Legvtakhevi – one of Tbilisi's oldest districts. This beautiful place is not as known to locals as it is among our guests. The big number of tourists that come here every day proves this fact. Legvtakhevi is one of the most historical places of Old Tbilisi. It is located in the southern part of the old town. Its name comes from the fig, as there were many fig trees on this area in the past. Legvtakhevi literally means “the gorge of figs.” It was first mentioned in 1429. This place was dividing the old town’s two districts from each other. Now this area is part of Abanotubani (the district of Sulfur Baths). The river that flows there is called Tsavkisi-Tskali (water) gorge. A beautiful waterfall and the bridge of lovers. At the end of this road, you will see a little waterfall, which is really appealing. Feel free to take as many photos as you want: believe me, you will want to keep this place in your memory forever. Before you reach the waterfall, you will see the bridge of lovers. This romantic bridge is full of padlocks with the names of couples and quotes in many languages. People believe that if they lock a padlock on this bridge, their love will be forever. Legvtakhevi is beautiful at all seasons. Sometimes, the waterfall is frozen during wintertime, but you can escape hot summer days here, as the temperature is much cooler.

A beautiful place to walk to. However, some photos might be confusing here. In order to visit this waterfall, go to the "public parking", slightly on the east from this location. From there, you can get down to the bicycle road - a new concrete way that will take you to this (and others) waterfalls.

Можно прогуляться по ущелью со скалами и водопадами, есть дорожка для велосипедов. При этом вы будите в полном одиночестве, потому что этот место по сути ещё закрытого и находится на этапе строительства …

Закрытая тропа, от этого ещё более атмосферная и красивая. Есть опасность обвалов, с детьми лучше не ходить.

Очень спокойное место. Красивое ущелье с 7-ю водопадами. Активно тает снег и воды много.
