I entered Paulines Catholic Bookstore in Castlereagh St, Sydney before closing time today at 4.52 pm today. I wanted to purchase a cross. The lady at The front counter would not direct me to where the crosses were, saying we do not have one for you and she said to go to St Mary's Cathederal . Finally she directed me downstairs. The sister downstairs was extremely condecening as the lady on the front counter. She kept saying we have cleaners. I said to the Sister I want to get a cross and all she could say is that we have cleaners. Within 30 seconds AGAIN the Sister interupts, we have cleaners. At that point by her watch, it was 4.58, still trading hours. I pick a cross and the Sister said to me to pay for it at the counter. DID she think I WAS going to STEAL a cross? I said to her I AM sorry to be a BURDEN. She claimed I WAS NOT s BURDEN. Yet what the Sister said, and her actions, and her deminer indicated that she did not want me in the store and that I WAS A burden. I was constantly interupted. The cleaners were her concern, not me a cutoner in her store and you can not have customers in the store when there are cleaners. I said I would not get in the way of the cleaners. But even that was not good enough, she did not want me in the store. That was her unaccomodation position. Thus by IMPLICATION this sister assumed I was going to STEAL the cross. Both LADIES were deceitful, they were condecending and they instulted my intelligence and their behaviour was far removed how Jesus would behave. HAD I BEEN DIRECTED TO WHERE THE CROSSES WHERE IN THE STORE AR FIRST INSTANT AND HAD I NOT BEEN KEPT INTERUPTED THEN I WOULD HAVE I WOULD HAVE PICKED A CROSS AND BE ON MY WAY. INSTEAD YOU GREATLY UPSET ME BY BEING DECEITFUL , LYING TO ME, SPEAK IN A CONDENCING TONE, TREATING ME LIKE THE DIRT BENEATH YOUR FEET. I WAS HIGHLY UPSET, IN DISBIELIEF. I COULD NOT BELIEVE I WAS BEING TREATED BY RELIGIOUS AND CATHOLICS. I WAS IN SHOCK AND STILL CAN NOT BELIEVE SUCH A DISMISSIVE,, DOGMATIC AND DEGRADING TREATMENT I WAS SUBJECT TO. IT WAS DISCUSTING, UNACCEPTABLE AND ABSOLUTELY NOT SATISFACTORY. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THIS BOOKSTORE AGAIN. INSTEAD OF BEING HELPFUL THEY WERE A HINDERANCE. INSTEAD OF BEING WELCOMING THEY WERE DISMISSVE. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THIS BOOKSTORE AGAIN.

My friend and I travelled from Wollongong to this fantastic bookstore. We were overwhelmed with the vast range of Christian books, music, CDs, DVDs, videos, posters, childrens books, educational material, statues, even books in Italian. Some bargains as well The staff were amazing, so helpful and friendly and we could have stayed there all day - there is an upstairs and downstairs section- only we desperately needed to eat. Can’t wait to visit again

The Sisters are absolutely wonderful and the products sold from the shop have obviously been carefully selected. One can't help but feeling uplifted after walking out of the shop or even just ordering over the 'phone. The 3D images of Jesus taken from the Shroud of Turin are very special.

Every time I go to Sydney CBD , I would definitely visit this one of my favourite bookshops. Various kinds of Christian books to choose from, especially ones for meditation. Quiet atmosphere & nice music background in the shop while browsing the books.

A cosy quiet atmosphere, the shop not too far from St Mary's Cathedral. A large range of books and religious articles. The Pauline Sister, on duty when I visited, knew exactly where my book was when I enquired. Very happy :)

Not loudly welcomed but feel cozy. Do not have large volume of stock but can find something I want to buy. Love gentle smile and soft greet to offer help. I love this place; this is a spiritual pond in a busy and dry CBD.
