I went to this school because of the good review but was very disappointed. People are nice and they try but in the end that is not what you come for. It seems they only use community teachers or just don't have knowledgable teachers. As soon as you ask any question about grammar they just freeze. They have no clue. I had several classes where only some other students , who were English teachers in Japan, could kind of figure it out together but the teachers were oblivious. I have spend 1,5 year in a school to learn Spanish and if I compare that to this it i shocking to be honest. After attending multiple classes I ended up just not going even though I prepaid. The frustration was just to big. There is no structure at all. They just put you in any class that has space. Basically the class consists of a "teacher" reading you the lines in the book and you repeating the line out loud. I had one day it was just me in the class and another student came 30 min late ( to a 1 hour class) and the teacher just decided to start from the beginning. If you dont mind just repeating what is read to you to learn, just do Duolingo and save your money.

After 9 months of studying here I've been very satisfied! The focus is on conversational Japanese and useful day-to-day topics and grammar. The general atmosphere is also very friendly and casual, which is a nice contrast to more "stiff" and formal courses out there. The price is by far the best value for money in Tokyo and the lesson&rebooking system is very flexible. In fact I've been actively recommending this school to friends and colleagues. The only thing I would add is more incentive to work at home in addition, maybe with some light homework or so. If you lack self discipline like me, the lack of study structure outside the class can slow your progress down a bit. Finally, the teachers and staff are super friendly and accommodating with any issues you may encounter

Took the group lessons both in person and online. In person were better for practicing conversation, online lessons are more convenient. Teachers are friendly and helpful both in person and online, but the lessons are less about learning new grammar and more on practicing and using grammar. So this may or may not meet your learning needs. I preferred learning the grammar myself (private tutor or self study) and then reviewing in the group lessons. For what it's worth, the pace of in person lessons are much faster than online, so they are likely more suitable for different kinds of people. Classes are also on the cheaper side but are more restrictive on rescheduling (less flexible).

My experience with Japan Switch was very positive. At first I just wanted to try and see how it goes, and I liked the teaching process and my teachers as well. I took group online lessons, and the groups never have been more than 2-3 people. So I ended up studying with the Japan Switch for more than a year and felt progress in my Japanese. Finally due to my schedule I had to stop studying but if when I feel the need to continue, I'll come back to Japan Switch again. The only negative point for personally my experience is their lack of evening or early morning online classes.

I'm more than happy with my experience at Japan Switch. I initially enrolled for 3 months but stayed for the entire year I have been living in Japan and it was definitely worth it. I learned a lot! I really appreciate the atmosphere at school and a feeling of a place I belong to thanks to the people I met here and events I attended. A huge thank you to Hidaka-sensei and Tomoe-sensei whose classes I had a pleasure to attend and to Atsuko-san for always being helpful. どうもありがとうございます!

Without a doubt the best Japanese language school! I took group and private lessons for several months and am thrilled. I noticed a clear improvement in my Japanese. The teachers are competent, patient and dedicated to seeing their students progress. They create an atmosphere where you feel comfortable and confident to speak. The entire staff has always been professional and accommodating, whether it be by email or at the school itself. Thank you Japan Switch!

Excellent school with great teachers. I've been using their services 3 times a week for about a year and I feel like I've learned so much. I had to put my classes on hold due to job related responsibilities I need to put priority on, but I would gladly return to them to continue my Japanese language journey again in the future.

I've had great lessons at this school. I go with the weekly 1-1 private lessons online. The quality of the instruction has been phenomenal and the teachers are incredible resources, friendly and easy to get along with. I highly recommend trying this.

Really good school, specially if you’re starting. Affordable, quite flexible, super nice staff and they organised quite a few social events, which can be nice if you just landed here. I would recommend

I have used Japan Switch for around half a year. They have a wide range of great tutors. Do mind, you will need to put some work aside from lessons, but you will get a lot of help and support.
