Located in Westerstraat in the heart of Amsterdam's historic Jordaan area, Mooi Amsterdam Brand Store is a veritable feast for the eyes. An architects and interior designers paradise, Mooi is an elongated version of the Dutch word " mooi " which means beautiful, an apt description for the store's contents of stunning furniture., lighting, carpets and furnishings. With huge ceilings and a great view of the garden at the rear, it's not until you step inside that you realise how huge this place is with 700 square metres of floor space packed with items from some of the world's leading designers. A particularly fascinating aspect of the store is that many of its designs are based on the lost archives of extinct plants. Formerly, adventurers would travel the world, including some of its remotest locations, in search of exotic plants, which, at the time, were highly prized by the manufacturers of perfumes in search of unique scents and fragrances. Some were preserved in glass vials, others pressed between the pages of notebooks, or meticulously recorded in paintings and drawings. Over the course of time, many of the plants and scents were forgotten and feared to be lost forever. Moooi scoured the archives of perfume houses, botanical gardens, museums, galleries and universities and in the process, rediscovered many of these 'treasures' which have become a major source of inspiration for many of their designs. Moooi have also created a special range of fragrances from the "lost" plants. Since their establishment in 2008, Moooi have opened stores in London, New York, Stockholm and Tokyo

I was walking home one afternoon and noticed this store. I originally went in to buy a sofa-bed (the one I just bought prior was confiscated by the police because it was lined with amphetamines) but the lovely man with the nose piercing also convinced me to purchase a new Himalayan salt lamp! I especially needed one of those ever since my barren ex-wife took the last one (and the children). Now I certainly know which furniture store to shop at next time! Thanks Moooi Amsterdam!

Very cool furniture store....Moooi doesn't translate to anything that I know of. But I'm guessing it's a play on the word "Beautiful" which is "Mooi" in Dutch....but don't ask me... A high-end furniture and accessory store. I was taken back by the horse lamp. I really want that. A full-sized horse lamp. The building is amazing and the location is prime. I can't wait to come back when things are "normal" and we can browse more items and shop non-stop!

Geweldig service van Moooi Amsterdam! Nadat ik een mail had gestuurd dat 1 van de blaadjes van onze Herakleum Endless kapot was gegaan, kreeg ik vlot antwoord en ook een nieuw blaadje opgestuurd met 2 reserve erbij. En nog eens gratis ook. Echt fantastische service. Dit is niet altijd het geval bij woonwinkels, maar voor ons een reden om klant van Moooi te blijven. Je weet dat als je een probleem hebt, ze niet moielijk doen en het snel oplossen.

Worth a quick look while you're in the neighbourhood (they won't mind though it's more properly a destination for interior designers working in a high-end marekt). For the rest of us, it's a design experience, one that fills the space quite beautifully. And your pocket book will truly want to spring open for the bird-lighting fixtures. Be still my heart.

Inderdaad een móooie showroom vol design woninginrichting. Veel speciale vondsten op het gebied van verlichting. Heel mooi ontworpen vond ik de grote collectie vloerkleden, tapijten in combinatie met de meubels. Veel aparte vormen en kleuren. Een fraai ingebonden verzamelwerk over het Rijksmuseum maakt deze showroom helemaal af.

Furniture store with great designs! Iconic pieces like the famous real scale horse with a lamp in the head can be found here. Exclusive piece as well. Not cheap but is to expect from a luxurious company like Moooi, and is not common as well! Great costumer care here as well.

Besides the signature gigantic creative designs works, I'm very impressed with the friendliness of all staffs there. They love to share, take care of all visitors, and share the passion for the brand! Wonderful interactive experience for a furniture design label showroom.

Top service! Lamp was kapot, mailtje gedaan wat het probleem was. Vervolgens binnen enkele ogenblikken reactie, goede hulp en uitleg gekregen. Als kers op de taart het vervangende onderdeel kosteloos mogen ontvangen.

Zoe and the team over at Moooi were so helpful and detailed from start to finish. I'm so happy with my new plant chandelier that's now hanging in our home. Top class service and product quality!

Moooie toonzaal met fraaie collectie. De verlichting spreekt ons altijd het meeste aan. We hebben nu ook de nieuwe locatie aan de Utrechtsestraat bezocht.
