Overall a nice experience, as the car was in a good condition and we had no problems with it, however there are 2 things that made a bad impression. We made a booking through their website, stating Cancún Airport and Merida airport as the pick up / drop off locations, with specific hours that we needed their service. We paid the distant drop off fee for taking the car from Cancun all the way down to Merida, we had provided our flights numbers and times, then, just to be sure, we went to their Merida office a day before our scheduled drop off time, just to be told that we can't leave the car at the airport as there is no office there, and that we couldn't leave the car in the downtown office the next day either, as it would be closed at 7 am even though we had given that time when we booked the car, and of course, we had paid until that day. Also, even though we had provided Cancun Airport as the pick up location, only after we competed the booking procedure we were told that instead of taking the car from there, there would be a shuttle service from the airport to the office, with someone waiting for us to transfer us there. The problems are that 1) said shuttle is not free, they add it the price to your car rental without warning until the very time you are at the office and pay for the car, 2) they made us wait for half an hour outside Cancun airport as they made us wait 4 more of their clients to share a van. If you want to charge for your shuttle service you must let people know earlier, as there are other options to get to your office that don't consume time. If you can't have an office at Cancun and Merida airports, take off the "Airport" field from your reservation form. Be clear for what you offer and don't try to trick or lure your clients.

As many seem to use online reviews to vent negative experiences with renting cars and driving in Mexico, I thought it would be nice to share good experiences I had with Easy Way rental car. Before moving to the area, I rented cars several times from both Easy Way's office in Merida and Cancun. I made the reservations online - all the fees and various insurance options are clearly shown in US dollars and they were always quick to reply to emails. I used my credit card for the CDW/LDW without problem (many companies will not allow you to do this, instead requiring you to purchase their insurance, that often comes with a deductible) Their office is conveniently located in Centro and each time the process to get the car took about 20 minutes of paperwork and then going over any pre-existing damage, showing me the spare tire and jack, and that the car had 1/2 tank of gas and to return with the same amount. The only hitch was once they didn't have the exact car I reserved but gave me something similar that was actually a little less expensive. Had no issues with the cars, diving all over the Yucatan Peninsula Returning the car was quick and easy Overall, a very positive experience and I would certainly recommend Easy Way to anyone looking for a car rental while in Yucatan

Cette agence de location offre un service relativement acceptable qui peut être un bon choix si vous envisagez de louer un véhicule pendant trois jours ou plus. Cependant, pour ceux qui cherchent à louer une voiture pour une seule journée, je ne peux pas la recommander en toute conscience. Le principal inconvénient est l'absence de couverture d'assurance complète pour les locations d'une journée et la pré-autorisation d'un montant de 2000 dollars US, une mesure qui me semble excessive. Par contre, après trois jours de location, la couverture d'assurance devient complète et le montant pré-autorisé est réduit à un tiers. Une autre préoccupation est liée aux taux de change : je vous conseille de négocier le tarif et d'insister pour payer en pesos mexicains. L'agence a tendance à appliquer une majoration de 10 à 12% sur les transactions effectuées en dollars américains, en plus des frais que votre banque pourrait facturer pour le retrait de cette devise. En conséquence, le coût réel de votre location peut s'avérer bien supérieur au prix affiché. Soyez donc vigilant et assurez-vous de comprendre tous les détails financiers avant de procéder à la location avec cette compagnie.

First of all, their communication was aweful.. We wanted to book a car, so we sent an email. Nobody responded, so we asked again and got an offer from Jose Luis that seemed to be the manager. After accepting the offer, it still needed to be confirmed by the rental company and again, it wasnt confirmed until we sent another email. When we arrived, we had to pay another 300 USD as caution, that has never been mentioned before during the renting process. Also, the gas tank was completely empty. When we got the car, they made us sign a contract (their "full insurance" actually doesnt mean full insurance, ...) and gave us a car with a missing license plate (which got us stopped by military) So while we were on our way, we asked for their help with the car.. This Jose Luis (self proclaimed manager) basically said that whatever it is, its not their problem :-) When we brought the car back, we were not greeted by the "manager", it was the driest and rudest experience we have ever had. We never got back the "caution" even though we brought back the car in a very good state. All in all, we experienced this car rental as scam and would not advise anybody to go there.

Wow. Tomas' customer service is unrivalled. What a genuinely kind, caring, and friendly man. He had picked us up from the airport holding up a sign with my name, and proceeded to drive us to the office in town. Along the way, he talked to us about all the fun places to explore, food recommendations, and some local history. When we got to the office, the car and contract were already waiting. Everything that was stated online was what the contract stated in person. The best part? No hidden fees! I opted to get the premium insurance, so for 12 days the car rental cost me $400 USD total. They also held a 300$ deposit which is completely standard practice. Tomas took the time to explain everything in detail, even going as far as providing us his personal number in case of any issues. When we went to inspect the car, he actually used a light to see any existing damage and spent the time explaining to us everything in the car. People like Tomas are seldomly found, where not only are they a good businessman, they are also genuinely a kind human. I would highly recommend easy way rent a car, especially if you want a painless rental experience!

Excelente servicio, precio justo y trato amable, ampliamente recomendado, aunque no recordamos el nombre de quien nos llevó el carro, fué muy grato tratar con él y con el Sr Jalil, les pedí de favor una revista guía para el turismo de Yucatán y sin ser su obligación hicieron el favor de pedirla a Mérida y hacérmela llegar, gracias a eso, optimizsmos nuestro tiempo de uso del carro y conocimos gran parte de ese estado, una vez que llegamos a Mérida, antes de entregar la unidad con el Sr. Ancona que fué amable, atento, nos asesoró turísticamente hablando (recomendaciones de paseos, restaurantes, lugares para hacer compras, etc.) se puso a nuestras órdenes por cualquier contratiempo con el carro, en fín, nos hizo sentir que estaba permanente pendiente de nosotras por cualquier cosa, eso es ha de eficientemente su trabajo y dar más de lo que como clientes esperamos, ese Plus marca la diferencia, felicidades en Cancún y en Mérida, hacen excelente equipo, gracias!!!

La reserva inicialmente la realice por la web de ellos y todo super bien, muy ágil! Luego contacte por WhatsApp para verificar que todo estuviera bien y tuve un excelente trato del Sr Tomas. Recomiendo que revisen bien lo que necesitan y donde necesitan recoger y dejar el vehículo. Esto con el fin de ver que es lo que mejor se les adapta y ademas del presupuesto para el viaje. En el caso mio yo rente en Mérida Yucatan y para recoger en oficina, no en aeropuerto. En general el trato ya en oficina de el Sr Ricardo fue muy amable y me recomendó y aconsejo de todo un poco, por lo cual le agradezco mucho. Me brindaron un Kia Río en buenas condiciones y con el Full Cover. Les aconsejo utilizar la Tarjeta de Crédito AMEX ya que con esta tienen un convenio y no tuve que dejar deposito. Pero igual mejor consultan en el momento. Se que es difícil encontrar un buen rent a car, en mi caso volvería a rentar con ellos y el trato fue muy bueno. Muchas gracias

Wonderful, attentive, and professional service. Do not hesitate renting a car from Easy Way. We went to the Merida, Centro location. José and Tomas were excellent and truly put us at ease for our first time driving in the region. They were both very helpful, clear on policies, and made the process truly easy. Tomas even gave us local recommendations for food and sites. We made a reservation online. When we showed up, they gave us options of 2 vehicles. One was a brand new hatchback and the other was just what we needed. Slightly older and more incognito, since we didn’t want to stand out when driving in Mexico. The car was clean, ran smoothly, and all went very well. We would not have had an amazing week of exploring and adventures without this solid car rental. So with much gratitude, thank you Easy Way.

We pre-booked a car and when we arrived to pick it up we had to wait 30 mins before being attended to. Extremely slow service whilst some other Westerners were being attended to (who were actually just booking for later whilst we wanted our car at that point to get the most out of the day). They were being served by 3 workers as well. After our long wait we were told to pay a deposit of 40,000 MXN ($2373) which our credit card doesn’t allow. We have rented cars many times before but never had such a expensive deposit like this. Wish we were at least warned about this online beforehand. In the end we went across the road to rent a car - this was a much smoother process and was flexible with deposit options - we got a car within 15 mins. Absolute joke with this company being called “easy”!

I have rented a Kia Sportage from Easy Way Merida for 10 days. They showed me the car in the morning and it did seem in a pretty good condition. But once I started driving, I had noticed that all of the tires had very low tire pressures (20 when 35 was recommended). Even after putting the air in, one of the tires soon got a very low pressure. I brought the car to a tire shop and they found a volt in the tire shown in the pictures. They did not reimburse me after I fixed their tire and returned the car nor did not even contact me after saying they would give me a call when their “boss” got back to the office. Also one of the low lights wasn’t bright at all so we had to avoid going out at night. It was not a pleasant experience even though the trip in Riviera Maya itself was so much fun.

Terrible customer service for this agency, first of all nowhere in their site is it mentioned that the car must stay within 3 states in Mexico which is unheard of. They only mentioned it when we signed the lease, upon asking about his limit the agency representative said we just need to notify that we were leaving the peninsula to go to the adjacent state, only until then we were informed that police would be notified of stealing the car. We had to change our whole trip of going from Merida to Oaxaca. Now for the car, it was missing its front plate, which we only were told once we received the car. We were stopped all the time and had to show all the paperwork repeatedly. I would not rent there ever again, the manager was the single most rude person I've had contact with.

Would definitely rent a car from this company again! Normally I would rent a car from Avis, but because of a recent unpleasant service I had from them in Bonaire, i’ve decided against them and i’m glad I did. There were other car rental companies around as well but Merida Car Rental offered the lowest quote. Tomás delivered great & friendly service and was very thorough (the most thorough i’ve experienced with a car rental company) and even suggested us places to go. We also appreciated that he went out of his way to accommodate our early check-out (out of office hours) to catch our early flight back home. The car we got was clean and functional, no complaints there.

Excellent company. Made a reservation and checked, as a follow up, with whatsapp. I really wanted a specific SUV and Fernando from sales was very helpful. Made a down payment at the office a day before. They drove the car from Cancun to Merida in the evening. Next day the car was brought to our hotel at a small fee. Edward from the Merida office is a great guy. Speaks good English. He brought us to the hotel after we made the down payment, and when we got back after 30 days he brought us to the airport. All very easy indeed and smooth. Car was in perfect condition and brand new. Bringing back the car was easy too. I can recommend Easy Way.

Rented a car in Merida for 4 days. Armando courteously waited for my family at the airport and brought us to the office. Checking it was super fast as I had sent details before hand. Car was as expected. Pretty good condition, comfortable and safe. What you would expect when renting a car… The other two gentlemen at the office, Jose and Ricardo were very helpful too with suggestions for places to see. Ricardo took us back to the airport when checking out and shared lovely stories and pleasant conversation with my family. Would recommend these company to anyone visiting Merida. I know I will rent back again on my next trip.

We have used Easy Way out of Cancun a few of times and have also used them in Merida where they delivered a car to us upon airport arrival. We have even picked up and Cancun and dropped off in Merida. We chose to pick up the car at the Merida Centro location this time. As always, received exceptional service. They provide great detail on what to do in case of an accident, providing a direct number to the manager to call. They encourage you to photograph during the pick up phase. The return process is also very easy. Their prices are competitive and we'll probably never use another agency when traveling to the Yucatan.

We rented a car in Merida for a week. It was easy to reserve online, Tomas at the service desk was easy to talk to in English and was efficient with the reservation. The car worked out just fine - a few years old model with a few dings, but just cosmetic. We drove in town and a bit on the peninsula. All worked out really well. The office is in the central part of Merida, but they will come pick you up from your hotel and bring you back when you rent the car. Very good, well run organization in Merida. Prices are a little cheaper than big names. Get the full insurance package. Recommend this local company.

It is a scam. Worst experience with a rental company, stay away from them! We made reservations online with all the information of drop off pick up and we received a confirmation of the booking with the final price. We send the passport and driving license information and everything was settled. We arrived there to pick up the car and a) there was no car available and b) the price was double. They ruined our holidays and they were extremely impolite. They had the audacity to say that we are not the only ones, they have to cancel others also! Like this is any consolation. Avoid in all cost.

Great experience renting a car from these guys. Special thanks to Javier for making the process so easy! Extremely competitive price, excellent service, and upfront and honest company. The pick-up took about 30 minutes (mainly due to our endless questions) and the drop-off less than 5 minutes. On dropping the car off, they gave it a quick once over and then whisked us off to the airport for our flight. Would highly recommend Easy Way Merida and Easy Way Cancun (we did a one-way trip). We'll definitely use them again on our next trip to Mexico :D. Thanks again!

So we reserved online in advance and rent a car while visiting Merida and Tulum, Jose Luis picked us up from airport to their office located in downtown of Merida. The price was exactly what we reserved online with full insurance, no other hidden cost, we paid a deposit and it got canceled when we returned the car. Car was clean and had everything we needed. Will definitely rent with them again!

We had a 100% positive experience renting from Easy Way. I was a bit nervous renting from a local agency that didn't have an office at the Merida airport (they picked us up on time) but everything went exactly as planned. The staff is courteous and very conscientious, and the price does not change once you arrive (a very common practice). We rented a Dodge Caravan minivan that met all our needs. La atención por parte de José Luis y Felipe es personalizada, atenta y oportuna. Las instrucciones proporcionadas fueron claras. Nos apoyaron con la recogida en el aeropuerto y también en llevarnos al aeropuerto cuando entregamos el automóvil. Sus oficinas son céntricas en Mérida, lo cual es muy conveniente para recibir o entregar el carro.

We are from the US, we rented a car here for a week and had a great experience. Renting cars (especially in foreign countries) is usually the most stressful part of traveling. With this business we were basically stress free! Don't be put off that they're not in the airport. They send someone to pick you up at the airport, making your trip into Merida really easy as well! They were honest, kind, and helpful. We would definitely rent a car here again in the future. Thank you!

Booked a car 2.5 months ago. They had a nice offer, so I accepted it, sent all of the documents they asked, including credit card data. Less than 2 weeks before my reservation should start, they came back with no explanation to say the demand is too big and they don't have the car available. It seems a bit strange that they didn't say that before. I'd definitely be cautious and book another place if you don't wanna be left with no car at the last minute.

Made the reservation on line & everything was in order. No hidden fees. They provide full coverage at an additional cost which was important to us as other rental places charge you a percentage of the total cost of a car in case of an accident/damage. We opted for full coverage for peace of mind. Highly recommend. Marie at the front desk was helpful though she didn't speak English but with Google translate and a bit of Spanish we managed fine.

Rented a car in Tulum and dropped it off in Merida after 4 days. The whole experience was indeed very easy. Car was dropped off in our hotel and given a thorough walkthrough of the whole process and what to expect. The person even gave tips on how to ensure a smooth experience in Mexico. No communication issues at any point. Dropoff in Merida was smooth and took less than 10 minutes before being shuttled to the airport. Highly recommended!

Would recommend this car rental service to everyone. The prices you see are the prices you get. No hidden fees. They were able to pick up our party of 7 from the air port to do the check in in their office. At the end of the trip we just had to let Tomas know the time of our departure and he met us at the airport to do the check out. We had a good trip on a safe car. Price was very fair and cheaper than most car rentals in Merida.

I had made a reservation online on their website prior to our arrival but they did not have any car available for us. They offered to wait 2 hours for a car they needed to change the battery of or go to a poorly rated other car rental company. We ended up asking our hotel to help us contact an international car rental agency to secure a car. We paid more in the end but we did not waste more time and it felt safer.

Excellent experience. We rented a car at the last minute, and the company gave us a Kia Rio in less than 10 minutes after signing the contract. The contract was very easy to fill out. We also paid with American Express, and we didn't have to leave a deposit. The car was clean and complete, and it worked perfectly the two days we used it. Returning the car was very easy and fast.

We rented a small car for 7 days and had a great experience. This was our first trip to Mérida, we weren't sure where to meet them to get our car, and they kept messaging us until they were able to find us. When we turned the car back in they moved us to the front of the line, quickly inspected it, and immediately drove us to the airport for our flight. 10/10 recommend.

Rente un auto vía página web, cuando llegue no estaba y me ofrecieron un auto chino. Contrate la asistencia vial y el seguro más alto que tienen, tuve un percance que se revento una llanta en la carretera y nadie me apoyo, encima me hicieron el cargo de 2 llantas nuevas carísimas. Muy mala experiencia y cero recomendable, vale la pena pagar más con una agencia seria.

We rented a car last minute in Merida for the weekend. The pricing was transparent and the whole transaction was handled very professionally. We also got some useful travel advice. I definitely recommend renting here. The only thing to keep in mind is that a full insurance coverage requires at least 3 days of rental.

Easy Way we’re great for us. They stuck to the quote given, were courteous and flexible with our rental. We had the cheapest, smallest manual on their books but it was fine for trips to the Homún cenotes, Chichen-itza and Ek Balam (though long day trips). No problems with the car.

Thomas is a great agent representative. He was waiting for us at the airport as he indicated. Car was ready to pick up. He also went to pick up the car in the airport when we were coming back to the USA. 100% profesional. I definitely will book a car with this company again.

Appears to be a mom and pop operation. It took over a half hour to get through the paperwork (not computerized) and the up-selling for more insurance was pretty aggressive. My 'new' car had 70,000 km on it. They also placed a whopping $2,300 deposit against the car.

We've rented cars from this Easyway office several times during our Merida visits and have always had good experiences. They have never given me the hard sell on extra insurance or been overly picky on the car inspections. Good folks to rent a car from.
