This is such an historically significant site - in fact heritage listed! I am deeply saddened that the Northern Cemeteries group have allowed the site to fall into such disrepair and overgrowth. I am stunned that more is not made of this amazing site which is so full to the brim of local history. Get on board local governments of Willoughby, North Sydney and Lane Cove - our history is disintegrating on your watch. The Friends of Gore Hill is a wonderful group but quite simply the maintenance of this site is too mammoth and not the responsibility of a small group of volunteers. A plan to restore the dignity of this space is urgent.

great Gothic vibe from the age, the disrepair, the overgrowth, & near always emptiness..isolation. WORD OF WARNING: beware dusk (if you're not inclined/interested in random M+M encounters) apparently/allegedly the cemetery is/was/may have been a "cruising" (?) location.. long ago I found a curt, but polite, 'no thanks' to be quite a sufficient decline of attention... when I'd been snapping gloomily lit vaults & angels as the eve descended.

A friend of a friend took these pictures in one you can see a female ghost walking carrying maybe a doll. These images were taken in April 2017. The second image shows there was nothing but flattened ground . Very historical IMG_4654.PNG

An amazing secret place that I’ve driven past countless times. It’s overgrown and rambling. What’s amazing though is that even though it’s very old. There are some gravestones that are even from recent times.

Sad to see how this historic cemetery has been abandoned. Overgrown, paths breaking up. A significant period of Sydneys history is here etched in stone.

A beautiful old cemetery, well laid out, deliberately grown over but not overgrown. A wonderful experience. Thanks to Friends of Gore Hill.

Peaceful even with the hum of traffic noise in the background. Old graves, overgrown with wild flowers, weeds bushes & trees.

Pretty run down. Fascinating to walk through and see the treasured memories of people who've been part of Sydney.

There is a very smelly man in a orange business suit here. He is very friendly.

Its a nice quiet cemetery, although it is overgrown and often somewhat dirty.

A very restful place, but try to avoid this place for as long as possible

Great fun but was disturbed when I found out it is a gay pick up spot.
