but for a place with falafel in the name their falafel was pretty unpleasant. Despite being made to order mine was singed on the outside, too salty, and had an unpleasant texture. Looking forward to trying other options from what looks like a great place
The smells of Aladdin are captivating, one could so far as to say life changing. Nothing beats seeing a massive rack of lamb and beef (meat) at 3 in the morning. Excellent shawarma as well as gyros, always be getting that large. Free water when paying cash hit harder than Ray Rice.
Beef shwarma was so delicious and packed full of beef! Perfect way to end the night. They take cash or card, but prefer cash. Everyone there was so kind and friendly, can't wait to come back to try more!

Resonable prices, quick and friendly service, and DELICIOUS food. They make some serisouly scrumptious gyros, the greek fries are mouth watering. If you go late, be aware of the amusingly impared college crowd, but this food is worth the wait and ignoring them. So FREAKING GOOD!
I've been going here over 10 years because they used to be the best. Today was horrible though the fried weren't cooked all the way and every part of my meal was half way full. I'm hoping this is not going to be the normal but the last few times my experience hasn't been great.

Ordered over the phone for the first time and the young lady was super helpful. She was very nice and polite. Someone I know at Seattle hookah lounge recommended this place to me and wow, the food is delish. Good price, awesome customer service and perfect location. …
Best gyro spot in Seattle in my opinion. Get the Aladdin lamb and beef gyro, you will not regret it! It has a delicious sauce and grilled onions. The baba ganoug is one of the best ones I've ever had. Their baklava is also extremely tasty if you're in the mood for dessert.
I've been coming here since 1996. At one point I came here every day for lunch for over a year. More than an institution on the Ave, it would be difficult to imagine living in this city without Aladdin's. Thank you Ali, for 20 years of falafel, foule, tea and friensdship!
This place some of the better gyros around and the staff is very friendly and pleasant. The prices are very good too. It's tiny and has cheap tables and chairs. It used to have a very spare decor but has recently added pretty but incongruous Navaho style wall hangings.
I've seen better Mediterranean restaurants. I asked to toast my gyro, didn't get to that. Got the chicken shishtawook sandwich. The chicken was burnt. They have ayran (salty yogurt drink) which is a positive. Had a side of falafel, which was too salty and overly fried.
People say all the Greek food on the ave is the same owner same food but I’m positive this is the spot... it’s always good but this location is GREAT every time, fresh hot done amazing, this is the one I’m telling you especially on Friday night when my guys are working

I ordered the chicken over rice meal. Can’t remember what it’s called. It came with hummus, salad, rice, chicken. The spices, hummus, and chicken were amazing. But they microwave old rice. It would have been way better if they kept fresh rice on a warming hotel pan
I ordered the lamb n beef gyro combo special said 8.99 but it cost me over 10 and that was cash. Asked for no seasoning on fries. The gyros was good but the fries were horrible didn look or taste freshly cooked. 3 stars for the gyros n the guy at counter was nice.

The chicken schwarma was absolutely delicious. My buddies got the Aladdin fries along with two gyros and said aladdin has great food and we will be back for sure!! Soo will i, this time i am going to try the beef schwarma. Best place in seattle for gyro's!!
Rude staff accused me of ordering at the wrong place when I arrived after receiving a message that my order was ready for pickup. After showing them I had the right place, the fries were undercooked and the meat was significantly less for aladdin fries.
Awesome food with large portions served at relatively low price. Would recommend to all foodies. Staff is nice, but a little slow in attending to customers and getting food out. Can get pretty busy and loud at night, so I would not recommend for a date.
Our favorite lunch counter restaurant in Seattle, and we have been to a lot of them. Great atmosphere, excellent food, and friendly middle eastern staff. I always order the jumbo gyro and they haven't failed me yet. Been going there for 15 or so years.
Stopped in here on the spur of the moment, and on everything, this was the beat Gyro I've ever had in my lifel!!!! Amazing! Full of flavor, huge portion sizes for the price, excellent customer service, I highly recommend these guys!!!
A bit dingy, but this is THE place to go for Greek fries after a late night out. There's an extra charge for using card which is frustrating, and the wait times can be unexpectedly long. But it's open late and the food is good.
I had to move a thousand miles away just so I would stop eating here every other day! More than just the normal gyro place, they season the meat with their own blend of spices and pile the meat on thick. BRB gotta make a drive.
Food is delicious, prices are reasonable, and hella good Mediterranean music is literally blaring which will make you want to dance. Or make you want to duck under the table because it sounds like gunshots. It was a good time.

I love this place. I have been coming here for over twenty years. They have delicious gyros at reasonable prices. They have been a staple on the ave for as long as I can remember. I hope they stay for many more years.
Great place! Got here around 9 pm with a short line. The chef/cashier were super nice and polite. The price is cheap, and the food is

Love the food and the best thing is how they treat you as a friend and want to help you in any way but in general I love everything on the menu

Aladdin Frys, just saying it conjures up feelings of warmth running through me. I've been here multiple times and they never fail to disappoint, maybe the best frys in Seattle. Quintessential spot on the Ave.
Been one of my favorite falafel spots for a long long time. A staple on the Ave for many years! Finally branched out and tried their veggie platter and Greek fries the other day, so good. Highly recommended!
This is probably the best Mediterranean food place around in Seattle area. Having lived in South East Michigan with amazing middle eastern food, this is the closest I could get to that's back home in MI.!
The best food in Seattle. The falafel are soo good. The cashier was very friendly. Even though we had a larger order, he was very patient in taking the order and helped us with the custom order.
Gyro dish has very good flavor, I like that it has a little spice to it, but it might not be for everyone. Big serving too, I had enough for two dinners and it tastes almost as good reheated.
Best Greek fries I've found in Seattle. The falafel sandwich is also delicious. Even after I moved out of the neighborhood I still come back here, despite other gyro places that are closer.
Small and simple, but amazing food. They are one of the few late night restaurants open on the ave. But their lamb shawarma and baklava were absolutely heavenly. I will absolutely be back.
Probably one of the most delicious places to eat on the ave. Defintely not a first date spot, however nothing comes close to beating a shish tawook and greek fries at 1 in the morning.
Great delicious food and they were very hospitable

The Alladin gyro is the best gyro iv ever had! Been coming here for 20 years. Skip all the lines for the over hyped Thai place and get yourself some delicious middle East style food!
What can I say. Best gyros in town. I've been going here for 20 years and it just doesn't disappoint. Takes a bit to get the food but OMAllah the garlic tsadziki sauce is amazing!
Best Falafel that I have had since moving to Seattle four years ago... Great Gyros as well. It is out of the way for me, but I may be taking some detours to get there more often!
Their behavior very bad, they don't know how to talk with customers.

This is my favorite gyro place in Seattle and I visit every time I come to town. The only thing that's annoying is, they take forever to prepare a simple gyro to-go order.
Lamb n beef gyro was juicy tender with perfect balance of spices , yea it goes well with fresh feta cheese Greek fries No complaints against management , friendly staff !
Still the best gyros in the area and much faster service than what I remember. The Greek fries were surprisingly good. Can't wait to come back for the late night fix.
Good spot. Their gyros are some of the better ones on the Ave, but multiple people close to me experienced stomach problems. Cheap and open late. (go to Shwarma King)
It had been awhile since I'd had Shish Tawook and it was good. The chicken was tender and the hummus flavorful but the sandwich overall was really wet and hard to eat
Good sandwiches, plenty of vegetarian options: falafel, foul, fried cauliflower, and more. Sandwiches can be a bit messy as the generous sauce is on the thin side.
