The teacher I had was great, very kind and professional so my review is not a reflection of them at all. However, the building and classroom where they hold lessons in Shinjuku is absolutely gross. The building itself is filled with sketchy "businesses", garbage fills the corners of the hallway and the stairs (which themselves are hazardous and falling apart with loose tiles everywhere), and is incredibly dirty. The room itself is not clean either with very used slippers you're expected to wear that have obviously never been cleaned or replaced. I found this to be very off-putting and insulting to both their students and teachers. I won't be going back nor recommending Asao to anyone I know.

Studying at Asao is very enjoyable! Teachers are very experienced, friendly and flexible to accommodate to student's schedule. After attending 8 lessons, my Japanese conversation skill improved and I will continue with more lessons. Highly recommended to study at Asao!
