I live in the neighborhood and shop here since 2007. I never was more disappointed like in the past couple of days. I noticed they started to sale rotten stuff: fruit (both fresh whole or cut up in containers … for example honey dew melon cut on the June 2nd and best before date on the 5th, at least that what was the label saying, it was already gone bad on the 2nd so I can deduct it was already packed spoiled), deli meats and sausages...I bought a few on Friday the 4th, today I took them out of the bags and the smell kicked me out of my shoes. I think the place started to have serious management and quality control problems. I do understand that the pandemic brought on issues hard to tackle but I do not think is impossible. I was tempted to bring the products back and have the managers taste them. I let it go this time, but I am shocked. This is the place where I and my family buy our food every 2 days trying to get the freshest. I am again very disappointed, whomever is in the managerial team now: shame on you!!! I should have taken the products to the Customer Protection Ontario but I think there is somebody willing to get things right fast.

Grocery shopping is a pleasure at this large, bright, clean store. We try to eat healthier and we appreciate a one-stop shop where we can buy everything we need. The store has a fresh market feel with its beautiful displays of fruits, vegetables, baked goods, cheeses, meats and fish and friendly staff ready to help you. They have an amazing selection of prepared and ready-to-eat, and ready-to-heat meals, that include freshly made sushi, pizza, sandwiches, vegetable, and fruit salads. The store layout has a has a natural flow to it which makes shopping more efficient and their wide aisles allow you to move freely through the store. They always have plenty of checkouts open and if you don’t wish to interact with a cashier clerk, they have self checkout stations too. After a recent shopping experience, I discovered that I had lost an earring while shopping. After an extensive search, I called the store in the hopes that it might be in their lost and found. I was so thankful to discover that it had been found and that someone had kindly taken the time to turn it in. Fortinos really is a supermarket “with a heart”!

I order online for pick up at the store or at the Bronte Go Station. Sometimes it is perfect, sometimes it could be better. That being said, I have never been disappointed with the quality of the fruits, vegetables or meat that was sent to me. Never. I wanted to get home delivery recently and realized that if you do that, you are directed to a different website and prices are much higher in addition to service fees and delivery fees. I believe it works with Instacart. Quite a scam. I replicated a grocery basket between pick up and delivery and realized that pick up at the store or the train station is much more viable economically. I don't understand why Fortinos is doing business with this California company. Store experience is also very good. Sometimes I go but, it takes much longer and cost more because... you are physically there and become a bit more impulsive!

Fortinos is a great outlet chain for groceries. My first and foremost compliment for Fortinos is underground parking. That knocks it out of the park for me especially on days that are just nasty outside and you don't have to drag all your groceries through the pouring rain or blizzard snow with cart struggles or even those super hot days where steering wheels melt and you get an instant tan when you sit in your leather seats. So yay for that. Next, the produce section always looks amazing. Freshness everywhere and it's very apparent. Prices are little up there compared to other grocery stores in the area but hey, some things are worth paying for. Nice atmosphere and I just don't seem to be as pressured in Fortinos as I might in other food stores. There is no doubt in my mind that I will continue to enjoy Fortinos.

Brought a cake from there yesterday. It was for my friends son bday. They asked them very clearly that how the cake going to taste. Is it going to be too sweet. In the response the staff showed another cake and advised it's just going to be like this. How can we know by seeing a cake its not going to taste sweet. Anyway we ordered it and got it yesterday and I want to say it was complete disaster. Small portion of bread and 70% icings which tasted extremely sweet.so this is not our first experience. Last year we brought the cake and I must say it was amazing. This year 2 times and both times it was disaster. If you changed your baking master then I would say hire him back. Nothing personal but when we spend money then we appreciate that if get some quality cakes.

I travel 20-25 mins to shop here. I don't know what it is about the place.... its super clean, well stocked, everything looks fresh, employees are super helpful and so nice... i guess its all of those things. During my shopping today i asked the butcher where something was and he personally came out and down some isle to show me, the self checkout guy came over and personally entered in all my vegetable codes so i didnt have to search and in the parking lot a boy waited for me to unload my cart to take it for me to the cart console.... yes he was probably going to grab all the carts but to politely wait for me to get my cart? God i really love this store. Its not cheap, its not meant to be no frills but honestly its a GREAT store. Shop here.

Amazing store. The setup is awesome; there are stores on-site such as a seamstress and their own pharmacy plus a unique flower area as well. There are public washrooms, elevators and escalators (1 for the cart(s) and 1 for the public to use to go between levels). On top of that there are fresh sections for fruits/ vegetables, cheese, meat/ fish, bakery, organics, etc., as well as freezers and aisles of food and specialty products as well that are clearly labelled above each aisle. There are self-checkout stations as well as cashiers to help you with your order(s). The awesome part is the various fresh food options you can choose from and the seating area for dining in if you so choose or, they can package/ wrap the food for takeout.

Would be better if the staff seemed engaged. Hot food counter basically had nothing because the previous shift apparently didn't make any sandwiches or soup... okay, then you make something otherwise what the hell are you doing behind the counter other than standing there to repeating the same story to everyone who asked for something. Rest of the store is well laid out and they carry pretty much everything you would expect with the shelves regularly replenished. If you want wedges, order a smaller size than you want because they stuff the box absolutely rammed pack full. Bargain! Saving grace that this store sells alcohol...

Sunday July 25. Very disappointed on this visit. While in the produce department with my partner who is in a wheelchair we were cut off several times by employees. Particularly by a gentleman who seemed to be a manager, he was dressed differently. He had a large number of boxes/trays on a wheel cart and cut right in front of us which made my partner have to stop abruptly and turn to get out of the way. This gentleman then seemed as if we were in his way and was annoyed. Some follow up training is needed here on how to interact with customers while on the selling floor and especially with customers with disabilities.

Wonderful service at Fortino‘s yesterday, above and beyond expectations! Just want to give a big shout out to two women who went out of their way to help me, Sunil and Roquia. I was looking for a caesar salad to take to a dinner and I truly didn’t have time to make one, there was none at the counter but Sunil notice me and asked me what I was looking for, upon telling her my story she kindly offered to ask her coworker to see if she had time to make one for me. Roquia generously offered to make me one. Thank you again ladies for taking one thing off my list and putting a smile on my face, I truly appreciate it!

I went in the other day looking for a certain coffee for my wife. I asked Mary at the coffee bar if they had any. She told me they were all out and weren’t getting it back. Mary then went out of her way and said if you like I could special order you some in but it would be a 5 pound bag. I had her place the order and today she called me to let me know it was in. That is an example of true customer service and that is how you make a loyal customer. I wish everyone had the professionalism and customer service Mary has I hope the people at Fortinos realize what a great person they have working for them.

Always enjoy the fresh produce, clean/bright atmosphere and friendly staff, but was seriously concerned my last visit with lack of structure/adherence to self-distancing during our current pandemic. Substantially below standard compared to other President Choice stores we have experienced - no one-way isles, crowded store, staff not practicing self-distancing, exposure to cashiers during self-bagging. Love the store and staff, but not worth the exposure risk for now, could do MUCH better with just a few simple initiatives seen elsewhere.

It’s in walking distance to my apt so that’s good. The good selection is great yes. Some items are expensive but it is what it is. Parking? There is no issue with parking as I’ve been there with my colleagues at lunch and we always get a spot. I never have issues with the people working there they seem nice to me. The self check outs are great if in a rush and u have only few items and not enough cashes open. Single serve drinks? Truth be told ya there should be some available. As for the “chaos”. They were renovating- chaos happens!

Well run one-stop shopping. Pleasant experience. Friendly customer service. Well managed. Employees are always communicating and working hard to restock. They have improved further after their late 2017 renovation. Fresh produce. Good selection of meats. Baked breads are excellent. The sushi take out counter is superb and the couple running it are a pleasure and they are always serving with a smile. Even on busy days before a holiday, all checkout lanes are open and things move quickly.

One of our favourite locations to purchase our groceries, everything seems to be always fresh. The prices are a little bit more expensive than other places but they offer no Name brand products just in case you don’t want to spend a lot in some products. What I love about this place is their “food court” a lot of options and super tasty, my favourites are the flatbread and the soups. They have some good desserts as well. Lastly, their bakery is amazing, I love the donuts from there.

I went there for the breakfast and was surprised by the amount of options they have in their cafe! ☕ The coffee station was amazing and the sweets and croissants, you can select from are too many! I recommend the 'Long John' if you have a sweet tooth. Their bagels too are yummy The store itself is huge with fresh fruits and vegetables. If you are new to eating salads try their 'Southwest fiesta' salad packing with nachos and corns! It's too good!

I go to this location on a regular base. There seem to always be an issue with pricing. It’s either the code doesn’t scan or they can’t read the code or it’s wrongly priced. They need to work on that. It’s very frustrating. Today was the price if firewood didn’t scan and nobody new the price. I had to wait for someone to go downstairs to check. Times before were the bakery didn’t price my items correctly. Sometimes price doesn’t scan. Please rectify thank you.

I had the best experience at the bakery. We ordered 5 half slab cakes the day before an event and the amazing women who worked on them were gracious despite the last minute order, and did a fantastic job! The cakes came out perfectly and were even ready before the scheduled pickup time. They went above and beyond to ensure I got the cakes into my car with no issue as well. We very much appreciated the hard work by these ladies, highly recommend!

Rude Management, and terrible on line customer service for starters. Next the Meat Dept seems to always be out of ground beef and pork chops. It is not restocked enough. The Produce Dept needs some quality control. The lettuce is usually rotten inside. When this is brought to the stores attention,....they say little,.....and i walk away disappointed. Not the friendliest store experience. They seem disinterested/aloof.

This Fortinos is located in South Oakville within walking distance for me. This location is up-to-date, clean, well staffed. They have an excellent bakery, butcher, seafood and produce departments. There is a very large selection of freshly prepared hot and cold foods to go or eat in store. The parking lot is located under the store which will keep you dry when the weather isn't. Check it out.

So, aside from their utter lack of knowledge when it comes to food allergies, they also changed their exchange policy on sodastream, exchange only. They also lie and tell you that's always been the way of it, when it never was and isn't anywhere else. It's expensive, unknowledgable, and frankly rude, I can't say I'd recommend this store to anyone when there's lots of other options available.

Beautiful store with covered parking. A little pricey but with good quality and a great produce section. In my option one of the best versions of a Presidents Choice store and will definitely be returning. Only downside was some of the staff were not friendly. I'll be using self check out next time. However the staff at the entrance including the security guy were very helpful and inviting.

Love their 2 different red beet salads and the detox red cabbage salad. Healthy, Delicious, fresh and low salt. Also, they have raw organic nutritious veggie juices including the red beet juice that I bought and enjoyed drinking right away. And the raw kombucha tea was perfect to help my digestion. I also bought some beautiful Potted flowers which were nicely wrapped. Highly recommend.

I like how this grocery store has places where I can sit and enjoy a variety of hot foods/drinks. Sometimes, I find that all of the tables are filled, and it makes it hard to find a place to sit and enjoy my coffee and/or food. Otherwise the selection of the store is good, more higher end foods than cheaper brands. Staff are helpful and the checkout lines are reasonable.

A very well organized store with great displays and selections. Prices are high but I am assuming that do to the presentations, selections and the different types of food services with almost a market feel to them that this is also being reflected in the prices. Having said that I would encourage everyone to atleast check out their food courts, they are REALLY nice.

I love coming to this store. I am in here at least 3 - 4 times per week. Adam one of the cashiers provides excellent service and always remembers my name when he greets me. He resides in Milton and this makes me feel Fortinos is an extension of family. Produce is excellent and the staff in the bakery are always willing to slice my loaves of Panera White Bread.

do NOT shop here from 11-1 on weekdays. that is when the students come from the nearby high school and you will not have a fun time. believe me, i’m one of those high school students. other than that it’s a nice store with somewhat decent prices, quality food and good options. i recommend. also definitely try the clam chowder and turkey club combo

This is a grocery store with top notch fruit and vegetables as well as the best fish counter in the area. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, the prices are good and the fish is always fresh. You can ask to see the labels of where the fish came from and when it was caught. The staff also has many ideas for how to prepare it.

Good store. But because the parking lot is covered, it never gets rained on. And as a result its always very filthy. Spit, gunk, food and god knows what else is always all over the ground. Repulsive to say the least. I find myself driving to the neyagawa store instead Would be wonderful to clean the parking lot occasionally?

I had ordered sandwiches for an office meeting today. The lady I talked to on the phone when I made the order was named Claudia. She was very kind, polite and helpful on the phone. The sandwich team did a wonderful job on the trays and everyone said they were delicious and they truly were! Thank you so much!! :)

Cashiers are normally friendly, but the other employees never come across as happy. The fresh meats are usually higher quality, but they become a great value in the morning when some are 50% off. The produce reduced rack can have a decent selection and there is usually day old pizza at 50%, it's good for reheat.

Good store but high prices although really no worse than Metro or Sobeys. I shop here for sale items only and for some PC products as the one No Frills left in Oakville now is too far away. Usually a great selection of day old baked goods is available. The cart escalator is worth the trip at least once.

Another great shopping trip here. Helpful and friendly staff in every department from cheese to grocery to checkout to flowers. This store knows customer service. Especially impressed with the kind man gathering carts in the parking lot who stepped in to help unload my cart into my trunk.

Wonderful place to shop if you need things not found in the everyday supermarket. They have great deli food, great fresh produce and fresh flowers always. I love going there and can easily walk from my home.Everyone should shop at Fortinos at least once, I guarantee you will come back!!

I had terrible customer service. I asked a CSR to see if they could get more of this product in the back and she told me she was too busy counting. If I wanted to wait 5 minutes maybe she could help. She should have gone to get someone else to assist us. We walked out. So disappointing

This location has a great chicken noodle soup! Although every time I go to the hot bar and I’m not watching the younger employees getting my soup… I always end up with all soup and barley any noodles or chicken. Very disappointed to get home and my dinner is just broth.

Well organized, friendly staff. Great soups during lunch. Very tasty bread and pastry. Job well done bakery staff. Also sea food employees are well trained and know their jobs well. They even remember what I buy on regular basis. Very impressive. Keep up the good work.

The best store for fresh veg and fruits in Oakville. Their bakery makes fantastic baguette compared to what passes for one elsewhere. Reasonably priced staples and a clean store. Kudos to the teenagers that work here during the pandemic, they’re doing a great job.

Went here near closing time for a last minute grocery run. One of the fortinos with a more confusing layout. I didn't like how the pharmacy is a separate store which closed early. Other fortinos at least keep some of the pharmacy items accessible after hours.

The location is well-set-up with fresh food however your secret shopper with the ponytail needs to back off! Not everyone that is grocery shopping is looking to steal something. I visit regularly and I would love for him to back off while I shop. Thank you.

It is the best grocery store in Oakville. Easy parking, covered and uncovered. The vegetable and fruit excellent. Pastry section excellent, canned selection excellent, meat section excellent, I liked everything about the store. Great flower selection etc.

People at the sushi and noodle bar will go on their phones and out of their way to ignore you - happened to me 4 times now. Completely ridiculous and unlikely to go back. Otherwise grocery store staff and service are great. Store is exceptionally clean.

best pizza ever ... but order a slab pizza with various flavors and their own menus are great. great to catch a bite and then sit by the lake ... did I mention the rest of the store is also awesome ... one of the best meat counters and fresh groceries.

I've shopped at this Fortino's for years and the one thing that stands out the most is the EXCELLENT customer service. Management and Staff are always nice and try to be very helpful. The product selection always meets what I need. Highly recommend!

Paying $27 for multicolored roses on Thursday and then they die by Saturday. Wth. How old were theses before I bought them. And yes, my wife knows how to take care of roses believe me. Not impressed with the flower shop. Will not buy there again.

The ladies in the soup and sandwich area are very rude if you don't speak their language. The international language in Canada is English. They should at least speak English to the customers and not look at the customer as if they have 4 heads.

Great grocery store! They sell fresh pizza inside and also cakes, sushi, coffee, and many more. The fresh produce is good quality and they have a decent selection of wine. Overall I am very satisfied with my visit, and will be attending again.

It's beautiful and clean with many choices. It has a few fast food and coffee counters with a nice sitting area. This place is very expensive. Attendants are everywhere stocking and cleaning. Five Stars for the store, One Star for the prices.

As expected, this location has good parking and most of it covered, with a very large variety/selection, layout that's nice and easy to navigate. Staff are great and very friendly. Feels amazingly clean and safe in the pandemic times...

They have the absolute best meat dept. And the produce is second to none. Granted the prices are a little more but you get what you pay for and with smart shopping and sales it too can be an economical store... Highly recommend

Definitely not at the address they are claiming. 1 star for wasting people's time. Not even in oakville they are located in Markham apparently. Which is nowhere close. And who wants to wait 2hrs for delivery lol ? Weird flex.

Clean store. Easy to find things. Excellent variety. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Like you can park out of the elements. Flower shop on the main level has excellent prices and selection too!

This supermarket is clean and everything in here is fresh!!! It has absolutely all items that are needed from fresh fruit, baked goods, alcohol, floral arrangements and a pharmacy. I highly recommend Fortinos.

Clean store, very comfortable ambience for shopping. Product assortments are great. Store layout and displays are appealing. Prices are higher than discount chains, but below that of Whole Foods Market.

Pricey but I really love the selection they have available and all of the fresh bakery items. The focaccia bianco is awesome. They also sell lactose free buffalo mozzarella which is awesome!!!

Great meat and seafood counter. Finding red pepper jelly took queries to two different staff in order to suceed (first one blew us off, must be out of stock, second one took us right to it).

In the heart of downtown Oakville. One of the best grocers in town. Extensive selection across all product categories. One of my favorites, the artisanal pizza. You won't be disappointed.

The bakery (cakes/pastries) has the worst customer service. You could be standing there for 20 mins before someone wants to help you. They should have designated counter people.

Love this store. Always good selection of quality food. They have a wall of 40 different coffee beans, you can fill any amount you like in a paper bag. Fresh and eco-friendly.
