"Great place for a picnic--& and an education! Bottom of the stairs on Sask Dr, or there's close parking off Queen Elizabeth Drive, w/chair access to some areas"
"If you aren't familiar with art or, especially, with Indigenous Art and Culture you can read the many signs that provide information and insight into the many absolutely amazing pieces in this park"
"Beautiful park with gorgeous view especially in the autumn"
"Fantastic art work in a setting of natural surroundings"
"The art work is beautiful and connects to culture, its too bad that the City of Edmonton cannot even send a crew to manage the over grown grass and weeds! It's an eye sore and honestly disrespectful to the intent of why the park is there"
Great place for a picnic--& and an education! Bottom of the stairs on Sask Dr, or there's close parking off Queen Elizabeth Drive, w/chair access to some areas. Lots of small hills and more private areas, too. The many art installations have 3 First Nations languages plus English. More traffic noise by edges of the park, but definitely a mini oasis, tucked within Edmonton. I walked the stairs out, to UofA, my party walked the Walterdale into the city, and the other, on crutches, needed w/chair parking. Perfect! (Ok, a lawn mowing would reduce the mosquito population - bring some repellant!!!) EDIT: came to watch YEG's fireworks? The northwest hill, with a view of the Waltedale, has the best views in town. Sadly, this is no longer a best kept secret, so GET THERE EARLY to enjoy!
If you aren't familiar with art or, especially, with Indigenous Art and Culture you can read the many signs that provide information and insight into the many absolutely amazing pieces in this park. You will find there is a strong connection to culture, values, and place. To be honest, even without reading the signs the art is enjoyable, beautiful, and welcoming. A spot I look forward to coming time and time again.
Beautiful park with gorgeous view especially in the autumn. From the name of the park, you can tell that the park is related to indigenous people. There are some indigenous art works here where you can explore. Additionally it is a great place to check the skyline of Edmonton. Really relaxable and peaceful place. Worth visiting if you have time.
Fantastic art work in a setting of natural surroundings. I would recommend coming here for a great insight into the First Nation people and the beautiful art work they have created. The art work is spaced out nicely along a wandering trail. It’s a new installation. There is a nice area with a shelter and picnic tables.
The art work is beautiful and connects to culture, its too bad that the City of Edmonton cannot even send a crew to manage the over grown grass and weeds! It's an eye sore and honestly disrespectful to the intent of why the park is there. I drive by there everyday... City of Edmonton you can do better.
I'm grateful this art exists in Edmonton. The park needs to be tended to by city staff and one installation us still fenced off from fall 2020. The art is exquisite. Beware that the last piece (the turtles) is less than 20 metres from a very busy road.
I like the art work and the new shelter with the surrounding picnic tables. On the negative side, there is quite a bit of afternoon traffic noise on the lower portion of the park - maybe plan your trip for early morning.
Beautiful park with thoughtful art. A great addition to our river valley and a wonderful use of what was simply empty space. Looking forward to the artist placards being in indigenous languages as well as French!
It's great to see an outdoor space that celebrates First Nations, Métis and Inuit culture, art and connection to land in Edmonton. Note the nearest washrooms are across the (busy) road.
Great place to bring visiting friends and family. The park itself is small but you can explore the art, have a picnic and make an afternoon of it. One of my favourite city spots.
Beautiful park. It features a number of beautiful and inspiring indigenous artwork. One of the art pieces was done by an inspiring friend and architect Tiffany Shaw-Collinge!
contemporary stuff, barely related to indigenous culture, far from being original or traditional. Laser-cut clean polished stone carvings and plastic letters on a meadow.
Portrays different Indigenous artwork which is informative and meaningful. It’s a small park and better be careful if you have kids coz it’s near a busy road..
Loved this place .... Perfect spot for an evening. I have no words for the indigenous art here and you get an amazing view of city line.
Beautiful park. The art pieces are very meaningful and an education for those of us who are learning about indigenous people.
Beautiful park with some really nice indigenous artwork and beautiful views of the Walterdale Bridge and downtown Edmonton.
A wonderful place where you feel yourself like simple, relaxed and connected to our mother earth
A lovely slice of land with fantastic pieces of art and information. Well worth walking around.
Very quiet place and you can watch the bridge from there. Really nice view.
Nice and engaging art that informs one about indigenous history in Canada.
Interesting place to walk around. Little icy at the moment.
Great place for a picnic. Has cute little bbq's.
Good to visit with family
Was pretty cool..
